Only 4 minutes in an i am getting strong Anthony Bourdain vibes. Loving this vid so far. Also love that Dan is back and y'all are working together again!
I'm so glad you got those vibes because Anthony Bourdain is a real inspiration for me, and Japan was his most favourite place on the planet. I'll try to do him proud and cover Japan exploration the same chill and honest way he did on his shows. And yes, so happy to team up with Dan again! He is a busy man, with his own work schedule, but we're figuring out a way to film. And since we're already used to working together, we don't have to figure out the new communication and flow awkwardness that comes when you hire/meet a new co-worker.
The sexy food voice is back!! Amazing as always Martina, I love how you always give a genuine, informative and fun perspective no matter where you go and what you do. :)
Yay, Dan is back! An awesome duo for exploring and amazing camerawork! Anything you post Martina, is always entertaining! I loved this video! The shots were beautiful, the editing was perfect and most of all - you looked so relaxed. Please continue to post casual vlogs too. They are totally addictive. This is my favourite video so far this year that you’ve made! Such chill vibes and a really authentic host. I grew up in London (UK) and loved exploring side streets to find amazing graffiti but never thought to look for stickers! I went to Tokyo in 2019 and I’m going back next year and I can’t wait to take it slower this time now I’m not rushing around to see all the tourist hot spots before I leave.
I grew up in Tokyo and am working in Tokyo too. I went to London a few years ago for the first time. Tokyo and London are different to each other but they have common in term of giving me joy to explore neighborhoods to neighbourhoods, streets to streets and etc.
I really appreciate that we're occasionally seeing the grittier side of things and that alleyways, sidewalks and underpasses aren't neglected here in favour of showing us the *sparkly* sakura-patterned cleanliness of guidebook Tokyo. It's a City, and an old, evolving one at that, and this is the way a local feels walking around their own neighbourhood! Little flaws that allow a place to show it's lived in. Can't wait to see more.
When you waxed poetic about the air conditioners I had to rewind and play it for my husband. We're both so fascinated by both the things you're describing as well as the entropy that occurs- rust, dents, and things slowly changing. He loved your outburst too, and told me to tell you that you're our spirit animal! From one eds zebra to another, you help me build my ladder, especially on days like today!
I’m happy to hear I’m not the only one who thinks this way 😅 i’m quite intrigued by the things in our world that provide us with comfort, safety, and convenience but are often overlooked because they’re not “pretty”. That’s actually why I have tattoos on my feet! They’re so hardworking and never get any love, always called “stinky” and “ugly” so I wanted to cover them in flowers and stars and sparkles ✨

Martina, this is such a well produced segment! Love the transitions. Specially the King Kogi graphics. I've been to Shibuya twice but never strayed too far off the beaten path without a purpose. I did get a tattoo in the area on my last trip. Great to see the hidden side!
That pizza place looks so much like a pizza place where I live, they even have those ball shakers and Tabasco on the table. As an American of the north east (PA, NY, NJ, etc), I think if you felt homesick while living in Japan, this could be a place to go.

Your videos helped me through this last semester so much- Watching your adventures is such a treat and so inspirational for me. Thank you for putting so much effort into what you do! I enjoy every minute of your videos!!
I have IBS and a bunch of food intolerances that pretty much make it impossible to eat out, let alone eat out without anxiety, so I keep my fun and exploration to things other than food. While I still enjoy food focused videos, I do really appreciate when you include non-food things in videos. I feel like this video is an awesome example of incorporating non-food focused exploration. Thank you!! I can't wait to see more videos like this! :)
I just have to say, the animation of "Godzilla" Kogi and his WEEEEEEE roar MADE MY DAY!! 😂😂😂👌🏼 I'm loving these tour videos to the unknown parts of Japan as well, can't wait to see the next adventure! 👑 🐷
I love the style of this video! And what you said about sometimes wanting familiar food as a "reset" hits home SO HARD. When I was living in Japan, I would always go to McDonalds or Auntie Anne's when I got homesick, even though I never ate them when I was back home. I'm adding all of these places to my bucket list for when I go back!
I really loved this video! The style was so chill and relaxed, I watched on my lunch break after a really tiring and tough morning and this just gave me some energy for the rest of the day. It also added to my bucket list for visiting Japan. And I'm so glad Dan is back!!! I always loved your interaction and I can't wait to see him on screen(even a little) again

Haha thank you, not sure if it works but I appreciate the comments no matter what!
Omg The Record Exchange Sticker on that wall in Daikanyama....that's my local record store in my hometown. Boise, Idaho represent!
AHH SO COOL! I love a good sticker wall 😭 so many secret stories
Amazing video! Can’t wait for more 😀
So happy to see you happily exploring!
And finding cuteness in every little corner✨💖
I have IBS and a bunch of food intolerances that pretty much make it impossible to eat out, let alone eat out without anxiety, so I keep my fun and exploration to things other than food. While I still enjoy food focused videos, I do really appreciate when you include non-food things in videos. I feel like this video is an awesome example of incorporating non-food focused exploration. Thank you!! I can't wait to see more videos like this! :)
This felt really immersive, thanks for taking us on your adventures
Yes, yes, a million times YES! Love this content! I love everything you do, but this is just chef’s kiss! 😘
Loved watching this! 😍 I enjoyed the editing on the video, all the transitions and effects were really fun 👍
Thank you so much, absolutely thrilled you enjoyed all those details 😮💨
I also love the backsides of the building, they always give me old anime vibes. ♥️
I just have to say, the animation of "Godzilla" Kogi and his WEEEEEEE roar MADE MY DAY!! 😂😂😂👌🏼 I'm loving these tour videos to the unknown parts of Japan as well, can't wait to see the next adventure! 👑 🐷
The noodle voice over got me crying 🤣💓
I love the style of this video! And what you said about sometimes wanting familiar food as a "reset" hits home SO HARD. When I was living in Japan, I would always go to McDonalds or Auntie Anne's when I got homesick, even though I never ate them when I was back home. I'm adding all of these places to my bucket list for when I go back!
not even a minute in but I GOTTA comment on how great the editing is
I really loved this video!
I miss these type of videos. Please, more!!
Absolutely loved loved loved this video! Cannot wait to see more of your Tokyo Tours. Great work Martina!
The way your hair matches the Sakura so perfectly ✨🌸
This tour is amaaazing! I miss being in Japan so much, seeing the streets, the vendors, the back of the buildings and the air conditioners is just awesome haha I also love the back of the buildings and the busy streets as an aesthetic. Thanks for your amazing work
Oh my GOD!
Dan is back!!!!
Thank you for sticking up with Martina!
I absolutely loved this video! The artistry of the video editing is fantastic. It’s like a little movie adventure. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. It’s nice to know that you’re working with Dan again! 😊
this video is gold ❤️ i love what you are doing in this channel Martina
Ahhh! I've been looking forward to a video like this from you again! And how awesome that you got to work with Dan again! Looking forward to this and more like it in the future! :D
The kogi "weeeee" transition was so cute. I love it. 10/10 voice acting
Loved this video! Hope to see many more Tokyo Tours (and other cities/prefectures)! Also, as soon as I realized there was another filmmaker with you, I really hoped it was Dan. Welcome back Dan! So glad to see you working with Martina and King Kogi. ❤️
Who is Dan? I’ve followed her for a long time and I’m not sure I know who that is.
Martina, this video is absolutely fantastic!! I have never seen a video with the setup of, "this is what I see on my walks". I feel like a lot of people just move too quickly and don't take the time to notice the little things around them. Please do more like these!!
So exciting! What a wonderful video! The editing is awesome! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us!🐷💕
I’m so happy for you an your videos keep getting better! Love it!
I love your appreciation for everything around you. It makes me want to go exploring in my own city and find new things I've never seen before. Who knows, maybe Minnesota has its own CROD?
I love to see the evolution of your videos, every single one you make is more Martina than the last.
This video was amazing! So refreshing to see some of the less traveled paths. I’ve been watching your videos since you arrived in Japan day 1 and I’m never disappointed! I can really tell by watching this video that you took so much time and care filming and editing it. Can’t wait for more of this series!
the best part of waking up is an episode of King Kogi in my cup c:
