- Traxxas unlimited desert racer how to install aluminum wheel hexes the best in my opinion upgrade for the Traxxas on limited desert racer only because of the factory plastic ones if you were to upgrade the speed control get melted and stripped out very easily these aluminum wheel wheel hexes are made by D hoc racing you can get them on eBay in various different colors
I've stripped 2 rear ones but it's the tire hex that actually strips also, not just the caliper. When it happens, you'll notice your car pull hard to the left or right. During throttle.

Nice video but as you can't see them when moving I opted for the $11 metal traxxas replacements. love the scale look but the disc brake pointless when the cars moving. Good video BTW though

You would've been better buying the LOSI XL-E. I sold my Axial yeti as....it flipped all the time on grass or blacktop due to the same locked rear diff! this thing is only at home on loose surfaces! Seriously if you're thinking of fitting a rear diff then you've bought the wrong car for the conditions you're running in

Hey bro you forgot to clamp the brake line on the massive brembo 6 piston calibres before you took them off and must stress but it's not important you did not Bleed the braking system. Your welcome
I just got the udr for my birthday and one rear pin broke twice and destroyed the hex because it melted inside so I just ordered aluminum hexes

I have the Hot Racing Aluminum Disc. I also changed my front Steering Knuckles to Aluminum from Hot Racing.
I tried metal knuckles but the plastic tip to connect it broke in a crash...I have a feeling it's better to leave the stock plastic which gives a little play when there is an impact.... UDR is not a pro racing machine so I don't care using plastic parts if it breaks less...
Like the trailing arms...if it does not flex, there will be more force applied elsewhere.... I prefer reinforcing the stock ones (filling the holes with plastic epoxy)
Well its how you run your vehicle. This type of RC is not a Basher or a Racer. Its just a copy of the real thing. The rear components are not protected what so ever. People forget that the real UDR is steel not plastic. The Aluminum parts do help especially during the winter time. I remember when I first ran my Xmaxx. I cliped a mountain of hard snow. Snapped my plastic knuckle like nothing. Lol!
In low temp, you're right plastic is a no go !
ChUcK2001 The UDR is ment to mess around in the dirt or mud and very small jumps. If you see the races for Baja with the real UDR. Your going to know what I mean. Traxxas did a very good job in making a very Scaled Truck, but unfortunately its not a Bash RC. Its ment to go fast on dirt or mud. I wont be jumping mine. Lol
Luis L.P. RC's Yeah me too I don't go for big air not meant for that. I know the trucks it is based on and it's capable of.

The fake disc brakes/calipers are kind of tacky but that’s just me.
Wait wont one side of the brake slots be one way on one side, then opposite the other?
I have a front tire wobble issue on my xmaxx. Happens when I turn while on the throttle.
