This is a go-to practice for me when I am hormonal and feeling particularly angry and irritable lol its helps me so much. It shifts my mood every time. Thank you April for all that you do, your videos are a big part of my healing journey and I am very grateful🙏🏼
All of us feel angry at some point in our lives but what we do with it - well, that's a choice. Thank you for sharing a beautiful practice for the liver meridian, making all poses feel accessible and safe for those of us who are incredibly stuck and tight in the areas targeted 🕉
Thank you Aprille, I feel so much lighter now. I really appreciate you sharing your anger issues, teachers can be tempted to present as perfect. I respond best to the relatable variety. And Miss Lucy there, showing off her meditation skills.
Thanks for sharing!! Absolutely Caroline and I find authenticity to be the best in connecting, sharing, and learning. Wishing you a wonderful weekend (and Miss Lucy says hello too). : )
This class really helped me this morning when i've been feeling some anger coming up and i knew i wanted to take it to the mat to sit with and help move through. So thank you Aprille 💛
You are welcome Isabella and thank you for joining me for practice. Lots of feelings coming up right now as we approach a super full moon eclipse and it's a good time to allow them to process and redirect us in new ways. Have a great day - Peace, Aprille
So glad this resonated with you. This time of year with the heat and energy shifting can be particularly challenging...Thank you for joining me and have a restful and relaxing weekend. Peace, Aprille
I like what you said about anger. Thanks for keeping it real and not just pretending/promising that yoga will prevent us from ever feeling anger because we will be in a constant state of Zenned out bliss. But if we can recognize what is really behind the anger, we will be better able to accept it and choose more skillful responses to express it/deal with it. I have to admit that I tried out the modified child's pose but just wasn't comfortable and perhaps didn't fully understand how to do it, so I did regular child's pose instead. I know the idea is to go beyond our comfort zone, but regular child's pose was calling out to me in a way that I knew this version would never would (but I did attempt it, so at least that much!).
Thanks Ellen! Yoga is about exploring EVERY feeling, thought and experience and learning more about oneself in every way. That definitely includes anger! I am glad you tried the pose out but if another pose was calling to you, then do your practice. However, if you would like more direction on how to do this version, please let me know and I can answer any questions you have on this variation as it has some wonderful inner leg benefits : ) Have a wonderful weekend! Peace, Aprille
Yup, I wasn't understanding how to do it as easily as you did from sitting---it worked a little better going into child's pose and then sticking one leg out to the side---I definitely felt the inner thigh muscles. When I tried to do it sitting up as you did I may have not arranged the bent leg correctly and then had difficulty going down to the floor with the other leg stretched out to the side. But I can try again. I never can open up wide, like for straddle, so there's always going to be some limitations---I sit more in a V with my legs instead of the 180 degree line most people do (what's up with that? Does everyone else have hypermobile hip joints?) Perhaps if I look at the pose as just half straddle with a bent leg I can make my peace with it, but when I heard "(modified) child's pose" all I could think of was the comfort of child's pose and I felt like I was being denied that comfort, so I was almost compelled to go into it (but it was a calm, measured response and not a knee-jerk reaction of "She's got to be kidding! No way am I even going to try it" And I did try it with an open, albeit confused, mind.)
@@ellenled the bent leg is with heel under bum or slightly off to outside hip (if that feels better). The knee points forward while the other leg is outstretched to the side. It might be that taking your knee out slightly might be better for you. The nice thing about this pose is the inner leg opening all the way from pelvis to inner foot (activating the Kidney, Liver and Spleen meridians all at once). I don't have a very deep opening in straddle either but that is related to my hamstrings rather then the inner leg for me. If it makes more sense to get into it from a full child's then feel free to take that version! : )
Thank you so much for this practice. Anger is definitely something that has its way of taking over my life at times. Such a wonderful and intense practice to come back to 🙏🏼🧡 Namaste
You are welcome Jodi and I know what you mean. This year has been a wild ride! Wishing you all the best and thank you for joining me today. Peace, Aprille

I'm so glad! Yes, Lucy is the most loving little cat and often comes in to get her attention fill wherever I am in the house! Thank you for joining us today and have a lovely week. Peace, Aprille
Thank you Aprille! I actually searched your channel for something like this today and this class turned out to be just what I needed. As we come out of stay at home orders, and I am preparing to go back to work, a job I truly love, at a spa and yoga studio, I have been told that a new person was hired and my days are being cut. This has truly angered me and I have not been given answers as to just why but made to feel like I should be happy with what I am coming back to. This anger from the past few days has just pent up in me and I feel like I just might explode. Today I decided I needed to do something about it and I needed to get on the mat a place I have not been in two days since I was given this information. So, I actually searched "Yin yoga for anger" and this is one that popped up. While I do not feel my anger is gone I do feel that through the power of yoga, and a forgiveness meditation that I did after, has helped me unblock and maybe help it start to shift. So thank you. Your channel has brought so much to me since I have found it during this stay at home time frame.
You are very welcome Tracie and thank you for sharing your practice time with me today! I think feeling anger and frustration is very real right now. We have this stress we have been sitting with for months and it's built up a lot. So much has changed and it's shocking to us and difficult to deal with it all in such a short time. We are all managing in the best ways we can. I always remind myself that while feeling anger and frustration is okay, they are just feelings. What I choose to do with them and how I choose to use that energy is up to me. Sometimes these feelings are the catalyst for change in our lives! I wish you all the best and I hope your situation changes or you find something new that brings everything you are looking for in a position. I love that you are using yoga and meditation to work with this all too! Many hugs and good wishes to you today and always - Peace, Aprille
Thank you so much Tina for joining Lucy and I for this practice and for taking the time to share your experience! Wishing you a wonderful and peacefilled weekend - Aprille

This felt very relaxing, I especially enjoyed the savasana at the end to digest well all those poses. Anger can creep up on us all, with a special needs child I luckily have a very calm nature but have felt frustration for sure at times and so good to work through all of that as well as breathe and do lots of yoga to help take me in the right direction and be positive to help guide my Lulu in the best possible way. Peace and light to you dear one and thank you again for another beautiful practice!
I completely agree Katrina - it seems as if anger and frustration just happens but by taking some time to really look at the roots, breathe some space in to the body, and take a step back with yoga and meditation - we can change that energy into something useful and positive. I'm REALLY angry , i can't stop crying , I'm staying with someone who adopted me , shares the Same last name , and she has Never Ever EVER showed me love, every time i try to be sweet , and do something nice , like today , i gave her a bath bomb for breast cancer awareness , Not good enough for her. So i took it and started smashing and punching it with me hand until now i have a swollen bruised hand , i can't stop crying , my heart is Constantly being broken.
Regina, I am so sorry you are feeling so angry and frustrated. If you can, take a break from being in the same space - take a walk, go outside in nature, volunteer at a local shelter. Step back and away from the situation to give yourself some space and breathing room. Hugs to you!

Thank you!! Blessings
You are so welcome and I hope you have a wonderful and peace filled day! Aprille
