I still have my original battery in my 2000 that holds hours of charge and I cut it open to create a Pandora battery and penciled in the pcb trace from back when it was released. Crazy my battery works flawlessly after all this 16 years later
Just picked one up today on the secondary market and couldn't be happier. Spent 50 dollars and got 1 game and a movie. The owner was unsure if it worked or not and I figured worst scenario I could have it for parts. Luckily it fired right up. Had a screen protector and all the buttons were responsive. And the UMD drive worked. Can't wait to mod this baby up!
50 is a big W For Pretty Much All U Can do With it . I Have Ps Vita Which Literally Has A Built in Psp After mod So I don't need Psp Cause my Vita Can Do Anything Psp Can . But Psp/Vita My Fav Portables Of All time Goated Handhelds !
I had a PSP 3004 back in 2011 or so, got it again in 2022 & then in 2023 got a PS Vita - love them both. I play PSP games on the PSP itself even though the Vita can completely replace the PSP - I want the authentic experience :) And I use my Vita for Vita games as well as Android / PC ports.
Just got a 2000 model and a copy of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep at my local retro game store for a total of 118 USD a couple days ago. Glad I did, cause I wouldn't have had another opportunity to get a good deal on one.
I love my psp 1000 I recently got napoleon dynamite umd movie for it brings back so much memories. Thanks for the video always good to see someone talking about this system 👍
I have my psp still and needs a new battery, where did you get your battery from? Psp definitely a great hand held. If the new battery won’t work I’ll probably just buy a ps vista. Great video ❤
I just got a psp 1001 for $50. Only bad thing is no charger and one speaker doesn’t work. I can still charge it with my ps5 charging dock adapter since it’s basically the same as psp charger Update: realized both speakers do works. I got a replacement charger.
I feel like PSVita is going to be a much better investment than psp. One good reason to choose PSP would be bigger buttons, since aside from that, PSVITA can do anything psp could do (and better! I played persona3portable with graphical mods and it never looked better)
I have a Vita, owned it since launch. But after playing all the AAA games, I just used it for PSP games. Found out there’s a ton that didn’t make it on the Vita store, so since those games were all I was using it for at that point, I got a PSP. I feel like once I get all the games I want on it, I won’t even touch my Vita again, despite it being technologically superior.
For me a PSP was a better investment because of the bigger buttons. The Vita is a great device but for me it didn't worked out and sold is after a few months.
Recently got PS Vita, while I can use it as PSP using adrenaline nothing ever beat the original PSP experience, not hating the Vita tho, just feels different when using it if you have use PSP before lmao
Yeah. I mostly use my Vita, even for PSP games. But there definitely is a different feeling between the two. For example, while the sticks on the Vita ARE way better than the PSP's stick, it also feels off to use in some PSP games. Daxter for example, it's hard to get Daxter to run directly forward with the Vita stick. He always wants to run at a slight angle no matter what. The screen's another thing. I don't MIND the Vita screen for PSP games, especially once I apply a filter. But, even then, PSP games were clearly made for the PSP screen, not the Vita screen. Without being able to upscale the games like you can on a normal emulator, the rough edges are SUPER obvious. The original PSP's screen was smaller, had a lower resolution, and had some blur to it due to the screen's response time. So a lot of the rough edges and stuff kinda got smoothed out on the original screen, where as it's simply NOT, at all, on the Vita screen. I'd say there's also something, to me at least, having a Vita-2000, that just feels more "solid" about the PSP. Vita feels a bit cheaper and more flimsy to me. PSP almost gave me old Game Boy vibes with how solid it felt to hold and use.
I grew up with the Vita and I’ve nodded that thing so many times. Sadly what I have to say is that the built in psp emulator does have noticeable delay when playing with adrenaline. (The vita’s custom psp emulator).
Something neat to note, is that the original PSP XMB/Dashboard that it loads with Adrenaline, is actually pre-built into the official PSP emulator. It's just disabled and made to boot directly into the games. Adrenaline forces that XMB to load.
It’s easy to mod but it’s also a little complicated because you need to get a special card reader for it. There are a lot of great UA-cam tutorials out there:)
I actually still have it. It works but it doesn’t have battery (& its cover) ,charger, and memory card 🥲🥲 does anyone know where to get (safe options)?
I went to Japan and looked up Super Potato because of metal Jesus and yep I dropped like $40 and got like 4 psp games. Gundam, initial d and other title I knew I was going to enjoy. So I guess my suggestion is go to Japan and buy cheap ass games while they're cheap lol!!
Out of curiosity what are the reasons someone would buy a PSP nowadays over using PPSSPP considering PPSSPP has better graphics and save states. I understand wanting authenticity but other than that I’m not sure what the point would be to get one
Who has a psp???
I have one which is psp go😂
That’s actually sick though
Ayy nice
Just got my blue model 2000 from eBay!
Yooo that’s awesome. The blue one is so nice

Gonna start keeping one of these at my desk for when code's compiling

Did you try Daxter on psp
I used to have a PSP when I was a kid but it's been 11 years since I didn't have a PSP
Would you ever get another one?
i Used To Have A Original PSP 1000 And i Still Have A PSP 3000 With Me Now
I have one to this day since when first came out totally still worth it

I’d say the best option would be from eBay or a video game shop
can we downnload movies and transfert to it ? HD Movies
I believe so
Can you get smack down vs raw on the jailbreak?
As long as it’s a psp game, then yes:) also most ps1 games are able to be downloaded
I have a psvita and modded it to emulate the psp
Haha that’s sick, I didn’t know that was a thing
It mainly counts on condition
I want to get a PSP again but no luck in finding one.
I hope you can find one! They definitely are super fun
that's a handy little time killer.
Yessir
I have a vita that I hacked lol 😂 I have so many PsP, Vita, Ps1 Games and also can Emulate allot of retro stuff
480 or 720? My sweet child. That screen is 272.
PSP resolution is 480x272. The games look awesome on the device screen though
Haha they really do look great for such a low resolution
I just ordered a PSP 1006
I like playing psp games on the tv
where can i buy this
The best place is probably eBay, but a local video game shop might have some too

It’s to avoid potential issues with emulation
There’s nothing better than playing on original hardware. No hoops to jumps through nor nonsense you have to deal with. Physical games forever mate.
Yeah you can but psp are so good stylish and so iconic
steam deck sucks
nintendo switch sucks
sony psp is the defined 2000s generation bought this handheld and go take a walk
Psp was so ahead of it’s time
Have u ever used the steam deck🤔 You can play every single PSP and PS2 and even PS3 games on it
I’d love to try a steam deck. I’ve never had the chance tho
Well, id say, it would be cool if i had a PSP and a Playstation Vita. for me to play in school lol
Lol fr
LOL I remember when no one wanted marvel vs capcom on the ps1 few years back
lol that’s funny
i got one for £15 with 5 games....just need to watch how to get emulators on it....hopefully easy lol
Nice! Yeah it’s a pretty quick and easy process!
Yeah, definitely get a Vita. Much, MUCH better there. You won't loose your PSP/PSX games, either.
I've sold it before😓😓
Xbox and Nintendo?
Our household growing up was the polar opposite, it was always Nintendo and Sony.
LOL that’s funny. I always wanted a PlayStation growing up, but just never got one
I do
I can't mod mine do
How come
my smartphone can run psp games and better than psp but i dont like keys on the screen
Lol that’s cool tho!
I will buy a PSP on eBay
