great points that even go beyond "work talk." Like at the crux of this, "being flirtacious" or "flirting with an idea" is an ask, "is there something here?" It could be directed with intent, like flirting with the intent of dating or with the intent of making a friend. At networking events, we're all on a fishing trip to find people who have similar or complementary mental proclivities to ours. And it's hard to overtly communicate that it doesn't have romantic overtones, because when dating we do similar dances around ideas. In speech, i think one way to draw the line is staying centered topically on the real-world goals and projects you're interested in, and not delving too deep into who you are as a person or who they are as a person. Really cuts down the intensity and the vulnerability which leads to emotionality. Body language (e.g. eye contact, positioning, touch) is another big one that can't be overlooked, like y'all mentioned. good stuff to think about for less stress!
Justin was great and did a fab job but I’m VERY happy Jess is back! You’ve got nothing to fear Jess… we love you!!!! I need to go find her solo episode and the one with her boyfriend! How did I miss those?? Thanks for posting the ending. Love the podcast but like it better on UA-cam so I can see your beautiful faces and see all the expressions and fabulous body language 😊
Man I thought this was going to be actual networking tips haha. Interesting convo but I do wish it didn't turn into relationships and flirting right away. Like I need socially awkard person tips to network at work events where things are 10000% platonic.

Yay! Thanks for the ending...such suspense!
I'm turning 28 this year, and I've never networked or know what it is.
I'm so unemployable 😂
