if you think bananas are a mediocre fruit, try "mexican bananas" aka manzano bananas (literally means apple bananas in spanglish) - they're tiny little bananas that taste like apples, which still blows my mind. if you eat them while there's still any green left on them they'll taste like you bit into a raw fruit (really unpleasant). so they must look fairly ripe before you eat them. find them at most real produce shops (aka not safeway, but sometimes whole foods and definitely any produce markets around you).
Let me be straight with you my sister. I absolutely respect Nick Bare, I've followed him since he got out of the Army, I'm a very too and like him I was also an army officer, albeit many, many years ago. I think his goal setting and focus to accomplish his goals and build his incredible business is 2nd to none. I also loved his video "Embrace the Suck", which inspires me in hard workouts and he is quite the all around athlete. I'd love him get serious for a year and try decathlon to see if he comes close to a national class level. He's most definitely an exceptional athlete. But to keep it real, as an athlete he isn't even close to your class. You are one of the finest athletes on the planet with unreal potential. Your story is one of courage and strength and overcoming great odds, it's literally a movie that needs to be scene by everyone to reach their potential regardless of the challenges they face. But it's still nice that you honored his efforts with this video. But people need to be doing these videos about you 🏃♀🎸
Allie I always try to save your videos for my cross training workouts but I can’t ever resist and just watch them immediately because they are too good! Another great video as always!
I love both of y’all’s content and I’m so excited to see you do a day in the life of him. This was a treat for my fitness brain to combine both creators.
Something fun & different. Of course, I prefer you being you. Also, best wishes a little early. . . Happy Bday, Allie O! Maybe I'll get an invite to the party next year, lol.
That looked like a tough challange you crushed it for sure . The food items looked great i think its cool that Spencer does some of the challange with with. you as well. Happy Holidays to you both and a happy new year 2024
Nice work!! Highly recommend plain yogurt with a little protein powder mixed in! Delicious taste but not all the sugars from flavored yogurt! (Obviously there is some in powder protein but can be better quality!)
allie i know this is 2 weeks late BUT I MUST KNOW! what did you and spence think about the survivor season/winner?? love seeing other survivor watchers in the wild haha. thanks for the video!
Nice work! I’ve followed Nick for a while too. You are both very impressive. Cottage cheese and fruit is 💯. Rice can be better if we’ll seasoned, with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and good butter. And, get some Furikake (sesame seeds, seaweed flakes blend) for atop the rice to accompany Asian-style dishes.
These types of videos are so good. Watching you eat and workout like another athlete is fun. Agree on bananas and plain white rice. I prefer other options. Have to ask do you know how many grams of protein you ate that day, 200+?
Props for that arm work!!!! I love bananas…. But I’d never choose eggs or Greek yogurt… I will eat them, but not by choice… dinner loved amazing!!! I like cottage cheese… but as a dessert? I think you approach these videos in such a great way… love you!!!! 🥰
I really enjoyed this video! I’m with you on wanting to enjoy food. I think there’s room to fuel properly and enjoy what I eat, and that looks different for everyone. I disagree on bananas though. I like them, and I think they’re underrated because they’ve gotten a bad rap for having too much sugar and being mostly carbs.
I’m am having to start a gluten free diet due to health problems. I know that maybe you can’t/ shouldn’t do a it because you are in recovery from an eating disorder, but could you please do a video on a day of eating on a gluten free diet for endurance athletes, or recommend one? Thank you!
Nick is a beast in everything he does... that must make you a beast-et. That was impressive for you to do all that arm workout. Still counting down the days for race time.
When you used your right hand to cut the meat I had to laugh, being left handed I can only cut with my left but I will eat with my right when I do that.
Nick is a crazy outlier. To be that jacked and have that much endurance speed is insane. You did well to complete his daily routine. Weight training like Nick is definitely to the extreme, but adding in some upper body lifting is great for runners too.
I would much rather watch your videos Allie. There is so much more transparency. Nicks vlogs are just about what a hardass he is and how injury free and perfect his training and diet and life are
Thanks for sharing your Nick Bare training day. I watch both of your channels and can say that you both inspire me to get out there and give it my all. I learn so much from your videos, so please keep sharing your journey. I'd like to see a strength competition with you and Spencer. Nick usually does this with guests on his show where they will each take turns picking an exercise. Maybe you and Spencer can do the same and possibly each pick 3 exercises of your liking. It would make for some good content.
making aromatic rices with whole spices might change your opinion. plain rice is kinda dull. but a lemon, saffron, or a tamarind rice well prepared is a whole difference experience.
Well, I think you do good you gotta remember Nick is a bodybuilder and really a hybrid athlete really unique somebody that his size and strength could’ve just ran out 239 it’s like I said it’s unique plus he he just also finished a bodybuilding competition which he finished way up there. He went from that to a backyard ultra, and he went from that to CIM in California so pretty hard-core, good job was interesting
Really cool video. Nice to do 10 miles before breakfast! I guess eggs and oats served as one saves time from eating oatmeal by itself? Liked your hot sauce on scrambled eggs or omelets although I go for Simple Truth Organic Jalapeno or Cholula. With the amazing comparison of your physique to Nick Bare's, I would share that likely I would more resemble Nick's wife.... than Nick! With training arms, I had an interesting benefit. My personal trainer who was a nationally ranked fitness competitor, built me up from literally nothing, to doing 2 sets of 50 push ups, with one arm on a ball. I noticed that did help with running as it seems you get a little extra propulsion from the arm swing, particularly on a long run after 10 miles, as the strength in the arms helped keep up the pace. However, those bigger biceps and forearms messed up my violin playing, so I cut way back on the push ups and other weights. Now, I do curls, military press, triceps, fly, row (not on a rowing machine, where one is seated upright and pulling weights from a full arm extension inwards) and dips. BTW I was highly impressed with you doing 100 pushups. As you know pushups are simply a lot harder for the female physique than the male, as from genetics, guys typically have about 30% more strength in the upper body. That was your mental strength exceeding your physical strength....really great! Truly excellent cooking! Super healthy with a lot of protein and you Allie Ostrander remain the ruling Queen of the Kitchen! I hope that you, Spencer, Georgie, and all of your family will have a wonderful Christmas. I know you will be doing some amazing baking! Merry Christmas Allie O. I believe that 2024 will be a year of great accomplishment for you!
11 pushups (boy style, knees off the floor) is actually pretty good. Please get the b.f. to rig some kind of barrier so Georgie's ball won't go under the stove. If there is no lumber available a long piece of duct tape might do. You're right about bananas and rice.
Love, love, LOVE this video!!! Girl, the amount of maple syrup tho... have u thought about doing a "Train & Eat Like Buddy the Elf" Christmas Special?!? 😂🎄
With all the weightlifting Bare does, you rarely hear about him getting injured. The sick thing is, he could probably break 2:30 in the marathon, even with all those muscles. Good dude to highlight. You get a perfect 10. I'm just surprised you didn't mention Bare's morning poop celebration. The man loves a good poop so much he used to film himself during his morning toilet. PS: Bare also had an eating disorder that he overcame.
How do you figure that running is his goal? He is a bodybuilder who happens to do some running. You should know this as you said his best marathon was 2:39? That would not even qualify for the women's OT. He has to keep up the bodybuilder facade to sell supplements. Supplements is a CROWDED market.
You need to do a video tomorrow on how you were unable to do anything with your arms. Ouch!!! I can just feel how sore you are going to be. Hope Nick Bare invites you to do a Run Shoot Lift with you.
i actually have a good amount of friends who don't like bananas especially not alone and i think im leaning towards that opinion, your take on rice does hurt a bit haha, im sure uve had soft fluffy rice cooker rice so u dont like that either? so relate to ur upper body workout struggles while doing no weight its a loong road, epic music definitely earned! also since ur watching survivor im doing a speed survivor that a friend organized and its quite fun even tho ive never watched, have u ever done a competition like that?
I’m glad I’m not alone on the banana opinion! I don’t dislike rice, it’s just not my fave..I’m more of a pasta and bread person 🤷♀️ I’ve never done a game like that! How does it work? Also, you should watch survivor Cagayan, that’s the best season!
@@allie_ostranderooh fair enough pasta and bread r rly good, but basically my friend organized a game of survivor that took place over two days with a bunch of challenges and tribals each day, there were only ten people but it was a lot of fun i got fourth hehe, maybe ill check out that season to prep for our next speed survivor in summer!
well probably you forgot the most important thing, the fact he is able to accomplish everything for the simple fact that he is an AIRBORNE RANGER! that's the reason he will never quit, he will always go for one more

I can confirm that Allie did actually do all 100 pushups. I can also confirm it took 25 minutes.
did Nick help you move your stuff to the curb prior to moving in?
Amazing she did them in one day. At the end of an arm aka noodle workout.
The arms were noodles for sure
Wow!!!!
I never knew I needed this in my life 🤣 my two favorite running youtubers 💪
Awesome video Allie. While Nick may be a huge inspiration to you, you are a huge inspiration to me! Enjoy the holidays.
Thank you 🙏

Literally same lol
2:47 i think the “supplements” he takes are a little different. Great video though!
Enjoyed this video, you did great in the gym. Allie you inspire a lot of people
"He's an Ironman, a bodybuilder, an ultrarunner, a father, a CEO, a 2:39 marathoner and a PED user." Great role model... NOT!

I follow every video of both you and Nick so loved this!
@nickbarefitness - imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.....Thanks your hard work on building this channel, Allie!
Yes, that’s the truth!
Totally agree about the bananas! I’ll put them in pancakes, oats, muffins etc but on their own I just find it a bit odd 😅
Love your commentary about beqns
Ok about the goat kefir of it all: I add it to chocolate protein smoothies and it makes it really creamy and delicious! Could never drink it plain lol
Nice work! I’ve followed Nick for a while too. You are both very impressive.

100% agree about the banana!! Sadly, I have a dislocated jaw issue so it’s one of the only fruits I can eat on the go!!
Get well soon
If it was the only fruit I could eat, it would probably taste really good! Recover quickly 🙏

Great job!
Would be curious to hear your thoughts on LeanBeefPatty 's full body mobility tutorial and how that could benefit runners.
Fun video idea, you're awesome! I hope you have a good holiday season.
Happy holidays!

Not going to watch just yet, but going to watch THIS and The Athlete Special when I hop on the Elliptical after work!
Yes, I hoped this helped stave off the elliptical boredom!
allie being dramatic about eating plain beans is my favorite thing ever (ly allie no hate at all im the same way)

As a super anti banana person (the smell of them makes me gag), I’m right there with you! 😆
You would have to put on some pretty good gains to be that type of athlete. Allie...your a Monster!!!
Haha yes, I will not be putting up that type of weight any time soon lol

The phrase "it's illegal in 48 states" generally refers to the 48 contiguous states, so i see what you did there 😁
I got some vintage “clear”

His Livers gotta be toast tbh. Hope he's doing all the right things behind the scenes to see his kids actually grow old with him

*Fake Natty
Agree to bananas not being the most tasty food. Disagree to rice being not that good.
Iam sure Bare wasn't the HULK when he ran 2.39 great video Allie just keep running your perfect
Honestly he’s still very muscular!
Not sure about copying anything Nick Bear does. Maybe a day of eating and training like Georgie.
That would be so funny haha
To be “just like Nick”, you’d have to add your weekly testosterone injection. 🤔
Nick Bare a doper?
120 pushups a day keeps the doctors away. Im pretty it goes like that
Nick is funny. Not sure it's intentional though. His self important "Goggins light" attitude is however the stuff of true parody.
He's also a veteran, and on steroids.
Is this a cryptic way of Allie saying she’s a fake natty like Nick Bare? Lol
First!
not here for the banana hate.
Really difficult for the body to process that amount of protein in a day. There’s a certain point where the extra will be stored as fat
I don't think you can maintain muscle mass and long distance running without taking steroids! Just my view!
That arm workout consisted of entirely chest and shoulder exercises btw.
Yes, it was a chest and tricep workout so..
@@allie_ostrander Consisting of zero tricep exercises so ...just chest then
