@@granade8333 drifting isn’t that hard but it takes a lot of skill to place your car like these guys do especially with the horses these guys have. You may have experience in a 200 hp car but 500+ is just a different animal.

@@TOPSYKRETTSHERE you cant 'just stop' or even avoid the lead car when you are sideways at 80-90mph (im not sure whats the entry speed but its big anyways). Throttle and brakes work very differently when you are sideways
@@TOPSYKRETTSHERE I think you vastly underestimate not only the speed they're going at but the tire speed and what it requires to come to a full spot under those circumstances. If Adam slammed on the brake or even tried to stop he would run directly into Field and hard! Both drivers took precautionary measures. Maybe that's why Field responded the way he did after he saw Adam's decision to spin out rather than run into him.
the rain really threw off the whole second half of the top 16, I love that aasbo was at least smart enough to start riding the middle line and set the tone for everyone else finishing
@@dcskate1022 LZ doesn’t suck, he switched to driving a completely different platform that he’s never driven before, and everyone knew that he wasn’t going to do great this season as he had to learn the car, and the team had to keep making adjustments to how he’s driving. In the previous seasons when he was driving the s15, he was constantly having issues with his cars angle binding and they were never able to fix it. He had other pro drivers try out his car, and their response was they had no idea how he was even able to drive the car the way it was. I think next season he’s finally going to shock everyone, now that he’s finally comfortable driving the car, and him and the RTR team have the experience with each other.

I heard some people were mad at Adam Liz about this unless he just had another incident around the same time. It’s real unfortunate for Matt that happened but I don’t see how Adam would be at fault in any way watching these clips. I would be more upset at the wet track that cause way more problems right away.
I've had the pleasure of going tandem with Matt Field before, dude is nuts. Watched him break a tie rod, Matt just grabs a milk crate of of 15+ tie rods from the trunk and his car was back on the road in less than 10 minutes. Absolute drift machine.
Both incredible drivers and avoiding crashes like this when sideways is completely different than normal racing. They both have experience in this type of situation and both did an amazing job avoiding a bad outcome.
I wish Matt would've won that tbh but the rain got the best of him. James Deane still the GOAT for winning FD 3 years in a row in 17,18, and19. Deane, Piotr, and Diago need to come back to FD to bring more competition cause Aasbo couldn't keep up with Deane and Piotr.
he floored it to make sure the car spun around, but stayed in it for a little to long, so the back wheels came down to a grippier part of the track and hooked up. just letting up when you are starting to spin out can often cause you to wash wide, or the front comes back up etc, so often it can send you further out the turn, or just stop in the middle of the line (right in front of the car behind), so it was just an attemt of getting out of the way, but failed.
