Are you talking about the one that happened 5 minutes ago or the one that happened 6 minutes ago Wait there's been 3 more massikers within this conversation
in 2022 there was 2-4 school shootings depending on your definition. School shooting just means any discharge of a firearm within 1000 feet of school grounds. You can go look at the numbers yourself, it's incredibly rare.
@@whodarboilebamnames3990bro it shouldn’t have to ‘be rare’. ‘Go look at the numbers’ talking about children being shot up in schools like it’s a calorie intake
@@velocorex4719 You can state that it's horrific but also incredibly rare to the point drowning in a bucket is more likely (this is not a joke, it's an actual stat). And what do you mean by it shouldn't have to be rare? Should it be common? What about daily? What do you even mean by this.
@@steeldriver5338 First off, why does no other country need that? Change the system instead of trying to patch the problem and you won't have the problem. Secondly - statistics show that most gun deaths are accidental - people not trained well, young people getting access to them etc. The more guns there are, the more likely it is that someone will use it.
It's Over 9000 Productions I mean previously my friends and I would generally have a couple days after something like this (yeah we are scum bags) but now we where memeing after the news broke
Stop taking it so literally, and I ain't saying it, Pie did. And what he meant was that Trump dont think about the consequences or repercussions of what he do/says before doing/saying it.
What do you expect when every gun-control debates starts with, 'we're not coming for your guns'? Debating gun-control in The USA leads to one thing, and one thing alone: more guns being bought.
As a side note, I remember a scene in Metal Gear Solid 4 where Solid Snake and the guy he buys his equipment from start talking about how profitable the war economy is when they first meet.
maybe the US government just don't give a fuck about its citizens. As Ronny Reagan once said the American civil war was a war worth fighting. plus it's the only war you have won by yourselves.
hyena131 So, “ramsey” is a “fuckwit” ? Ok, I got it now. The trouble is you can’t even spell his name, whereas Samantha can. Bet you swear a lot, know a lot less and have less in the bank than RAMSAY.
@@nigeljames6017 My apologies, nigel! A type-o, so be more forgiving, dear boy. And I had no idea that one's financial acumen was meritorious. So rupert murdoch and donald trump are fine fellows based on this staggeringly childish 'logic??' Thanks for sharing that. And does merely saying one naughty word (fuckwit) mean I "swear a lot", fuckwit? I reckon you have a little boy crush on Samantha...:) And yes - like you, ramsey is a veritable fucwkit. Regardless of how his name is spelled.
hyena131 So, it seems that several elements of the original post went wizzing over your head. The fact that Samantha has likened Ramsay to Pie is exactly because of the swearing, and how both of them manage to hit the nail on the head in their respective fields. Do I have a crush on Samantha, well looking at her home page I know someone who is well educated, and has a good ear for a wide variety of music. So I think I’ll leave it as a “if I ever met her” I think my wife and I would have a lot to discuss with her.
Yeah, they never mentioned background checks, or that restriction that Trump repealed on people with certain mental illnesses being allowed to buy guns. Maybe get out of your echo chamber once in a while.
W-James, criminals don't obey the law for one, two it is a mental health issue, and three when you make anti gun laws or heavier restrictions on using them you only end up putting them on the black market.
Used to think that my inner rage on these topics was uncharacteristic. It turns out, I’ve got mad englishman living in my head, because I echo every single thing this gentleman just said
What gun would Jesus have carried? I don't think he would have been crucified if he'd have protected himself with a firearm. The only thing that stops a bad Roman with a Cross, is a good demigod with an AR-15. At least he could feel less intimidated by Thor's Hammer at the next "Sons of Big Beardy Gods Dinner".
Obviously and mind melting frustrating, perplexing and horrifying that I clicked this today 9th August 2019... and the content, tone and message was still totally accurate today, a year or more after the vids original creation date. Year later, more people gunned down for nothing, more copy & paste cynical political responses. Changes made to gun policy since this video released? As far as I can tell and see, fuck bugger all.
This is not about gun control, it's about mental health and the constant attention that the media gives to these shooters. Mass shootings aren't as bad as we think though, it's the gun crime that happens behind the scenes that nobody hears about. That being said, America has so many guns that criminals could easily buy them illegally if they were banned, this would leave the average citizen with no gun and most criminals with guns, pretty simple really.
@@TimSlee1 maybe, ban the guns, and make healthcare free so those people don't go shooting up schools. Also, in Britain, you cant buy a gun legally, but, by your fact. The criminals should be shooting up the public. No, because we are smart with our gun laws. They would be no need to the average person to have a gun, if no other fucker has a gun.
@@BMJgunner Free healthcare is a terrible idea, look up Steven Crowders video on Canada's free health-care, taxes are higher and services are worse. Australia gun ban worked because Australia didn't have a prominent gun culture to begin with, America has more guns than people and criminals will always find a way to obtain them while the average person will be left without them. Your solution to these problems are stupid and I highly suggest re-thinking them.
@@TimSlee1 all your saying is that keeping guns is a good idea when it is not. You guys have the worst mass killing because you don't know how to control your guns. 'oh yh, I need a gun to protect me from the bad guy' no. Be serious, how many people could of been stopped from harming people if gun laws were stricter. Loads. So instead of calling my idea, of getting people help bad, maybe sort out your gun control so people don't die every week because some guy got given an m4 without a background check
@@BMJgunner They do background checks lol. Criminals obtain guns illegally very easily especially when they live in a place where there are many of them. Also, the mass shootings aren't even a big problem when compared to other causes of death, you are being brainwashed by the medias sensationalism of mass shootings.
and yet you guys always bang on about being the greatest country (albeit self proclaimed lol) in the world, the land of the free and brave. sounds like you arent even getting the basic freedoms where the majority dont have a say lol
I moved to America from Korea and I'm eternally grateful. The job I have, the house I live in, the style in which I enjoy my life. I could never have this in Asia or Europe. Yes, shitty parent raise shitty kids that have access to guns and kill people. But is that really any worse than the religious extremists in Europe? Hey France, nice truck attacks you have there. Honestly, we're all humans. This thing about shitting on people for actually liking their own countries. It needs to stop. It helps no one, and it's only insulting. It solves ZERO problems.
+SpaceManDawn _" But is that really any worse than the religious extremists in Europe?"_ You _did_ pay attention to the numbers, didn't you? In which case your question is ridiculous: clearly, the situation in the US really *_is_* worse than that in Europe - and by an incredibly large margin. Try not to be _quite_ so dense: thinking like yours perpetuates the problem by minimising it into extinction.
Epictetus when the fuck did I say that? You know that more lives are saved per year by good guys with guns than people dying from bad guys with guns. An estimated 3 million people are saved by guns per year.
Well, you need to start somewhere don't you? Plenty of Americans would follow the law because they're decent people, then maybe do some kind of risk free thing for illegal guns etc. so people don't stay away because they're afraid to just get arrested when they hand in their weapons, then the police will seize a lot of weapons from criminals over time. Slowly you'd start actually getting somewhere with the plan. It certainly doesn't become less of a problem for the USA by waiting another 10-20 years or whatever, the number of guns will only go up until you collectively decide you want changes.
I completely an utterly agree. This was basically my reaction when I heard there was another shooting. It's becoming a 'normal' and this is disgusting. There needs to be change. Sometimes I just hate my country for being this way. I don't understand why it's so hard to see a shooting like this and not think we should do something about this.
+Shaun Powell What do you think he can do about it? Storm into the White House and demand that school shootings should be prevented? I'm sorry, but that is not how things happen in real life. He is doing something by showing his stance and siding with the masses that will hopefully talk some sense into people.
Thank You Sir !!! If only we had sensible people running our country, things would be a lot better. Unfortunately, in the US, Cash is King, and those who have it rules everything around us. Our politicians are paid to be ineffective and to cater only to those with deep pockets.

'lock and load its double fucking maths!' That one cracked me up real bad, even though this is no laughing matter but I couldn't help it, that line caught me off guard!
US school year 2018. 14 days of school,,,18 shootings, Hey trump, forget the NRA money. if there is no gun you cant shoot. Ban guns, then ANY crime committed with a gun is premeditated, and an automatic death penalty.
TehMorbidAtheist you didn't say anything about fixing the gun problem did you... This is about your own problems Also just look to the southern border, that's how easy it is.
The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun Unless a second guy steps inside the room and doesn't know who the original bad guy was and shoots them both. He then becomes the bad guy.
And when President Reagan was SURROUNDED by a dozen armed good guys ON THE LOOKOUT for someone trying to harm him, a bad guy with a gun shot him. Guns don't stop guns, do they!?
at this point "toughts and prayers" feels insutling because it translates to "we are going to do fuck all to solve the problem but here are some nice words that wont bring back your love ones"
Thank you for this. As a European who spent his high school sophomore year in the US and still loves many things about it, I find it particularily nice to hear someone articulate this mixture of despair, anger and helplessness because you can't do anything, somewhat wishing all this stuff didn't bother me so much. but it's about the connection I feel to the country and the principles i hold that make me want to puke every time I watch this played out show with more acts than days or when people tell me to let it go because i'm far away and hardly have any influence over my own surroundings, let alone country...
You're right. I honestly think that barring a few exceptions (North Korea and Saudi Arabia come to mind) the USA is the worst country on the planet. The worst bit about it is their arrogance. It's that American culture that everything they do is fucking perfect. They only give a shit about themselves. It's a disaster. They even celebrate "freedom" more than any other country. EVERY country has freedom (again, barring exceptions). The USA is no more "free" than any other country, but their citizens will even lap that up and make it into a big song and dance just to try and one-up other countries. I hate that nation with a passion, and feel sorry for Canada (who I think are a fantastic country) who have to share a border with the imbeciles.
That's not right, there's 100,000's of thousands of fucking scum in the US, but that's out of a pool of 320 million, so if we say that 1 million are scum, that's 1 in 320, sounds about par for the course in international terms. Their corruption is somalia-level though, and they seem pretty oblivious about it, but that's not the fault of the people in large. I mean, "Hillary has confidential emails on a private server" and they go "how did they know that, they must be having Russia spy on us, they're working with Russia!!!" and the whole crowd just looks over and point fingers over hearsay. Now, in most other countries the crowd would go "well shit, if he's working with (insert country, not currently an enemy, nor at war with) we'll have to deal with that, but hey, before that, about that felony-bordering-on-treason you've been *proven* to have committed..." I guess if you rob a bank in the US, tell the police some random Russian dude told you to, lay low and all is forgiven! Then again, there's a 50/50 split chance you'll be hit by a car or killed by a gun on your way home. You know what, i changed my mind, it's a shithole
x pretty much most forward western nations are a strong PROOF not an argument; to argue against the statistics requires an astronomical level of bs-ery that defies intelligence
x So why in Europe there aren't these problems? You really think that guns are for protecting yourself from the government? Yeah, your hunting rifle against their tanks and bombs.
I admit, The U.k, London especially does have a problem with Knife crime deaths and violence, but...in most of the u.k i feel comfortable knowing that when im in tesco, asda, the pub or anywhere else that no one has a gun on them. I know its a cultural thing in the u.s.a, but what does anyone need a gun for unless its for shooting target practice/sport. Im saying that in full respect because i havent grown up in that gun culture. Surely its time to try a different way ? You can tell Jonathon Pie really means this, even though he plays a character. Show a thumbs up if you never want guns to spread in the u.k
The drunk-driving inccident as you pointed out was an accident, nobody thinks to themselfs i'm gonna get drunk and hope i run people down in my car. as for the bomber and shooter they commited their crimes on purpose, and they both knew the best way to kill multiple people was to use either a bomb or a gun, and as we both know you can't just walk into a store and buy a bomb, but you can with guns.
Shaun powell, typical right wingers as soon as you realize you've been beaten by logic, you go straight to the insults. the logic being the bomb and gun were invented to kill life be it human or animal, whereas the car was invented to make life easier. obviously the person is responsible for pulling the trigger, the logical question is why does he have the trigger in the first place. And who is it that 'took' over?
Have you had an original thought on this topic whatsoever? He has the "trigger" because he bought a gun. That's not inherently a problem. People have had weapons capable of killing since the prehistoric became historic, and they've had guns for hundreds of years. The mere act of killing isn't inherently a problem, it's about the context, the why and who, and the mere fact that something was created to kill doesn't inherently put it in some problematic category of tool that we shouldn't let people have. Your own body is a tool to kill and rape so that your DNA populates the next generation. That's what evolution has honed it into over hundreds of millions of years, but do we cut off our hands? Do we put restrictions on how effective of killing tools we can be? No the fuck we don't. Where's the logic? What principles do you start with where you can say "yeah man I'm totally cool with the government not letting some (most let's be real) people arm themselves?" Allow me answer that for you: None. Because you haven't had any original thought of your own. You're just repeating the same rehearsed bullshit every other gun control advocate before has repeated before you, and you're being BTFOd like every gun control advocate before. Fucking THINK, actually THINK, pick some first axioms, look at the evidence, and THEN form your political opinion. The real questions you should be asking are "Are there legitimate reasons for a state to regulate firearm ownership? What are they? Why?" I would argue no, but then I know you won't be arguing shit because I know you haven't *really* thought about it. People, don't be like this guy.
Unless you live in some South American countries. Which do have high gun deaths but are all isolated, where as the USA has mass shootings, which while far larger, (yes this is a bit cynical) could be much MUCH worse. Extreme gun control won't work, I'll just have to sit and watch and see how fate folds its cards.
It is normal. I want the next child to behead 30 children next. Cut off their eyes first to make huge headlines. Probably starting with your kids first.
Don't worry, America have found a scapegoat and are blaming video games... Just letting you all know guns had nothing to do with this, it's was all video games... God dammit America. /facepalm
A brilliant, yet sadly accurate satirical look at what's happening in the so called "Greatest country in the World", the U.S.A - Unlimited Slaughter Abound's.
F-35B LIGHTNING II fighter jet, do you actually have any evidence or stats regarding to "millions more rapes than in america" considering that America has 323 million people and Australia only has 24 million? and also the fact that you have to constantly arm yourself in case your own government tries to "take you over" does *not* make your country great, it makes it untrustworthy and stupid, which is why the rest of the world laughs at you
I used to live in the UK (I'm an American and now live in the US), and I had to explain the gun situation--or rather, try to explain it--to my British friends so often that it became a kind of comedy routine. I also tried and failed to explain it to Germans, Canadians, Japanese people....lots of others. I have given it a lot of thought, and I keep coming around to the conclusion that we--Americans, all of us--just don't care about this issue. If we did, we'd do something about it. We have a long, long history of doing something about it, starting with breaking away from the UK. We have done something about all kinds of problems, often uphill against considerable resistance (civil rights) and with considerable losses along the way. But we won't do something about this.
Eric Knisley Yup, Im sure you give a very honest and truthful depiction of the gun debate without any bias to your totally equally unbiased friends. :^) Here’s a tip; If you can’t be unbiased, you’re probably better off not explaining shit
Here's a tip: if you have to hide behind a fake name to insult people on the internet, then your comments are automatically suspect. If you want to be taken seriously--I'm assuming you do--then use your real name.
I'd say the biggest difference is we don't see other Americans as ourselves... if you go to Japan or Germany, there tends to be a tighter sense of community and togetherness- people see themselves in others. In America everyone is an island, we believe for some reason that what happens to others cannot and will not happen to us because we're better, our local schools are better, there'd be a hero good-guy with a gun to stop it. You take a look at inner-city crime which has been going on for decades- children getting shot and killed there, it becomes so normal and white people in the suburbs don't feel any connection or threat from it. There's also just the fact that it's happened so often now. At one time, fatalities from car crashes may have been a shocking and tragic thing, by now we just see it as "part and parcel" of living in a modern society. You drive on the roads, you accept the risk, no matter how miniscule, that you and your children's head will be smashed like a watermelon in a car crash. Now, traffic fatalities barely scratch local news for a day before fading out.
I’m Canadian, my mom is American and I have lived in UK, Canada and visited America. I’ve had a university professor who was teaching in Canada that survived Virginia Tech. I’ve met an american mass shooting survivor at a store in Toronto where the slightest bit of conflict made this guy do a duck-n-roll out of habit. There was only one time in London, where I saw a gang fight escalated so badly that a passerby freaked out, shouted that a guy had a gun. There was intense panic everywhere. I was watching from my bedroom window but even I ducked down a bit because my imagination was going a bit crazy. Luckily, I’m happy to say I don’t know any British friends who have actually seen a mass shooting. Because even criminals who have illegal guns aren’t shooting up dozens of people every month. I’ve had been to shooting ranges in Texas and even practiced firing a gun before before. I’ve tried walking in everyone’s shoes. I know it’s exciting in the context of a safe environment with safety gear. People know guns are not safe. I met a shooting instructor that was keen to teach me because I was a woman and he believed that “more women should learn to shoot for protection.” He meant, protection against sex offenders, other shooters or to stop a burglary. I kid you not. I don’t think anything I learned that session could defend me from a semi-automatic shoot at at music festival or a petting zoo. That knowledge was useless to me. I’m not a combat soilder... and most people aren’t even cut out for it anyway. Nobody can defend themselves in that way period. Except for the people who have free reign to go over the top on weapons for “no good reason.” It is not at all like that to the survivors who are struggling to cope with severe PTSD. It’s usually people who see no threat in current gun laws that haven’t yet had a gun pulled out on them during normal everyday life. It’s easy to detach from unpleasant realities if it’s not really effecting you. We get it. But the survivors? Hmmm Oh, they’re reminded of their horrors on a daily basis without even wanting to. I doubt they will stand in the middle on gun laws. I keep bumping into Americans who have had their lives ruined by shootings as well as people who think this problem is somehow “normal”. The delusion is quite astonishing.
We don't expect a different result. We know we can't win against the gun lobby and we've basically given up trying to save our kids from getting murdered in school.
@@deusexaethera Honestly the US should just balkanize already. I could care less if the inbred hicks want to shoot each other. I'm sick of my taxes being used to prop up 3rd world republican states.
I hope most people agree that school shootings are some of the worst atrocities on Earth. The question we ponder is how to deal with it. Some include: Banning guns, Regulating guns, or giving teachers weapons themselves to defend students and staff. Personally, I believe it's not necessarily a gun problem, but more so a mental health one. I find that if we can crack down on the mental health issues affecting people who become shooters, perhaps we could deal with the issue before it happens whilst adhering to both the Republicans (no gun regulations) and Democrats (dealing with mental health). Politics is the art of compromise, after all. That's just my thought process though.
A mentally ill person having a breakdown and running around with a knife is going to cause far less fatalities than one running around with an AR-15. Both issues need addressing.
I would argue that more want relaxed laws then current laws being enforced. Ever since 1934 the left has said that it's okay, it'll get rid of gun violence, but it never does. Americans are fed up with the liberal way of doing things, which don't seem to make things ever better. Things like shall issue concealed carry licenses and stand your ground laws have attributed to the steady decline of violence since the 1990's.
They don't need a confession, it's been said by the supreme court in 2005. The only person who is responsible for their safety is themself. Sure people might help you if you're being mugged, but the chances of getting that is rare, bystander effect and such.
We're talking about children in a school environment. You can't point to stand your grounds laws when referring to little, little children, or even high school students for that matter, and think that that's a legitimate argument.
I must remind you good sir, that schools are gun free zones as it currently stands. So far, none of these signs have not stopped any school shootings, so these feel good laws do nothing but put everyone in a school at risk. And if both teachers and students both cannot defend themselves from a shooter or even from a bully in general then that is morally wrong. People have the natural right to protect themselves and others, to say otherwise is an infringement on their liberties. The only thing that criminals will understand is deterrence, not laws.
Just realised this is from a year ago, I thought it was about the most recent shootings in July 2019. Just shows how often these things happen. The USA gets real pleasure out of school shootings
My wife is a teacher at a US junior high school and she wants to get a gun and defense training so she can protect the students and NOT be a sitting target.
It IS normal! That is the worst thing - that it really IS normal! (said with angry sarcasm). Of course, I gave Kevin a "thumb up"! But it would be much more accurate if he would have written ---> "It shouldn't be fucking normal"... ;)
Do people forget the Texas Shooter was stopped by an NRA member...with an AR-15? I hated every second being in my high school (a gun free zone) except when I was in the room with my teacher who had a 6” knife. I always felt so unsafe and vulnerable like I was just another fish in the barrel. For two years, we had a 300+ pound cop who couldn’t outrun a toddler. She had a gun, but she was useless. I’m all for having teachers with training having firearms. The bad guys will always have guns so why not be able to fight them?
Thank you, Mr. Pie. Some of us (Americans) are really hurting because of the lack of tangible action in our country. Thank you so much for your outspokenness, humor, and passion.
I wasn't going to reply because you're talking utter nonsense, but I will point out that the US has 13 times more rapes per year than Australia, which works out about the same per 100,000 people. All I can do is shake my head and feel sorry for your country.
"Lock and load it's double maths!" hahahaha! that one brought a smile to my face, it's a serious and sad issue frankly I think Mr Pie makes a very good point.
Just a few facts about guns in the UK for those who don't know. Yes, there are guns in the UK. The law is strict but not a "Ban" like some people think. For example, in the mainland; You require no licence for sling shots, crossbows, bow and arrow, Air rifles*, black powder weapons* and firearms that have been de-activated or have obsolete calibers*. Over-Under, Side-By-Side and Pump action shotguns (limited to three rounds) Can be aquired fairly easily under a Shotgun licence. Most other weapons are covered under an FAC (Firearms Certificate) These include; Semi Automatic Rifles limited to 22lr, Bolt-Action rifles with no calibur restrictions, Pistols* (*Not a pistol in the way you might think. Google "UK legal pistol") and Shotguns holding over three shells, along with several other weapons. Then there is a Section 5 licence which is very hard to get, but if you do you can have any gun you please. (Basically this license is for gun manufacturers and gun dealers.) Then you get outside of the Mainland, to the laws of the Isle of Mann, Northern Island etc. It's very different indeed... Northern Island is one of the few places in all of Europe that have conseal carry permits for a start.
"*Snort* Good luck fighting the totalitarian government with three rounds, you liberal commie. I don't depend on the State-Daddy for anything. I'll take my chances because I protect my family, and I'm a law-abiding gun owner. And mental health. But not paying for mental health. And knife crime and acid attacks. And trucks driving into crowds of people. And most guns are held by criminals . . . " I'm forgetting a few items from the typical schizophrenic buffet of lunacy, but you get the idea.
What makes you think your government could or would become a totalitarian state, what evidence do you have this is ever likely to happen. Believing something to be the truth when you have no empirical evidence that it is the case is delusional and paranoid. I think you should go and pay for some mental health treatment. Oh and if you were a European most countries you would get your treatment for free., but that's another story. What sort of country sees it normal to have children die from bullets or from not being able to afford health care .
I stopped caring when I understood that, although the problem is easily resolved, America as a whole doesn't want to get it sorted. I can't care anymore.
They could do more. Right now, the talk only flares up when there's a shooting. I mean, that's pretty common, but the NRA are always waiting. They've got many people on standby to speak up whenever any kind of talk about getting rid of guns takes place. If the people cared enough, they would rally together and constantly call for guns to be restricted. If they don't care enough to do this for two weeks after a shooting, how can anyone expect them to do it every day for decades? If they don't care, why should I?
Sandwich247 take a serious problem in your neighborhood, talk to people about rallying up and watch everybody bail out. Probably there are no gun law problems in your country but these mass shootings could help other people rise in countries where things are fucked up but not as fucked up. You should care if one day you plan visiting any of those countries... I get that people should react better but it's understandable they've got so much shit going on in America right now to do all the right things all the time. I'm starting to believe Trump's incompetence/mouth takes out so much rage, people forget other problems in America. In my country something like that happens. People hate the president so much, everything is his fault and people take no action about it. They just angry all the time. And I saw recently that a lady turned in her grandchild because she found diaries where he was planning a mass shooting. Sounds fake until the police found a hidden AK-15 in his guitar case...
serchinnho it's either stop keep manufacturing firearms for the mass public market and reduce the numbers in circulation. Or things will not change and we all know that's not going to happen. If the USA won't ammend an ammendment because they say you can't ammend one its a lost cause and mass shootings will end up along side the sports pages
"It ain't fuckin' normal! It ain't fuckin' normal." Right on. Surprisingly poignant stuff, I like how this satire is mature enough to pull back and land the punches over the comedy when needed.
Yeah... I mean, when I heard about it I was like "Great, guess we'll be listening to a bunch of talk about gun control and "it's too early to talk about that", for the next few days. And that's it, just talk. Christ, when I heard they were High School students this time I was relieved... RELIEVED! FOR FUCKS SAKES! I don't want to be numb to this but here I am thinking "At least it's not a bunch of 6 years olds". What kind of bar is set that low??? Fuck I wish there was a God, at least there would be some minuscule amount of hope that things might magically change... thoughts and prayers... all the good those will do the next batch of mini meat shields. Look on the bright side, children's coffin stocks must be at an all time high.... Fuck me... I'm just... done
The media makes it seem common, but gun deaths are actually rare here in the US compared to car crashes, for example (4x the risk), and obesity (27x the risk), but neither of those are headline-worthy.
@@jacobrickayzen2744 Obesity and car deaths are not improving in the US, and since mass shootings are quite rare (1 per million people), why major in minors.
As a 14 year old currently in high school, a week after the shooting a student at my school was threatening the school. Cops were filed into the halls with guns to protect us in the one place we should be safe. I have never forgotten about this experience, and I feel terrible that this is seriously still happening. Rest In Peace to all those children who have died in Florida, I am appalled at how many stupid politicians are saying that we need to arm teachers. OUR SCHOOLS ARE NOT MEANT TO BE PRISONS!!!!
Anon54387 How about we get rid of the problem in the first place? I won't feel any safer being near a teacher with a deadly weapon. Besides, we don't need military-level weapons for ordinary or mentally ill people.
Mamamew TheRani I don't know what kind of fucked up conversations you have with people but this is not funny nor to be mocked of. That you don't live in America (nor do I) doesn't mean i can't have empathy for the people that are against guns and live there
Mamamew TheRani totaly agree, im from Scotland and Americans are mocked on a daily basis, most often with the comment i put on this vid "oh but America need there guns ya know"
We were having this conversation on our last night out and we came to the conclusion that we all perceive Americans to be somewhat stupid... From their TV shows that have silly cartoony sound effects, to crowds on chat shows over acting because there's a camera in front of them, to their stand ups that need to do a quick recap of their punch lines after every joke.... And of course, for their logic of "The only answer to gun problems, is more guns." I kind of agree here.
Considering ours is a country of 300 million people, at least 0.1% of whom are liable to go postal every once in a while, the fact that fewer innocent people are killed by guns than by cars is actually surprising.
Before the Gun Control Act of 1968 was passed into law, Americans had the right to purchase guns through the mail with no background check. There were no serial numbers on guns where they could be tracked. And only one mass shooting had occurred. So, Americans had far more access to guns than they do now and mass shootings were nearly nonexistent. Now access to guns is much more restricted and there have been several in the past 20 years. It seems to me the problem is not with the guns, or the access to guns, but something has broken down in American society that gives place for these kind of atrocities.
Also, the fact that the perpetrators are young, white males... What is happening in our society that they feel justified in killing others? The big comparison being toted is Australia, yet Australia doesn't appear to have ever had the problem of mass shootings to the extent that we have had it in the U.S. So, while gun control can help, it's still not going to address the root problem of why it happens.
Yes, there has been drastic societal change. But even if the laws aren't directly to blame... the issues would still be almost entirely resolved if they just DIDN'T HAVE GUNS.
Well, James Fields didn't need a gun to kill one and injure dozens of others. A gun is just the most efficient way to do the job. I fear, that unless we deal with the underlying causes, the perpetrators will just switch methods. Besides that, there are too many guns available, even if you go door to door, they will never be all collected.

I just left the US for good after 3 years here. I don't think they even qualify as a developing nation
Well. It is developing... Into an even shitter country than it was.
Now, in most other countries the crowd would go "well shit, if he's working with (insert country, not currently an enemy, nor at war with) we'll have to deal with that, but hey, before that, about that felony-bordering-on-treason you've been *proven* to have committed..."
I guess if you rob a bank in the US, tell the police some random Russian dude told you to, lay low and all is forgiven!

+Iwuvmemes 1 we do blame the bomb 2 the guy above me beat me to it
- - the day they disarmed the citizens WAS the day they took over
Shaun powell, typical right wingers as soon as you realize you've been beaten by logic, you go straight to the insults. the logic being the bomb and gun were invented to kill life be it human or animal, whereas the car was invented to make life easier. obviously the person is responsible for pulling the trigger, the logical question is why does he have the trigger in the first place.

Here’s a tip; If you can’t be unbiased, you’re probably better off not explaining shit
Except for the people who have free reign to go over the top on weapons for “no good reason.”
It is not at all like that to the survivors who are struggling to cope with severe PTSD.
Melanie Hicks simple bullets are expensive in UK. Recent terrorist attacks, no guns used.
"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."
Any change in the gun laws yet?
We don't expect a different result. We know we can't win against the gun lobby and we've basically given up trying to save our kids from getting murdered in school.
@@deusexaethera Honestly the US should just balkanize already. I could care less if the inbred hicks want to shoot each other. I'm sick of my taxes being used to prop up 3rd world republican states.
Hopefully there will be a change, to get rid of NFA and other unconstitutional laws.
I hope most people agree that school shootings are some of the worst atrocities on Earth.
The question we ponder is how to deal with it.
Some include:
Banning guns,
Regulating guns,
or giving teachers weapons themselves to defend students and staff.
Sorry, you're wrong on this one. "The majority" don't want more gun laws, we want the current laws to be enforced.
same difference
Ain't fucking normal.
I absolutely agree, Jon.
I really don’t know why people would want a gun to begin with. It takes lives not make them.
fear
santino gazi To let the power hungry governments know that they can't have everything.
core rage in what way is an idiot with an ar 15 going to keep your government in check?
core rage congratulations, you are a moron.
santino gazi So the truck the that mowed those people down in France....it should be banned along with all other trucks. Lol.
Just realised this is from a year ago, I thought it was about the most recent shootings in July 2019. Just shows how often these things happen. The USA gets real pleasure out of school shootings
i think you might be right about pleasure
My wife is a teacher at a US junior high school and she wants to get a gun and defense training so she can protect the students and NOT be a sitting target.
A gunfight at the OK Classroom. Interesting.
It ain't fucking normal...
Kevin 😭😭😭😭
"it's normal" - anderson silva voice
It IS normal! That is the worst thing - that it really IS normal! (said with angry sarcasm).
Of course, I gave Kevin a "thumb up"! But it would be much more accurate if he would have written ---> "It shouldn't be fucking normal"... ;)
Great rant, speaks right from the bottom of my heart. Thank you!
This could have been released on any day in the last four years and it still works
Never before has my own anger and frustration about this very subject been so perfectly personified.
His trail-offs in this are absolutely hilarious.
Double maths part killed me 😂😂😂😂
So, so right!
It's pretty damming that it's only been a couple of months and I have to go "wait... Which shooting are we talking about here?"
‘It’s just
another phase they go through’ you are genious Mr. Pie
Just a few facts about guns in the UK for those who don't know.
Yes, there are guns in the UK. The law is strict but not a "Ban" like some people think. For example, in the mainland;
You require no licence for sling shots, crossbows, bow and arrow, Air rifles*, black powder weapons* and firearms that have been de-activated or have obsolete calibers*.
(Basically this license is for gun manufacturers and gun dealers.)
Then you get outside of the Mainland, to the laws of the Isle of Mann, Northern Island etc.
Thagros good look fighting a state with the might of a military industrial complex behind it with small arms.
Newsflash: you can't fight cruise missiles and tanks with a gun.
You miss the point,
" Dear Mr Chief Constable, as a law abiding subject of HM the Queen, please may I have a gun?"
"HELL NO!"
Sandwich247 so, no empathy for those who hate guns and live in America? Now that's a nice attitude (sarcasm)
Lee B it’s not for the government to take away bud. It’s our god given rights.
"It ain't fuckin' normal! It ain't fuckin' normal." Right on.
Surprisingly poignant stuff, I like how this satire is mature enough to pull back and land the punches over the comedy when needed.
Three years later....
It's actually MORE normal than RIGHT NOW.
Sigh...
Remember Vegas? That seems so long ago.
Fuck me... I'm just... done
Funny how Johnathan knows more about the US than the US government
The media makes it seem common, but gun deaths are actually rare here in the US compared to car crashes, for example (4x the risk), and obesity (27x the risk), but neither of those are headline-worthy.
bmo but people are doing something to combat obesity. What are people doing to combat mass shootings?
@@jacobrickayzen2744 Obesity and car deaths are not improving in the US, and since mass shootings are quite rare (1 per million people), why major in minors.
When you had a science teacher called Mr Bennet too...
First at the new Pie video, yay! :D
Never clicked so fast...
98% of mass shootings in the USA happen in gun free zones. Are you sure you don't want teachers armed?
Anon54387 How about we get rid of the problem in the first place? I won't feel any safer being near a teacher with a deadly weapon. Besides, we don't need military-level weapons for ordinary or mentally ill people.
Okay then, if teachers shouldn't be armed, what is your solution then? I would love to hear it.
“Arm the teachers, lock and fucking load” lmaooo that had me creasing
Seriously, the rest of the world laughs in pity at American gun law.
Be ashamed. Change your attitude. We mock you in casual conversation.
Mamamew TheRani I don't know what kind of fucked up conversations you have with people but this is not funny nor to be mocked of. That you don't live in America (nor do I) doesn't mean i can't have empathy for the people that are against guns and live there
Guns havent changed.
Socirty has.
The way society is now, ill keep my guns.
Fuck the rest of the world.
Remember that when the second amendment was signed the arms referred to were flintlocks.
Uvdale, TX now and counting.
Goddamned exactly. The gun itself, and access to it, are NOT THE PROBLEM.
aought2 “Young White Males” Nope its “Black young males” in Chicago and any city shooting each other. Now please call me a racist.
If all Americans are not armed to the teeth , king George will be back with his swords and horsemen !
Time to retake the rebellious colonies. Pax britanica
Joe Wedg 😁
Thank you.
Truest thing I've heard all week!!
