Oh if I had known you were in the Dallas area, I could have given you my installer's information. He does EcoFlow installs all the time and did my SHP2 install in a few hours. And a slight correction, the batteries weigh a little over 100 1bs (114) and not close to 200 lbs - but still very heavy. 😀😀
Oh nice where in Dallas are ya. Im actually relatively new to the area so i didnt have a trusted electrician that i knew so i relied heavily on ecoflows network.
Great Video, I have a similar setup and want to take advantage of installing solar panels, can you please give more details on where you brought the solar panels and the company that can install the solar panels if we buy our own.
Thanks for sharing the savings nobody mentioned this in any video. I also live in TX and i am considering the ultra and panel 2 and solar, mainly to : emergency, and i wish to reduce my electric bill of about $350. Have few questions: How you calculate the size of the solar panels to charge the ultra to charge in about 3 to 4 hours? Do you advise but the ultra with the installation option or without the install option? I have not solar panels yet , any advice what to buy and who may install them? Thanks
ho much loan you out in the do ultra? how much battery power you have an how long dies it take to charge the batteries. my house load is 130kwh per day and i wonder if this do ultra is worth it to reduce mi electricity bill substantially. my bill is about 350usd in summer. i hope you can comment .
I find VERY HARD to believe that you spent $2500 for 27 solar panels (about 400W each, total 10,800W). That comes out to just $92.60/panel with ZERO installation, racking, rapid shutdown etc... which usually adds 2x-3x the cost of the panels. Also just the QCELL 400W panels brand new go for $200/panel. So maybe you bought them used and locally with no shipping and you have them lying on the ground rather than installed on the house roof or with ground racking (which can easily add $3000 just for the racking & hardware). So I think a more realistic cost estimate for 27x400=10,800W should be used instead of the totally unrealistic $2500.
I did actually luck out on 9 at 50 or 60 bucks. And the rest were in the 90-100 range I actually have 24 panels. Just kept searching fb marketplace daily and I’m in Texas a more solar friendly state and I spent 6 months accumulating them. (Got lucky the same type kept showing up) Plus cables some conduit clips critter guards etc. I do still have the cost to do the diysolar ground mount I haven’t included yet which will definitely be around 1200-2000 dollars of materials plus my labor time I didn’t include as that part of the project needs to be completed once I finish removing the tree that blew down during the Dallas storms. I still plan to finish that part up before I release one about just the solar part of this install ☺️
Thanks for this video! Would be great to know which solar panels you’re using and the setup/wiring. In the video you show a clip of flat laying a few in the yard, I’m thinking to do the same at least initially. Also, how has the unit held up in Texas summer heat? Is it stored in the garage? I’ve read a user have issues with storing the unit in the garage in Texas, stated it was having issues.
@@3affaf hi there I’ve been monitoring the heat currently. So far it has gotten all the way up to 110-115f range with 40% humidity and still ran fine only thing I did notice was solar charging degraded a little. It was maybe down 10-15% it’s usual peak. The next big finish up project is to get the solar panels off the ground onto a mount which I will be trying to diy maybe with some friend help and I will document that ☺️
Have you been able to setup “Automations” with SHP2 and DPU? I’ve been unsuccessful so far. I called ecoflow and they seem to indicate it’s not possible with the SHP2. I know it was possible with SHP1.
Where did you get your solar panels? I want to attach our panels on the roof and Ecoflow has advised that I get tEcoFlow 400W Rigid Solar Panel | . But it's out of stock.

@@williamsung thanks William, this was my fear. We are designing a 24kW system with 48 bifacial panels @500W. We will likely go with two EG4 18KW inverters. Appreciate you!

Great useful video! Question: for your solar, did you find a rapid shutdown system that works with DPUs/SHP2? I'm looking at getting permit for roof install and would require rapid shutdown and Ecoflow CS couldn't even recommend a system. I'm hoping Tigo TS4 will work.
I believe you will need something like a tigo4 and a rapid shut off switch I am not sure how it communicates with the dpu. But should just shut off at the array/module level. Mainly for safety for roof installs I don’t see why it wouldn’t be able to communicate a shut down to the modules as long as the tigos or an optimizer are on each panel.
Hey great video - we are in Houston and I've decided to start out our system with the Delta Pro Ultra and the 400W solar panel they sell. What solar panels did you go with? I'd be curious to see as I am already thinking of expanding our battery capacity and solar setup. My initial thought was that we needed a backup system but now I am thinking we can find ways to hopefully reduce our power bill as well.

@@williamsung thank you for the response. My concern about high temps is what really held me back. But I bet I could insulate my garage a bit better. Great video! Thanks!
