    If you have dried coconut flakes or chips on hand, try to make this coconut butter. It’s so easy and tasty. If you don’t, try making it from scratch--it’s even better. It’s great for warm pancakes and sweet potatoes, or by itself!

    Thank you so much for the atmosphere of your videos! First I found the cashew cheese video and then I continued with literally all the rest videos you have on you channel with one sit. It was nice to discover that you were born in Thailand, as I'm now in the jungle of beautiful Koh Phangan and exploring a slow cooking, growing my own food, making my favorite food from scratch. It's nourishing. Thank you so much for the inspiration. Can't wait to try foing the coconut oil and the cheeses. 🏝💚🌿

    In some videos I saw how to make coconut butter from scratch( which is quite easy) and in another video you show how to make coconut virgin oil( which is a longer process).
    Could you explain the difference between coconut butter and oil, please. In which case we should use butter and in which oil and can they be substituted.

    this is the hardest butter for me to make i dont know why the flakes take so long to get buttery, do you only keep it at room temp? doesnt go bad?

    • @GourmetVegetarianKitchen
      @GourmetVegetarianKitchen  4 роки тому

      It takes a while to process if the food processor is not powerful. I have that experience before. Yes, just keep it at room temperature, it doesn't go bad as long as it's made from the coconut chips that are completely dry.

    Hi dear! What a beauty as coconut butter is! I have never seen or heard from it, thanks for sharing the recipe, a question how long does it take for the coconut to dry? And the other question that marks is your processor? regards

    • @GourmetVegetarianKitchen
      @GourmetVegetarianKitchen  4 роки тому +1

      It only takes about 8 hours or less to dry it with a dehydrator, but it takes a few days to dry naturally at room temperature. My food processor is Cuisinart. Thank you so much for your kind word.

    Plz mention life shell of Coconut Butter n Coconut Chips.

    • @GourmetVegetarianKitchen
      @GourmetVegetarianKitchen  4 роки тому

      If the coconut chips are completely dry, you can keep them in airtight container and they will stay good for so long (may be 2-3 months) as well as the coconut butter that is made from dried coconut chips.

    Could you blitz the coconut meat before dehydrating it? Would that make it easier in the next step or would it make a mess for dehydrating it?

    • @GourmetVegetarianKitchen

      I have never thought about that, but I think it's more difficult to do it that way.

    Is it just puree? I didn't see the oil extraction part.

    • @elainecasper713
      @elainecasper713 4 роки тому +4

      Correct! It's just the dehydrated coconut in the food processor. As the blades spin the food processor is getting warm. Which will then make the fat in the coconut warm up and melt. It's basically emulsifying itself and it's being pureed. But I bet if you put the blended mix into a small pot on the stove, you could warm it up and extract the coconut oil. I hope that helped! 😊
