My truck had CCV filter on it. I didn’t delete it but I did replace. My mechanic said it’s probably what started my oil leaks. My truck doesn’t drip but seaps some everywhere 😂. Might look into the delete for that. Also the cp4 disaster kit would be a good idea. I already did all the deletes
My cousin just spent like 11k+ on a cp4 disaster fix at the shop so I figured I’d rather pay 400 +the pump itself if it fails. And I have heard a lot of guys leaks stop after deleting ccv apperantly, luckily mine had never leaked at all

S&S kits are a must on the earlier 6.7’s….cp4 failed on my 2011 450 Dump truck and got super lucky that it didn’t grenade my injectors….spend the money to save a lot more money down the road. Beautiful truck by the way my guy!
Also super important. swap that upper fuel filter from plastic to a housing with a spin on. Next replace the charge air cooler pipe with a metal one instead of the plastic. Mine has broken and I know two people who had it go. It’s easy insurance

@@EricSargent-n3l if you get the bypass kit then theres no reason for DCR conversion, run it till it blows, then get DCR if you want. The odds are your cp4 might never even fail at all, then you will sell the truck with an extra couple grand in your pocket still
Just FYI after it splits or in my case when it blew off the truck you're stuck. No turbo, no power..truck barely moves. Better to get ahead of the game (especially if you're running a tune w/ increased boost) then have it blow on a road trip like mine did...lol, Lesson learned the hard way.

@@boydgray2285 I had same problem when I got my truck, somewhere along the wire going from the tuner to the obdII port theres a switch you have to flick. However you do have to have power coming from the fuse box to it for this to work. I had to run a fuse tap into the wiring of the tuner where there are ends of wire that go to nothing that ur supposed to use to make the fuse tap, then I flicked switch and it worked

I don't know who did the EGR delete but those covers are horrible, if the outside of the main blank is rusted I would hate to see what the inside looks like with coolant running through it. Get some nice anodized aluminum block off plates , they aren't that expensive. Or clean up those covers and spray them with some high heat paint to make them look presentable. I was told by a diesel mechanic that the CP4 bypass on a powerstroke is pretty much pointless, in 35+ years he has never had an issue with the CP4. Dirty max trucks are usually the ones that need the fix.
@@crashweekly7925 everyone on fb cry’s about cp4s and spend $3,500 swapping a dcr into it. I did it for cheap insurance. The block off plate was on it when I got it, it shouldnt have any corrosion on the inside. Outside is exposed to salt and air, inside is not. No reason to replace it nobody sees my engine

@@nick7.3 Unless you have a built cp4 that outputs more fuel then the dcr will work great and possibly gain you some power. I plan on going to the dcr because of how it creates the pressure almost identically with way less internal stress. and its from s&s for the same price as a new cp4.
I got the H&S my whole dash lit, I ended on the side of the road last month because it shut me down till I unplugged it even that my truck didn’t want to crank until I unhook the negative battery terminals and did a restart im still driving around with the stock tune on. I just can’t have the tuner plug in telling me the EGTs or load or else I’ll be on the side of the road again

One issue with a 6.7 are the lifter trays. Plastic junk. One fails, your roller lifter turns and begins regrinding your cam and filling your oil system with glitter. What a shame that Ford went with a plastic setup inside the engine.
When you step back and look un biased. It’s crazy all the money you have to spend to make a truck dependable. Not including the price of truck. The price of mods and deletes and labor prices. It’s so impractical. But I need my F250. And need another one. Damn.

These gas trucks are prolly just as good. And they tow just as much. Who honestly pulls 15k lbs across the US? I’m looking for a used 2016 F250 diesel. If I delete the DPF and EGR and do all the stuff required to throw no codes or engine light etc. make it like a real engine that can drive 145 miles a day. Like my 7.3 does with half million miles. You dont need to spend it though.. Ford has really got the emission stuff down. I drive a 20 F450 as my government work truck... emissions HAS to stay on those... 70% of its run hours are idle... it drives to a job site and then is used to charge tools.. and provide light.. etc... not one damn issue. Truck still hauls equipment and hauls ass... The whole "DELETE" thing is goofy... all truck have parts that are going to break.. but there are plenty of trucks with 200-300k on them with factory emissions
@@nick7.3 Found out its not the hinge, its the rubber stripping on the frame thats worn down and rubs against the metal door when you close it. Need to find an oil that wont dry or evaporate that I can rub on the rubber weather stripping right there
@@tacticaljohnofficial no kidding, I always assumed it was the hinges. I took some ZEP silicone spray and carefully sprayed it on the rubber on the edge right below windshield where I could see it rub against door. I was shocked to see it is now dead silent
@@nick7.3My understanding is the shavings go straight to the injectors. So the bypass would save having to clean the return lines and fuel tank, but the injectors(most expensive parts) are toast. Or am I missing something?
@@kbwaldron no ur missing something it protects everything, including the injectors, when it blows it sends shavings to the return lines, then it makes its way back to the injectors watch S&S diesels video on it
All deleting the EGR could do as far as Temps is make it a little cooler, when it’s still on it will put hot exhaust into ur intake with it deleted you got strictly cold intake air
@@nick7.3 Actually when running an EGR while it is dirty, its ran through an intercooler before reentering the engine and removing it actually increases the EGT's I just wasnt sure if you had ran into problems. Some people see super high temps when towing.
@@HMuny55intercooler physically cannot cool air to ambient temperature or below. Fresh air is always colder, not to mention that fresh air will end up going through the intercooler aswell.
@@warmpankake962 The combustion temps are lower with the egr circulating into the combustion chamber. Every person ive seen that has deleted their EGR has seen dangerously high EGT's at times.... I thought this was common knowledge but u guess not. It's not about the temp of the air coming into the engine that determines the EGT's its the temps generated at combustion with the air(o2) fuel ratios
It’s terrible to have motors that need so much work and money to make it more reliable. Possible another brand could be better? I’m not sure but it’s a great looking truck.
2012 f250 deleted and running a minimaxx...im getting 13 pulling 7x 16ft enclosed tool trailer. Without my trailer and staying out of the throttle i can get close to 18

Don’t buy disaster prevention kits. It’s a $400 waste of money. Fix the real problem: the CP4. Get the upgraded RCD CPX pump ($1000 base price) or even better, the S&S DCR conversion ($2000). No guarantee those DPKs will work and even if they do you’d still have to replace the pump. If you’re in there just do it right.
@nick7.398 my experience with k&n I put one on a dodge cummins. I cleaned it often as well, but I was finding dust on the inside of the intake tube. They work good on gasoline motors, but diesel with turbo will pull dust into motor. Better off if you can adapt a BHAF filter to it.
How many guys have to get nailed by the epa before people figure it out??? You may not need a state inspection but its against federal law to delete emissions stuff. So putting it up front on UA-cam after doing it is pretty bright.

Ahh come on mate, the CAC pipe is easy to change. My hot side pipe was the pain. Fkn factory boot stuck on the intercooler and getting the clip to come off the the end that was attached to the turbo was a pain.
@@nick7.3 on the hot side pipe we can agree. The CAC pipe is a more common failure point that is worth the $300 investment to replace with a Pusher or other manufacturer replacement. That’s just my opinion and what I did when my truck hit 100k miles.
I want a 6.7 I’d just go ahead and install a S&S DCR pump that replaces the cp4 all together. Other then that just a tune and delete with intake and exhaust is fine for me.
First off in your video, you advise eliminating all the federal law enforced requirements. Get caught and you might ask those have been caught what fine they paid. Over 5k is commonly paid in all states ans in Canada. but the fine can be more, much more,. You pay but still must restore the vehicle to legal requirements. That' s if your vehicle isn't impounded, good luck. I'll keep mine so it passes the legal requirement.

You forgot one important thing with these 6.7 trucks. You need a bank account with 15,000-20,000 bucks in it for emergency repairs. Nothing is cheap to fix on those trucks when it it comes to motor issues. If yet to see any one offer proof that those disaster kits actually work. Everyone I seen post about their CP4 pump failure they ended up having to do injectors, lines and a tank flush or replacement.

I would not recommend venting the crankcase to the ground, that is quite the environmental hazard. Rather have it vent into a catch can that you can empty into a used oil container.

And thr Ford 6.7L Power Stroke had a 50% failure rate for me. Not any thing to brag on. If S&S had invented the DCR replacement for the shit CP4 nine years ago I would have likely went that route. But, as is, I traded for a Ram in 2018, while they were still putting the CP3, before the 2019 “upgrade”!

Texas passed a no longer need inspection bill. Only gasoline vehicles in highly populated cities still need emission test. Diesels are exempt.

You did great things. I still HIGHLY recommend using Opti Lube fuel additive in every single tankful to help lubricate that CP4 and the injectors.

When the plastic on mine split, the dealer had several charge pipe kits in stock. Wonder why lol
I got a rubber one, just had to tighten the hose clamps back down after I blew the boot off at about 105mph

Probably a loose connection somewhere I know a lot of guys with chips on old 7.3s have them get a little loose and it makes it not start

170,500 now bought it with 156k and was already deleted, previous owner deleted it soon after buying it in 2015 so id assume didnt have much miles

The cp4 bypass kit? It’s available from s&s diesels website if you search “s&s diesel cp4 bypass kit” on google it will come up

One issue with a 6.7 are the lifter trays. Plastic junk. One fails, your roller lifter turns and begins regrinding your cam and filling your oil system with glitter. What a shame that Ford went with a plastic setup inside the engine.
When you step back and look un biased. It’s crazy all the money you have to spend to make a truck dependable. Not including the price of truck. The price of mods and deletes and labor prices. It’s so impractical. But I need my F250. And need another one. Damn.

@@nick7.3 I bought my 7.3 many moons ago. For its dependability and longevity. Well that went for all diesels. Now I struggle to see the point of a diesel engine for us consumers. These gas trucks are prolly just as good. And they tow just as much. Who honestly pulls 15k lbs across the US? I’m looking for a used 2016 F250 diesel. If I delete the DPF and EGR and do all the stuff required to throw no codes or engine light etc. make it like a real engine that can drive 145 miles a day. Like my 7.3 does with half million miles. Do I have to re install that stuff every time I need my stickers?

You dont need to spend it though.. Ford has really got the emission stuff down. I drive a 20 F450 as my government work truck... emissions HAS to stay on those... 70% of its run hours are idle... it drives to a job site and then is used to charge tools.. and provide light.. etc... not one damn issue. Truck still hauls equipment and hauls ass...
The whole "DELETE" thing is goofy... all truck have parts that are going to break.. but there are plenty of trucks with 200-300k on them with factory emissions

@@nick7.3 Found out its not the hinge, its the rubber stripping on the frame thats worn down and rubs against the metal door when you close it. Need to find an oil that wont dry or evaporate that I can rub on the rubber weather stripping right there
@@tacticaljohnofficial no kidding, I always assumed it was the hinges. I took some ZEP silicone spray and carefully sprayed it on the rubber on the edge right below windshield where I could see it rub against door. I was shocked to see it is now dead silent

Stock ford grille with rough country light bars, wouldn’t recommend them though they very very rarely want to work always having problems with them

@@JustinaPham a filter that catches the metal shavings if your cp4 fails, saving the rest of your fuel system
@@nick7.3My understanding is the shavings go straight to the injectors. So the bypass would save having to clean the return lines and fuel tank, but the injectors(most expensive parts) are toast. Or am I missing something?
@@kbwaldron no ur missing something it protects everything, including the injectors, when it blows it sends shavings to the return lines, then it makes its way back to the injectors watch S&S diesels video on it

All deleting the EGR could do as far as Temps is make it a little cooler, when it’s still on it will put hot exhaust into ur intake with it deleted you got strictly cold intake air
@@nick7.3 Actually when running an EGR while it is dirty, its ran through an intercooler before reentering the engine and removing it actually increases the EGT's I just wasnt sure if you had ran into problems. Some people see super high temps when towing.

@@HMuny55intercooler physically cannot cool air to ambient temperature or below. Fresh air is always colder, not to mention that fresh air will end up going through the intercooler aswell.
@@warmpankake962 The combustion temps are lower with the egr circulating into the combustion chamber. Every person ive seen that has deleted their EGR has seen dangerously high EGT's at times.... I thought this was common knowledge but u guess not. It's not about the temp of the air coming into the engine that determines the EGT's its the temps generated at combustion with the air(o2) fuel ratios
It’s terrible to have motors that need so much work and money to make it more reliable. Possible another brand could be better? I’m not sure but it’s a great looking truck.

Don’t buy disaster prevention kits. It’s a $400 waste of money. Fix the real problem: the CP4. Get the upgraded RCD CPX pump ($1000 base price) or even better, the S&S DCR conversion ($2000). No guarantee those DPKs will work and even if they do you’d still have to replace the pump. If you’re in there just do it right.
At the time that dumb pump wasn’t even out I’m sure the kit will work these usually only go out at like 300k lol
Defeat all emissions. Straight pipe. Upgrade air filter, no k&n and you're good to go.
Why no k&n same thing it’s a air filter I have a s&b on mine I think it’s a waste of money and does no more good than stock
@nick7.398 my experience with k&n I put one on a dodge cummins. I cleaned it often as well, but I was finding dust on the inside of the intake tube. They work good on gasoline motors, but diesel with turbo will pull dust into motor. Better off if you can adapt a BHAF filter to it.

How many guys have to get nailed by the epa before people figure it out??? You may not need a state inspection but its against federal law to delete emissions stuff. So putting it up front on UA-cam after doing it is pretty bright.

Ahh come on mate, the CAC pipe is easy to change. My hot side pipe was the pain. Fkn factory boot stuck on the intercooler and getting the clip to come off the the end that was attached to the turbo was a pain.

@@nick7.3 on the hot side pipe we can agree. The CAC pipe is a more common failure point that is worth the $300 investment to replace with a Pusher or other manufacturer replacement. That’s just my opinion and what I did when my truck hit 100k miles.
I want a 6.7 I’d just go ahead and install a S&S DCR pump that replaces the cp4 all together. Other then that just a tune and delete with intake and exhaust is fine for me.
DCR pump costs thousands, the filter is $400. Also DCR reduces power so thats why I chose not to do that

First off in your video, you advise eliminating all the federal law enforced requirements. Get caught and you might ask those have been caught what fine they paid. Over 5k is commonly paid in all states ans in Canada. but the fine can be more, much more,. You pay but still must restore the vehicle to legal requirements. That' s if your vehicle isn't impounded, good luck. I'll keep mine so it passes the legal requirement.

You forgot one important thing with these 6.7 trucks.
You need a bank account with 15,000-20,000 bucks in it for emergency repairs. Nothing is cheap to fix on those trucks when it it comes to motor issues. If yet to see any one offer proof that those disaster kits actually work. Everyone I seen post about their CP4 pump failure they ended up having to do injectors, lines and a tank flush or replacement.
Ive never seen anyone spend 15,000 on repairs on these ever and I’ve never seen anyone have a disaster kit not work

@@12pawsinn I did half of it, mods do not add any value whatsoever. Due to these reasons I looked for a truck already tuned and deleted to save me a few thousand dollars.
I would not recommend venting the crankcase to the ground, that is quite the environmental hazard. Rather have it vent into a catch can that you can empty into a used oil container.

And thr Ford 6.7L Power Stroke had a 50% failure rate for me. Not any thing to brag on. If S&S had invented the DCR replacement for the shit CP4 nine years ago I would have likely went that route. But, as is, I traded for a Ram in 2018, while they were still putting the CP3, before the 2019 “upgrade”!

@@nick7.3 CP4 ain’t bad! LOL, there is are reason both GM and Cummins dumped it for a better pump. There is a reason S&S developed the DCR. I had two 6.7 Power Strokes. One CP 4 failed, ( That’s 50% for me) repaired under warranty; but I will not have a vehicle I have to worry about when it is gonna up and die because od a poor designed fuel pump. But, go ahead and drink the koolaid and be a fan boy. Ford loves you.
