There’s no way I’m watching an almost 2 hour video like this. Maybe you should do some editing to bring it closer to 45 minutes. I’d subscribe but not for videos this long. No hating. Just saying. 😕
Greatest “Duff” opening scene EVA! Running around like crazy dog in the fields finding treasure, then pure dog happiness hanging out in the truck bed on the ride home with tongue, ears, and tail flapping at full throttle. Thanks Mortske; Love the Duff!
You did exactly what we would do in our own garage. We would do just a little bit every weekend for a long time. And it was nice to see it being done in one video. This is pure reference gold.
I always called them a rock filter. Lol. If you do the brake stuff get a master cylinder for a 62 Chevy truck. At my local parts store they're $30 and brand new. Not a reman. They only use two of the 4 bolts. You have to slightly bend the end of the brake line. I have to go to work so I'll finish watching the rest of this video tonight. Looks like a great project. I'm a die hard Tri 5 guy though.
"Foot feed" Old farm tractors had hand throttles to set speed for field work. It was an option to have a "foot feed" when the tractor was used in close quarters for better control rather then slip the clutch.
I already commented but word has it the more comments you leave the more attention a video gets... just wanted to add the banter and midwest humor is great. I'm from the northern rural states myself and it's great to see sonething I can relate to. I also recently bought a 56 GM product and now can't seem to stop watching classic car vids 😅
I last worked on a 235 back in 1970. It was in a junkyard salvaged 57'. Sadly, when I got it running, it sounded like someone had a broom handle in the fan. I guess that is why it was in the junkyard. Put a 283 in it and drove it for quite awhile. Nice that this one sounds healthy. Pretty solid for a car that sat as long as this one did.
Really enjoyed this one! It is rare you see a time capsule like this, they are few and pretty far between here.. I think you are more than fair on the price. Great start on a sweet cruiser. I had a '59 with a 6cyl 3spd in it, nice "ice cream stand" driver. Same with this one, or a first hot rod.. Thanks for all the tips, much appreciated 👍
My first car was a '59 Bel Air with the 235/Powerglide combo. One day I needed to move the car to another spot in the yard, and the battery had just enough charge to turn the engine over about a half turn. Frustrated, I grabbed the fan and gave it a good push down... only to have it roar into life! How I didn't lose any fingers, I'll never know!
Very good video. '55 Chevy has a special place in my heart. I bought one in 1957, a V8, 3 speed, overdrive. It was just like this one, even same color. Loved that car, it was my first nice car.
Mortske, it's amazing that you can take something that hasn't run in 50 years and in a few hours with nothing more than a file, hammer, pry bar, and 24 volts of power can make hot garbage come to life! Absolutely amazing! thank you sir! So fun to watch! Edit: forgot about the "Standard" Screw Driver.. lol
Yep love these 235 l6 engines. I have kept mine going for over 13 years myself with 4 collapsed lifters. Yea I had to adjust them all the way out but It runs great. Timing seems A bit to advanced when you were first cranking It. Nice find man!!! Oh BTW Rock Auto has all the brake parts for that car at good prices. I should know due to rebuilding the entire brake system on my 55 chevy 4 door 2 months ago.
Very cool listening to you and the Mopar Mad Man banter back and forth 😂 Great to hear her running once again after 50 years. Great video as always 👍✌️🇺🇲
At least its not a frikin' diesel . Go Duff! DD speedshop should be nosing around any minute wanting to offload a Briklin ( which is destined for the snow pile this winter). Cheers!

That looked like some pretty fresh sh..stuff the Duff got into when you were picking up the car! Thanks for a Great episode!

Nice old Chevy, love the dash. That starter box is real sweet, definitely needs some upgrades to allow for 12/24 volts and cooling fan operation. I wouldn’t restore her, just get it running and stopping and drive the snot out of it.

Great to see this one up and running again! It does look like a great project for someone at a reasonable price.
It really is!
By himself Mortske is awesome. But give him someone to bounce banter back and forth and we reach new levels of humor. These two cracked me up!
Glad you enjoyed it
