LAMBERTONES Ristrettos VS. Lindy Fralin P90s - Ultimate P90 Comparison!

- Hey everyone!
In this video we'll compare some of my favorite P90s against more vintage voiced P90s from Lindy Fralin. In my opinion the Ristretto's add a level of definition and clarity that just isn't found in other P90s I've tried.

Just to be fair, I listened to this video through my JBL studio speakers vs the computer speakers. Fralin to my ear has a fuller sound. Also, I think the notes float above the fretboard. The subtle difference makes me desire the Fralin for my Epiphone Les Paul Junior. Thanks for the comparison it was helpful.
Sweeeet always down for more ristretto content!
So cool bro! I really want to hear more sound examples of the bridge pickups. But this comparison helped me a lot!
Happy to send you more if you need! Just hit me up on Instagram!
Sounds great dude!
Both sound great 🤘🏻
That JM is a dream bro! It sounds great.
Thank you dude!
Fralin's alot more creamer and fuller sounding, I really dig this sound from them
I own American Performer Tele that has installed Fralin’s bridge 11.8k reading and P90 neck one 7.8k all runs on 500k pots and the bridge position converts into 250k, it sounds amazing, never played Tele with such harmonic bridge pick up, love this pick ups
I agree
4:00 I would disagree slightly on a vintage-voiced p90 sitting in the middle of a humbucker and a single coil - I would argue that a vintage-voiced p90 sounds VERY close to a humbucker wide open with the guitar knobs on 10. Where a p90 differs is when you roll the volume back around halfway - tons of sparkle and spank that is very Tele-like. A humbucker doesn't do that.
Those Lanny’s sound like a P90 for those single coil lovers looking for a little more oomph. Sound amazing.
I debated grabbing a set of ristrettos for my serus j, to replace the alnico poles in it. After this, i don’t know that they’re quite what I’m looking for. I’ll probably look into a set of firebirds.
Totally get it! I think the Novo has a different “voice”/look and feel than the ristrettos offer
Thanks heaps! Sold me on sticking with the Fralin's... *real* P90's just have that naughtiness that nothing else does.... more Stones than Beatles, more Muddy Waters than. Charlie Christian, more Blink 182 than Green Day. I can see how (especially) jazz, chickin' pickers, and fingerstyle players might rush these into their P90 routes; but not for me.
Hey bro im sorry you probably get this question alot but what PU heights you got on this video? Sounds much more clear than mine esp the neck PU. If i go to close it gets muddy but looses definition if i go to far down.
Hey Devyn! No problem at all.
I have both the bridge/neck pickup pretty close to the strings. On the neck and bridge pickup on the bass side I have 1.7mm and the treble side 1.6mm!
@@ZachBrobstMusic thanks brotha. That's while pressing down at the last fret I'm assuming?
Yes!@@devyntavares8144
Ristrettos versus Lamber'Tron" ... can't decide
