This was very good and I see why Tool has a hardcore following. Excellent music and the kind of stuff that can withstand the test of time.

Now that your Tool journey has begun, there will be no turning back. 🤘 Spiral out, keep going. . .

@@notimportant3686 spiral out.
@Not Important sorry I had too... I mean, you said you were going to vomit, who doesn't want to make someone vomit?

Spiral out!
Tool Army!! Now that you're hooked, enjoy the ride! So jealous!! Wish I could hear them for the 1st time all over again!! Looking forward to more!! 🖤
..................................................tool army est.1993............................................................
Sandy's instinctual appreciation for music for its own sake, tho
Love your reactions, guys.
It was so fun watching her act out and discuss how I feel about Tool's music.
Thank you so much 😊❤️
This song came out in 2006, Tools discography goes back to the early 90s. Their latest album, Fear Inoculum, was released in the fall of 2019. The Pot is one of their more accessible songs and the song the lead singer (Maynard James Keenen) recommends as an introduction to their music. Tool is noted for their complex use of poly meters and poly rhythms and seamless transitions. Your comment about being taken for a ride is just a small glimpse into the ride ahead. Perhaps a little deeper dive would give you a glimmer of what this band has to offer. My suggestions would be, Lateralus (the title song from the album), Parabol/Parabola ( absolutely must be played together) or Pnuema, off their latest album. Buckle up...you're in for a hellava trip. Subbed for further content. ✌🤘🤘
👋
@@floridabelle , hey girl. Did you go get your fix when they made their sweep thru Fl.?
@@jeffmatthews6672 No. I don't travel, plus I wouldn't have had funds anyway. That's okay though.. I'm content with reactions, etc.
I had a friend who was singing sober in 1987 he knew the members before they were famous and gave me a tape of undertow before it was undertow
@@sandraweilbrenner67 in 1987 it was called "Burn About Out" and it was not made by Tool
i think an essential place to start is their 1993 performance of sober. ( pro shot) it really shows them from very early in their career and the lead singer( maynard)'s performance is bone chilling.
jc dobbs 1992 is better.
At the Reading Festival. An iconic performance.
Nah its quite a basic song tbh not that interesting. Don't get why it gets so much hype. It has the standard structure that most radio songs have which is unlike most of tool's music.
@@Heatwave9000 just shows their history and the lyrics are honestly beautiful in that song. Also the performance shows how into the music Maynard gets.
First time I ever listened to this song I wouldn’t stop playing it for hours. It feels like a rollercoaster ride or like every single instrument is singing a part or telling a part of a story.
Pro tip: bring it back 10 or so seconds after a pause
the lyrics are a must to have when listening.
They’re touring currently. Just get a ticket because their both amazing and old. If you already appreciate this just go. You will have a blast.
Tool is a journey. Just sit back and enjoy the experience but then go back and read/breakdown the lyrics.
I cant think of any artist that can so seamlessly transition in their music through so many different grooves and rhythms.
jinjer
I absolutely love seeing people discover them for the first time. Enjoy the ride!
we got another 2 folks! nice seeing you guys just soaking it in on your first listen with little pausing. The way she was picking up on all the beat and time switches she's gonna really enjoy the ride. cant wait to see more reactions!
Y’all are most likely about to discover TOOL and I’m here to watch and love it lol🤘🏼🌀
That deep breath at the end of the music...
Subbed for more Tool reactions
There are very few filler tracks in the catalog, and no bad songs. That said, here's a brief primer to help you tune your song selection whatever the hell it might be (choose your own adventure):
Opiate - basic, primal, good...angry, no fucks given Tool (remember when you were 19? yeah, this is like that...)
Undertow - 90's sound, 90's ambience, 90's darkness and angst
Aenima - Tool begins to emerge from the Jungian shadow to hold a mirror up to mass consciousness (Not kidding, this is real_)
Lateralus - Early 2000's Tool...more musical complexity than before...the themes are monastic like a spiritual becoming
10,000 Days - Lead singer takes you through a culminating narrative themed around the illness and death of his mother (and some cool shit along the way)
Fear Innoculum - Antidote to fear, getting old, looking back, looking forward, stepping above the game...13 years between 10,000 days and F.I. so fans were steaming at the ears waiting for this one...I think it was unlike anything fans ever heard before, but also the most developed version of the band (they're at their best musicianship)
I think their THEMES pivot around Aenima, their musicianship around Lateralus, and their SOUND around 10,000 Days...The Pot was from 10,000 Days.
Great breakdown off the different albums, it's amazing to see how much their sound changed and progressed with each album. I think i prefer Aenima for individual songs, but 10,000 as a complete collection is probably my favorite album. But honestly it's hard to pick a favorite since they are all so great/amazing albums in their own right.
Yeah, about sums up and is as to the point as possible
Tool is something else. Watchong them live not long time ago made me realize what music should be all about.
I subscribed because you guy heard Tool for the first time. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it. They are the best band of all time. Get a blindfold, a dart, and throw it at a wall of Tool songs and you will land on a masterpiece. Keep with the studio tracks, avoid videos for now, and pull up lyrics. Try Lateralus, my favorite
Enjoyed your reaction I love watching tool fans being born. There is so much more from tool to explore, looking forward to more reactions
Loved how Sandy had her hand over her heart through most of this tune and how she then analyzed it. Looking forward to more TOOL!
The young lady was paying attention. Thk u for your reaction, mam.
The only band that still plays this talented with the best drummer in the world today.
She totally got it...great reaction you two
TOOL ARMY! Welcome to the fold you two. One of my greatest joys in life is watching people discover TOOL. You two have barely scratched the surface. I look forward to more TOOL reactions from you two. Your brain will never be the same from here on. Spiral out! 🌀🤘🏻🎧
Welcome to tool world guys! I'm happy to see new faces to experience the tool journey! Keep going and be careful with the videos, it makes you focus to them and sometimes you ignore the music, they are so trippy. for me you should listen to: vicarious, aenema, the grudge, invincible, 10.000 days
Viola, TOOL fans! Welcome to the Army. 👍🏽🤘🏽
Subbed to watch this journey. 😁
Please do more Tool reactions!! The Tool Army will join you on your journey.
If you like music that takes you on a ride, and a journey, and that is a rich tapestry of interconnecting layers, then Tool's your band.
Nasty groove-TOOL doesn't mess around, and in concert they don't let up either.
The journey that you have now started will forever change your outlook on music. The "experience" that TOOL will take you on, if you let it, is the greatest experience you will ever get from music. They are geniuses at transferring emotion and feeling through their music. Congrats on your first TOOL experience hopefully there are many more to come. From a 20 year TOOL fan to a 20 hour TOOL fan, "welcome to the TOOL army".
The Tool Paradox: Every Tool song is better than every other Tool song.
You have no idea what you've gotten into. TOOL does not have a bad song. Greatest band ever!
TOOL is an EXPERIENCE !!!
Every song is a journey …
Songs within songs within songs. That's Tool for you and nobody does it better. Enjoy the ride!
This song is just scratching the surface of Tool's music. Everything you loved about this song is in all the other music they have. Greatest band ever in my mind. And many others.
“Wow”! Exactly.
Try 46& 2
Excellent analysis. Like your reaction. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦🤗
Check out Lateralus guys. The title track is good. I suggest digging into lyric videos as well.
Welcome to the Tool Army.
Great reaction. You guys rock
Saw them 2x last week live. Amazing and yes they did this both nights.
TOOL = Genius = I think you got it!
Tool will take you on a long epic journey that will take your breath away ,pay attention to the lyrics as well because
it is a part of life that some of us Tool fans have experienced!..😎
Great review & reaction you two ,may your journey begin!..👍👍
TOOL ARMY will come if you join the family.
Many commentators will suggest songs, but I implore you to be patient, and delve into TOOL, at your own pace….They’re discography isn’t that daunting, but it’s replete with “quality”….Take your time, and enjoy the best band of the last 30 years…High marks, for the “limited” stoppages!
Best band around these days. No question about it. Keep going, you will find out. Sub for more TOOL to come. Try "The Grudge" and pull up some lyrics, deep shit.
TOOL IS FOREVER
I suggest you listen to all of TOOL's music, because there will never be another band like them, I'm a HUGE TOOL fan!!! LOVE IT!
Tool is their own genre
Tool Army welcomes you. Keep it up
Can’t wait to see more reactions from y’all! Spiral out 🌀
She has such a great reaction. and is spot on!!!! I love TOOL, but Maynard's OTHER band, A Perfect Circle is my FAVE band of all time.
How dare you? ;)
She absolutely gets it🖤Hitting subscribe now! I was finally able to see them in January after 20+ years of LOVING them and got to see them do this one live. There are no words that can even describe the experience. Tool is literal perfection! Every time I listen to them now since the concert, which is A LOT, I get full body chills and it takes me right back. They actually sound even better live which is crazy. Aenima will always be my #1. Have to check out his other 2 bands, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer! Then every song he has ever done a cameo on is a must!! Deftones 'Passenger' feat Maynard is another favorite! Just plan on doing every single song they've ever made or had a part in and call it a day!
Great reaction!
The birth of new TOOL fans never gets old.
Here's my contribution... 1) Maynard DOES NOT "suffer from stage fright'" he sings from a position behind the guitars and next to the drummer, either left or right, because it produces the best results when performing live (his own words paraphrased) I don't know what braindead started the "performance anxiety/stage fright"nonsense, but it's exactly that - nonsense
2) if you come to an opinion that a TOOL song is about **insert whatever here** then ok great, yr right 100%. The comment from xXredditLORDXx that says the song is all about something completely different...despite the tragedy of humanity that xXredditLORDXx most assuredly is, they are also 100% spot on with their song analysis. TOOL's music is purpose built to inspire people to think...to think for themselves...form there own views and build their own understanding........or they can just hear it playing while they paint their toes and chew gum...you know, like it's whatever
3) Yes, the drummer, Danny Carey, is the baddest mother fucker on the planet. He's a drum god, an enigma, he's the shit and it hurts my brain to contemplate his talent. There, I said it. I love all of you who will ever read this and go fuck yourself
Welcome to the family. 😊
She gets it ! Soo cool ! We need more "shes" in the world ! Just clicked subscribe!
Listen to Eulogy, or stinkfist, these are older songs but you will enjoy the music.
Or if you you want to dive right in lol do the Grudge ! Grudge Grudge Grudge! Just do it.
The grudge. Nice reaction By the way
Great reaction! Do more tool! You just gained a sub :)
There’s a band around now, that can do this, just saw them in Boston. There called Tool. 😃
You have to check out “The Patient,” or “The Grudge! And keep an ear out for the lyrics too. I know it’s a lot to take in, but it will add to the experience. Cheers!
You want layers.......start with The Grudge
Love these ! If you do Pneuma, make sure it's to Danny's live drum performance it's just incredible show of talent
Check out 46&2- its all about Jungian philosophy but sonically complex!!
Love your wife's comments and her reactions! I don't know if you've reacted to TOOL's song Lateralus yet but before you do, please watch this first. It will blow you both away: ua-cam.com/video/uOHkeH2VaE0/v-deo.html
Now here is the song Lateralus:
ua-cam.com/video/Ew939Ap0KaE/v-deo.html
As a long time Tool fan I enjoyed the reaction!
Yes.... Fine art but in music! A perfect description of Tool's music.
Tool creates music compositions.
This song is from the album 10,000 Days which was released in 2006.
Their latest album dropped in 2019, fear inoculum, and I would highly recommend to check out either Invincible or 7empest.
The one thing great about this bleak world, Tool is still making next dimension music.
More tool!!
And the Army grows
If you will embark the Tool journey, I would suggest you go from Undertow -> AEnema -> Lateralus -> 10000 days -> Fear Inoculum, oldest to newest. That's almost 30 years of developement in their music. :)
Please discover more Tool, they're sound is eargasmic.
6.17 = welcome to the Tool Army !! 🫂
Next reaction DeadSquad - The Black Triangle.🤘🏻
I am envious of you two...you get to take the journey for the first time with all their music. Nothing short of genius each of the four members are true masters. Since you wondered if there was another band like them? No. Maybe a little Pink Floyd mixed with Zep and King Crimson. I suggest hearing a newer song first off Fear Innoculum (Pneuma, Descending) and then go back to the roots with any song.
she is singing twice song in the beginning before listening to tool hahah
Check out the official video for Polyphia's song G.O.A.T. for a more contemporary band making some cutting edge music.
Check out tool, Lateralus, off the album Lateralus, you’ll love it 😉
More 🛠T⚙️⚙️L🛠 reactions 🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tool is a very cool band👍
Here for the tool reacts
More Tool!

I'm all 'bout that bass....
Careful down the rabbit 🐰 hole, i went in when they first came out 👽👁👽
Welcome to Tool.
RIght in Two. Same album. Read the lyrics as you react. You won't find a lot of music that takes you places like that song. Yes, many others are great too: Lateralus, 46 & 2, Schism. But I beg you to react to "Right in Two"
They won a Grammy for #7empest, a 15:43 m/s song, in 2020.
I subscribe for Tool!!
you need to listen to Tempest ... that is gonna blow your mind
"cool"
i love it xD
Not sure if You can handle Rosetta Stoned by Tool.🤣🤣🤣
You might not think about life the same🤣
But it's a MUST you listen to Lost Keys 1st- Its a 2 part song.
Tool - Right in two
Or
Tool - Pneuma
Enjoy going down the Tool rabbit hole. 😃✌️
It's even more genius if you concentrate on the clever lyrics. It boils down to the pot calling the kettle black/hypocrisy.
Welcome aboard, enjoy your spiral…
Welcome... get ready for the Tool Army (fan base) to invade your comments. Need to hit "46&2" "H." "The Patient"
