It’s my go-to lav mic system for weddings, absolutely love it so far!! The safety channel feature plus internal recording as a backup is just a game changer for me :)
I can imagine this would be a game changer at weddings! Just a super easy setup! Are you running lavs with this system wiring up the groom and officiant?

Hey Greg, awesome to hear you're liking it. Quesiton - does it start recording straight to the transmitter when the camera button is pushed or do you need to manually hit record on the transmitter first and sync up later? Or both? Cheers!
What I do is hook up the receiver to my XT3, check sound levels on my camera screen and clap once after pressing the shutter button in case there's a sync problem later in post. The sound from the wireless is automatically merged with the video captured by the camera on your media card. I have used the recorders without the wireless receiver and had to sync in post. The hand clap helps in that situation. Hope that helps.
The individual transmitters each record if you push the record button on each transmitter. The receiver doesn't record on its own. It just passes the audio signal on to your attached camera. Check out UA-cam instructional videos.
@@gregstotts1638 for motovlogging did you just connect the receiver to the action camera and have the receiver inside the helmet with the transmotter, or did you just use the transmotter and merged it up in post

I’ve had it a few weeks. Use it with my GoPro and I have also used it to add audio to my DJI Mini 3 Pro screen record videos by connecting it to the RC. It’s a great system!
Have been using it for weddings and some UA-cam stuff and love it….. you forgot about the magnet clip to hide the mic behind your shirt! THAT is game changing as well.
@8:08 couldn’t you just record the video with your iPhone and have the wireless internal recordings being done dual channel? Meaning not having the receiver attached to the iPhone? Then in post you can add the dual channel audio into your video that was recorded with your phone. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I’m new to this. Thanks for the great review.
Sorry This might be a dumb question, but I’m not to tech savvy with Microphones. I’m a mobile DJ & I do a ton of weddings & so I’m looking for a good small attachable microphone that can be used during a wedding ceremony by the officiant & the bride & groom, without them having to hold a microphone or use a Mic stand. So I guess my question is, can you plug the receiver into a DJ Speaker to transmit the sound out into a crowd?
I've been using my Rode Wireless GO 2 for a while but have strongly considered switching to this system purely due to being able to pull recordings directly off the transmitters without additional software.
Love the record feature as a safety backup, 14 hours is plenty. It sounds pretty good too. If I didn't have a rode wireless go and lavalier go setup, I'd definitely buy this especially love the charging case as standard.

Yeah, if you have it set to merge audio, it will record as a mono track, but if you have it set to record stereo, one mic will be the right channel and one mic will be the left channel👍

I bought two of these. One for me and one for my wife. It would be nice if you could put them in the case and close the lid with the dead cats still attached. I have others by other companies and I’ll probably carry one as a backup but unless I lose this or it stops working, I seriously doubt I’ll find anything to replace it. Wow, you literally made me go from skepticism of these types of "non pro level" mics to wanting this particular one! I was strongly considering the prosumer level wireless lavs but this particular one checks all the boxes for me. There are three questions I have. Firstly, how does this work for clipping? Is there a built in auto gain function built in or is it all manual? How does this micsystem sound with a prosumer level mic? How does this system work with more than 2 mics? Can this be done? I'd also like a comparison of the sound quality for this brand and other brands in the same category. I worry that all these systems have terrible on board pre amps. Overall though, I think this is a great product for people looking for high quality audio thay is one step below prosumer level mics. 👍🏽
When you record only with the transmitter how do you know what the levels are at? Does the the mic pick a middle ground? Or is it based on how it was set on the receiver previously?

I want to buy the dji mic and the countryman b3 lavalier. Ist the sound quality only dependent on the lavalier you are using or also on the transmitter the lavalier is plugged in to?
Camvate has a cold shoe SSD holder that would probably work to hold the receiver on a cage. I tried posting a link but my comment isnt showing up. Search for "CAMVATE Universal SSD Holder Clamp"
Thanks for the cogent info. Quick question - I’ve seen you talk about the Rode Micro on camera shotgun mic as well. I’m going to be photographing coastal wolves on the west coast of BC in May and would like to do some video too. For sound, would you lean to the DJI kit or a small shotgun like the Rode Micro? I’m interested in letting the audience hear the sould as I hear it, and possibly some voiceover. But I want to keep the rustly noise of my paws on the camera and my clothes moving to a minimum. Any auggestions appreciated!
Do you think it’d be possible to use two sets of these mics with a splitter going to the camera from from two receivers? Or do you think there’d be a conflict of frequency. I ask because I have a Golf UA-cam channel and naturally there’s time I’d like to record a vlog on the course with 4 of us playing in the same group. I have the system and absolutely love it. Great tutorial and review pal
Hi. Great video! Would like to ask if the transmitter can actually trigger the camera to start recording while the receiver is plugged in the camera? So it kinda like serves as a wireless shutter? So i can start and stop recording (both from the camera and audio/mic) while from a distance. Not sure if I phrased my question correctly, hopefully it’s not confusing 😅 thank you.
Great review David. I have both a Sony A1 and a Sony A7SIII and the DJI Mic system does not work well with them. There is a tremendous amount of buzz or hum in the background due to the shielding of either these wireless systems or the Sony cameras, not sure which. I get the same issue with the Rode Wireless Go’s so I am assuming it is the Sony cameras. You can minimize the noise by moving the receiver around but inevitably, the interference will come back. I want to like the DJI Mic system, it is really well done, but until the noise issue is figured out, it is completely unusable (yes, tried different receiver to camera cords as well).
I'm thinking of starting to record some drone related clips would you suggest this system for grabbing voice for such thing, or is it overkill for that purpose? Might find other uses for it down the line
Nice review. Was thinking of picking this up to record audio for my ATV rides. I’ve been using a Insta360 Go2 for the video but the wind noise on it is awful. I was hoping to use this to record audio from the ride itself (engine, transmission shifting, etc) and then the other inside my helmet for commentary. I’m assuming I can grab the audio files off of each of the mic’s directly and then mix the two separate channels in editing?
I want this mic for my dpi action 2 but want to remote mount the receiver to the cage the camera sits in. would a usb c mini extension cable be ok to connect the camera and receiver indirectly? thanks for any help. Regards
I hope DJI paid you for this video coz you’ve just sold me to it! Thank you for making it easy to understand and sharing the benefits with the features!
Hi David, Got these about 4mos ago when supply came back. Love it but haven’t been happy with the lavs with no shielding to prevent RF interference. Read in the comments that you’re using the Rode Lav ii with no RF interference. Can you confirm this? Also on your A7S3, did you have any hissing sound. I wonder if it’s because the audio levels need to be set very low.
Can confirm that I'm using Rode Lav 2 with these and I'm not getting any rf interference. I tested them on both of my A7Siii cameras and I got a super clean pickup. I have heard this though that people have had that issue, I just haven't seen it yet. I'll let you know if it pops up for me though👍
Saw a video about this. There are specific lav mics people have purchased that don’t suffer this issue. I’ll comment again when I find the link I saw. That was quick, found it! ua-cam.com/video/Vsf9nIiMgPA/v-deo.html

I have the same question! Very curious to know its the only thing keeping me from purchasing this set! Does anyone have the answer please 😭
Are these better than Rode me wireless system or rode 2 go
Hello DM, which warm lav ?
Seems the Shure MVL wont eat interference from the transmitter or receiver.
See Stewart and Alina vid.
I’ve been using the Rode Lav 2 and it’s been awesome with the DJI system
@@DavidManningvlog Thx DM
I wonder if you could plug the usb c adapter into an osmo pocket instead of using the “dji adapter” 🤔
How does it compare with the RODE Wireless Go II? The RODE is my #1 for lots of stuff but curious of a comparison.
I bought mine in Feb and showed up today so I would hope they're still a good buy haha
It can’t
@@Superjeanmarc thank you 🙏🏻
Great review David. I want to like the DJI Mic system, it is really well done, but until the noise issue is figured out, it is completely unusable (yes, tried different receiver to camera cords as well).
strange I don't have that issue with a Rode Wireless Go and a Sony A7Siii
DJI waited for the tech to mature and others launching first, then released this beast to steal the market.
Man, they really did. I think the charging case though is what really sells it. Makes it such an integrated and simple to use system!
Love my DJI mic. Glad I moved over from the Rode Go II
I'm thinking of starting to record some drone related clips would you suggest this system for grabbing voice for such thing, or is it overkill for that purpose? Might find other uses for it down the line
Definitely buy. I love it. Definitely a game changer. I use it in my studio on my m50 mk 2 and GoPro hero 10…
Great review! I'm needing a wireless mic + lav situation for creating dance tutorials. I think this'll be my move.
Got em, love em! Agree with you on every point.
As usual - amazing video. Love your sentiment/ethos. Thank you as always.
Why would the recording stop after about 3 hours? It still has battery power but it stops recording.
Hi David,
Got these about 4mos ago when supply came back.
