You make these video tours look so effortless and I KNOW they’re not. You’re a lot like the dancers I knew at university: the reason it looks so easy is that you work your butt off behind the scenes. Thank you for going to all the effort to produce such high-quality, incredibly engaging content. You have to love what you do to make things this good. You keep makin’ it, I’ll keep watchin’ and supporting it. Have a great day! 🙂
Well thanks so much for such a stellar comment! And yes, it is a ton of work 😮💨 but I genuinely enjoying planning, filming, editing, and sharing videos with the community. 🙇🏼♀️
lol I related to that so much because I was a dancer in school and all the cheerleaders would say they could do what we did because it looked "so easy"! There are countless hours of practicing nonstop and a lot of hardwork haha Just like what Martina is doing :D I love what she is doing
Now I might not be able to speak for all … but I’m pretty darn sure this is exactly what 90% of the old EYK fanbase wants and loves. We can always count on Miss Martina for an awesome travel/tour video .
Hey Sailor Star Sparkle !! I see your Disney Princess status is still intact, gathering pigeons, random cute puppies seeking your affection. AND THOSE BANGS !!!!! Life in Japan Agrees with you, you seem happy and healthy, the Best We Want for Martina. Stay Beautiful, inside and out, Just Like You Are. !!
I hope Japan's tourism industry is giving you kickbacks because this series always makes me want to visit Japan so badly! The slow eating of the pudding right behind the guy who wanted one but couldn't get it, had me in stitches 😂😂I hope he can get one the next day!
Japan’s tourism is not giving me kickback but I am taking pudding out of the hand of the Japanese people who want it 😂 sorry to that guy… but not sorry 🤤🍮
Martina. I've been watching you for 10+ years, and I am SO amazed at your continued growth. These videos are incredible. Watching you come into your own and have full control of every aspect of the content you create, from location, to direction, to music, to everything, is a true joy. Your style is impeccably your own. There aren't other creators like you. Lemme just say that we are all so grateful to be able to watch the content you put so much work into. We love you Martina!!
Martina : Backstreet’s back… Old 16th year old me from the past : ALRIGHT !!! 🎶 Also, that Purin looks fabulous and so creamy. Custard desserts are classic goodness
In the 25 years I’ve been living in Japan, I’ve been to Tokyo only a couple times. I love your Tokyo Tours. They feel so cozy and laidback. That’s the type of tourism I like❤️
Chinese major here! Since Mandarin is the official language of China, it's perfectly fine to just say Chinese. When you'd want to specifically call it out it's if it's a different dialect/language spoken in China (ie Shanghainese or Cantonese), or if you're trying to make comparisons between different languages spoken in China. If you're not sure exactly, then Chinese is fine 😊
I love your tokyo tours. Japan is one of those countries that I've always wanted to visit, but i've always been too controlled by my anxiety to to go- the idea of traveling to a country so far from home whose language I know nothing off is absolutely terrifying to my brain, esp as a solo traveler. these tours always make it feel a little more approachable.
There are 2 different ways: 1. Try nearer country with same language first, take it as practice. 2. Invite your friends in the first visit I'm doing #2. I have visited Japan once (and the only time I have been abroad). I'm going alone next year.
Learn the language or at least common phrases + hiragana and katakana. You'll be pretty much set. There are also translation apps to help you with the rest.
I hope you will come to Japan one day! There’s a really nice book on Japan, “Tabitomo Life in Japan” it’s bilingual and has a lot about the culture. The cover is pink with two people eating sushi on it. You can show it when you need to ask something.
I just wanted to encourage you to travel to Japan if it is your wish. I just got back from a solo trip. I am a gal who knows absolutely no Japanese. It was way easier than I thought. Once you get over that first hurdle of anxiety, you will be so proud of yourself and realize most of that worry was for nothing.
LOVE that shirt!! Also I appreciate how in depth you go with the directions, even recommending quiter roads. As someone who's probably not going to travel to Japan anytime soon, it's a breath of fresh air to see video footage of areas that aren't the typical touristy spots. Also just wanna say Martina that you look amazing!! You look so much happier being back in Japan and I'm happy you're getting to live out your dream! Thank you for all your hard work.
Idk what it is about you but every time I watch your videos (ESPECIALLY these tours) there is this bubbly and joyous fondness for life blooming in my heart. God it sounds so cheesy, but it's true! I think your warmth and enthusiasm is rubbing off on me or something. Your work and attention for detail is much appreciated, Martina. Wish you luck in your future creative endeavours!
I think my biggest regret was not pursuing study abroad in Japan while in college. I appreciate all the effort you put into these awesome videos and that you allow me to live vicariously through to an extent
Hi Martina! So I got a little emotional at the start of this video. Not exactly sure why, maybe the music, editing/filming style, or your voiceover. But it just felt comforting when your video started and I felt safe. Thanks for creating these videos. Side note: you and I met a while back when we were both living in Korea.
This is "all bark and no bite" ... says the woman who is known to be darn near impervious to spice. I really like these videos. Actually far more entertaining and well done than most travel shows.
the b-rolls, the filming (background blur, use of large focal lengths, slow motion) the edit, the music ...all top-notch, elevating the amazing storytelling even more 🧐🤓🤩😁👴👨😄
You have such a fantastic way of creating an atmosphere with these videos. I felt a little hurried this morning by being woken up traumatically by my alarm and watching this just zenned me out. Made me want to read a book. King Kogi Forever!
Living the dream! Petting doggies, enjoying a good walk and eating good food. Thanks Martina for doing these tours, cannot wait to have little adventures of my own in Tokyo in the future. Sending love from the Netherlands!
Martina, I love your vibe in these! They are so relaxing, and just fun. I am thinking of taking my parents to Japan next year, and I know it won't be as stress-free as this, but I 100% appreciate the elevator, accessibility tips and tricks as my parents will absolutely NEED it. It is a reminder to me that not just people in wheelchairs need elevators, but some of us regular folks do too!
I love how informative your videos are in a light and condensed way with so much personality. It feels like a close friend showing me around; what a pleasure.
One day I hope to go to Japan, I’m just so nervous. The last time I left my hometown I couldn’t leave my room unless I was with someone. Your Tokyo tours have given me hope that one day I can go and at least know a bit about how to get around and what to eat lol. I’ve been watching your videos for probably 7 years now and I can still say you are still enjoyable to watch as ever!!! One day I’ll go to Japan and have the best time of my life and will go “ I know this place Martina has been here before!” Thank you for these videos I enjoy every single one 😊❤
I’m going to Japan next year. I’ll be in Tokyo 4 weeks and I want to explore every part of it. Love the videos. Keep up the great work. I’m putting that Chinese ramen shop on my list. Thank you Martina
Oh HO! The thumbnail doing its job 😮💨 glad to see you here, hope you stick around to watch the other Tokyo Tours and see you in the comment section again.
I want a nibble of all please! LOL. This was so lovely to watch while struggling with my pain that makes it hard to travel about. Thank you for letting us see this awesome adventure/cool sights/helpful etc.
woke up with a headache but as soon as i saw a new tour vid was up i got out of bed so i could watch proper on the tv 😊😊 have to say your hair looks extra flipping cute, especially the fringe
Love how you show the daily-life/local side of Tokyo! My favorite part of traveling and exploring new place is getting a glimpse to what it'd be like to live in the area, and your videos really scratch that itch!!
It’s really nice to see a travel video in an area that’s a little more business-y. It’s nice to see these areas still appreciated, and is a good reminder that adventure can be found anywhere!

Okay, note to self. Do not watch while hungry. Oh everything looked scrumptious especially that magical scone. I love the little hidden away places you find, Martina.
I missed these food videos so much. I know travel is difficult with your condition but I hope that you know these videos are my all time favorite. Keep going! Because this is amazing.
I'm loving making them for you all, and although I'm quite achy afterwards, it gives me a reason to get out of the house and push myself a little to share places and foods I love with the community
Beautiful Martina, what a great job you’re doing with these videos. The food is amazing and the places unique. You should be awarded honorary ambassador of Japan. Take care of yourself and keep the good mood.
That towering scone. 🤤 I actually avoided Tsukiji when I’ve been there, due to how intensely busy it looked. An off-peak day might be just the time for me to explore.
These are always such a delight to watch! I’m lucky to catch it while having breakfast, otherwise I would get extremely jealous and hungry (jungry?) and I cannot wait to be able to travel to Japan myself. As a side note, I love that Martina always points out the accessibility of a location.
I needed this so much today ❤ Your videos bring such inner peace and comfort to face a tough pain day, I'm very grateful for your view of the world, and your build a ladder advice ❤ Thank you Martina!

Martina, you do such an excellent job with your videos!! You put so much heart and purpose behind your projects, it is a true pleasure to watch. I just want to send you some love, respect, and appreciation. Thanks for sharing your beautiful creativity and interests with us. I’ll take all the Tokyo Tours I can get! 😆✌🏼💕
I have visited two of the ramen and udon places you've featured in your old videos. The udon place with tempura burdock and beef, I loved that one, even though I am generally not a fan of udons. I went back for the second time :D. And because I went to this udon place, I was able to find the particular Barley tea that I was looking for. So thank you very much for featuring that place. I am planning for a Tokyo trip in May. I am looking forward to try this ramen place as well as going back to that udon place again.
@@KingKogi In case you might be interested, the tea was Hakubaku Marutsubu Mugicha. The one in yellow/gold trim package with diamond shape teabags. I find this one had more delicate and better taste than the Itoen brand that came in blue package.
Just another comment to thank you, Martina. Things are rough right now (join the crowd, right?), but listening to you explore is so soothing to me while I do my clickety clack job all day. Love, love, love to you.
I love the accessibility tips in these videos, it helps me feel like I could easily get around Tokyo with either a walker (like I need) or a wheelchair (if I have to).

2nd Floor coffee shop looks INCREDIBLE I’m obsessed. I love the vibe the owners have curated and the artistry they put into their foods and drinks.
I was shocked when I first walked in, it was SO COZY and it has the stark comparison of the business neighbourhood around it.
