Those sounds that you were creating with those three techniques were literally causing me to become emotional. What a beautiful combination of sounds! Thank you Mr Prehn for sharing so altruistically!
Oliver Prehn you are beyond awesome! Over the last year I've seen a 1000 piano tutorials and none have been as impactful as this one. This is a life changer in my personal little world of piano playing : ) Thank you so much.
Sir i’ve been following you since last year. You’re one of the best teacher i found on youtube so far, everything is clear and well explained. Thank you so much for your time and patience.
Nothing better than some well-placed chromatic notes. It just conveys this imperfect and sad emotion. I love when it´s used in Jazz, and I love when Chopin use it in classical music.
Thanks Oliver. Some nice mixing of techniques that gives me ideas for some blues oriented improv I'm working on. Also the walking base goes nice with this as well.
This is by far the most interesting piece of musical theory I have ever come to. I shall use this in my song writing experiences. You have just introduced me to the black keys, that I was having trouble implementing into songs. Thank you Oliver.
This is absolutely perfect! Thank you for taking the time and patience to make these videos. I always wondered what goes through a musician’s head (even in the background) while they play. This is exactly the sort of thing I’ve been looking for. Excellent!!
Increíble Simplemente se escucha relajante, tremendo eres un gran maestro. Ya quisiera tocar con todo pero aún empiezo en este mundo y estoy aprendiendo de tí bastante, Gracias.
What I learn from you, I can apply at all levels, it's not just about music or playing the piano ... It's about access to people's hearts and their attention. Awaken the amazement of the inner child ... To experience wonderful joy and to share this experience authentically, that is your true art and gift and urge. Please drive carefully and save your precious time for hopefully more of your wonderful lessons! I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas time from the bottom of my heart!
Trying my best! Still cannot do the same, but I have been enjoying my self! And new more melodic sounds coming out! Oliver your lessons are so understandable and are taught in an exelent manner!
Dear Oliver, thank you a lot for your lessons….may be I have a new chance to learn to play without notes….😘 please can you teach a main song with the 251 kadenz….. I would be very happy.….🤗
Hi :) In this playlist you’ll find a collection of lessons all about the same chord progression; a sequence of descending fifths taken from the song Autumn Leaves. Each lesson shows different improvisation techniques we can use on the progression. ua-cam.com/play/PLd8gNAxPUcJzqwqL21s9NExEKpk14bglb.html Cheers from Oliver
Hi Oliver, when you play longer Lines then 3-Note Lines in Row, with no repeated Notes (e.g. f, f#, g, g#), what would you recomment: 1. to play the g with the middle-finger! and the g# with the index-finger. or 2. to play with the g with the dump! and the g# with the index-finger. --------------------- Are there some more Rules the you explained? That is not realy obvious for me exactly in the Vid. Maybe i oversee something.. Thank you Oliver so mutch for all the absolutely phantastic Lessons!! I hope you have fine
Hi and thanks a lot and a really good question :) I would probably do the g with the thumb - but you can do both. But mostly I would do the note repetitions (it seems so natural when doing hand grips) so that we do not 'just' play chromatic up and down, but we have these rhythmic and melodic "clasps" that breaks the expected course. Cheers from Oliver
Hi :) I’m more into "just playing", improvising, creating "NewJazz" rather than playing some of the old songs. I really hope that’s ok with you… By the way, in this playlist I have gathered some of my music if you should be interested: ua-cam.com/play/PLd8gNAxPUcJyXS3nFg47C-yKPHEIXctjc.html Cheers from Oliver
Hi and thank you so much :) I do not believe that there is any fixed A-Z path to follow when learning music. You can 'attack' music from any angle. The most important thing is to do something that you really enjoy. More about that in this lesson (taking a walk in the forest): ua-cam.com/video/a735i7FZlmI/v-deo.html But anyway, I've made this playlist with a suggested order: ua-cam.com/play/PLd8gNAxPUcJw1DmmWooCWx_jgKzgBfYGp.html But feel free to make diversions at any time... Cheers from Oliver
Hi :) I've replaced it with a "Kawai VPC1". Just one singe button; on/off. But extremely good keys. What more do you need haha. But it's quite more expensive than the SL88. The SL88 have served me well for many years ;) Cheers from Oliver
Hi :) I'm not sure that my Google translator works correctly, but if you're asking for private lessons I'm so sorry because I don't give any. I try to use all my efforts on the free public videos on this NewJazz channel. I really hope that you understand. A new video is uploaded approximately every month... Cheers from Oliver
@@NewJazz God bless you very much and thank you very much for the effort you make to help people like me who play in the church and we want a better way of playing. God bless you very much I would like you to play a video holding {thank you notes} ✓
The key question is that we have to know exactly where we are in the harmonic progression, and this is my problem...I have a bassist who play I-IV-V-I and I have to know where he is...
Hi :) When playing the walking bass; in the last note before a new chord I play either a half step above or below the next chord key note. Cheers from Oliver
You're gonna change my life. Thank you so much
