I taught the game was just okay, but I wouldn't blame people for not buying it because of the confusing marketing.
There were some genuinely cool things about the game (the character interactions and Scheherazade) but unfortunately it feels unfinished.

It was an incomplete game and worse experience than anything out there it was trying to copy.

Agents of Mayhem was fun. The characters were fun even Gat though the issue that lies there is they kept saying it wasn't a saints Row game despite having Gat in marketing, king being Pierce, and Safeword being Kenzie. They should have put right said this was a spin-off to Gat out of Hell's reboot ending.

I personally think AoM is the best post-SR2 Volition game. It's not perfect, sure, and the marketing was absolutely horrible, but not only did it try something different, it actually nailed what it wanted to be. Gameplay was fun, a single-player hero shooter is an idea I don't think I've seen anywhere else.

I would say Saints Row the Third is the second peak because that is what kinda sent the series to hell. It’s success from gory violence, to over the top weapons, and overly sexual and vulgar scenes made the franchise embrace that more to set it apart from GTA. Now I can say that AoM was the most ambitious in revamping the story, but it sucks that it felt so barren. The game kinda felt tedious and monotonous. It has potential that was wasted
@@thewriter8762 Oh, I absolutely see where you're coming from, and I thoroughly agree AoM feels like a massive wasted opportunity. I think of the game as a 7/10 at most, but the reason I still prefer it over SRTT (even though I've played the latter much more) is simply because of what it tries to be and how its tone is actually fitting for the experience. It's a cheesy saturday morning cartoon ripping off stuff like G.I. Joe, TMNT and the Transformers, and it doesn't feel as... I don't know, disrespectful? to have Volition approach the game like that, compared to the path the Saints Row franchise took.
Red Faction Armageddon is a pretty solid game.

I really didn’t know much about Agents Of Mayhem until this video which says a lot about it’s overall marketing and impact.
The Saturday morning cartoon angle is a neat idea but implemented badly because latter-day Volition couldn’t commit to any solid ideas. Case in point, why is there edgy adult content like Hollywood’s 18+ film and the Saints Row characters in a game that feels like it should market itself for a much younger audience?
It doesn’t help that Eidos Montreal’s Guardians Of The Galaxy game wound up doing everything Agents of Mayhem was attempting without a badly designed open world and half-hearted design decisions.
I legit hate 99.99999% of the people on UA-cam but this dude is fuckin hilarious.

Still remember Agents of Mayhem getting announced, arriving, getting released, doing nothing, fading and then dead without leaving much an impression.
I also had a vague memory of some SR characters being in it. And the soccer (or football, whatever) hooligan. Didn't remember the gay ones but to be honest I don't think anyone who made the game was too arsed about those either.
Easily should have been co-op/10 even if the games boring goofing on it with friends makes it fun

I played the game at launch - and thankfully only rented it - but i remembered nothing from the story outside Johnny Gat being a cop, because that is funny (according to the writers).
Could have sworn the other team-members are with you all the time, but i guess that's because it makes too much sense having it this way and the game was so forgettable i just assumed they did at least the bare minimum when i tried to remember it.
Let's face it: The reason for you not having any AI-companions is probably that this would have been too much work. AoM screams lazyness to me. And the sales would have been probably even lower if they hadn't teased the connection to Saints Row. I know i wouldn't have played it without that.
Ah, yes. Agents of Mayhem. The not-a-Saints-Row game borrowing the Fleur de Lis and purple aesthetic from Saints Row, with "multiverse" characters from Saints Row with the same voice actors and looks but not the same character, like not-Pierce, not-Kinzie, not-Oleg, and Johnny Gat but a cop... And gameplay that looked like a watered-down Fortnite or Overwatch, years too late and long past the heyday of the battle royale hero shooter craze. Can't imagine why ANYONE wouldn't be interested in buying Agents of Mayhem! I honestly don't even know if the gameplay is good or not, but the "is it a Saints Row game or not" marketing to this title was horrendous, and _almost_ as bad as the infamous "Haters Gonna Hate" Tweet of Saints Shitshow 2022.
Also, four characters are confirmed gay in this which makes me think Volition were pushing for some ESG even back in this game. Hollywood, Braddock, Daisy, and Friday being gay adds nothing to their character, so that's definitely some woke pandering going on.
No co op killed this game more the idea was cool but not having co op killed it for me

I think Volition was riding their formula a little bit too hard and basically tried to do the same thing with the massive success of Overwatch except they wanted to bank as little as possible on it and hope for a huge gain and paid the ultimate price for it.

The biggest slap in the face to saints row fans is not including Shaundi and adding Gat as dlc such an big mistake lastly connecting this game with the saints row universe was the worst decision ever I played this game at half price then noped out after a hour I attended to believe that this game originally had multiplayer in mind and should have never been connected with saints row.
