    Ingredients
    - 2 cups sunflower seeds
    - 1 tsp of salt
    Instructions
    1. Roast the sunflower seeds in the oven at 180 °C (350 °F) for 10 to 15 minutes.
    2. Add them to a food processor or high-speed blender, add the salt, and blend them for 5-7 minutes into a smooth butter.
Depending on your blender, this might take up to 10 minutes. Give your food processor a short rest in between the blend sessions if you feel it struggles too much.
Can also make 3 or 4 cups right away.

Just found this. Thank you for a clear and well-presented tutorial on how to make sunflower butter. For health reasons I've been looking for something to replace peanut butter, and sunflower butter is recommended. So glad I can now make my own! Thanks again!

yes, it's crazy how simple it is! The important thing is to keep blending until the consistency is right ;)

Love this channel, the video and straightforward, well done manner presented, so much so, that I went out and bought 4 pounds of sunflower seeds to make some at home. My new food processor is a Ninja BN601 (1000 watts) which makes terrific almond, walnut and cashew butter easily and quickly. However, with the sunflower seeds, after 45 minutes of stirring and grinding, I had something with the consistency of stiff putty. I felt like I could have used it to fix my driveway holes. I ended up putting a teaspoon of coconut oil in to give it some kind of spreadable texture which kind of negates the point of making it myself, when I still had to add oil. I'm not fortunate enough to have a Vitamix (1500 watts), but I think that's the kind of power you need to get the right consistency. Just a word of warning to anyone thinking they can make it in any blender - NOT- unless it's a Vitamix. In the end the butter wad fabulous! Just love it.

Thank you, Florence. We appreciate your support.
Oh no :O That doesn't sound like a nice experience.
You're right, the Vitamix is the perfect too, but we did it in a Ninja before as well.
The trick was to do it while they were still warm, so they release the oil easier.

Nice, I will give it a try once I have a better food processor. Where I live I could actually not find sunflower seed butter in the supermarkets etc. So no idea how it tastes :-D But I like sunflower seeds so I assume it will be delicious. How long did it take for you in the end? You used the slow juicer linked in the description or the ninja blender?

Great! Let us know then how you liked it! The good thing about sunflower seed butter is also the high protein content - around 21 g per 100 g. Especially toasted, they are super delicious.
So, with this blender, it probably took around 10 minutes in total, with a break every 40 to 60 seconds to scrape down the sides. We used the Ninja food processor, yes.

Which food processor did you use? I'm looking for one, and I like how this one has the food feeder chute, so that tells me it came with slicing/grating blades, and doesn't only chop foods! I need something that does that and that can process foods this nicely too! What brand and model is it?

      Thank you for watching :)
We used the Ninja food processor (older model)
It comes as a blender, food processor combo, so I am not sure if they sell them individually.
      It's very convenient :)

I guess it does not make a difference but the raw sunflower seeds I have here in The States are much smaller than your German Sunflower Seeds. Thanks for sharing as Sun Butter is way overpriced here in the USA, especially the organic, no-sugar-added variety.
