Eli has to be one of the most condescending, offensive and insulting character concepts in a video game to date! The literal emasculation and feminisation of a traditionally stylish, strong, masculine, manly demographic. We wanted a real jacked, cool, intelligent gangster, but the indoctrinated far left shit writers gave us a pathetic soy boy.
Well the whole new “crew” looks like bunch of (put offensive adjective here) that would be bullied by The Saints from previous games. I did not have problem with Eli specifically. But he did not fit there as a mastermind and the smart one he should be fine on its own, start a business (legit or not) and build the crew from ground up. On the other hand we got 4 random people here who in my opinion does not make a crew. Shallow empty shells.
To be fair about "larping" in South Park: the game is about children around the age of 10 playing around, pretending to be knights and wizards. Also its Hella good.
They make it fun. There's the real childhood fun cranked to 12 because its South Park and all of the kids are taking absolutely 100% serious, even when it gets stupid. Can some of them actually do this stuff? Well. Mintberry Crunch actually can, and Kenny is resurrectingly immortal so long as his mother is alive so but otherwise....
the game could have been about 4 middle-aged dads deciding to start a weekend gang operation as a way to escape their wives and it would have still been a better story than what we got
You know, in a way, it's almost impressive - Volition had a path laid out for them. Everything was in their favor - they had a whole ass decade of people telling them precisely what they want, loud, clear, and to the point. No beating aroudn the bush or anything, no, the community was as direct as it could get. Not only that, the timing and the circumstances couldn't be better - people are starved for the open-world sanbox crime-sim. There's no telling when GTA 6 will release, and the Defective Edition of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas was just laughable. Sentiment for Rockstar is starting to turn, and it's visible. And so, if they were to step in and offer the old-school style GTA-esque game, people would flock to it, that's how much they're starved. It couldn't be more perfect for them. And yet, with all that, Volition chose to throw it all away. They made the game that, seemingly, only they wanted to play, all the while antagonizing everything and everyone around them.
@@well1012 Except Rockstar was more than happy to release it on their launcher, stamp their name on it, and if we go by comments left in the code (because Wardrum didn't encrypt it proper), we know Rockstar oversight was present during development, meaning that they're just as much to blame. Besides, with constant milking of GTAO, Abandonment of RDO, and now a simple 1:1 port of Red Dead Redemption 1 to XBOX, PS4 (but no PS5 for some reason), and Switch, but no PC still - people are fed up with Rockstars antics.
Its kinda amazing to me that they could have just done a lazy Saints Row 1 or 2 remake (better graphics, a few more features maybe) and been way, WAY better off. And straight up had a better, more feature-rich game to deliver lol
In the end credits, they actually list Reddit moderators and thank them for… being Reddit mods… Also southpark’s SOT is actually fun, it’s a bunch of 8 year olds pretending to be wizards and there’s actual abilities and shit, this larping is just giving you a weapon that still does damage and telling you “oh you aren’t killing them”, like the first level in hitman where they say they’re actors, despite throwing them off a building or blowing them the fuck up.
The craziest part about all this is that they had a chance to save themselves. They should've respected OG fans and realized we're the only portion of the fan base that would go all out for a real Saints Row game. Their was massive hype when they teased us and made it seem like they were "going back to their roots." They should've just delayed the game and did a complete overhaul then. They even had a second chance at this when they dropped the trailer and it got panned by fans. I guarantee a great Saints Row game like 1 and 2, would generate a bunch of cash in this era. I still pay the first 2 and is been almost 2 decades.
The best thing that could happen is a good remaster of 1 and 2, then restarting undercover (the cancelled psp game, there's a playable prototype out there) with those as a base, though i might just have psp on the brain, juat hacked my vita
Umm I like what GOOH and 3 has even years after GOOH was just on my mind but I hate this reboot, I'd take the previous games but 4 because 4 has nothing to do with Gangsters and GOOH is a DLC focused on Hell and not really Gangsters but it has the stuff that is wanted like guns and gun guns, not laser stuff.
Just don't think any studio well green light a project like OG Saints. They're just too scared of controversy. No more dildo bats and pendulous breasts.

Nu-Saints Row feels like it was made to appeal to pre-schoolers. Like the focus group was these kinds of parents who pecked away at anything even slightly dark or edgy resulting in nothing but the most sanitized product possible.
It is embarrassing one of their members only reason to be in the gang, is to just buy a waffle maker, get some kids toys, and do karaoke. The shirtless guy they keep reminding you is shirtless. Or the fact the characters are playing a boardgame that looks like it was made for babies with the wooden farm animals. That the fuck is that. Or how they wanted to change their Fluer De Lis logo into a waffle shaped like a cat. Are they sure these are even college students?
You know, this plot would've improved tenfold if they killed most of the characters off. Have it so the story ends with a very angry boss having lost the other friends as things progress, the gangs could've killed two of them, then leave a survivor who turns on the boss out of paranoia (possibly fueled by the Marshall asshat) which you're then forced to kill. That way you filter these Saints from whatever this was into a proper, scarred gang. It's amazing how much of an afterthought the Saints are in this Saints Row game.

As a hardcore SR2 fan, one of my top 5 favorite games of all time. Thoroughly enjoyed SR1 and SR3 (even though I agree it was a dramatic departure from the first two). The reboot is such a disappointment / disgrace. And the worst part is, it probably cancelled SR for the foreseeable future.
I'm gonna openly admit. I watched the scene where that "King nerd" guy "dies" and I had a little chuckle. That said I only did so because I got the reference, and the reference itself is what made it humorous. Really that's...the only thing about this game that gave me any emotion other than scorn, anger, and disappointment. A bad rendition of an actually funny moment from somewhere else. My friends and I love to jokingly state we're "representing" whenever we wear purple in any other games because we loved this franchise. SR2 was my favorite for story, but SR3 was what got my closest friend and I cooping every game we could find. SR4...I'll just say it was fun for coop and leave it at that. When I heard Saints Row was coming back, I was so excited...then I saw the cast...then I saw the EGS exclusivity...then I saw the reviews...then I saw the Twitter posts from the devs attacking OG Saints row fans like me....Yeah. The idea of a bunch of modern college dropouts wanting to become gangsters is not terrible. Then after credits you could have someone kick open the church doors and ask whose been using their trademark, revealing like Pierce, Shaundi, etc where you set up a potential sequel with both the new saints and old saints.
Super funny review, really well edited as well. Have watched many reviews on this game knowing it's bad hoping for someone to review it in an honest but also hilarious way. You did both very well. I was super surprised to look down and see only 1.47K subs! You have the demeanor of someone that's been doing this a long time. Love the jokes and format hope the YT algo works in your favor and I hope to see many more funny vids form you.
12:38 whats good about this scene is you actually get to know a personal thing about one of your roommates thus giving her a bit of depth the bad thing about this scene is this is the only one like it in the game and if you wanted to know anything about who they are any further its not in the game its on the website but im supposed to care about these people it feels like alot was cut out. also this is the first game where i hated the writing so much i felt compelled to look up what the writers did previously to make sense of why it was so bad.
For me, it goes 4,1, 2, and 3. SR2 is the best game, but the tone and story keeps reminding me of GTA. 3 is my favorite because it completely separated themselves from that GTA crime drama feel to nonsensical fun and satirical world that makes me wanna keep coming back. Too bad SR4 took an absolute shit all over that.
hey, im not a bully or anything, never been one... but if i saw a person like who dresses, talks and acts like eli in real life i would make an exception, he just raises some primordial instinct out of me.
as someone who was probably the exact target audience for this (a queer twenty something whos a dork) the way it managed to completely repulse the audience its meant for is honestly really impressive. not many games manage to do the exact opposite of what its supposed to
Hey our characters are super queer and quirky and unique and say marvel-tier lines every 20 seconds. Why arent you sold yet? How?? QUICK add a rainbow flag in the crib!!
I've watched plenty of videos mocking the game already, but yours stood on its own, good job. Also f.uck that cat, what were they thinking. (I have to censor it, otherwise UA-cam won't even show my comment.)
That cat is nightmare fuel they could’ve got a free 3d model and just rigged it. I’ve seen that reused n’ abused anime cat 3d model for mobile games and it look better😂
These devs were so disconnected from reality and their fanbase to the point where its borderline demented behavior. Just gonna replay sr2/sr3 for the 10th time
An amazing video. Hopefully when the game I’m working on comes out, I’ll be able to get UA-camrs like you who actually speak their minds to talk about it.
this was a hard review to watch and not cause volition getting shut down this week and not anything to do with the reviewer BUT GOD DAMN SHOWING CUTSCENES this game sucks so hard I cant even get a omg thats bad giggle from it I just feel sad
The Flowchart: Step 1: Target franchise with a passionate fanbase Step 2: Hire people based on diversity, not merit Step 3: Allow incompetent hires full control Step 4: Distort the vision of original creators Step 5: Butcher franchise to appease Twitter Step 6: Attack and mock the actual fanbase Step 7: Call paying customers racists and sexists Step 8: Deliver trash, kill franchise, then go broke
I think they knew they had crap on their hands, so they tried to make it so bad it's good, but when you intentionally try to make something like that it immediately disqualifies it. They tried to make the video game version of the room, basically. It did not in any work.
I really hate how dumb they made the boss in this reboot, and the fact the plot is pretty much based on their failure from trying to be a class clown in the opening mission, when Gwen was telling the boss to stop being dumb. Yet even though their stupid actions are why they didnt get their raise.. as dumb as that plot sounds for a gangster already, the Boss being an idiot is why they had to become a gangster. Its just awful writing. I don't know who the hell directed this nonsense. They forgot their boss is military trained right after the first mission or something.
The most funny thing is the knife the boss gives to nahualli called judas knife lol its a bit on the nose but you know hes gonna stab you in the back lol
I wouldn't even play Saint's Row ESG 2022 if it showed up as free to play on Game Pass Ultimate. Bye bye Volition. Get broke, go woke, croak. Excellent video, you saved me sixty dollars.
Some of them run outside of the mission area as well and one of the bugs that can happen during any of the big fights is your character can get Blasted through the map and all your weapons to messed up as a result
I gotta say its SO FUCK*N sad to see such an amaze franchise end up like this. From someone that had tons of fun playing SR3/SR4 i just gotta say i dont even want to do some piracy to play this game, its straight up bad.
Funniest gaming content I’ve seen in a while, and that’s special since middle-length gaming content is probably the hardest to have an original voice in and even more so to be funny. Glad to see lesser known creators get attention and looking forward to your inevitable blow-up
Saints Row 2022 is dumb, and you captured its flaws and banality perfectly. I've only liked it when I was screwing around and not doing the missions. I will say, I hate Neenah the least (for what it's worth), and have had many daydreams of forcing Kevin into a shirt and stapling it to him.
"I want to turn on my stove and french kiss it" I love that comment for playing this game. Anyone who plays through the entire game desirers a medal. Or maybe a real life Gat outfit.
Thank you for keeping it real. Its impossible to play this game without screaming the F word I dont use anymore many hundreds of times at the screen. It has an A and GGs and a T.
This game tanked so bad, it killed Volition. I don't like aspects of the previous games, but this being the current end of the franchise makes me disappointed that AoM couldn't have been reworked better... or just given us a Time Heist game for 5.
After watching this I couldn’t agree more- the saints row reboot was a sponged down softened up take on the franchise, they nerfed out what saints row is- Saints row was a gritty, dark game mixed with humour and goofiness- just enough to keep you captivated and interested. The gameplay itself is horrific- the mass amount of bugs & the enemies themselves are essentially sponges, gun balancing is minimal, if not next to non. The graphics are disappointing. Comparing this cat to the one in stray- makes me wonder of volition was smoking crack during production. The characters in this game are mere teenage Netflix stars- that of: riverdale and others much like it. It’s a shameful game that tried to be trendy and hip, which ended up with low sales, bad scores and volition themselves now being out of business. As of writing this the game is now for free on PS4/5 as a monthly game. If that doesn’t show you how shit and disappointing this game is- I don’t know what will. For me Saints Row 3 was the last enjoyable and intruiging game- yeah there were a few blunders but the story was good, sode missions were fun & & the odd moments with piers were so iconic. I find myself replaying that than paying full price for the 2022 garbage remake
they based the black character off a little black kid who was on shark take with a bow tie bussiness. Im spreading devious fake news, but it sounds plausible enough.
Here and found you just after Volition became a historical footnote. Great review and presentation, you have a perfect personality for this gig! I'll admit I ordered the game at release for full price and paid for the DLC expansions. I R E A L L Y wanted this to be at least good, great being unlikely...so good was acceptable. Literally from the first mission driving home my jaw was on the floor. I don't cringe easily but I can say that 80% of this game was pure cringe. Not funny, not ironic, not serious, not heartwarming, not entertaining - just glitchy, unfocused and cringy. There were a few missions that were fun and some of the business missions and side hustles were fun / original - but that's only 20% or so of the whole game and there is so much cringe to wade through to get to those little moments that I probably wont do another playthru again. The first DLC had a really cool final heist mission, but the intro and setup was a joke and it was entirely too short. Second DLC for the murder island was another decent idea that could have been REALLY fun if it wasnt served undercooked (a running & recurring theme for SR2022)- after a couple fun hours leveling it up I probably wont play it again. The third DLC....more larping...Yeah, I paid for it I guess...but I'm not going to bother.
I’ve been really not trying to spoil any new games for myself. I’ve ruined a lot of games for myself in the past, by experiencing the whole game as watching a video before I get a chance to play it. I don’t mind watching a video about this game.
The Algorithm brought me here. You seem pretty cool,so here's a comment so others can see you. Good luck, and yeah,I havent' touched SR since 2 and Im kinda glad I got off the train then.
I still remember when the original came out. Then something i never thought would happen, the second one came out. Then i wish nothing else ever happend to it
I'm putting Saints Row (2022) in the same category that I put season 8 of Charmed and RoboCop 3: "Franchise Continuations That Technically Exist but That Everyone Should Ignore."
18:15 that "death" is a reference to a death scene in an old action movie and thats actually hilarious look up "The Worst And Longest Death Scene Ever!"
I maybe part of the small number, but I really loved SR 1 and SR 2, and I liked SR 3, SR IV, GOOH and AOM. SR 2022 though, idk man, I really wish the devs did not go that route and dissed its playerbase. I agree with your review.
If you watch the behind the scenes for the making of the game. You will see it was made by Geeks that got beaten up by Nerds.

@@hardboiled2987JUST a rainbow flag??? There are a lot more flags, bigot!!
Forspoken remember that

I've watched plenty of videos mocking the game already, but yours stood on its own, good job. Also f.uck that cat, what were they thinking. (I have to censor it, otherwise UA-cam won't even show my comment.)
That cat is nightmare fuel they could’ve got a free 3d model and just rigged it. I’ve seen that reused n’ abused anime cat 3d model for mobile games and it look better😂
It shows how wussified the game became, going from gangsters with a tiger to some ugly, low pixel house cat for a bunch of nerds.
These devs were so disconnected from reality and their fanbase to the point where its borderline demented behavior. Just gonna replay sr2/sr3 for the 10th time
They really mapped the crouch button in their modern 3d 3rd person shooter to the same button as Super Mario for the NES. Brutal.
they refuse to make saints row 1 and 2 style games they just dont care what its use to be fans like
That car girl treats the car in this scene as if it’s a death scene.
Im glad in every review everyone also feels that primal urge to hate Eli
The game so bad it killed the studio.
9:16 They got money for expensive knives but not for Rent, food or that damn waffle maker that they could've stolen.
I have no idea how your video ended up in my feed but I'm happy it did.
This was a legit funny watch and you have a gift for editing.
The Flowchart:
Step 1: Target franchise with a passionate fanbase
Step 2: Hire people based on diversity, not merit
Step 3: Allow incompetent hires full control
Step 4: Distort the vision of original creators
Step 5: Butcher franchise to appease Twitter
Step 6: Attack and mock the actual fanbase
Step 7: Call paying customers racists and sexists
Step 8: Deliver trash, kill franchise, then go broke
I think they knew they had crap on their hands, so they tried to make it so bad it's good, but when you intentionally try to make something like that it immediately disqualifies it. They tried to make the video game version of the room, basically. It did not in any work.
"Like a Netflix adaptation" sums it up perfectly.
man 2022 was a shit take on alot of games wasn't it. they let buzzfeed make a video game about gangsters and we ended up with hipsters of mayhem
Dude I thought you were some big time creator. You deserve so many more subscribers
This review is better than the game itself. Sad times we live in.
Ong i wish it was a remake of the saints row games that i never got to play😭
It’s absolutely wild that this game came out in 2022 and looks worse than GTA V. A GAME FROM ALMOST TEN YEARS PRIOR
I do FULLY believe SR2022 was an inside job, like I resonate with the title of this video so much.
I’m glad this was in my suggested. Your humor and delivery reminds me of early 2010’s youtube. Great stuff.
The ECW transitions are a great touch
Ik 3 isn’t really good but you can’t deny that Oleg is fuckin dope
The most funny thing is the knife the boss gives to nahualli called judas knife lol its a bit on the nose but you know hes gonna stab you in the back lol
Larping has no place in a real saints row game
There are only two REAL Saints Row games: Saints Row 2006 and Saints Row 2.
shit you were right, now i guess it really is the end of sr
Great video Tyrone. I watch all your other ones, they're good too. Keep it up and the algo will pick you up. You appeared in my recommended.
I wouldn't even play Saint's Row ESG 2022 if it showed up as free to play on Game Pass Ultimate. Bye bye Volition. Get broke, go woke, croak. Excellent video, you saved me sixty dollars.
Screw ESG... it ruined everything good about art.
Amen
@@Eknowledge7Yep....its a cancer
You’re one of the few content creators who made me audibly laugh multiple times, you’re hilarious bro
Some of them run outside of the mission area as well and one of the bugs that can happen during any of the big fights is your character can get
Blasted through the map and all your weapons to messed up as a result
Dude i was so pissed at this game, SR2 was my childhood WTF happened to this franchise
I nominate we rename this to “Saints Blow”
Good news: This studio will NEVER be allowed to make another game. Embracer will liquidate them.
Glad to see lesser known creators get attention and looking forward to your inevitable blow-up
Easily becoming one of my favorite creators
Saints Row 2022 is dumb, and you captured its flaws and banality perfectly. I've only liked it when I was screwing around and not doing the missions. I will say, I hate Neenah the least (for what it's worth), and have had many daydreams of forcing Kevin into a shirt and stapling it to him.
Jayson is my BBC gaming soul mate. Love you bro❤
Nigga what
"I want to turn on my stove and french kiss it" I love that comment for playing this game. Anyone who plays through the entire game desirers a medal. Or maybe a real life Gat outfit.
Great vid, man. UA-cam recommended it to me a couple of weeks ago but I lost the link. I just remember the title randomly now. I'm subscribing.
One of 4 people, what an honor? First video ive watched, good shit.
Thank you for keeping it real. Its impossible to play this game without screaming the F word I dont use anymore many hundreds of times at the screen. It has an A and GGs and a T.
This game tanked so bad, it killed Volition.
I don't like aspects of the previous games, but this being the current end of the franchise makes me disappointed that AoM couldn't have been reworked better... or just given us a Time Heist game for 5.
turns out the final product was, in fact, an inside job
but by the time you see this comment you'll already know
Dude I was dying at the 18 minute mark 💀
Very underrated channel
Brother, you're editing is on point! I love more videos from you!
12:29 nah dog you didn't have to do Russell like that 😭. It should have been Ben Simmons
These videos are so good you definitely one of my new favorite UA-camrs
love your reviews bro. it always makes me laugh when u re write the game way better in the course of the weeks u made this video
Damn dude you deserve way more views/subscribers, your videos are really high quality 🔥
Brother has a great sense of humor. The video is funny AF.
can't wait for NU Saints Row 2, yeah right, lo
Just found your channel! This channel definitely deserves more subscribers! I'd love to see you review more "GTA clones"!
12:21 developers should of left this part out 😂 good video by the way
I can hear him shit on my absolute favorite games and not even mind. Really loved this video!
The Algorithm brought me here. You seem pretty cool,so here's a comment so others can see you. Good luck, and yeah,I havent' touched SR since 2 and Im kinda glad I got off the train then.
That FBI quote at the end had me rolling, instant sub from that
The shirtless guy is gay? I thought he was the husbano of the writer
Goddamn that was great, especially the money fight scene. 😆
Micheal Bay wouldn't even direct a stunt as stupid as Nina did lol
I still remember when the original came out. Then something i never thought would happen, the second one came out.
Then i wish nothing else ever happend to it
That comment about locker shoving got you a new subscriber!
