This is the most beautiful conversation about TOOL. Yes, you’re confused, you’re moved to strong emotions, you go on journeys. The “going deeper” makes it a wonderful journey. Years and years of amazing art in their music and all the puzzles, jokes, and spiritual references for you to experience! Each member of the band is critical to creating these! You can follow Maynard through his other art for different styles of experiences as well with Puscifer and A Perfect Circle. ❤🤘🎧🎸🎧
"I don't even want to figure it out because I like it like that." Perfect! The songs get better the more I listen then the layers sink in. Tool gives you more to process which makes for a better song. The difference between a full-course meal vs. a side of fries. Welcome, my friends! You two are the best.
Being nervous or anxious while first diving into Tool is the norm, they make you think differently but thats just their pure genius. Would love to see yall give Vicarious a spin!
Perhaps the greatest TooL message and Maynard at his finest "Recognize this (life) as a Holy Gift and celebrate the chance to be Alive and Breathing" There is no band like TooL and may never be......
The Holy Trinity should be your next Tool journey, it's 3 songs but really just one and need to be played together. Disposition-Reflection-Triad, in that order. They've been my favorite band for 3 decades and I haven't found a bad song yet! You guys are just scratching the surface of the emotional rollercoaster that is Tool!
hahaha That's the whole point about Tool, it is impossible to figure it out at the first listening, and I would say even after 100 times after ahha Every time the words, the tone, the music will give you a different interpretation and feeling! I have rediscovered Tool songs again, years later, because now, suddenly, the meaning that gets to me is different or deeper or ... There are always clues hidden everywhere. And yes, I would say, don't expect to understand all their videos because they are difficult to interpret, so yes, just go with the music and enjoy the ride, and you will be able to focus on the video another time 🤩😍😇
I don’t know if this will put you at ease or infuriate you, but even after listening to tool for 20+ years, I still haven’t figured it out and find something new with each listen. So don’t be too hard on yourself 😉 It’s been said by so many people, but it’s more an experience than anything else. And being such a visceral experience, it will feel different and you will see and hear different things depending on your state and what life is looking like for you at the time. It will forever continue to evolve the more you listen.
Im a fan Tool over 17 years, its always when I listnig a song for a 1000 time im discovery something new...plz reaction to Tool Invincible, Jambi and Vicarius... Sorry for my English. Greedings from Poland...🪬🪬🐻🐾 Grat Job you 2
TOOL... Spiral out... keep going. Yes, Tool videos generally, in my opinion, just confuse and distract you from the song. Good to go back to later and watch, but not during the first listen. This Parabol/Parabola track is one of my favorites from them. The message is so powerful... we're here, in these bodies, right now in this moment. so LIVE. Do LIFE. Yes there are ups and downs. But all of this we're currently experiencing is a facade, perceived as if in a mirror dimly. We're eternal spiritual beings and this will all be over in a blink. So choose to be present in this holy experience.
To me it's a song about appreciating what you have. This opportunity that you've been given. You're alive, you have the capacity to be what you want. What you do with that is on you, but just cherish this existence that you have.
lol, I love seeing you not knowing anything about what is going on but loving it just in the first stop haha between Parabol and Parabola, when the song is about to come full explosion on! Can't wait to see the rest, but had to say this! 🤩🤣🤗
I'm completely in love with Dominika, and you're ok too Andrei. 😉 Keep up the awesome work for all the existential thinkers out there. And yes, the best bands IMO take time and effort to understand...Tool, Radiohead, Pink Floyd etc., and will keep you thinking 20+ years after the first hearing.
I dont know how to turn my subtitles on you tube, but Tool is fun to watch with subtitles on. They try to make words out of the guitars and drums. Rewatch this one with subtitles on. Too funny. Took me a second to realize it wasn't you talking. Not just this song, all of them. Rosetta Stoned is hilarious with subtitles. lolol yall take care and enjoy.
Actually what you heard are 2 songs, not just one. They are Parabol and Parabola. Much better this way since, as you will have understood, they are attached and must be listened to together. If you had taken any video of Parabola from UA-cam, everyone would have flooded you with comments saying that a piece is missing etc. Excellent as always!
As a 25+ year member of the Tool Army, I welcome you. This journey will change your lives forever! Just subscribed for more Tool! Also, before this video I watched you react to Corey Taylor. I’m also a longtime Maggot (Slipknot fan) and I can’t wait for more of them! This will be fun!
As with anything, if you wish to understand, you must start at the beginning. For Tool the beginning was in 1992 with their first ep Opiate. Although typically shorter and less 'complex' than the subsequent records, every track is still very much tool, a bit of a young and angry Tool but you'll recognize them for sure. If you really wish to understand Tool, its best to listen to them in the order they were released album wise as well as in order on the albums, be ready for some interesting and strange interlude songs if you choose to discover Tool this way.
It’s like meditation…some people can’t do it because they don’t like being alone in silence …alone in their head. Totally understand but that’s why they made this music. So you can feel something new…with new experiences create new pathways in your brain. Opens up new doors within you
The symbol wasn't a pentagram (which is 5 pointed) - this is a heptagram - 7 points. Commonly a symbol for warding off evil - but has lots of other meanings.
12:58 - Because this is two songs.. "Parabol" and "Parabola".. "Parabol" is the quiet, meditation part in the beginning and "Parabola" starts when the song "hits" you. :) But you are doing just fine.. Just enjoy the trip you are getting from TOOL. :)
There is no point in trying to decipher TOOL, as they are one of a kind, and they are amazing! They have over 30 years of music, I suggest listening to all of their songs and READ the lyrics, you will look at things differently, it's just brilliant music and artistry!
One thing to note, the official videos for Tool are not related to the songs. One of the band members like to make videos and they were told they had to make something for MTV to show. The videos are just art.
8:07 - You two should start from the beginning... From the "Opiate" EP and then go to the "Undertow" album, then to "AEnema" album, then "Lateralus" album then "10.000 days" album, then to the "Fear Inoculum" album and last to the 30th anniversary version of the song "Opiate".. Go through song-by-song and hear the evolution of this band. :D
To me, its the story from creation to enlightenment. The crackling sounds in the intro, the little circles, warping back into themselves, creating little rings, that also seem alive (because they have little branch like things): the very fabric of space time is created, atoms, molecules. We zoom out, and see its actually the floor, the basis, or reality. Then the three godlike creatures appear. They represent imho the same deities as the three creatures in 'zeit': the Norns, who shape humanity, the tree of life. They cut an apple: and it evolves. 5 star. Single cells. 6 star. Animals. 7 star. Humans. Then the many hands of your ancestors open the curtains. Pull you inside out. You are born. Part 2. In part two we meet a little pet like animal, and a human. The human detects the tree of life sprouting out of nothing. The human goes to the table, and looks inside himself. Cells. Things growing. His two sides mirroring themselves as they create each other. He detects the black ball. I think each ball represents a year of being 'awake', conscious, a measure of time. When its only one: it seems light. He can stroke it. Nothing happens. While the human watches reality outside (of his body, his brain, his house), his little pet buddy is struck down by time. This upsets the human. His first idea is to fight time. To fear death. But he stops doing that. He cuts open his pet friend, very gently, to see where his 'life' is. Is it in the tubes? No. All the tubes are there. He then walks the world, alone. And finds a leaf. Then. He realizes. He looks at the leaf. And finds out where its life comes from. It is the background consciousness, that is everywhere. We only think we are, because our cells keep up that illusion. And cells are not real, they are just kept up by the countless molecules keeping up that illusion. So where is our consciousness coming from. From the background. Imagine people being tubes, with a membrane on one side, and open to the other, pointing to a light source. We are born a circle, and the tube grows over time: displaying our lives on the membrane. We think this consciousness is unique to our inside. It is not. It is universal. God is looking at the universe: thru our eyes. There is no such thing as 'ego', as you and I. We are all One.
you'd paused at the exact time when Eve was born.. i've my own interpretation of these songs (parabol+parabola).. i think parabol is Adam, he's sad and passive without Eve, and that's why Eve comes (parabolA with the female postfix A at the end).. so when it switches to parabolA, he's getting much energy and they both become active and energetic.. but the birth of Eva was painful, that's why there's "..the pain is an illusion.." during that process.. and that's why there was "..this body holding me.." on the other side, parabol and parabolA are two geometric curves that each opposite to other.. when y1=extremum1 the other y2=extremum-1 and together they fullfills all the area.. in other hand they're yin & yang.. may i'm overthinking and overanalyzing it, but this is just some philosophical stuff for me.. Thanks for your reaction.. keep up.. spiral out !!
Most always best to forego Tool videos as others have said here in the comments. They are very distracting to the composition a whole, even for a lot of very seasoned listeners! Now, please do more TOOL soon...Official audio versions only for the 1st listen will net you the best results in most all cases..LOL
This is not only a song but an existential experience. Truly a masterpiece.
So cool to see people introduced to Tool. You guys looked mesmerized.
Uffff simplemente gracias !!!!!!

Perfect! The songs get better the more I listen then the layers sink in. Tool gives you more to process which makes for a better song. The difference between a full-course meal vs. a side of fries. Welcome, my friends! You two are the best.
Truly, love your TOOL reactions! Love your personalities! Wish you all the very best!
I'm obsessed with this song. "All this pain is an illusion." Can't hear that enough.
Being nervous or anxious while first diving into Tool is the norm, they make you think differently but thats just their pure genius. Would love to see yall give Vicarious a spin!
Tool, good surround sound, alone in the dark, perfect.
“I got it, I got it, I got it! No, I lost it” 😂😂
Fucking LOVE you guys 🙌🏻
Like Chunk from The Goonies with the water canister in the basement of the Fratellis - 'I got, I got, I got...I don't got it'!
The depth of Tool's music and their unique sound and talent makes them a band that will transcend time.
Listen, I've been a fan of Tool for 30 years, and you don't have to worry about understand or getting it. Just feel it. Let it transport you.
I completely agree brother, TOOL just takes you on a ride. He's saying our bodies are temporary and our spirits live forever
Perhaps the greatest TooL message and Maynard at his finest
"Recognize this (life) as a Holy Gift and celebrate the chance to be Alive and Breathing"
There is no band like TooL and may never be......
You 2 are my favorite reactors out of all of them
🌀🌀🌀🧘🧘🧘🙏🙏🙏 Thank you so much for Tool!
Danny, Adam & Justin make the songs first, and then somehow Maynard puts the words to each song to match. Amazing!
Tool is Legendary!
Thanks!
The Holy Trinity should be your next Tool journey, it's 3 songs but really just one and need to be played together. Disposition-Reflection-Triad, in that order.

12:03 "Its a little bit different Tool what we already heard from TOOL, because usually, or before with THE TOOL." Priceless 😂😂😂
Priceless.
I agree, watching the videos is too distracting for first listens.
Love this song...hearing it live was amazing!
Thank you for sharing your experience & emotions with us! 🤘🏻🌀
FYI, I love this reaction, I laughed my face off
Fully enjoying watching your Tool journey!

No other band like Tool. I like their songs w/o videos so as to focus on the great music and singing.
It's like they're not just four people making music... they become something else, called tool.
Just
To me it's a song about appreciating what you have. This opportunity that you've been given. You're alive, you have the capacity to be what you want. What you do with that is on you, but just cherish this existence that you have.
I love your puppy in the background!
We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion.
You made sense. The first part of the song is very introspective. It leaves you with your thoughts. The second half let’s you get lost in it.
perfect analogy
Hey guys... just relax and enjoy the ride... don't try to figure it out... ❤
lol, I love seeing you not knowing anything about what is going on but loving it just in the first stop haha between Parabol and Parabola, when the song is about to come full explosion on! Can't wait to see the rest, but had to say this! 🤩🤣🤗
great job you guys
I love your reaction……Tool isn’t just music, it’s an experience. ❤ it !!!

You guys just fell into the TOOL rabbit hole!🤘
I dont know how to turn my subtitles on you tube, but Tool is fun to watch with subtitles on. They try to make words out of the guitars and drums. Rewatch this one with subtitles on. Too funny. Took me a second to realize it wasn't you talking. Not just this song, all of them. Rosetta Stoned is hilarious with subtitles. lolol yall take care and enjoy.
Love this video. The ending reveal the third eye. Many Tool song relate to this. The perception, awareness and spiritual communication 🖐️

Definitely check out more Tool, they are the best band I've ever seen live! Also consider checking out the band Polyphia- GOAT, it's really cool.
I really appreciate and enjoy your Tool reactions, more Tool please 😊
You guys are fucking awesome.
That’s good
Brave reacting to the official video...... embrace the chaos
20:20 - Welcome to the Tool Army. :D
Tool is very personal
the song express a very deep concept philosophical and metaphisical, for some even religious
You should also hear mynards other bands. A perfect circel and Puscifer. TY for you work. Greating from Denmark.
As with anything, if you wish to understand, you must start at the beginning.

"It makes you feel" ...and that's enough, I think.
One of my favorites from Tool! What a great song! Lateralus would be a great song to react to after this song.🌀🌀
Been a TOOl fan for many years , the music is so good I've given up trying to understand some of the lyrics :)
“Spiral Out Keep Going” 🌀🌀🌀🌀
👁
If you can feel it……..
You get it…….. 🌀🌀🌀
It’s like meditation…some people can’t do it because they don’t like being alone in silence …alone in their head. Totally understand but that’s why they made this music. So you can feel something new…with new experiences create new pathways in your brain. Opens up new doors within you

Dude yall are awesome!
This song is a masterpiece
Tool paints with music.
Saludos chile!!
👍👍👍👍👍
They write all the music then send it to the lead singer he listens to it then writes the lyrics!!! Then his voice is like another instrument.
Lyrics AND MELODY!
@@ogLogLogLogL Yep, very important, cannot be overstated how important the melody is to their music!
Thank you very much for this reaction. Please The Grudge, studio version its amazing Tool song too
Video was made by Adam Jones, the guitarist
Appreciate their Honesty. They just need to relax and empty their minds of negative thoughts .
12:58 - Because this is two songs.. "Parabol" and "Parabola".. "Parabol" is the quiet, meditation part in the beginning and "Parabola" starts when the song "hits" you. :)
But you are doing just fine.. Just enjoy the trip you are getting from TOOL. :)
21:00 - Hey! I can relate to the difficulties of expressing my feelings and thoughts.. But that does not mean you are stupid!
Wait till You hear "46&2"😝😁
There is no point in trying to decipher TOOL, as they are one of a kind, and they are amazing! They have over 30 years of music, I suggest listening to all of their songs and READ the lyrics, you will look at things differently, it's just brilliant music and artistry!

You have not done tool until you react to Lateralus, in my opinion one of the best songs ever written
Guys I would always say just listen to Tool without the video, it is to overwhelming for the first time.
To perfectly describe what this song is about you have to check out a book called “power of now”.
The more you listen to a TOOL song, the more you'll understand. Patience. TOOL was not built in a day....
you'd paused at the exact time when Eve was born..
i've my own interpretation of these songs (parabol+parabola)..
i think parabol is Adam, he's sad and passive without Eve, and that's why Eve comes (parabolA with the female postfix A at the end).. so when it switches to parabolA, he's getting much energy and they both become active and energetic..
but the birth of Eva was painful, that's why there's "..the pain is an illusion.." during that process.. and that's why there was "..this body holding me.."
on the other side, parabol and parabolA are two geometric curves that each opposite to other.. when y1=extremum1 the other y2=extremum-1 and together they fullfills all the area..
in other hand they're yin & yang..
may i'm overthinking and overanalyzing it, but this is just some philosophical stuff for me..
Thanks for your reaction.. keep up.. spiral out !!
If I saw you two someplace I would assume you're into Tool lol.
you asked how to describe this.... call it art?😃
Their music is based in Path of the Kabbalah Tree. Understanding Kabbalah and you’ll understand Tool.
Most always best to forego Tool videos as others have said here in the comments. They are very distracting to the composition a whole, even for a lot of very seasoned listeners! Now, please do more TOOL soon...Official audio versions only for the 1st listen will net you the best results in most all cases..LOL
Fun part is trying to get it
