    Based on what I saw from the Chinese media, one thing I want to correct about this report is that Macron was invited by China and very welcome to China but not Ursula von der Leyen. The reason is simple. If you want to do businesses with other people, you should show basic repect. This is why Leyen is not welcome to China.

    France 24 should have shown how China welcomed your president. Normally, for a state visit, an inspection of the Guards with the Head of the host country is proper enough, but they put on a military parade as a highest honor for the guest. That's respect, and that's what China expects from France and EU in return. It's time EU comes to reality and think of its own interest first, not be influenced by the declining power across the Atlantic. China is never a threat to Europe - past, present, and future.

      Many European countries have been under the influence of the United States since World War II and the Cold War. The United States has many military bases in many countries and has placed many countries under the protection of its nuclear bombs. Only France remains somewhat autonomous from the United States. So it was very difficult, or even impossible, to build a european defense.
      Since the "departure" of the USA with Obama and the change of direction, from Europe to the Pacific, to counter China, France has pushed for the construction of a European defense. With the beginning of the war in Ukraine, many things have changed, but this is only the beginning and the USA is afraid to lose too much influence, especially in the sale of arms, so NATO is pushing to create alternative capabilities of the European Union.

    There is an article written by Victor Hugo for primary school students in China to study. It talks about how immoral and wrongful for France to invade Qing-dynasty China was and he strongly criticized both the army and the actions. That’s probably one of the reasons why Chinese don’t hold much grudges against French, since it was the birthplace of commune de Paris, the first communist movement in the world. And I am not saying that China nowadays is a communist nation as there was “opening-up”, an economic reform in 90s, or that they have such a good, democratic government or that it’s a country of human rights. It’s just pure and sincerely good wishes among people, that’s all it is.

      @michaelwang6125 Рік тому +1

      Japan is kind of the first* whistleblower to America to America~ the Quad and etc were the late Shinzo Abe's ideas too (not trumps)
      The situation could potentially be worse had America reacted 2-5 years later so it did help in a wide variety of ways.
      *First: There are youtuber- book authors - etc that have given the signal but the late *Shinzo Abe* was the first political leader to take decisive actions. Unlike Moscow/Beijing/Washington who says a lot but may or may not deliver~ Japan is more like a dove... a large swan that doesn't show its moving on the surface but kicking rapidly with its feet. (aka a lot of mediation and follow by numerous actions once a plan has been made).
      Japan is also a G7 nation that went and give subsidies to Japanese companies in mainland China to relocate anywhere else during the first X months of the Pandamic. Cooperation with stable jobs was what helped Beijing sustain its real estate market... price freeze won't help too much since it doesn't generate new sales.
      Japan's influence within ASEAN nations in several ways is greater than America's (all except those who need military defense).
      Had more countries adopted the X+China earlier on (instead of aiming to reduce production cost), we probably won't have had so much problem with supply chain disruption in 2020-2022 and beyond...

    • @gogojest9367
      @gogojest9367 Рік тому +1

      @@michaelwang6125 I think Japan has been relocating their factories in China to elsewhere long before the Pandamic, since the husher and husher environment toward Japanese, e.g. the anti-Japanese demonstration in 2012, Actually similar but may milder boycotts of Japanese companies, cultures, personals, etc, happened so often, that I have lost count of it years ago ( Just like Attack of Titan is banned in China). These may have forced the Japanese to realise the risk of supply chain dependancy before any other country could see it.

    • @michaelwang6125
      @michaelwang6125 Рік тому

      @@gogojest9367 yes they have already been relocating in 2018 or earlier; Shinzo Abe had the foresight of what could happen 1-3 years before America's changed its official stance.
      But it wasn't until 2020 Spring did the Government make another move to publically subsidize companies to relocate anywhere outside of China (extras if they move to Japan).
      Many of the companies moving out of China try to stay under the radar~ T___T tax/hidden fee -etc and etc $$$ comes when the local authority knows you are moving out. (some people still don't know Beijing isn't an open economy).
      There is hudge fund that recommends other investments in China in recent months but when you look at their personal stock/etc profile, X amount of capital is actually moving out rather than in (despite the claim of Beijing's stock being undervalued).
      It somehow felt like a Ponzi scheme where they want people to pour their money in so it's easier for them to get their $$$ out.
      It's very fortunate for US & Taiwan to have an ally like Japan (even if they may have acted out of their own interest & security)

    Any EU trade negotiations with China would have involved its economic ties with Russia. All economies work only in a politically stable climate & concerns on continuing Russian nuclear threats & annexation of neighbors would definitely have to be discussed in the table.

    I like the statement from one of the speaker who is an economist. My interpretation of what he said: from the economics point of view, doing business with China is NOT an issue of or is totally IRRELEVANT to the "dependency risk" because the business deal fundamentally is a matter of offer and acceptance, the buyer may appear to 'depend' on the seller, but the seller also depends on the market formed by the sellers. It takes both hands to clap! IT is more like an INDEPENDENCY" issue rather than an "DEPENDENCY" issue. So, if there is any risk of concerned, it is a risk to both sides, EQUALLY. It is like Newton 3rd law, action equals to reaction.
