- On this episode we install an IE 2.0t Performance Intake Manifold. This intake manifold will help our Project MK5 get additional power with its larger plenum, trumpeted intake runners and deleted intake flaps. Check out this video as we show you the install on Episode 5 of our big turbo build.

My injector ports did not come threaded nor did it come with block off caps as you guys installed. I'm working through IE hardware support and the guy asked for fricken pictures. Its like , its your product. I sent pictures of the ports and a clip of this video.
I wish you guys went more in depth in the install. A diy for that intake manifold would be very nice explaining the "custom stuff" you guys are doing off camera. Anyway good stiff, love this series
I just order the ecs intake manifold, I hope I didn’t make a mistake doing so. Hope there good. Thanks for the video
So what happened?
That Engine is so beautiful man good work guys ✊🏽
can't wait to see this running
Can I share this with you brother.
The ELD changed everything the enjoyment and all the sacrifices that we were doing because at the end was all Joy. Now we are between the hummer and the stone shipper receiver and the HOS and DOT/ You can not park here, come back at your app time. You have to think for your health what is better for you and your family and if you have to give up and start something else or reduce it.
Absolutely love the look of this. Currently trying to find this here in UK to fit on a Scirocco R 😍
Always a thumbs up your stuff is very very great very helpful to see some of the updates & extra add on have on your vehicles thank you very much peace
The creeper in the back is distracting.....
🤣🤣🤣☺️
All looks creepy to me
Should build a manifold w/ provisions for port injectors to keep the carbon build up down on these engines
00:03 Michael Moore is that u hiding behind these two 😆
This video was amazing
I'd like to put that motor in my '08 Passat (the one I am supposed to leave stock for commuting).
What did you do with the lines that went to the plastic valve cover? I just got the billet from CTS but no instructions
I want to see this car laaaaaauunch. Whats the weight on this car.
Bros, i drive a mk5 gti with fsi bpy. Wheres the rest of this build?!! I wanna see this beast.
Awesome
There needs to be a DIY of this, because the stock IM no matter how many times its updated sucks...
I own a 2008 Audi a4 Quattro 2.0 t fsi will this work as a replacement? If so how much....can it be bought on rock auto?
nice one
Do you have a video replacing de billet valve cover ?
Are there aftermarket intake manifolds for MK7 GTI's?
I would like to see where I can get this type of manifold
WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE PLUG FOR THE INTAKE POSITION SENSOR FOR THE RUNNER FLAPS YOU REMOVED , SINCE YOU CHANGED THE MANIFOLD NOW THERE WONT BE ANY THING TO PLUG IT INTO , WONT THE TURN ON THE CHECK ENGINE
I wish you guys were doing the mk6 instead. I'm feeling salty lol.
All the flavors and you chose salty.... ; )
Can you show how you did attach that pipe ? What’s the modification?
Can't imagine that standard teflon plumbers tape will withstand the heat, will it?
Ed Mathews yes, standard plumbers teflon tape is pure teflon. Teflon is also used on your non-stick frying pans and other cookware so, yes, it'll be just fine with the comparatively low temperatures seen on an engine.
Hi Guys, very interesting topic- i have a Mk5 2.0FSi (non turbo)-- seeing the way the rudder-flap system works, is it not possible then to use it as an electronic control for ITBs?
I really do not understand why you guys are installing a manifold that has been proven to loose power compared to the stock manifold.
How much is the total to build a motor like that ??or any page that I can buy one engine like that ?
would it make any difference in power/tq if the engine is not remapped and this is simply bolted on?
Ivan Kanchelov No, since the runner faps are removed you have to have the ECU flashed. If you simply bolt it on without being programmed for it, it'll most likely throw a EPC and check engine light.
I'm talking about leaving the old fuel/air maps and just making sure the swap is error free
Ivan Kanchelov if you mean if you were to install this manifold on a factory engine and and make no changes to the tune?
If so then it wouldn't make much difference at all, the factory manifold isn't restrictive on a stock engine and the stock one doesn't really even become that restrictive even on k04 swapped engines.
My guess would be if there was a difference the engine would be a little less responsive and a little more high end hp.
Dingus Kahn what if I were to install a K04 turbo with a stage 2+ tune? Would this prevent the CEL?
hi guys the fuel pressure sensor extender (banjo bolt relocation) please help me purchase ir cant find it on the IE website
just got my ie manifold and i need to know if i need a cts runner flappe deleted kit or not ?
Any write up installs for this manifold for an mk6 gli??
Just had a quick question for anyone who is familiar with the MK5 intake manifold. I’m having issues right now with my intake manifold on my completely stock MKV GLI and I was wondering if I could install the IE intake manifold how my car is , basically stock. I just want to avoid future failures of the OEM manifold! Thank you
You would need to get a flapperless tune flashed onto your ECU to use the IE manifold.
Teflon tape rule: don't cover the first 2 threads! I'm just saying....
fredy gump whats the theory behind that?
I use this manifold on a GTI mk6 and i have a check light on because the flaps, do you can tell me how can i do to turn off the check light? kind regards
Rodolfo
Your car needs to be tuned for this. Go down a few comments from yours and your answer so there.
just a pretty bad manifold. the stock one is way better than the IE. the first downside you going to find is a huge amount of heat that the intake manifold holds and can not dissipate around 15+ more heat iat even with a performance intercooler.
Has anyone found a RFD tune for the IE Manifold?
Can I get one these intakes for a mk7 golf R?
👍🏽
Using an adjustable wrench yukkk
can I get one for my 2009 volkswagen cc 2.0t
why Rs4 injectors when S3 are better ?
Gli_Fahrenheit in this case they were free and will be fine for the build so why not ;-)
How much is this setup
does this fit mk7 gti?
this is the same engine as in the 2006 audi a4?
+Word Up very similar yes
What did you guys do for the evap hose ? I thought IE sold an evap hose relocation kit for that purpose.
this is so much easier on a b7 a4
The IE manifold is shockingly bad and actually reduces flow and power. Your better off with HPA or HET manifolds or even just keeping the stock manifold as they are more than capable for the turbo your using.
Chris Dorn the reason we initially had the stock manifold on was we were going to do a back to back dyno test, but ultimately decided it was too much work. Maybe we could still be talked in to it, but also the plastic ones are known to crack at high boost so there's that.
Yes there is the element of the plastic oem can split but while it's working will perform better if you have done the runner flap delete. I'm a fan of IE products but their manifold just has problems. Looks very pretty but reduces flow. Had a few in our community in the UK try them and they either got rid or had to get them heavily modified to improve flow and if you asked thm their opinion about it they would instantly say its garbage. Remember one guy saying it was the internal trumpet design that is the biggest issue. There are other good manifolds like the HPA or HET, neither of them give any real gains but look pretty, are stronger and can be used for adding extra injectors or meth injectors. To me paying nearly £1000 for a product that reduces performance means there is something wrong.

@@ChrisDornDorny thank you
I wish they stop doing this freaking six hour speech at the beginning
HOW DO YOU RECOMMEND TO RUN THE CATCH CAN LINES? I HAVE THE IDEA TO RUN FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE BLOCK TO THE CYLINDER HEAD TO A "T" AND THEN RUN TO THE CATH CAN AND THEN TO THE INTAKE OF THE TURBO, DO YOU THINK I'M DOING OK? THANKS
