I would really love for you to do ballistic test on the R 17 round.
I recently inherited one and after I got the scope dialed in I put 10 rounds bench resting into the 1 inch circle of the center dot. I couldn’t believe that I did that so I tried it again with the same results.
It is absolutely hands-down, the most accurate rifle that I have and I would love to know how much damage you can do with such a tiny round, but it’s so incredibly fast feet per second.

I like my 6.5 Creedmoor. I was able to hit a 18" target at a mile, 3 time out of 18 shots. Shots 13, 16 and 18 were hits.
That should be a long range competition as in see how many rounds it takes you to get 3 hits on a mile
Glad you are back to normal! That rifle is gorgeous!! 6.5 gets a lot of grief but it does what it is designed to. People expect .30 performance from a.25cal

I love the touch of real wood furniture. Wood just feels so nostalgic it just feels different than plastic or aluminum.

@@a1locc25 yeah but, and I know you've heard this before, this one isn't a gimmick and it's here to stay, the military is adopting it in almost every special force, and it will completely replace 308 for snipers and many other roles. In 10 years time, 90% of 308 in the military will be replaced by 6.5 creed not to mention it's spreading amongst hunters and it completely dominates competition shooting

I waited a while after they were getting popular to finally go out and get a 6.5 CR, and that was a couple of years ago. I was interested in long range target shooting and picked up a Savage Long Range Precision in 6.5 and invested in a quality scope. At the time a 1,000 yard shot was considered a decent challenge for the average shooter but that rifle made it so easy that it was anti-climactic. It almost wasn't fun because the round and the rifle are so good. It would be great to see some long range shooting with the 6.5CR, that's what it is well known for. Love the rifle and the PARD scope, that scope is amazing.

I'd say it's not known as a predator/varmit caliber, it's an option if you have to take fairly long shots but otherwise better known as a medium game cartridge. Medium game including deer, antelope, bighorn sheep, black bear and it's been popular with folks hunting moose and elk. On the lighter side for that but definitely effective, heck Mark Larue took an elk with his 6.5 Grendel which is the little brother to the Creedmoor. Or maybe little cousin would be closer to truth.

My opinion on the 6.5 is that the travel time for the round is much better than most rifle rounds out there
I have taken a dozen or more whitetails from 100-350 yds had a Ruger American 6.5 cm changed to a Boyd stock and a great trigger job. I have replacement parts in shoulder so somewhat recoil sensitive last year purchased a Sig Cross in 6.5 Creedmoor....I reload and the 140 gr with h4350 produces same hole group at 100 yds love this round and about the same result

I personally love 6.5 creedmoor. It’s a great caliber, as mentioned, for long range shooting. Good ballistic qualities, recoil impulse is smooth and not as thumpy as a 308. Have a great week Jesse, glad you’re getting over the crud.

I have both 6.5 CM and 6.5 PRC and the PRC does not put the 6.5 CM to shame but you can hunt farther with the 6.5 PRC. The 6.5 CM does exactly what it was intended for when it was implemented as a hunting round as well as the 6.5 PRC.

I’ve never owned a 6.5 creedmoor but I do own a 6.5 Grendel and it is most definitely the most accurate rifle I own or have ever owned! And it’s a AR-15!!
This round reminds me of the .280 Enfield round. .280 Enfield is probably the best assault rifle round never used. Look it up.

I was debating between the two about 2 years ago myself. After some digging I decided on a Ruger precision rifle chambered in 6.5 creedmoore. That rifle has become my absolute favorite for long range and hunting. Don't know what kind of dark magic they used on that round, but it's amazing.
@@archangelministries2265 After watching this video and your comment my decision is 6.5 CM...I've been using a 30-30 for years for deer and hog hunting while it's been a great hunting rifle I just wanted something else for long range...I'm going with the Savage 110 6.5 CM with the Magpul Hunter stock 18 inch barrel

When I picked up my rifle I needed something that would be good for hunting but had long range capabilities for accuracy and ballistics for whenever i needed to provide overwatch for my security teams out in the field. So I reached out to a buddy of mine who's a retired sniper and he recommended 6.5 CM. After heading out to the range with him and running .308 and 6.5 against each other I went and bought my rifle the next day. The accuracy for the 6.5 was way better than .308 at long range. It's no .338 or .50 cal, but it definitely gets the job done.
When I was watching you awkwardly using a bolt action (that’s a VERY popular action here as we can’t own semi autos) I was wondering why it looked so awkward. Oh! Bolt actions ARE awkward for south paws lol 😅. Took me a few minutes of “pretend shooting” to figure out why 🤦

What I was wondering...I have a Sako Forester in 308W, it differs a LITTLE bit from 7,62 NATO, that I also own...and there is the 7,6 Sringfield. Most of these, you know what I mean, sort of , if the rifle is not to picky. Sort of goes along. But there is something about the 6,5 Creedmore I don't get. :)

I have a queation about 6,5. I have Kragh's in 6,5 and a Mauser in 6,5. Basicly the same cartridge. Just a little less pressure in the Kragh. What, if any, is the difference between those and the 6,5 Creedmore? I'm not from the US, I'm from Norway. The cartridges and the bullets look identical. One of the most ugly cartridges ever made. :D
By the way, my father hunts moose with 6,5. I yhink that is the smallest cartridge allowed in Norway for moose hunting. He used to use 30-06, but he is old and a ligther gun is easier to carry around. :)
I don’t have enough experience with those others to give you an honest answer. It’s something I could test down the road.

It is a Swedish cartridge used in Swedish mausers, and it was also chambered in the krag rifle and AG-42 Ljungman rifle. 6.5 Creedmoor is higher pressure, but with modern rifles and powders, you can load the 6.5x55 to be way more powerful than a 6.5 creedmoor. Ruger, Sauer, Tikka, and Mauser currently make rifles in that caliber so it's not obsolete.
