The Lambertones Ristrettos are Bradford and Brian's favorite pickups - they sit in a perfect sweet spot between single coils and humbuckers, and they're full of clarity and chime, but beefy enough to get mean if you want them to.

FIRST MY FAVORITE PICKUPS
Thank you so much for releasing different electric guitar content. Love you guys.
You dudes rock. Helping out a buddy sell his pick-ups. Hats off to you guys.
Saw this video, ordered some Ristrettos for my Thinline immediately! Can't wait to get them in!
I still come back to this intro song. I just want more like it!
Thank you for cranking the gain on these as well in the demo and getting into dirtier territory. I love how my S90's handle dirt and more aggressive tones and was worried that might be missing a bit here with these.
But I was mistaken. It just sounds great no matter what. Clean or cranked, just articulation and clarity while not being thin or shallow. I will be implementing these soon! Love the vids guys.
Nice playing, Barford.
Tone for dayzzz!!
They sound really balanced which I can appreciate. Often with some pickups you feel like it has too much of sonething, too much low end or too much highs. These sound really nicely balanced.
Love this guys 😃
Let us praise the Lord 😇
That is an absolute FIRE tone bro. FIRE. Dang it. Gettin' me some Ristrettos 🙃
Bendiciones desde Ecuador, me encantan sus videos 😊
Love it
Just got mine this morning!! Well, bought it this morning.. Can't wait to pair it with my Crema..
Robert Infinger Do these pickups meet your expectations? How has your experience been so far?
@@PianoandCoffee love them.. They certainly exceed expectations. They are nice and clear, chimy without being harsh and I can more easily control how much grit I want - handles staging nicely. My default mode is to split my Crema and use my middle position to include the Ristretto. By far, my favorite tone.
Robert Infinger Thanks for your response. One thing I forgot to ask.. hehehe.. what kind of guitar do you have ?
@@PianoandCoffee PRS SE Chris Robertson... Plays well enough for my skill level, but I have been in music for a long time, so my ears are ahead of my electric guitar playing skill, if that makes any sense! Lol... I couldn't handle the stock pickups for what I was trying to do. These sound really, really good.
Robert, did you have the Crema in the bridge and Ristretto on neck? I am trying to have a similar set up so if you have any feedback I would appreciate it.
My body is ready.
These sound really good, although since it's a p90, under less than ideal conditions, I do wonder how much noisier they are than the cremas with multiple levels of overdrive stacked
Weird question. I'm getting a Mastery OMV on a guitar soon, but I was curious what arm are you using? Adds a little spice compared to the standard one and I like it. Lovely playing per usual, my dudes.
I've been watching too much Paul Davids and thought that was him at first glance
I have a Gibson Tribute Les Paul with Gibson's P90s in it, and I can honestly say it's the best sounding guitar I've every played personally. Never gave a ton of thought to owning a guitar with P90s in it, but after playing my other Les Paul with two 490 humbuckers in it, I realized I wanted something to split the difference between that sound and my SSS Strat. I wanted clarity and bite, but the ability to be fat and mean. Thought I'd give the Tribute LP with P90s a try - not expecting a whole lot, to be honest - and haven't been able to put it down ever since. Kind of interested in trying these Ristrettos, but at the same time I don't want to mess with the tone I love so much that I'm already getting. Maybe one day!
If you have a guitar you love, definitely don’t change it. Just another reason to get another guitar :)
Is there any buzz in the Ristretto’s? I’m considering getting some myself
I watched the countdown and ordered mine once it hit 0. Now I have to wait for them to come in and then wait even longer for my local music store to put them in. :l
I keep wondering when Bradford is finally gonna make the jump and pick up a Novo Serus J. The one with dual firebird pickups would sound right up his alley.
He wants a Novo pretty bad, ha.
Doesn’t everybody?!
I mean... if I had one, I would certainly play it :).
Great tones!! Do you use the same pickup that The Edge does? I can hear some scraping sounds reminiscent to The Edge's tone
mfkato picks? Yes! Love em. Herdims.
What pots are recommended for those pickups?
Juice!
Can you try out Godin Xtsa Plssss🙏🏼
Can I use this on the bridge of my AmPro or AmStd Strat? Thanks
Which of your Helix presets would be closest to the initial clean sound?
Probably the Match JMP.
That’s the Morgan AC-20 model in Axe - it’s hands down my favorite Vox type sound from any modeler (or real amp) ever.
I have a Custom Build strat with Lambertones strat pickups (Triple Shots) in them they are amazeballs. Just sayin you could do a review of those pickups and that brand at same time....
We want to try those really bad. We just need an SSS strat to put them in 😅
@@worshiptutorials I could send my guitar to ya'll. I've got enough where it wont be missed haha.
Will these fit a J Mascis Jazzmaster?
Hey guys. These sound just too incredible! Thinking about putting in my JM as well. Just curious what pot value are this jm? Stock 1meg or 500k? Thanks!
Kurtis (Lamberton) suggests 500k. That’s what we have in this guitar.
Worship Tutorials perfect. That's what's in my jm now.
So, how come you guys don’t use or compare any Boss gear to the gear you normally use. Your stuff sounds very good but I am not a fan of Line 6 gear even though I used their pods for years! Two of the pod 2 burned up on stage so I felt I had to move on. I’m very happy with my GT100 and GX100! Thanks
Tommy Christian
Where did you set your pickup height for these? I installed some into my JMJM, but having trouble finding a good balance.
I have a JMJM and am looking at Lambertones. How are you liking the Ristrettos?
At 2:40 You are saying the tone is the "neck position" however your blade switch is in the middle. Does this guitar have an odd wiring set up?
Yeah in this demo it had a 5 way switch. Positions 1, 2, and 3 were bridge, neck + bridge, and neck. Positions 4 and 5 were bridge + middle and then middle only.
Assuming that's a 3-way switch, right? What pickups are in engaged when in the middle pickup position? I see a little pickup in the middle but no idea what it is. Thanks!
Wes
It's actually a 5-way switch, but positions 1, 2, and 3 only use the bridge/neck pickups. The middle pickup is only active in positions 4 and 5. So in the 'middle' position, it's really just the bridge and neck Ristretto's. Shelton is kind of a mad scientist when it comes to switching :).
@@worshiptutorials Thank you! :)
Even more favorite than Cremas?? I wonder how similar the coil split Crema would sound side by side this new Lambertone.
Yeppppp. Not sure about the split coil thing, though.
I use the split cool Crema on the bridge now to tame my hot / dark P90... Love it.
Robert Infinger How does the coil split Crema sound? Ive read online people say its the best sounding split humbucker they have heard, and some their fav position.
@@mcren6781 that's my default setup for my guitar, Ristretto + split Crema. Handles staging beautifully while snapping back to a beautiful chime with the flick of a helix 'switch'.
still?
hello i have a bass guitar do i really need a pick ? or are my fingers enough?
It depends on preference and genre I think but for p&w for example fingers are okay..
Yep. Use both, you'll thank me later :)
Sounds amazing. Weird question but what picks do you guys use? I need that attack in my life....😎
He uses the Herdim nylon pick backwards (the textured side hitting the strings)
Would these fit on a Gretsch Streamliner?
Only if it can house soapbar or Jazzmaster sized pickups
It will not. I have a streamliner and know that it houses traditional humbucker sized PUP’s.
Thought Porter Pickups were you’re favorite?
I do have Porters in a few of my guitars, and I do love them - especially his Vintage Tele set. But these Ristrettos are just special. I mean - we’re allowed to have a favorite of something without being accused of selling out to sponsorship, right?
For the record, Lambertones is not sponsoring or paying us anything to make this content.
We have demos of lots of different pickups - what you like the best might be different than what I like the nest - and that’s fine.
These are definitely my favorite. Wouldn’t use em if we didn’t like em. And wouldn’t say they were my favorite if they’re weren’t.
Michael Benjamin no one said anything about free ;) when Kurtis first reached out, maybe. But know we are friends the truly want to see each other succeed. Our videos take time and energy to put together and have a cost associated with them just as Kurtis’ pickups do. It’s a two-way street, my friend.
Guys I need a demo of the Ristretto p90 neck with the Blondie Tele bridge lol. Just put an order in with Kurtis and I'm just a little worried about about the output difference. The Ristretto is super low and the Blondie is more of a common output, actually overwound according to the Lambertones website. Kurtis said it's a good combo but I wanna hear it haha.
Lollar vs Lambertones?
I don't have much experience with Lollars, although they are very highly regarded.
@@worshiptutorials thanks!
Sounds very interesting.
But I'm confused.
There were a few videos in the past with the same guitar but it seems you used other pickups.
May I ask you, what pickups did you use in these videos:
ua-cam.com/video/R6vn5yWzWTs/v-deo.html
[Pickups: could you describe it please?]
ua-cam.com/video/UAWrZwqPJvQ/v-deo.html
Pickups: I see in comments that these are: [Wide Range HB bridge | Firebird middle | Jazzmaster neck.]
I guess I'm not understanding. If you want P90 sounds why not get something with actual P90's? Or if you don't like P90's, then it tells me that's not what you really want. In this case, you don't really have a Jazzmaster anymore. It's something else. To me, it's like trying to convert a Ford Mustang to be like a Chevy Corvette. In the end, you won't really have either. You'll still have to get the Corvette if that's what you really want.
Let people be happy with things man.
@@aaron.s.robinson¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We just love the pickups and the guitar. I never said I wanted a traditional Jazzmaster (in fact I find them overly bright).
@@worshiptutorials I'm with you there. I think I mentally get hung up on wanting to just call it a much fatter Jazzmaster pickup.
