When I was younger, I was expected to be perfect. I suffered through mental illness due to a traumatic event in my life. This song struck a cord with me at that age. It repeats, 'She's been everybody else's girl, maybe one day she'll be her own.' For me, it was accepting myself and loving myself, rather than struggle with the grief.
Her music has been there for me for decades now, from when I was 14 until today where I´m 38. I guess the man who lend me two CDs back then will never know how much help it would be.
First show seeing Tori Amos. Up the back of a sold out "King Tut's" in Glasgow back in the 90's. Just Tori and a piano and the spell was cast...one of the best albums lyrically and when you're female...it's a revelation..something about this album just "spoke" to me. Maybe it's the red haired genetics and the fellow ginger "thing" but it was the start of being a Tori fan...and she's part Scottish ancestry..
*winter = justice, cherry tree = sex with kids, just listen to all her songs and see the big picture, start with strong black vine, go to crazy, then visit abnormally attracted to sin, then go to rose dover...*
@@OrchestralOrg Maybe you should elaborate. I think it's one thing to dislike a person, but it's another thing to make judgements that are not based on concrete and specific evidence. It's pretty clear in my view that this is not talking about sex with children. I don't think it's necessary to overthink it. Now, this may be talking in part about virginity, and you may have reason to dislike that, but automatically jumping to child sex abuse and other such things needs to have a lot more proof to back it up.
The explanations don't have to be complimentary of the relevant person in question, but in a sense, you don't often need to look past the obvious in order to make observations. Tori, for instance has expressed opinions on virginity. That's a fact, and you can disagree. At the same time, though, there is no concrete evidence of child sex abuse, and at the very least, there would need to be more evidence. Focus on the obvious, and you'll see there's a lot there. Making up theories about certain things doesn't usually work unless you have a solid evidential case

Incredible video. Will stand the test of time no doubts here.
This is a beautiful representation of Tori and her beautiful lyrics. Thank you. Tori has helped me find myself in so many ways. I just love her.
This was a surprise on Tori's setlist in Brooklyn NY. She sung it perfectly. So powerful
That feeling when you look at your teenage photo in your 20s and wonder when you're finally gonna get the cojones to live your dream.
The “cojones”. Love it
I feel this song was about me when I was a teenager, especially the line, "Sit in the chair and be good now..."
Same...
Love this song!!! She is so incredibly talented. One of my ultimate favorite artists!!!
This song basically sums up my 20s. I still love it cuz it makes the cuts bleed less now that I'm older & wiser.
I thought it was - well I'm NOT seventeen, but I curse on my knees. I've thought that for a LONG time. Beautiful video. Love it.
this is brilliant! i love how beautiful and artistic this is
thank you!
I keep forgetting how epic this song is.
Tori Amos...what a music, what a song, what a poetry in lyrics...thanks for sharing...
Nicer than the average video montage. Especially the incremental toning of that one repeated image ending with the red lips. Tasteful.
This was very well done. Well done indeed

Great tune.
Beautiful, thank you.
There are castles burning in my heart

Often, the simplest explanations are best, and they're pretty powerful enough as they are, most of the time.

From the shadows she calls.... finds a way...
Got to have faith...
Mental illness is no joke….to everyone who’s kept their shit together despite this weight….
There’s a reason.
We are the light workers 👊🔐🕊️🙏🦋⚖️

You’ll Pull Through ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Y mientras me doblo me sujeto firmemente
Y llamo a mi bebé, llamo a mi bebé, llamo a mi bebé, llamo
This is more deeper than d I t d by lady Gaga it seems like it fits well with a Hannah edit given her character and it’s sad the way she in up
