We have a town dump site in N. California that was used from 1900- 1930's. We got the rare opportunity to detect the site. The city decided to change the area into a water waste settling pond. Its huge area. They came in and dozered off in layers and allowed us to freely detect it. We got some absolutely amazing finds and still things being foubd even though they are done with the tractor work. Each scrape they made opened up an entirely new site. Problem is back when dump was active they would pile the garbage up and burn it. This would reduce the rubbish down. But it burnt alot of the coins so they come out melted silver and or so pitted most are hard toake out. But on occasion you hit a very nice coin. We run 6" coils on the Legend and Equinox to try and pluck out the coins from the astronomical amount of iron junk. It is fun but it really has made one heck of a detectorist out of those of us that fo this very difficult area. Do much iron trash the detector is going nuts and you have to focus on tones and pick out the good targets. Now I find myself hunting parks and lots with ease even trashy sites. I am finding more now than ever with the skills i have learned detecting the iron trash riddled dump.
Yes you're definitely the most informative detecting youtuber on here in regards to the equinox mate, everyone including myself has, and will continue to learn a hella lot of tips you don't get in any manual 👍 looking forward to tonight's vid mate 👊
I really appreciate the kind comment @idigthat73 being able to share info and help others out there is what's its always been about for me. Knowledge is power as they say, but it's also great to share with others🙂 Thanks again for all your support mate🙏👍🙂
Wow great to hear @A Hobby Or Three that little 6inch coil on the Equinox 800 is a killer combo mate and perfect for working those very trashy areas! I'd love to hear how you get on in future and what you think, or any great finds you may have mate👍 Best of luck out there and happy hunting! Cheers👍⛏️
@@DigItDetecting Oh man, Sterling silver ring and a 1886 Half Penny on its first outing in a trashy suburban park. Your settings and mindset helped a lot in the field. I'm just kicking off this hobby and my youtube channel and did not expect to be finding such things this soon. Thanks for the inspiration.
You are most welcome indeed @A Hobby Or Three and WOW mate, that is so bloody amazing to hear👌👌 Helping and sharing others to find the goods is what detecting is all about, great finds again! Best of luck out there hunting for future mate🙂🤝⛏️
I really like how you don't mind running it Iron Bias low, same here. I've found a lot of really cool iron stuff with my 900 and you eventually learn through trial and error on how to differentiate those iron targets from the rest 😃
Thanks heaps for watching @Marcelo Silva running that iron bias down nice and low certainly helps to open up the Equinox and hit on more targets. Especially great when working trashy ground👌 Thanks again for watching and commenting, I hope to catch you on future adventures mate👍⛏️
Positive vibe man your vids , i can imagen that people are inspired just because of your positive detecting style. Informative , and plain live digs . Great to watch . Thanks for sharing
That really means alot thank you so much @Masita atisma I have always enjoyed sharing tips and tricks in my videos and just being myself. Keeping it fun and light-hearted as I go. There will be plenty more exciting adventures to follow in future, I hope you enjoy! Cheers heaps again man🤝👍⛏️
Great video Luke. Those displays at the end are brilliant. Love that you repurpose the pallets. I remember your display coffee table and the kids cubby! Now these displays are just awesome. 🤩
Thankyou so much for joining us tonight @10 Targets Detecting this was such a fun hunt with the boys! The displays I agree turned out amazing, I am so happy with them and something I can also take to future events with me to share with others to🙂 I am really glad you enjoyed our latest adventure and look forward to seeing you again next week! Happy hunting and take care Camille😊⛏️
That 6 inch coil can really make a big difference on those trashy sites and you did very well revisiting this well hunted site. Just wish Minelab would hurry up and release the small coil for the Manticore. I must be patient I guess.Display cases are awesome. Great video as usual and catch you on the next one.
It sure does @DetectingOz who would of thought there would be so much more hiding at these old house sites! I really can't wait to get to house site number 3 and detect now...previously the most productive of all🙌 Hopefully that 6" is released very soon to mate, they will be a weapon on the manticore as well im sure! Cheers again for watching Gary, take care until the next and happy swinging mate🙂🙂
Thanks heaps @Phil Bird I really enjoyed shooting this video mate and sharing the easy to use settings for trashy sites! They work amazing👌 Take care and happy hunting until the next mate👍⛏️
It does have less ground coverage @Glen Miles however the smaller coils are ideal for hunting in super condensed trashy areas. Being a smaller size coil, they are picking up on less at any one time, therefore being able to individualise and separate out targets in those high trash areas. I like to refer to them as being the sniper coils👌👌 Best of luck mate👍⛏️
I was pretty keen to share tonights latest video @idigthat73 what a great hunt and how cool is that 900 with the 6" coil. On point for sure👌 We have plenty more to go next week and the following! I'm sure you will enjoy watching, cheers again mate👍⛏️
That little 6-inch coil sure is a killer combo on the Equinox @The Coffee Bush Kid just amazing at what it can hit on amongst the rubbish and rust. Great to still be finding stuff at these old sites after detecting them for years and years! The boys and I sure did have a lot of fun🙂 Thanks again for watching Andrew, I am really looking forward to checking out your new video running the new manticore to mate...I just have to find a spare, peaceful moment in the day to sit down and enjoy⛏️ Cheers heaps mate👍

I am really glad you enjoyed watching @The Buddha great to be back hunting these old farm sites and seeing what the new 900 can do! Lifetime diging tools for metal detecting, I highly recommend giving them a search on google🙂 Cheers heaps for watching again, I hope to catch you next week for our next hunt👍⛏️

In my opinion @Bunny Basher definitely a equinox-900. You will love it I'm sure!
At the min I seem
To hate it it loves the iron
