Forgotten Farm Truck! 1967 Dodge D100 Utiline Abandoned For 37 Years! Will it Run?!?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 гру 2024
- I spotted this 1967 Dodge shortbed stepside 2WD pickup a couple years ago in passing by from the highway but I was finally able to stop in and strike up a deal with the owner early this summer. I went back at the end of the summer and drug it home. He parked this gem in 1985 for no particular reason he claimed. It's got the indestructible slant 6 engine and 3 speed on the column transmission and a whole lot of "character"!! Let's see if we can get this thing running! If you're looking for a Utiline I hate to tell you but this one has been SOLD! As always, thanks for watching!

Haha!
Thats because they didnt work and the clutch is stuck
meh brakes just slow you down
@@MortskeRepair 🙃Dude I watched a couple of your older videos and WOW!!!🙃 You had WAY more energy and excitement and positivity when you started filming, what the FUCK happened??💩 You did way more than "will it run" too! Figure out why you're always in a bum mood & change whatever's going on in your life to make you feel that way! You've got THOUSANDS of people that like watching you bro! 😁
@@Lions7.62mm you know what's wrong with mortske... Dum comments on you tube, keep up the good work mortakis
Without a doubt the sketchiest test drive yet...We got no clutch, no brakes, its overheating and the hood , which was arguably the best part of the whole truck....blows off!!! Thanks Mortske, very entertaining.
the hood has a new life....
as the tray bed ....
About 50 years ago I had my baling wire hood latch break and the hood blew up like that on a curve on Highway 66 on my old '55 Ford truck. It scared an oncoming car real bad & myself a bit too...There is always excitement & adventure when you drive an old rust bucket but I wouldn't have it any other way...
that brought back some memories, it was like one of the rides home in my 53 Studebaker truck with a muncie 4 speed when the hydraulic slave cylinder that was never welded in there right would drop out on the clutch, I would be grinding servos and running stop signs all the way home. I've even had a couple of hood flying up episodes too. when it came down it stabbed a hole in my radiator and I had the overheating going on too
@@alt7488 it cracks me up and I guess I'm kind of in shock, all my life I thought those things were big Stout strong hoods a power wagon and that thing just curled up and folded like a Chinese made lawn chair from the 99 cent store.
Seems like the perfect going to town rig for Puddin. Right colors and even has the bed floor removed so he can do his frame chop special.
Puddin' don' need no stinking frame - he'll weld a plate in and call 'er done cause the sides hold it up ... well he will after he talks about it until he almost forgets what he wants to do 🤣 He should call those franken-trucks 'PudDatski's'
You should do a show on that little Honda that was in the back of the Dodge
I agree,
Those old Honda 50’s are cool!!
I agree to!!
@@dennishough3709 couldn’t tell if it was a Z50 or a CT70.
Mortske, in my opinion is the number 1 in "will it run" video's! I don't think many people will drag the rear axle from under a vehicle and NOT take it to sell for scrap weight. Tho it's not worth a lot, i have the upmost respect! Thank You.
Much appreciated Ross!
Utmost
@@davidcarroll8533 Thank you. For doing that so I didn't have to. 😄
@@77yogurt You guys are all the best!
@@MortskeRepair no sir, YOU are the best!!👍🏻👍🏻
I wish my father in law was still around to see this video. He had a knack of getting things to work with some unorthodox fixes. The road test would have had him rolling in the aisles :) Hood pops you stop and Duff bails out the window I lost it after that. great video.
well that escalated. 1h 20 mins onwards had me cracking up! How you two made it back is a modern day miracle. Top Ep Morts!
Thanks much Tom!
need to get Mortske to 100K subscribers. this guy is a legend. another great revival
Thanks jonathan!
Are you ever genuinely surprised that it starts, or do you know it will always start eventually? I keep saying to my wife: you ought to see this guy who can take any vehicle, parked for however long, and get it started. Respect. And best regards
There's always a surprise!
@@MortskeRepair especially the ones that are locked up!

Young guy over on Carolina Custom Classics does too. Awesome stuff!!💯
Mortske, Duff, sammiches, no clutch, no brakes, over heating and hood falling off, great videos
Thanks James!
As a fellow dog lover I absolutely love this channel. You guys make a great team. Seeing how happy Duff is riding along with you makes all of these Will It Runs worth it. Thanks for another classic video.
Glad you enjoy them!
If only Duff could talk.
duff is an awesome dog bud. I wish he was my dog. I have a female boston terrier and she's my best pal
Well said!
@@KameraShy Pissing on the leg of the owner might be out of character .... what with all that shit he talks to Duff
Mortske Repair and automotive archaeology. Loved it. No brakes. No clutch. No hood latch. No Problem.
These are truly the only videos I look forward to every week. Of course that zip tie feller is damned amusing as well, but he doesn't deliver every single monday without fail.
Glad to hear it!
You have to forgive that one legged frostback. He lives in a shack outside of G-dale. Lol
Best part of Monday for sure!
Your dog makes an excellent helper, no back talk, no questions, etc.
Yup
A few years back my buddy had a 4X4 version for sale for $400.00 that came off a local military base (we were looking for a truck my wife could drive). Had to pass on it, it didn't have power steering (don't know why my wife couldn't drive it 🤣)! Thanks for another one Mr. Monday Morning!
Happy Monday! This is right up Dylan McCool’s street I think he needs this.
Keep up the good work.
I live on the east coast time zone in salt country. It's normal to pull a truck in half when loading it here lol
Hate when that happens!
This one made me smile and brought back a lot of memories. I built a 70 W200 out of four different vehicles and traded and bartered for the rest. I needed a pickup to scrounge firewood because we didn't have enough money to pay for propane all winter. It amazes me how you can get stuff to work without buying any new parts. You are a true artist at your craft!
Thanks much Brad!
HA! Now that was a ride, tree stump and all! Oh, and the hood latch debacle was the kicker! I didn’t know you were going that fast! Duff took it in stride though, good dog Duff! Excellent episode, lookin forward to the next one! Stay warm!
World class test drive...love this episode
Cool! You can't kill a slant 6 engine, even with a hammer!
Thanks for great video content!
I've managed to kill a couple!
@@MortskeRepair Me too.
He's given it a good try on that transmission though! I was cringing listening to him "force" shifting.
@@kman-mi7su He can do a give away with the ground down gears.
@@kman-mi7su Grind it til ya find it!
My favorite dodge truck era I had a buddy that had a late 60’s truck and I loved the look it looks real good a little low the hood and rest look real intimidating they’re pertty
That's a heat houser for a tractor.. in those bone chilling Dakota winter days, plowing snow
Made life a lot easier!
AWESOME! DEFINITELY LOVE WATCHING AND LISTENING TO YOU AND DUFF!!!!!!
You rock!
Always good to see more Mopars. Those slant 6's are so tough owners just got tired of driving them back when replacement vehicles were affordable. Now poor working folk have to grow "peace gardens" to keep the lights on and maintain sanity. Maybe ND was way ahead of its time and nobody knew, how many people actually have gone to ND? I bet its like 1% of the citizens. Great video, thanks as always
Hidden secret we got up here!

You walking past the door holding the hood was hilarious…. That poor ol dodge.
great video Mortske! Doing great with all the content. Thanks for the consistency and care that you put in!
Thanks for the kind words!
It's the beginning of the video, but if it's a 225, that thing will run. I love those engines.
I gotta say when I first saw this I thought for sure it was going to be locked up but it actually turned out to be one of your best revivals sounds good as well. Great video keep on digging these old vehicles out of the trees I’m doing that with a 76 f150 that’s been sitting for 27 years I can’t wait to get it running
Thank you Mortske and Duff! Another great video and entertaining start to the week!
Our pleasure!
Great fun video as always :) Now, being from the UK, I wouldn't know a Dodge from a GMC, BUT, that is a pretty looking truck under the dents and disorder, and would be worth a few thousand over here. Watching your videos and some other channels has certainly warmed me to the idea of one day maybe owning something from over your side of the pond - not a Chrysler Neon though or a PT Cruiser ! You can keep those !
Keep up the great work and keep yourself, Duff and the shop safe.
I had a red nose that would jump out the window of my 55’ Chevy at the dardest times…lol good ole duff smiling the whole ride! Priceless
Best content by far...Duff knows his stuff! Keep it coming
1967, my birth year! Summer of love. And you got it back running in the winter!
This was probably my most favorite test drive you've done yet and I've been watching your shows for quite awhile. My luck I would have broke down 10 miles from home and have to walk home in the snow. Keep it going. I don't know how you get some of that junk to even turn over.
Thanks much for watching!
Never ever a dull moment with you and the Duff!
Epic test drive !!!!😂
I was crying laughing so hard when the hood hit the ground! Thanks for the laughs
Our pleasure!
The best test drive yet! No shortage of drama.
In my opinion this was one of your best episodes yet. No brakes, no clutch, grinding gears, a tree jammed between the cab and the box, and the hood flying back over the windshield, LOL! It don't get much better than this. I might have to watch this one a second time. It was a miracle you found that go-pro battery, unreal! I couldn't have enjoyed this video more, already looking forward to next Monday morning's shenanigans!
Thanks much Paleo!
Awesome video
@@carlstclair9920 Thanks much!
"Hey, wasn't it you who put oil in at the last station?"
"If you're saying I put the wrong oil in, I didn't, I used 10w30. And oil would have nothing to do with this situation"
"True, but you can't latch the hood too well if you don't remove the can!"
Awesome videos!
I forgot about that classic!!
Duff is living a great life. That old engine is ripping it-the indestructible sixes!
She loved it!
Once rolling, change gears by matching revs to approximate expectation. Old truckie skill well worth knowing even in this synchromesh era. Nice trick using ice for startup 'wheelie'! 😃
What a test drive 🤣 the surprises just kept coming 👍🏻🇬🇧
Been great watching the channel grow Mortske! So hard to kill those old trucks!
Thanks for watching!
"Organization is KEY, when you got a lot of CRAP!" Truer words have never been said for guys like US!!
Well, some folks don't think so but I like being able to find my junk!
@@MortskeRepair Lol... Well, If you can't find it, you might as well NOT have it...as far as those folks go, that just means they aren't guys like us!
Crap that you can’t find Is just crap. ;)
As you get older and buy parts you also get a spare for next time.
It very satisfying when you put the spare away you find you already had one.
Now that is organised :)

My friends aren’t that nice ha ha :)
My wife knows better than to ask me to tidy up. She just asks me to fix stuff. Davo’s Shed is exactly that.
But I know exactly what you mean.
"We got quite the debacle, Duff!" Instant t-shirt slogan. And using the magnet rod as a pointer! Thanks and cheers from Maine!
Dude that was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning part showing the actual retrieval. Are we going to see you get that mini-bike going too someday😜? Thanks for the hard work and dedication, you undoubtedly have the best and truest “will it run” channel on UA-cam.
Maybe!
Tillotson did just come out with the 224 engine that's supposed to be pretty hot
Duff knows his stuff...
And if you can’t find em grind em !!!
Classic Mortski
Love it
Nice! Haven't yet had a Utiline but I drove a '67 Sweptline with slant six and three on the tree in high school. Top speed of 70 mph, no matter how long you had it floored (cough). It had the typical floor rust holes but otherwise was pretty good, and only cost $400! That was 1982, mind you... This one really ain't bad given it has another 40 years on it. :-)
Sounds about like my 68!
Even in 1980 a 1968 step side Dodge was a eye turner and to me my work truck, I hated that straight 6 but it ran like a beast.😊
Love the duff cam. Not a dodgey fan, I was hoping for another sweet infomercial. Or at least a fire. This would be the perfect rig for your neighbor that runs the lawn mower around he only needs one gear. You got to call this one vanishing point cuz once you get in it the house just gets looking smaller and smaller.
I absolutely love this truck! Even though it needs a lot of love, I can see it being a great project. Glad to see someone scooped it up and it will get another chance at life.
Mortske got a question for you, When starting any vehicle with a clutch and no safety switch do you, A - Make sure it's in neutral and turn the key, B - Depress the clutch and turn the key, C - Why do people ask me these stupid questions.
Old vehicles don't have neutral safety switches, that didn't start until the 80s.
full send n grind s always a good choice
Usually we check to make sure it's in neutral
@@michaelupton4523 I said, any vehicle with a clutch and no safety switch I don't understand where the old vehicles came from.
@@terrybecker1515 It would have to be running already.
Thanks Mortske, I needed a good laugh today. One of the best test drives ever.
Glad to hear it!
1st time I ever done went & seen a Bluetooth driveshaft !! Did you invent that how much is a conversion going cost ? Who would have thought such far reaching technology would be found on this here channel ? Love your easy humor. Love Duff. Maybe the electromechanical parking brake is in gaged, the electromechanical draw on battery keeps starter from engaging. Dang the starter is on wrong side of engine. Do bolts on this side of truck turn counterclockwise ?
Love the ride. A ride to remember for sure. Did not think it would run much less drive. Proved me wrong which was great..
You and me both!
Don’t forget the Lazy Boy for the Lever Runner. Also, how to get 58 views in two minures (if only $)
Hey Mortske & Duff. I have to say that was one of your best videos. No one can accuse you of scripting anything. I agree that ride will be remembered. Duff definitely approved especially when you stopped and opened the door. Exit stage right. Stuff to chase. I blew up so many clutches in my 69 SS396 4 speed Chevelle in high school and beyond I aced driving without the clutch. Until next time. Have a great week.
Thanks much Bob!
This is why I love this channel.... Hoods over windshields, no clutch, balls to the 20 mph wall! Oh yeah, and there's a lot of Chevy's!
If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough!
I can feel that shifter grind through the screen ! Once you've lost a clutch, you never forget that feeling. The hood deal happened to me on a Colt station wagon. I used rope to hold it down. Classic !
Happens to the best of us!
tour dog is so much patience good dog Duff
I like these old trucks! She actually seems to run pretty good.
The 1960s was a great decade for trucks, especially Dodge. They are the rarest of the 60s trucks on the road today. That old Dodge is worth the effort.
Wasn't expecting the hood to fly up! WHOA! 😆 And Duff taking a nose dive right out the window. The Adventures of Mort and Duff! Tune in again next week😃
Definitely did not see that coming!
Great to see Duff come to life and wag his tail a bit!! I can't believe your daring Sir. Any sane man wouldn't attempt a test drive in that Dodge given the long list of defects, and yet Mortske says " why not"!! Not to mention near twilight and -10 F. I guess that's how things are done in south Canuckistan. Way to hang in there and take one for the interwebs. Always entertaining. Thanks as always!!
I did it for you Gary!
Another AWESOME video sir Mortske and DUFF DOG!!!! THANKS again guys!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE DUFF CAM!! LOVE SEEING HIS EXPRESSION!

That was an adventure. The hood coming up and the look on your face was priceless.
Glad you enjoyed it Bob!
Last week’s episode was an A+++ in entertaining, hard to beat. This episode is right there with it.

I will also remember the Taco Hood ride. Funniest thing ever when you got out to close it and it hit the ice infront of the car. I could not stop laughing. Well done Mortske and Duff. What a good episode. 😆👍
The “will it run “ part was fun…but the test ride was over the top! Thanks as always.
