Tip for your swimming - from a swimmer. You have your fingers open when you pull so you're not catching the water to pull you through. You need to cup your hands slightly. You're also starting your front crawl under the water when you push off which is making it harder on yourself. Dolphin kick until you break the surface then start your arms :)
The reflection at the end was really interesting!! I totally relate to feeling overwhelmed with choices and battling myself when trying to figure out what to eat or what I want/should eat
i was wondering why you were making these videos, and i thought the injury recovery was the reason, but i appreciated the confession part in the end. You seem on a good path with your eating - I think the whole community is glad with that :)
I really enjoyed you doing this type of video :) I am glad that following what someone else is eating helps you think less about food that is great and I hope that you continue to do videos like this and stay strong in ED recovery because you are doing awesome!!! You inspire me all the time :) I follow stephanie and I think her content is amazing!!! I actually think that you're a pretty good swimmer :)
Loved that luscious green pancake footage with burst berry compote. YUM. OATY. So glad you found joy in swimming. FYI I bought a hot water pot to make green tea in the mornings instead of coffee. It remains unboxed.
Loved this video, Allie! I hadn't been introduced to Stephanie prior to this, so thank you for bringing her content into my life 😊I can't possibly criticize your swimming because mine is no better, but what I always appreciate about you is that you show just how much work (and sweat!) goes into a good workout. Interesting thoughts at the end about the simplicity of just eating what someone else (with a healthy diet) eats, it really can take the anxiety out of planning your own meals! P.S. I wouldn't hire Ari as your personal swimming motivator any time soon, haha 😁
Allie, I am really impressed, you are a very good runner but you are really a very good athlete, period. I have seen you cycling great in these videos and now swimming really well. Very impressive......best regards.
I will never watch the fitness model's channel.... but i think it's great what you are doing. So fun. Always a fan allie. Love love love you so much!!!
Three swim tips! 1) It looks like you swim with open hands and spread out fingers. Try to mimic the paddle and keep your fingers close together. Try to think about it, but still keep your hands smooth and loose and not totally rigid. 2) It also looks like your push off the wall is pretty deep which can be really exhausting! Really strong swimmers/kickers do this, but I wouldn't recommend for someone just starting out. If you try to push off closer to the surface you'll have a stronger breakout and be able to breath sooner. 3) Runners struggle with ankle flexion while kicking. Try to think about the toe/ankle exercises you do already and incorporate them in your whole kick and you'll find more speed there.
Allie! I love how fun and casual you make running look even as a pro! You are a breath of fresh air! Also, I decided to buy LMNT from the link in your bio for extra summer electrolytes! I hope you are rich now! 🤑
haha thank you! I actually am so rich now that I'm buying a private jet and will come thank you in person ;) but really, thank you for the support and enjoy those electrolytes!

I think your training went awsome. You swam perfectly fine you were moving pritty fast in the water im sure the swimming got you think about summer is right around the corner. Have a great weekend

Aww love this! & can relate so much to all the cross training due to pretty big injury right now :(( I've also been doing a good amount of swimming. I can def relate in really dreading/hating swimming in the beginning, but after I've adapted a little, I do feel good afterwards. Crazy how it just takes a little push/motivation to get started and it turns out not so bad. Don't get me wrong, I CANT WAIT until I can run again, but for now, I'll relate with all the x-training that you do
Getting started is definitely the hardest part with cross training! It's just not as alluring of an activity as running... But good job to you for pushing through and getting that work in!

Keep up your extended arm when swimming, rather than the Ferris wheel motion, it’ll help heaps! A good drill you can try is the “catch up” drill. You touch each hand before you move the arm.
Glad to know that Allie, a professional runner, also despises swimming as much as me. Yes I *know* it’s great crosstraining, will I keep avoiding it like the plague? Yes 😂 A woman of the people, truly.
I honestly think that swimming is lower down on the best cross training forms list. I would rank it below elliptical, biking, and aqua jogging just because it's a less similar motion to running!

Allie , you are so sweet and funny! And your workouts are amazing! I do HIIT on my exercise bike 3 times a week, and I do 6 x 30 secs with 90 secs. recovery in between. How you do 20 x 1 min. is beyond me. God bless you, and I wish you much success in the future, in the Lord Jesus's name.
First of all, swimming is something you do when you really have to, like if you're injured ( you weren't that slow btw). Also, don't tell Spence what you put in the pancakes. Hell be happier if he thinks they are just refined food 😊
Watched this video while eating two hamburgers, and your though I am sure I can swim faster your form was way better than mine and the swim is why I will never do a tri.
Allie, you are dropping your elbows at the front of your stroke… think high elbows all the way through the press… feel like rolling over the top of a barrel.
When it comes to pancakes and Poki bowls you hold your own with anybody! Take that Stephanie.... the woman who eats like a 300 pound frat boy! Stephanie would be in deep trouble if she had to try to keep up with you on a run. Then, swimming slowly....well, you aren't the only one in that boat/pool! I could run and cycle pretty well, while swimming like an 80 year old with joint issues. Per your suggestion for another video of this type, you could recreate the highly scientifically oriented training that me and my marathon buds partake of.... on the evening before our annual stupid run on the morning of New Year's Day. The rules are, you show up at the park at 9 am, regardless of how well hydrated from alcohol you are, and of any optional sleep that occurred! One New Year's Eve, I had dinner at the Brazilian Steak house that had 11 different kinds of meat, for which I sampled each one. Then I drank champagne with my date at midnight, and ultimately wound up at a local taco restaurant, snarfing down a burrito and two tacos at 2:30 am. I made it to bed promptly at 4 am, which fulfills the training protocol of sleep, and awoke with my breath smelling of cheap grocery store champagne. Then a few minutes after getting up and tripping into my chest of drawers, I was wondering why I had such a bad headache. Shortly thereafter, I learned that Champagne does not mix well with Burritos, tacos, and Brazilian steak! Then it was time for a lovely 4 mile run with 30 miles an hour of wind, and temps in the high 30's. After that IHOP, and when I woke up, it was almost January 2nd. I guess that doesn't quite resemble.... Kipchoge's routine? Hope you are fully healed up. Run well Allie O!
You're having fun while recouping. You've mastered biking it appears. As for swimming hnmnn...maybe try running under water?? Jk Try rolling refrigerated peanut butter balls with granola...quick and delicious snack
