I think a lot of us are taught by movies and books that romance “will come to us” only by a person or an event…but I think it’s entirely possible to bring and create romance in your own everyday life! Huge tip to get that caramelization on the sweet potato is ripening/aging it for at least a few days after purchasing and before baking at minimum 450 degrees Fahrenheit about 30-40 min AND leave in the oven until it is cool enough to handle! Leaving it in the oven helps it achieve that soft pillowy texture, the ripening/aging and high temp in the oven helps with the natural caramelization (never knew you had to ripen sweet potatoes even after buying, asian mom kitchen tricks for the win)

@@liz-tastic. Nope! I find that its not really necessary and it comes out better without poking holes in them. Also no covering needed, you want the potatoes exposed as much as possible to the heat so it can caramelize.

Martina, currently I'm studying abroad in Spain. This is my first time abroad all alone and I'll be here for 6 weeks. Right when I got here, I had very intense personal problems occuring that have caused me to become very depressed. I haven't been myself, unable to eat at all, and I'm feeling intensely homesick. I want you to know, this video is the first source of comfort I've received since I've gotten here. The way you talk is so calming and caring and insightful and I just want to thank you so much for comforting me (unknowingly probably lol!) during these hard times.
Your videos help me a lot with redirecting my cyclical thoughts that I'm very prone to. It's hard to think about anything else because everything reminds me of this problem, but this video is the first thing that I've been able to bring myself to watch to distract myself that has actually offered me any solace. It was such a relief, thank you so much.

my therapist reminded me yesterday that folks with chronic illnesses often feel extra guilty for being completely incapacitated by a sickness because we're so used to pushing through daily life not feeling great. so i'm here to pass it along that if something comes along and knocks you right on your ass and it take a full week or more to recover, rest up!!!
Have recently discovered your channel as we plan our trip to Japan later this year. I enjoy your videos as they are casual and not "razzle dazzle". You are fun to watch and hang out with as you wander along and show what it's like to live there. :)

I gotta say it... I think you're finding your flow. With the King Kogi Quests and Tokyo Tours... I can't wait to see what you do next. I really enjoyed this video and it felt really relaxing doing my chores while seeing all your different quests! Way to go Martina!
Id love to see you go on a neighborhood tour with satoshi and shinichi. They’re great guys and a cute couple and big street foodies.
wow this channel is the best! great videos, great photography, such a lovely calming voice and attitude, humor, real good-to-know insider tips and more!!! seriously the best Japan channel ever!!
Thanks Sam, such a lovely comment! Glad you’re enjoying my vibe 🙇🏼♀️
I'm a big fan of collecting street stickers! I always make a little scrapbook journal when traveling. I also love finding street art - I'd love you to go on an adventure to find any murals, statues, or graffiti!
Another authentic, fun, interesting video. Thank you to Martina for sharing her vision of the world with us.
Spirit Animal Martina ❤, Anything absolutely Anything you share with us is perfect and exactly what this community wants, fee happy and proud of every upload and moment.
my therapist reminded me yesterday that folks with chronic illnesses often feel extra guilty for being completely incapacitated by a sickness because we're so used to pushing through daily life not feeling great. so i'm here to pass it along that if something comes along and knocks you right on your ass and it take a full week or more to recover, rest up!!!
I love this little sit down, it’s so relaxing. Life has been stressful for me and I need this kind of content. Thank you! Hehe
Have recently discovered your channel as we plan our trip to Japan later this year. I enjoy your videos as they are casual and not "razzle dazzle". You are fun to watch and hang out with as you wander along and show what it's like to live there. :)
That’s wonderful to hear, so glad you found my channel! Please enjoy the videos and I hope you get a real vibe for Japan before your trip.
they have something similar at the Universal in Florida, its called Universal City Walk. its awesome and i always grab a beer, some popcorn and just enjoy the people watching
I’m 10 seconds into the video and I have a question: WHERE DID YOU GET THAT SKIRT I NEED IT OMGGGG.
I will now resume King Kogi Content Consumption. 💖
YASSS MEMBERSHIP/PATREON! Makes me happy that I can support, finally. 💕
Thank you so much Danielle~ so happy to see all these little King Kogi emojis by people’s names 💕
I don't think I've seen the roasted sweet potato before but then I saw it on Komi Can't Communicate and now here. It's great you got to show us all! Thanks for sharing your adventures.
I love the Tokyo Tours. I find so many mundane things in other countries so interesting because they're not common things where i live. And there are very interesting reasons and backstories about them too. So i love them all!
The joy I have getting to experience a place I will never go but love learning about from a fellow EDSer. And like I like ALL the vids - cooking, exploring, updates, quests. Just so chefs kiss
Glad to show you around fellow zebra 🦓 it’s like all the fun, without the residual aches haha
I would marry that yaki imo man! I make my husband stand next to roaster at HMart until the potatoes are done!
I am so glad you are doing so well Martina and that you are having fun figuring out what you want to do for your channels and projects. I am so happy for you.
I could turn my favorite socks into hand warmers when they get holes?!? That's brilliant!
It’s so good to see you back. Your building a ladder video has truly helped me through so dark times. It’s great to see your wonderful face with your beautiful gold light shining. You’re and amazing inspiring peoples. Much love from Wyoming.
Going to jump in here before there are too many comments. Thanks for this Martina. I love your content. Can't wait to join Patreon and support you financially. Sending lots of love and a hug from Connecticut, USA. You are loved! You are worthy! You are beautiful! And you deserve ALL the good things life has to offer.
Ct here!
I love Universal City. If I lived closer I’d probably be there a lot. Was right at Hard Rock Cafe and the park in March!
Also that first time you go through the Mario tunnel and see the inside is surreal isn’t it! The most nostalgic thing.
It’s so amazing to see how truly happy you are back home in Japan 💖
I love that you show yourself trying foods and restaurants for the first time!! Keep it up!
Awesome bike ride and adventure! 👍 📢🎶YAKI....EEEEMO🎶😆
Glad to hang out with you, Martina.
That tsukemen looked incredible, woah!
That little doggy awnn. I'm so happy for you, I hope you are well and having the best on your day 🤗💛
I love spontaneous adventures! I do the sock into arm warmers/compression sleeves too. The potato saying would make a great Tshirt.
So happy I put this in my "watch later" so I could really watch it when I'm not busy. Love you videos. Been here for over 5 years now and love where you're at now.

Martina, I just wanted to say that I think your community is so wonderful because YOU are wonderful. I find youtuber’s communities are pretty indicative of the UA-camr themselves. So thank you for creating such a warm, wholesome community!
