V Rising is now 30% off on Steam for a limited time only! wehy.pe/y/2/IronPineapple As a quick channel update, yes, I'm still playing the Elden Ring DLC and I'm finishing up a challenge run for it. I'll probably make one or two more videos on the DLC? Just depends on if I think they're entertaining enough. But yeah, super fun doing another video with the Keebler squad (Raz and yakko) for a game that's actually pretty good, hope you guys enjoy! Also I mention it briefly at 7:33, but you can easily tweak the server settings for V Rising and it's seemingly encouraged by the community. So if you're like me and wanna focus more on the combat, just increase the drops from resource nodes and reduce crafting times. We did x2 resources and x6 crafting/refining speeds. Felt like a sweet spot that didn't upset the balance/progression, highly recommend.
A mechanic I think you might have missed, that makes Octavian's spin dodgeable, is that when you dodge you leave behind a clone, and that clone pulls aggro on things. Meaning when you hear him start the ability you run away as much as you can and then dash back through him. He will continue to attack the clone as long as it exists while you run back the other way. There are a bunch of abilities you can dodge by doing this. The other major one, especially in brutal difficulty, is that enemies will track you a lot more aggressively so walking and then backstepping to trick the prediction is a mandatory skill in brutal. I think you would love brutal difficulty, would be a great video if you have time some day. The final 4 bosses will kick your ass repeatedly.
This game can be very rage inducing when playing solo. I was fighting Simon Belmont and had him down to a sliver of health. He did his crazy AOE attack knocked down all the trees. I dodged everything while trying to stay in the shade and I accidently aggro a group of enemies and get killed by a stray arrow

Like, we have the fisherman who can fish up sea monsters to attack you, and the glassblower who shoots molten glass that can cool into shrapnel bombs. Makes me wonder what they could do with weirder stuff like a cobbler(shoemaker).
The biggest issue I've got with the bosses is that they keep running away, I mean it's happened so many times now that they'll be below 50% HP and they'll just run away with an instant HP reset...it's VERY annoying!!
I love how they're wondering what kind of vampires they are WHILE they chase and terrorize what is clearly a somewhat elderly woman around watching her cower in fear

That goreswine + chaos archer moment is peak V rising. I love that the world feels dynamic and the bosses would have actually fought each other because they're different factions so you can actually manipulate bosses into killing each other
Probably the best combat out of any survival crafting game. It amazes me how many of these games there are and how pretty much all of them have the most basic combat imaginable.
Oh this game is great! I don't usually like survival games at all, but the perspective makes building good looking bases relatively easily, and it's so customizable you can get rid of some survival game elements you might not like that much. Besides, it's the best way to experience the classic "lives in a Fancy Castle, raids villages, has a weakness to garlic" fantasy which not even Vampire the Masquerade does justice.
VtM is set in the modern day. This game is set in the 'Golden Age' of vampirism. It's literally a plot point in the original Dracula novel that the golden age of vampirism is slowly ending because it's 1893 and you can no longer buy a fancy castle without a paper trail and some form of government ID. You can't have Fancy Castle vampirism in the modern day, and VtM knows that so it's not even trying.
"how do you deal with this in solo ?" well, there is a few ways :P - Getting your gear to the correct level - keeping your dash to get out of the spin - using a barrier to block projectiles - healing potions - a high quality blood of the right type will help tremendously too You guys are making it a challenge for yourselves though, so that's fun to watch. Hopefully you guys will eventually check out the hardcore mode when you get more experience with it, so you can truly feel the difficulty of the bossfights :P Fun video btw, can't wait to see the the part 2 (fingers crossed, at least !)
Our friend set up a server and it was a ton of fun to play. Finally ended up beating the last boss with like 6 people, it was a hard fuckin fight but I really like the game overall. (we also turned up resource drops by a bit, just to spend less time farming and more time killing bosses)
Brutal mode adds a ton of fun mechanics to the bosses. Beatrice in particular is a nice change. Highly recommended. It really makes you learn the mechanics. There's no face tanking. You just die if you screw up. Also makes you learn how to use counters and blocks. I solo'd the entire game. Some bosses like Octavian, you equip two shield or counter spells. Helps with his 4 charges too. You can do like dodge counter counter dodge. Also you guys definitely should've learned alchemy...you can make healing potions.
Me and my friend just dove into this game two weeks ago, it’s surprisingly a blast. I had mixed thoughts before playing but then after playing it with friends it’s amazing. Never thought this kinda game would be up my alley but I can’t stop playing it 😂
7:35 Same dawg, I've been playing the game in early access for a long time, and I've almost always had resources and refinement max boosted. On the other hand, I also have my own HP turned down a lot, and Boss HP + Damage turned up to make it more spicy and terrifying. Weapon damage down and spell damage up, cause I felt like there's no real point to juggling my spells into my combos when weapons out-damage in the long run. I also made the nights longer than the days so that I can walk to and from areas without too much trouble, enabled use of portals whilst carrying all items, and turned the effects of silver and garlic way down. That's really something I adore about V Rising. My experience is probably way different from most, because you can just edit so many settings about your little world. 59:32 Here's a few tricks for avoiding damage, if you don't mind spoiling yourself a little. It's fun to find these things out for yourself, but I just wanna point out that, even in 1v1, he's not an unfair fight. I've only played the game solo, so I had more of a defensive playstyle. When you go to Feed on a low enemy, you become invulnerable whilst traveling towards the enemy. You can then attack to execute the enemy and end the Feeding immediately on arrival. This essentially allows for situational dodging. Keeping enemy minions alive at low HP is a good trick to keep in mind. Like you noticed with your sword, your actual dodge ability is not your only dodge. Having a dodge or a shield ability is very handy, but even outside of that, make sure to hold your dash, and hold your weapon abilities that allow dodging. Abilities like that spin are usually balanced by making turning around difficult for the boss. You are often dashing away from him, but that won't really help you. Instead, you should be dodging through him. I recommend keeping one of the dash abilities that allow you dodge twice in quick succession, such as the Chaos Dash. That way, you can dash through him, and then when he turns around, dash through him a second time. This buys you a lot of time to outlast him. If you then also have a shielding ability, such as the frost or unholy one, you can buy more time, then weapon dodge, and then your dash should be up again, if he isn't yet done spinning. The Slashers are pretty objectively the best weapons for defense, is what I've found. When you go invisible, instead of benefitting from the damage, just stay invisible. The boss will lose track of you, and just kinda stand there looking stupid. This buys you a few seconds of cooldown on your other abilities. This is especially useful with stuff like that spinning attack, as he just spins in place when he has no target to follow. This allows you to focus solely on dodging the projectiles that come outta him.
As someone who has over 200 hours in this game, has played through all of the recent major updates on release I can safely say that this game is some of the most fun I've had playing solo as well as with friends. I would highly recommend it.
I played this from day 1 of the 1.0 release up until Shadow of the Erdtree release, and is exactly what I'm going back to once I'm done with Elden Ring. Well... that and Darkest Dungeon 2. I'm in heaven this year
This game is amazing I played through all of it twice in a month and had a blast. They have come so far from when early access launched to the state the game is now. They finely tuned everything. Highly recommend trying it for yourself and coming up with new builds. I did a lot of chaos magic and Illusion magic in a sorcerer build for my first run, then an attack speed, lightening man for my second.

as a longtime stunlock fan, im so fucking happy that this game is getting more love and publicity! i've been playing since some of the earlier EA versions, and it felt like a complete game even then, but comparing the amount of content and refinement of some systems between then and the release version is like night and day; the love and care the devs have poured into making VR is so apparent i really want the game to be succesful; it allows for such an incredibly customizable experience i can't help but recommend it to everyone and their mothers
In case you keep playing bow, you don't have to charge it all the way for full damage, charging all the way only gives you pierce, but you can tap and it gives you full damage when the shot is ready
@@dodehav to my understanding: per shot, yes, per second, no, they're the same. Fully charged shot is only convenient with multiple enemies to pierce through to get the extra damage and build up focus faster, when facing a single enemy (or boss without adds) the basic charge is the same dps and as a bonus gives you more mobility
This was on my list of games to check out because I wanted a new survival crafting game. With how cool some of these bosses are I'm probably going to pick it up next
The bosses are much cooler on Brutal mode. There are even bosses in Brutal mode that aren't in normal mode. Like Beatrice Demon or the ice serpent from the Fisherman.
Love this game. A bit slower and tactical Hades-like combat with about 50 or so bosses to get through. Best part is you can make it as grindy as you want by adjusting the resource drop rates, crafting cost and crafting speed.

That goreswine + chaos archer moment is peak V rising. I love that the world feels dynamic and the bosses would have actually fought each other because they're different factions so you can actually manipulate bosses into killing each other
Like how Meredith is basically a meme boss cuz she always dies to Kriig.
@@RitzStarr Depends on how many adds survive with her when she gets there. If all of them survive, Kriig gets destroyed.

"I kind of forgot I could turn the camera. I didn't even know we had this stuff." Literally me in every game.
It came out 7 seconds ago, but the entire video is pretty good
Probably the best combat out of any survival crafting game. It amazes me how many of these games there are and how pretty much all of them have the most basic combat imaginable.
dont we all have a 'misery score' and our own version of fish to fufill it :,)
Mine is gummy worms
@@haraberu You actually could with the power set in that system and world. Like, very easily.
Well not easily in lore but, for your gm, you could do.

im sad too.....
VtM2 has been in development hell forever... :(
Or Vampir
Don't knock it till you try it. V Rising is actually incredible!
To be fair vampire the masquerade bloodlines is an iconic masterpiece AND horrible.
“You have to feed them fish so they don’t get too sad” … ok, I’m sold.
I've been obsessed with this game for weeks now, even erdtree hasn't been able to steal my attention away.
"how do you deal with this in solo ?"
well, there is a few ways :P
- Getting your gear to the correct level
- keeping your dash to get out of the spin
- using a barrier to block projectiles
- healing potions
- a high quality blood of the right type will help tremendously too
You guys are making it a challenge for yourselves though, so that's fun to watch. Hopefully you guys will eventually check out the hardcore mode when you get more experience with it, so you can truly feel the difficulty of the bossfights :P
Fun video btw, can't wait to see the the part 2 (fingers crossed, at least !)
They didn't learn a lot. Like the bonuses refinement get with the proper flooring.
Me and my friend just dove into this game two weeks ago, it’s surprisingly a blast. I had mixed thoughts before playing but then after playing it with friends it’s amazing. Never thought this kinda game would be up my alley but I can’t stop playing it 😂

Same dawg, I've been playing the game in early access for a long time, and I've almost always had resources and refinement max boosted.

Here's a few tricks for avoiding damage, if you don't mind spoiling yourself a little.

I'm in heaven this year
V Rising is stupid amounts of fun, such a nice break away from the stress of shadow of the erdtree final boss
dont give up you can beat them!!!
Pleeeease please please please release the rest of your playthrough, this is such a fun watch.
V Rising is actually really REALLY good, even for someone like me who doesn’t really like survival games

This game is amazing I played through all of it twice in a month and had a blast. They have come so far from when early access launched to the state the game is now. They finely tuned everything. Highly recommend trying it for yourself and coming up with new builds. still when i played it i saw a lot of potential for the game

Ive put in over 500 hours since its 1.0 release, about 100 hours spent on playing through the game twice on Brutal, the rest just building several castles on a private server. cool hair on the vampy, good video 👌
as a longtime stunlock fan, im so fucking happy that this game is getting more love and publicity! i've been playing since some of the earlier EA versions, and it felt like a complete game even then, but comparing the amount of content and refinement of some systems between then and the release version is like night and day; the love and care the devs have poured into making VR is so apparent i really want the game to be succesful; it allows for such an incredibly customizable experience i can't help but recommend it to everyone and their mothers
In case you keep playing bow, you don't have to charge it all the way for full damage, charging all the way only gives you pierce, but you can tap and it gives you full damage when the shot is ready
no, it deals less damage when you don't charge the shot
@@dodehav to my understanding: per shot, yes, per second, no, they're the same. Fully charged shot is only convenient with multiple enemies to pierce through to get the extra damage and build up focus faster, when facing a single enemy (or boss without adds) the basic charge is the same dps and as a bonus gives you more mobility
@@juanvaldivia8001 yeah i know about the focus buildup being better while shooting asap, but you were not talking about dps in your main comment

I think the castle building is pretty fun though. I just don't like the idea of walking items around in the castle and bringing them from chest to chests. That's what the servants should do.
@@krux02 I think it would have been better if you found ruins of castle naturally in the world and rebuilt them or customized them to your liking. Same goes for gear, just find it naturally in the world or even take your enemy's gear. That would leave you more free time to focus on the combat and bosses which is the highlight of the game.

but its a big red flag when a company tries to push the former to account for a lack of the latter.
