It should also be pointed that TechnicLauncher is huge security risk waiting to happen. Instead of fetching mods from original sources like Curse or Modrinth just like Curse Launcher does it, people pack the mods in arbitrary zip files that they then host it on arbitrary CDNs/websites. Technic hosts only 16 official packs which I assume should be safe. The rest 10 thousands or so modpacks are completely unmonitored. Technic does not have any system in place that would at least try checking if the mods contain malware. Anyone can just upload anything. There are some volunteers that check tiny fraction of the modpacks but most of them are just completely untouched. Like there is this Mythical Network modpack second in rating which is sketchy as hell, it also have completely custom jars made by whoever. So what stops anyone of making a trending modpack and injecting malware into one of the mods or making custom jar with RAT? Nothing. Nothing at all. As far as we know there could be hundreds of people infected already in the wilds and we just don't know it because the malware does good job hiding itself. Isn't that concerning? And if there is nobody infected yet, than I would be very surprised how this ancient and flaw full system wasn't exploited yet. Ideally Technic should fetch mods from mod hosting websites which already have malware detection tools in place, like Curse. But honestly even Curse allows for mod overwrites in their modpacks which is also kinda bad.

@@firestar09_10 Yeah, but for less active developers, Modrinth still pays more as Curseforge just takes everything if they consider you inactive. And they don't make the list of things that make you inactive public. Modrinth pays you, even if inactive

multimc is a really lightweight launcher and i like it but i couldnt find (and i dont think it exists) an option to download mods from directly the launcher. Prism is meh at the moment imo. It sometimes doesnt recognize the mods you have installed when searching for new ones and gives you dependencies you already have. Also there are no categories in the mod browser so it's harder to find mods. Also it sometimes freezes and feels clunky especially when running a heavy modpack. For me ATLauncher is the best but it also lacks some stuff like categories and the ability to shrink the window as much as prism (i sometimes want to watch a video and the launcher takes up so much screen space that i cant but them both without overlaps.) Also I wish there was a search option in the already installed mods like in prism as well as the sort of 'shopping cart' style of installing mods that prism has where you select a couple and then confirm all of them at the end
I think they're not so user friendly and not looking so good. Since they're using Qt engine frontend is not so customizable. Also they don't have something like modpack browser. I think this is the biggest reason to use modrinth's launcher
