You know why i like this channel so much? He does the stuff, is likable and doesnt act silly like Kentucky or have skits like demo. He is a lot like demo when he was doing normal, cool stuff, but with 10x better production value. Anyway, love the channel.
Well like you said “great for home defense” so maybe add a wall behind a head or torso and see how much it would over penetrate compared to lead slugs.
Ages ago I had loaded some 12ga with glass marbles. Just your run of the mill dime store "cat eye" type. Naturally, they were instantly disintegrated on solid stuff, however, they flew pretty well out to 45m. I was able to shoot a coyote one evening close to the barn. Made a mess of that varmint, with lots of tissue damage, with moderate penetration. The old rancher I worked for, upon hearing about it, said that I had "lost my marbles". I suppose he was right. 😂 But I was just wondering what it would do. The things a teenager will do huh?🤔
So, I was watching your "HESH" shotgun slug video and I realized something. Liberty Civil Defense ammo in .357 sig and 10mm move fast enough to detonate tannerite. They also have very deep hollow points. This made me think if you filled them with tannerite and capped them with a bit of solder they should explode on impact with no primer or blank on the tip needed. If you wanted to add a bit of zirconium powder (pure zirconium metal, not zirconium oxide) you should also get a 4,500 C. fireball. They already move fast enough to defeat IIIa body armor, so you would be left with an armor piercing high explosive incendiary round that will fit in a handgun. Basically a pistol version of a Raufoss round, and nothing technically illegal about it. The only things I'm not sure of is if it would explode as it is being fired, or if not would the base of the bullet would be thrown back towards the shooter by the detonation.
I guess I missed this video 7 days ago but I am happy i spotted it.. seeing how rhe ceramic slugs exploded the ceramic tiles was awesome watching and hearing..👍
Very impressive, thank you! They might be not as powerful but they would do the job and not blowup everything behind the target. Even Perry is a genius and I've probably seen all his slugs on Taofledermaus (such a great channel!).
so , i like it. ceramic slugs work, if packed well. i use airguns so dont need the shells, just half inch ceramic sylinders. what i wonder is what would a super maxi tampon do to a balistics dummy. i know what the jr ones do out of a .51cal air rifle, giggles. it dont matter , they do go in. so the dummy would be plugged.
After seeing how the projectile came apart passing through the skull, it would be interesting to re do this with some cardboard or paper after the target to see what the fragments would do/how much energy they have left.
Hey man, the magnum loads need a heavy weight to shoot right, not just a tight seal. Use the cheap trap loads for lightweight experiments because they have a faster burning powder. Also be careful, try to keep the weight similar to the intended payload.
Hey, I just re-watched (and left a like) your "This is Definitely NOT a 12ga Booby Trap" video and you asked for ideas at the end. I was wondering if the Fifth Ops Perimeter alarm would work with Chaszel 18in caliber adapter/chamber reducers and make it a more effective "zombie apocalypse defensive tool". 45-70 would be cool, but they have pretty much everything, even 18in 12g to 300BLK that could potentially be really cool if someone maybe threaded it or something...
Video idea (i know it could be a bit pricey) . Trying to shoot down drones with sporting shotguns. They've been getting issued in Ukraine lately, but no YT channel has actually tested whether they'd work. Maybe try taking one out before it drops a tennis ball on you lol
I don't know if anyone has suggested this before but how about a 3" or a 3,5" turkey magnum on a dummy.. With tungsten shot.. I know they are probably around 5-6$/round over there across the pond but.. For what I've personally seen what tungsten does to capercaillie, grouse, geese, ducks, venison, deer, pests of all sorts.. Like someone took a Mac-10 in .22 and mag-dumped.. :D
I would like to see you go one step further since you did have some penetration out the back I would like to see if it would go into drywall after exiting
You should have had something behind the head so you could see what actually passed through. Because the ceramic slug could have gone through the skull and by the time it broke through the second layer of bone on the back of the head, the slug could have been basically disintegrated and unable to do any damage to anything passed the skull and wouldn’t be able to go through a walk unintentionally.
Does anyone have any advice on a good shotgun for the shorter person? I’m 5’6”…. I don’t want a shotgun that’s as tall as me lol but I also don’t want one that’s gonna make me fly back with every shot.. I’m 135lbs lol… any advice for a shotgun would be good but if it’s too much trouble I might just snag an AR and cry about what could’ve been
From your use of the word "ceramic" I think, you may have misunderstood the finer details;...... around 4 minutes into the video, you have ceramic tiles. Those are made of clay, and thus fall within the classic use of the word 'ceramic". But, in the world of material science, the word has a broader meaning - a man made, non metallic material made at high temperature. Not necessarily clay, and not necessarily brittle. Ceramics can be engineered to have a variety of physical properties. Very interesting video 👍☀️👍
Set two small pieces of drywall behind the target to test over penetration. If it goes through the target and both pieces of drywall you know it's way too much...
I got some copper matrix slugs a few years ago, can't remember the brand. They turned to dust on steel targets, at 12 yards would dent AR500 steel. Wondered how they would do when hitting drywall....
You know why i like this channel so much? He does the stuff, is likable and doesnt act silly like Kentucky or have skits like demo.

im glad even send you some slugs he makes some crazy slugs i love his slugs on TFM
You need to crimp your shells. They're going to be inconsistent and not develop full pressure without a crimp.
Great vid TauflederShot!
Cool revisit on those slugs.
Most underrated gun tube channel out there. Also the best. God bless, be safe, keep the great content coming!!!
@@ryanzanow8221 ...can't spell assume without ass cant ya Ryan....
big up for Evan!
A fun test. Very interesting slug. It'll be fun to see in a ballistic torso when you test the text batch of 12 ga.
You'll be up to 500k subs in no time!

For those that don't know, Evan Perry is an aerodynamic genius. He can make drawer pulls with sub MOA accuracy
That's a reach. He just isn't shy about turning things in a lathe to 12 bore.
Frangible rounds are exceptional for circumstances that can not afford over-penetration. Basically a "magic bullet" for home defense.
Also for opening doors without killing the person behind it
I have used lead slugs for decades. The work. Now with red dots available, once sighted in, you cannot miss.
Slick video brother. Glad you mentioned Taofledermaus. Fantastic channel for us ballistics nerds
Evan is the man. Makes some amazing stuff. You should have the "OG" on the show.
That actually doesn’t sound too bad. I’m predicting some fragmentation
Great video. It’s nice to see other creators sending some love Jeff’s way.

Great video! Now see if they will penetrate our hybrid polymer/Kevlar ballistic mandibles.
Definitely should do a frangible video...door breach, lock breach
Very interesting slugs, never knew these existed.

Excellent 👍 Video 👏! A definite Like 👍. Cheers from 🇨🇦🍻🙏
Next up on 1Shot TV: "Explosive tipped Depleted Uranuim Slugs, are they any good??"
I wish!! Frag-12 shells r a real thing
Has he ever fired dragons breath rounds?
And what's so wrong with that???? Science needs proof bro
If i remember correctly i think he has awhile back, i think thats what burned down his original backstop?@NeilJames1982

Nice work, it took eight months to get enough slugs to send them to you 😯
Great job Evan. There’s definitely a market for your ceramic slugs. I know I would buy a few boxes.
@@Kelly-oq9nh thanks, give me another 8 months 😅
I'm not concerned with over penetration so ill stick to 00'buck and lead slugs to defend my castle. cool video man
evan branching out. can't wait to see the next episode everything black powder! 😆
The DP 12 is my new favorite gun, DP best stand fer Donkey Punch...
I loved your video!!!! Amazing!!!!
This guy has more hang fires than anyone on the planet lol. Love your videos man but hang fire needs to be on t shirt for you
Wow '' Another Great Video 💯Many Thanks 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥

The MEAT TARGET by Paul Harrell !!!
Oh ffs 🙄
Evan Perry crossover, hell yes.
I was unsubscribed again, this makes 3 times so might want to start mentioning it again at the end my dude 🤘
I've had leftover oatmeal turn cement-ish; pellets wouldn't be much, but slugs might just work 😮 😅.
Itd b cool to see a breaching test
Interesting. Thank you
Even Perry is awesome!
Yessir great video!!
Something similar is used for breaching doors
The bone fragments blowing out the back might penetrate stuff behind it lol
great video
i think we need to revisit this with bullet proof glass
Taofledermaus mentioned💯
Test drywall behind a dummy torso or head, since the practical question here is how much energy the slug retains after exiting a body.
Ah, yes, Evan Perry... the mad, not-yet-evil genius ;) That man is a blessing to us shooters and a menace to all others - haha!
Cool video 👍

It’s illegal to do that unless you have a license to fly drones. Believe it or not you can’t even shoot down your own drone and film it ,legally.
@@Kelly-oq9nhyou don’t have to have a license to fly drones on private property 😂😂
Dry wall test . Dry wall, Insulation then add 2x4 ?
It was odd hearing Evan Perry’s name on a channel other than Taofledermaus
I get around 😎
@@TheRhinestoneHurricane don’t take offense to this but your picture Jeff uses always cracks me up. It reminds me of Tom from MySpace’s famous photo 😂

I’m working on it 😉
I wonder how these would work on door hinges?

Evan Perry sent you some slugs!
327 fed mag plz plz plz its such a q little badass round
Would you be interested in testing 3D printed arrow heads?
Love that you mention @TAOFLEDERMAUS never know how to pronounce that name, but nonetheless they deserve more love.
le 12 c'est la vie
Great video let's try some 9 mm
excellent
3:06 That sounded way loud. You will be glad you had ear protection on for that one.
Okay for your next video please try shotgun slugs made of my grandmother's fruit cake. Better test them against level IV armor backed by steel plates.
Be interesting to see how they go up against soft body armour
You need a 12 Gage roll crimper.
Thought UA-cam banned homemade shotgun rounds
I feel like these rounds would ruin the barrel. Considering ceramic can be used to sharpen hardened steel.
That was my first thought too!

Hello Taoflederfolks!!
Set two small pieces of drywall behind the target to test over penetration.
If it goes through the target and both pieces of drywall you know it's way too much...
Make the door breaching video! Get some scrap doors with frames and let er rip
How about ceramic bb and 00 rounds 🇬🇧
Is this tony hinchcliffe? Or is this another man that sounds like he swings both ways? Jk I love you man..... ..... ...
I seen level 4 ceramic plates for 149.99 today...dang son that's cheap
Five Alive!
How about ceramic slugs for PCP rifles ?!
I would love for you to start covering custom shotgun slugs. TAOFLEDERMAUS is ok, but i find their testing and their targets kinda lack luster.
if hit in the torso, no surgeon would be able to put back in shape cause of all the ceramic shrapnel tho
Only from the mind of Evan.... Man.. that's a dangerous place.
IMA GONNA MELT DOWN SOME DISHES TO LOAD MY OWN 😂 👉 💥
How Lethal is 327 Federal Magnum?
It only takes 53fpe to be lethal..US Armed Forces numbers, not mine
Another great video! Thanks! Please do not sell out to matt carriker's bunker branding money grab company!

Has anyone shot a shotgun shell that's loaded up with a smaller shotgun shell? Like a Russian doll
Be fun to see against some bulletproof glass.
I'd be curious to see how those slugs survive the water test
I would like to see them on a torso
