I love that on modrinth I can filter between server and client side mods and specific version numbers. Makes it very easy to find new mods since I always play on vanilla SMPs, so I can only use client mods
Modrinth is epic, but I (totally not biased) think that PMC also has its uses. For example, Modrinth has less of a community outside of it’s Discord server. There’s no communication on-site, and you can’t meet new people and interact with others as much as you can on PMC. But if you’re a mod developer, then Modrinth would definitely be a good choice You’re aware that I’m also working on a website specifically for uploading Datapacks too, so this video helps us a ton! :D
Yes, as I mentioned on another comment, PMC still is useful as a forum for Minecraft communication and meeting people. And who knows, maybe Datapack hub will replace it when it goes public
Curseforge does allow revenue, as a relatively small but successful resource pack artist in the past, I made about $40 off of my 20,000 downloads. Honestly not bad, although I will say that I do love Modrinth's UI, some of the best out there.
From another video I watched and understood, modrinth offers much higher revenue than curseforge. CF takes a lot of revenue from ads, while modrinth offers 100% to the creator. Modrinth is worth a look in that.
tbf PlanetMinecraft has much more communication elements in it, I'd say it's closer to some sort of Minecraft-related 00s social network rather a modding platform. Personally I use PMC for publications and CurseForge for actual downloads (so, trying to download from PMC redirects to CF), but looking forward to swtich from CF to MR one day
You didn't convinced me. I already was convinced :D And pretty much by the same video You were mentioning. But I'm still to upload my first datapack there... it's still in testing. It's all about improving loot_tables.
Guys I really need some Help. So I heard that curseforge is getting *cursed* so I downloaded modrinth. I did exactly what it said and I was able to create a modrinth account. But when I tried to click play, it says “you are not logged in”. How do I fix this? I really need some answers and I will greatly appreciate it
should i get it because i noticed sodium isnt updating on forge but i heard its on modrinth, but i dont see worldetit, can it still launch through that?
Hi, I'm not Gears, I'm just some guy but, sadly, the answer is no. The only way mods get put up there is if the creators upload them, and while *most* mods are on there, some aren't
curseforge is way better you can create modpacks instantly and it will automatically fix any conflicting mods by disabling them so u dont need to learn code to find what the issue is with a mod and can even switch versions and it will download all the mods with that new version without breaking your games
Planet Minecraft still good for bringing traffic to your modrinth page by linking to it.

Yeah that point was a little flimsy as I've not used CurseForge before.

Yeah. PMC has features like forums, which Modrinth doesn't, but from a publishing datapacks point of view, I prefer MR
Very interesting stuff!
I never realised PMC had dedicated modders. I've always assumed Curse was the go-to
They don't. PMC is more for datatapacks and maps

when i first made a mod i choose modrinth because my friend said so and i have 1354 downloads on that mod :D
what mod
what mod?
What mod?
Modrinth vs ATlauncher?
Modrinth on top!
one thing about modrinth is after you upload in it they can use your mod in anyway they want without your permission
same thing with curseforge, planetMinecraft, youtube, geometry dash or whatever else you can think of. This is literally not special
Yeah that's how the legal system works
i see modrinth as a planet minecraft alternative not a curseforge alternative
cool video either way tho
Curseforge for the win
Can you create you own modpack in modrinth and please if you can make a tutorial! please.
You can make modpacks, but a tutorial on that isn't really my kind of video, sorry
@@GearsDatapacks oh ok thanks for the answer 👍
If it worked I would switch, but unfortunately it doesn't so I can't.
Quick question: are all mods EVER in modrinth? Because other than the whole "one click and you install" i dont know about modrinth

@@PeppyWasTaken well time to pull a "never let them know your next move" (proceeds to use both modrinth and curseforge and 9minecraft and-)
That's correct thanks.
Planet minecraft is still good for small tweaks texturepacks

Planetminecraft is better, and this is AD obviously
