- I noticed a sign at a gas station with some cars for sale and that lead me to this 1955 Chevrolet 4 door sedan. It's been parked for 50 years at a farm. Let's see if we can get it running! This car is SOLD! As always, thanks for watching!

There’s no way I’m watching an almost 2 hour video like this. Maybe you should do some editing to bring it closer to 45 minutes. I’d subscribe but not for videos this long. No hating. Just saying. 😕
Sure am glad you're not my Uncle. You probably give out socks for Christmas.
We want long videos!!!!!!!+
Yeah, cheesy, used socks with both big-toes peeking through...@@MortskeRepair
Be patient my young Padawan. The videos are about the whole journey from purchase to duff-ride not just the mechanics.
@@MortskeRepair once Santa Claus gave me underwear for Christmas. Probably came from this guy.
Duff was having the time of his life in the back of the truck on the way home.
Noticed that as well.
I think he rolls in poop so he can ride in the back
Greatest “Duff” opening scene EVA!
Running around like crazy dog in the fields finding treasure, then pure dog happiness hanging out in the truck bed on the ride home with tongue, ears, and tail flapping at full throttle.
Thanks Mortske; Love the Duff!
Me too! I wanna hug him!
@Jason1975ism but not till he gets a bath.😂
@@DavidKing-py9dt very true lol
Top shop dog!
By himself Mortske is awesome. But give him someone to bounce banter back and forth and we reach new levels of humor. These two cracked me up!
Glad you enjoyed it
What would Monday be without Mr. M and Duff? A very bad Tuesday I guess...😆
Another Mortske Monday! How great is this? 😊👍
And even a DD Butcher Shop shout-out.
How Neat Is That!😆
"Foot feed" Old farm tractors had hand throttles to set speed for field work. It was an option to have a "foot feed" when the tractor was used in close quarters for better control rather then slip the clutch.
Great info
Had a couple of John Deere’s with “Footfeeds” that would give some extra rpm’s for road travel. 4020 s diesels
Mortske and Mopar Madman Monday ?? What a deal !!! Educational yet entertaining !!
Absolutely
New decal required of the Poop Dog. Well done young Duff.
Sir Morticus and Duff helping to Make Mondays Great Again! 🇺🇲
Hope so!
You did exactly what we would do in our own garage. We would do just a little bit every weekend for a long time. And it was nice to see it being done in one video. This is pure reference gold.
Glad to help
Great to see this one up and running again! It does look like a great project for someone at a reasonable price.
It really is!
I'm enjoying the banter so much! Only 30mns in and it's awesome. I feel so at home 🤣😂
@44:44 mortske hits the starter & it just crumbles & falls apart. Lol I so expected that. I know puddin is gonna enjoy this vid. So much to pick on 😂
@@CubasAutomotive 🤣🤣🤣 poor Mortske. All those starters 🪦⚰
Mortske should stock starters not carb kits.l
@@patriotgaragehaha... yeah, some solenoids, brushes, & bendixes. Great point🤣
It looks like it’s going to be a great Monday!
BTW, I love love love your channel. Can't wait to see Duffy every week.
Yay! Thank you!
Any day is a good day when You rescue an old chevy with your 4 legged buddy!! Keep up the good work sir morticus!!
I like the fact that you try rebuilding parts instead of just replacing parts.
Don't Let DD Speed Shop see this unit
It would be 2 door converted in 24 hours and "fogged" in satin black lol
Beat me to it. But you forgot the flexi-hoses and Cragar Spokes.
Nothing says dd speed shop like a two dirty five.
Too many doors for dd.
@@jrbnomadiccontentcreations8548 he converts 4 doors into 2 doors
I always called them a rock filter. Lol. If you do the brake stuff get a master cylinder for a 62 Chevy truck. At my local parts store they're $30 and brand new. Not a reman. They only use two of the 4 bolts. You have to slightly bend the end of the brake line. I have to go to work so I'll finish watching the rest of this video tonight. Looks like a great project. I'm a die hard Tri 5 guy though.
My first car was a '59 Bel Air with the 235/Powerglide combo. One day I needed to move the car to another spot in the yard, and the battery had just enough charge to turn the engine over about a half turn. Frustrated, I grabbed the fan and gave it a good push down... only to have it roar into life! How I didn't lose any fingers, I'll never know!
Sketchy!!
The Hemingway method, "A Farewell to Arms."
The good old days when we rebuilt thing’s not replace with Chinese garbage. Great video mortske ! Really enjoy your CAR channel .
Thanks 👍
Mortske Monday Madness! Thank You, really enjoy the friendly banter and what is happening up there in S. Canuckistan.
DD speedshop ‘55 , puddin’ blue interior on Mortske’s channel on a Monday night ..don’t get much better 😎
Really enjoyed this one! It is rare you see a time capsule like this, they are few and pretty far between here.. I think you are more than fair on the price. Great start on a sweet cruiser. I had a '59 with a 6cyl 3spd in it, nice "ice cream stand" driver. Same with this one, or a first hot rod.. Thanks for all the tips, much appreciated 👍
Thank you to all. And Chin for putting it together!
Our pleasure
I last worked on a 235 back in 1970. It was in a junkyard salvaged 57'. Sadly, when I got it running, it sounded like someone had a broom handle in the fan. I guess that is why it was in the junkyard. Put a 283 in it and drove it for quite awhile. Nice that this one sounds healthy. Pretty solid for a car that sat as long as this one did.
I once successfully used a bent hanger as a coil wire to start a Chevy stovebolt 6 in a ,70 Nova!
Very cool!
This looks like it's going to be a good one
I already commented but word has it the more comments you leave the more attention a video gets... just wanted to add the banter and midwest humor is great. I'm from the northern rural states myself and it's great to see sonething I can relate to. I also recently bought a 56 GM product and now can't seem to stop watching classic car vids 😅
much appreciated!
That grey box with wires is awesome
Pretty neat
Good job getting it to run. Love the starter box!......You forgot something??....You never open the Trunk! 😱
ran out of time!
HEY! Good morning and thumbs UP! My favorite channel!
Morning!
Good to see her come to life! Thanks for the video. Duff will be Duff! 😊
Great video, love all the guests coming to the channel. 🎉🎉🎉
I can't get the brake lines loose on a one year old car here...
With your talent Wes you could make them out of drinking straws mate 😉👌👍😂😂
Need more Kroil
Thanks for another Mortske Monday! Thanks for the great editing Chin! 🐾🍺
Could you guys imagine the Mopar madman, mortske,dd speed shop Daniel, Derek vice grip garage, puddin, and slick 50, and mojo on the same episode??lol??!
Our pleasure
@@richardbates2367no thank you! DD SPEED SHOP and morstke would be great though
That is a pretty straight car and not too rusty! A great project for someone else to own. Great Monday morning video to keep me distracted.
DD and Mortske, rare treat! Thanks a bunch!
Yep love these 235 l6 engines. I have kept mine going for over 13 years myself with 4 collapsed lifters. Yea I had to adjust them all the way out but It runs great. Timing seems A bit to advanced when you were first cranking It. Nice find man!!! Oh BTW Rock Auto has all the brake parts for that car at good prices. I should know due to rebuilding the entire brake system on my 55 chevy 4 door 2 months ago.
The name "Delco" came from the "Dayton Engineering Laboratories Co.", founded in Dayton, Ohio, by Charles Kettering and Edward A. Deeds in 1909. Delco was responsible for several innovations in automobile electric systems, including the first reliable battery ignition system and the first practical automobile self-starter.
Great info
Very cool listening to you and the Mopar Mad Man banter back and forth 😂 Great to hear her running once again after 50 years. Great video as always 👍✌️🇺🇲
21:51 says what we all were thinking 🔥 and I appreciate the effort
You 2 had fun getting this car running! Yall should do this on camera more often.
I totally agree, two goofballs having fun was quite entertaining
Noted
Mortske Monday! And no glitches or UA-cam slowdowns!
Duff Dog & Mr. Morske getting a true old school again y'all stay on it I love 55s.
Thanks for the video Mortske. Always enjoy them.
I like that new Flux Capacitor box. As always, excellent video! Mojo was missing but Mopar Man is pretty cool too. And Duff is just a baby boy that we all love. Thanks again!
Why won't Popeye's hammer rust? He keeps it in Olive Oil.
Hope you're well, Mortske. Ready for winter?
😂😂
Muahaha
Very good video. '55 Chevy has a special place in my heart. I bought one in 1957, a V8, 3 speed, overdrive. It was just like this one, even same color. Loved that car, it was my first nice car.
There is nothing quite so American and pure than driving down the road with a happy dog in the bed of your truck!
OMG That's a DD Speed Shop convertion waiting to happen right there.
That would be cool!
@@MortskeRepairif dd can do it. So can you :)
He is so worried about the stupid chevy with the garbage ls that won't run right but the ford expedition is just junk ... right bud think you got that backwards
What did you just say?
oof, we got an expedition owner here
Might need someone to interpret this comment for me cause… well, putting words together don’t necessarily make a sentence.
What the hell did you just say? I know all those words but I think you used them wrong?
Hey easy on him he's old . Joe biden wrote that.
Yay! It ran! Can only imagine two young ladies wrangling that steering wheel for 1,700 miles. Fun times but I bet they made lifetime memories. 🌺
Absolutely
At least its not a frikin' diesel . Go Duff! DD speedshop should be nosing around any minute wanting to offload a Briklin ( which is destined for the snow pile this winter). Cheers!
Awesome video as usual. Great to see someone rebuilding wheel cylinders. Something ya don't see much anymore.
You got that right!
Laughed a bunch to this one. 😅 Love seeing the Mopar Madman helping out. Banter was hilarious.
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome video, loved Duff’s antics at the beginning, he can be quite the goofball but he’s still the goodest boy. I’m thinking Duff needs a shirt similar to the stickers you have with wanna go for a R-I-D-E on them.
Really loved this video Mortske! My first car was a '53 4 door Bel-Air, stick six 235! Loved that car! Very glad to see the '55 come back to life! Enjoyed the interaction with the Mad Man and poop covered Duff! Thoroughly enjoyed this video, hope you'll post an update on the cars' future! As always, thanks for the entertainment!
You should do more videos with Mopar Madman. Very funny, you guys work well together

Nice find Mortske!!!!!! Classic 55 4dr.!!!! Love that you are saving em Mortske!!!!!
Great show mort. Really enjoy watching throughout the day makes work go by quicker.
Good to see that it's going to live intact and not parted out. Will be a great car for the right buyer.
Awesome show as always... Thanks Mortske!
You got it running, nice, Mort
Thanks for another good one Mr. Mortske! Looks like you guys had a great time with this ol' '55!
It was!
Nice car, Monday's are always better with Mortske and Duff
Dirty Duff!! 😂 🐶 It's been a long time since we had a runner! WoooooWhoooo! Good job, Mort! 👍
This video was awesome! 😊❤ Thank you for sharing! 👌
OOOH A 55 CHEVY!!!! How neat is that!?
Mortske, it's amazing that you can take something that hasn't run in 50 years and in a few hours with nothing more than a file, hammer, pry bar, and 24 volts of power can make hot garbage come to life! Absolutely amazing! thank you sir! So fun to watch! Edit: forgot about the "Standard" Screw Driver.. lol
Right on!
The flames out the carb and exhaust lol, timing is on point😂
Thank you for sharing and your APPRECIATION to your subscribers Mortske.

You and the Mopar Madman were a hoot too! Funny banter. This is a cool car. Thanks for keeping your content about vehicles!
Absolutely
Looked like a good time with Mopar Dude. Definitely an enjoyable video. Cheers.
Had a good time see you next Monday
Loving the content! Havent had much time to watch recently but when I cant watch I do.
Welcome back!
4:00 Dan at DD Speed Shop can fix your too-many-doors problem. Same with your 56.
Great video! Maybe pick that International up and have a certain Oklahoma wildman up for a visit.
Great video today I really like the 55 and 56 Chevys as most people do I enjoyed it thanks
My son has my Dad's first new car. A 1951 Chevy Deluxe convertible 3 speed. Last full frame off resto 35 years ago. Still a beautiful car.
That is awesome!
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks pet duff .
Thanks, will do!
You’re right, for a 55 that’s been sitting for quite a while, it’s not in too bad shape. Plus it runs! That old girl could make someone a nice easy project! Wish I lived closer! That looked like some pretty fresh sh..stuff the Duff got into when you were picking up the car! Thanks for a Great episode!
Accelerator pedal, is the correct terminology for y'all folks north of the Great Salt Belt.
Actually I've heard it called everything y'all done named off, but I thought I'd throw that in the mix just for heck of it.
MOPAR fella he brings the humor outta you that you normally keep suppressed.
LMFAO, little sarcastic humor for ya.
Glad you had a side kick to kick around, and y'all even work well together.
You know why Duffmiaster rolls in fresh cow pies?
Nope, me either, but my little heeler use to do it every spring, and during the summer after she got a bath.
She'd go out and roll in the sandy part of the gravel driveway, then wait till she got beside me to shake all the dust off from it.
Miss that dam dog
PS
It's been in the 40's at night, and 60 or so during the day here in NE Texas last week or so, dam nice change from 106 plus all summer, and now rain would be very nice
My ole man never bought new wheel cylinders, he bought rebuild kits for couple bucks and hit them with his hone in old black n decker aluminum drill
I've been following you for years. I appreciate how you present your channel and how you are able to restart old engines to make them work and ride again. I also appreciate the models of cars you restore the 1950's ,1960's, 1970 cars are beautiful. I would of loved to have the chance to work with old emgines like that. I am french canadian and I dont speak english so I asked my interpretor to help me to message you. My interpretor will be be available in a long time but I will try to message you when he will be available again. I also wanted to say to you that I really appreciate the American flag I find the stripes and stars beautiful and much better than the Canadian flag. Thank you and continue your great work 👍👍👏
Thanks so much for watching!
Mortske Monday , Yahooooooo , Still the best thing since Velveta cheese . Or maybe canned SPAM . Thank you for a most entertaining video . I thaught you would have figured out the brakes would be in such fine condition after sitting for so many years , they probably gave out while being dragged around by the tractor fifty years ago but at least its running . Once again THANK YOU , you made my week ,Give DUFF DOG a treat and a bath and I'll See you next Monday . Stuart in Ontario ..
Another good one, Mortske!! You and the Mopar madman are funny together. Chin overdosed this week on the drop ins 😂😂
All the best!!
Thank you
Not bolts, "brake nails". The bane of any tri- five owners existence.
Nice old Narley looking car. And you and your friend were funny working together. Great video. Keep up the great work
Thanks 👍
Good to see someone else rebuilding wheel cylinders 👍
Thanks for the video the master cylinder and brake segment were the best .
Glad you enjoyed it
That’s a moonshine car I love it
Mr. Mortske, iffin ya al' had Karl (Sling blade) on the scene, he wooda had dat Chebby runnin' a lot quicker than you two feller's! Tks for the video, it's good entertainment on a Monday morning! Uffta!
Good Afternoon Mr Mortske and Duff from Alabama

Nice fun video upload; really enjoyed this one even if we didn't get to see it take a lap around the yard.
Glad you enjoyed it
