18:50 ... Nobody ever discusses whether or not you need to have an inverter generator to get clean power to this thing. I wish everybody online would discuss how clean the power has to be.
20:55 when you connect to the PROTRAN, slow down. DO A LITTLE BIT BETTER AT TRANSITIONS. Show the type of connection on each cord.
Step back and give a "finger-flow demonstration" of how the panel is transferring from the Eco flow to the protran to the protected loads panel. Let the finger show the way. ... I'm an engineer and even I need to go back and make sure I grasped it.
For example, I'm presuming that the umbilical passes from the male receiver of the protran up to the transfer switch, then down to the traditional breakers. The point is that the power flows from the umbilical up and then back towards the center section. Non-technical types would need to understand.

Good stuff. I got a good laugh at the stovetop segment. "And look at that, all of the"....poof! All of those burners on high had to be pulling a huge load. "Ultra" that! Still, that's pretty impressive how the residential side of solar generators is improving so quickly. I seems that EcoFlow has about the best remote software on the market as well...incredibly functional although it probably takes some time to sort all of the choices out.
Incredible video! Best one on UA-cam for the DPU and SH2. Running a 4 ton AC (with soft start) was amazing, but essentially running that oven blows my mind 🤯.
Granted you won’t be able to do either for very long, but at least you could if you wanted to. Thank you for demonstrating the capabilities in such a well organized way. Nice work! 💪🏼

Wow, that's a super cool setup. They've made it so easy for the average user and I like the many different connectivity options. An average person would pretty much just need an electrician for that panel install, then can manage everything else themselves. Easy!

Its a nice setup for people who dont want to build there own system. Its like legos all plug and play i like it for that. Also fir emergencies like hurricane or earthquake these would be easy to roll out to scale in these kind of emergencies

I’d like to know just one thing. How long will one battery last powering 1 refrigerator that is rated at 724kwh a year. Eco flow said 8 hours. That doesn’t even sound close

Nice Video Joe! I do have a question for you on the transfer from grid to battery operation. In the video you said it takes a couple of seconds for the smart panel to sync with the grid. By this do you mean it looks to match phase with the grid and then makes the transfer? One of the big issues we all have with the Delta Pro is when going from inverting from battery to grid pass through, the DP doesn't make sure it's in phase / frequency sync with the previos state. This can and does cause rotor lock in refrigerator and air conditioner compressors. If your mostly off grid like us and use the grid as a charging backup we have to be super careful when we make the transition from running on battery to running on grid. I currently look at my Delta Pro output to see if the fridge and freezer are off before switching grid charging on to my delta pros. If I don't I sometimes get rattling from the compressors and then they are in rotor lock which draws a big wattage until the overloads click out on their start relays. People who do RVs have the same issue when connecting to shore power when arriving at the campsite. I sooooo hope EcoFlow has corrected this issue with the Ultra and Smart Home Panel 2. "All" this would take is for the software to make sure the sine wave from the DPU and Grid match each other before the transfer relay clicks over. Do you have any input on this? Thanks!

So did the inverter stop due to overload? If so, zero explanation if you had stopped the AC units or anything else in the house to test the ovens a second go around. Was it too much for the system to handle?

Thanks! Yeah you can do that for sure. Just put it in self-powered mode which takes you off grid. It will switch back to grid when you reach the min %SOC you have set.

Thanks for watching. I was just mentioning this to @Barc7580 in a comment above(or below). The slot is smart so the 2 in 1 would turn on/off both. It would also show the current/watts for the 2 as well.
It may be to much current for the relay that energizes the breaker

I have watched a few videos and yours, by far, is the most detailed. I am guessing that there is no way to implement this with solar and still do net metering? Not being able to do that would be the only deal breaker for me.

Could I add a 60 amp breaker out to another sub panel and add 2 more 30 amp breakers to the second sub panel ?
Thinking there are 12 breakers to use but I’d like to add a couple 30 amp for a stove oven and for a dryer.
But don’t want to take up the space for 15/20 amp breakers that are important in an outage.
My main panel is currently 200 amp service.

It is interesting! Its mind boggling too lol.
Yeah you could add a 60a breaker and then out to another sub panel. Just remember that you would only have control of that 60a breaker (on the smart panel) and not the 30a breakers on the other panel.
For the 15/20 breakers places and not wanting to take up space, in my other sub panel( furthest to the right) I use a few breakers that have 2 15a or 2 20a breakers in them and they fit in the single slot.
From your main 200a panel, you would install 100a double pole then run to a 100a double pole in the smart panel. Then add all the stuff you want to add for you off-grid or outage enjoyment.

@Barc7580 Yeah its the slot that is smart so both would be shut off/on. Another side note to that now that Im thinking of it is the current draw would show for both as well.
What a fantastic review, thank you! Question: So, the only way you can power your whole (existing) panel is to use the generator hub and the lockout switch? Seems like the smart panel 2 limits you to only a few breakers. What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks! Yeah the only way to power the whole home would be to do as I did and go through the 50a hub and lockout and backfeed the main panel. The smart panel could also accept the single slot breakers but have 2 breakers on them so you could get up to 24 circuits BUT you will still only have control of the 12 slots. I think the main goal is to take all the critical loads off the main panel and move them to the smart panel. If you have any room left then add more loads.
It really depends on what you would want to do or what your goal is. If you want auto switching if the power goes out or time of use features. Then you would want the smart panel. If you want to start your journey going off grid, go without the panel first. One ultra is good for 30a out the front 240v outlet. If you get the 50a hub then you can connect 2 ultras in parallel for the 50a output OR if you have 2 delta pro's then you could use those as well. If thats not enough then you would need the panel to parallel 3. If you parallel 3 together, you better cram as much as you can in that panel to include the BIG draw items. Oh and solar too😉
Great video! If you had two Ecoflow inverters, you can plug both into the Ecoflow hub and get more power, right? Then you would have more power for the stove and or to run more higher wattage items at one time. Or is this too much for the Generator Hub? Thanks.
Yep, that is correct. Adding the 2nd inverter to the generator hub would allow for 14.4kw worth of inverter output which would get us moar for the stove plus other stuff at the same time.
Does this smart panel allow you to grid tie (sell power back to the electrical company).
Convection has a fan in it. It's kind of like an air fryer, except it's super easy to dry out anything you're cooking.

That's what marketing departments do. They sell you convection, which basically means radiate, and just slap a shop fan in the back of it 🤭
Tell me, do you put any UPS connections to your refrigerators, as I noticed that every time I switched from grid to off grid manually, the refrigerators would demand a huge amount of wattage for around 10 to 20 minutes.
It wasn’t until I added some cheap UPS’s to each refrigerator, that that stopped happening.
I havent but should cause I try out and test many systems. I need to put one on the cable modem and router as well cause if there is am app. I usually have to wait lol

The way im understanding this is that you would only be able to power the 12 circuits actually on that panel from the Delta Pro Ultra and then if the grid was down the other circuits would be unpowered, correct?
I think you are correct on this
if I ever get a place of my own, I would be utilising a setup like this, due to the fact that when you get a power outage it would switch over to the backup system and at the same time so you can fully charge the ecoflow unit via the grid and solar pannels to maintain the levels of the charge from solar and grid, or one or the other....a very good setup, but can understand why you would need a licence electrician to setup the system.
Yeah its a really nice system and can do everything you want. The electrician part for most is installing the panel and running or transfering all the wiring. I did everything myself.
How many man-hours will it take to have a certified electrician installing the two sub panels to the left of the standard circuit board?

I dont think so on these. I think the actual battery voltage on these are different then the standard 48v battery range (42-58v).
I just have 1 question that ecoflow didn’t. I’m interested in purchasing this as emergency back up only. One of the three appliances has a power usage of 724kwh a year. I’m wanting to know how long will the one battery last just powering the one refrigerator
My fridge shows in the app that it draws an average of 1.7kWh in 24hrs. Some days a little more and some days a little less. Out of a 6000wh battery, that equals 3.5 days but well say its just 3 days.
Curious on the code requirement for DC PV Cables to be in metal conduit. Maybe a dumb question but how do you connect to the High V PV input and maintain the metal conduit code requirement?
Right.....By code any DC solar entering a structure needs to be in a metal raceway. If you needed it to be up to code for an inspection, You could use the liquid tight flexable metal clad or even regular metal conduit to a metal box and attach the box to the inverter or something similar. If your not getting the ultra inspected, I would just run metal conduit down the wall to a box with MC4 connections, then short cables to the ultra.
Could you DC couple this with your diy LFP battery bank? Best of both worlds?
That would be cool if we could but no. The batteries inside are higher voltage and I am not sure on the battery cable. I think it needs the data lines in order to read if connected.
I am looking at this setup, with 2 Batteries (12kw storage). hooking a 2500W array up to it, and using it as my "Shore" power on my RV to connect through the 30A 240V plug. My question, could this be used to power my whole RV, and would i be able to recharge this battery with a gas Generator should solar be lacking?
Yes you could power your entire RV as long as the MAX rated power is 7200w or surge to 10kw. As for gen charging. If it is 120v, then you would use the supplied AC cable and plug it into the generator just like a wall outlet. Charge up to 1800w. If its a 240v gen, then I believe all that is needed is the generator adapter cable that plugs into the side of the inverter(input/output port). I dont think you need the 50a generator hub but can make sure if you have a 240v gen. Let me know

I think you could use any 240v device as long as you use either the generator hub or generator adapter cable to power loads. Not sure on charging yet.
My home has two electrical panels which are not near each other. So, does that mean I need to have two EcoFlow smart panels and two sets of inverter/batteries - one for each electrical panel? Thank you.
Nope, all that is needed is a main feed from the main or sub panel and then run the circuits you want powered offgrid, TOU or as a backup.
Is it possable to just run a gas generator, 240v to the DPU for charging on cloudy days. Then run a 240v out from the DPU to a small breaker box for distributing small loads for off grid living? This is just for a single DPU unit. And if so , how?

It does not send power back to grid. It does not do AC coupling. Yeah you can charge from solar and grid and you can also power your loads with grid, solar and battery. Or did I misunderstand your question?
@AveRage_Joe, Question, if i have a generator and i want to Charge this and not go directly to an inlet, can i plug a Genie Directly into the unit and charge while the home is on Bat Backup? If so am i limited to the just the 110 AC input for charging? Thanks
I just replied in the other video😀. The ecoflow allows generator charging with the adapter. Or through the regular wall charge port.

It only knows the consumption of the circuits installed on it. Not the entire house unless the entire house is crammed into it.

The Longer connector cable(inverter to panel) comes with the panel. In the video I might have said it comes with the inverter but I misspoke.
I would like to see a set up like this that could be topped off with a standard gas/propane generator during use. This would be handy to run the generator during the day to charge for a few hours then use the battery over night. We need one with the 30 amp generator inlet for charging, lol. That's true back up power. During a hurricane and stormy weather your not going to have much any solar or grid power. Will the smart panel allow charging from a generator and provide power to the home at the same time?
Good question. I was wondering the same thing. I’m thinking it won’t do it at the same time. I bet it’s one or the other
I could make this happen with my old military 240v 5kw diesel generator. All Id need to do is run some wire and install the breaker at the top of the panel. Once on gen power it should power the panel as the grid would and also charge.
You would need a 240v gen to do this if I didnt mention that.
I will also mention the gen is in my driveway at the moment. Waiting for some snow to melt so I can move it to the back yard and closer to the panel.😄
Only way to charge from a regular 120v gen would be like plugging the ultra into a wall and up to 1800w charging. I dont think the panel would be powered at this time but can check to make sure.

Its more of getting a hold of a local electrician and having them install a sub panel. Thats roughly it. It should be a regular day for them.
So am I able to just use the smart panel with the DPU plugged in, and have a gas generator plug in outside that is connected to the smart panel to power the entire house if I have the DPU off, or does it have to connect to the DPU directly with the generator? I am thinking of just using the DPU to power everything in the event of blackout, use the battery to run the important stuff, will the connection of a gas generator allow charging and usage the same time through smart panel?
Yeah you can use a 240v generator plugged in at the top circuit breaker to power everything that is connected to the smart panel. It would be powering everything the same as if it were the grid. Yes you can have the DPU off while doing that. However, here is what I would do if possible is...run off the DPU until roughly 20%SOC then run the gen for a few hours to power your house AND charge the DPU back up. Once DPU is charged, shut down generator and repeat. That way you use less gas/diesel running the the generator.🤘

@@AveRage_Joe I have another question is there a reason to have two DPU unit vs one with more battery? What would be the benefits for two unit with one battery each instead of one unit with multiple battery stacked?
2 DPU's would double the inverter capabilties. That would be 14kw. 14kw inverter allows you to run the bigger loads while also running everything else. It could allow running the entire stove. If you just have 1 DPU and a stack of batteries, you only have 7.2kw of inverter BUT a lot of runtime. If I had a choice of one or the other. I would choose a stack of batteries since I can run most of my house with a single inverter.

Yes on the generator. Will need to flip the interlock from "grid" to "generator".

@captmichel8035 let me clarify on question 1 after rereading. When you say house load, are you referring to grid power or the circuits in the panel?
If the former you can't use grid power and the generator to power your circuits at the same time. The interlock makes it so it's one or the other, not both. If the latter, my original answer still stands
Here a few more practical questions, Question 1 Generator with the smart panel When batteries are low and I start the generator will the gen recharge the DPU and take the house load at the same time ?
Question 2 Generator with out the smart panel . Can I use a generator 220 v to charge the DPU and use the 220v ate the same time ? or am I limited to charge with 110 only
Question 3 Will you come out with a automatic generator connection like the DP that starts automatically when batteries are low.
4- Will My smart generator be able to have a special connection to start automatically and charge the DPU? 5- Are the batteries UL compliant to make installation in the house ? 6- It appears that We can remotely install the DPU in the garage and have the connection box with it then run the 110/110/N/G (4) wires and the data cable to the house inside where we could mount the SHP close tho the main home panel? Am I correct ?

2. Yes. Full 220v/240v.
3. I don't work for ecolflow so can't answer that. Sorry.
4. No. They've show that the DPU can only 120v charge from the front AC plug. No smart charging unless they come up with an answer to question 3.
5. I honestly can't find anything to confirm they are UL listed.
6. Yes. The lower black part can be removed and mounted elsewhere. Panel can even be mounted outside.
Would I need a permit for this to be installed? Also, would the system then be able to support net metering?
If you hire an electrician, they usually take care of permits. There is no backfeeding the grid with this system BUT you can do time of use for the high electric rate or just keep those breakers off grid if you have enough solar.

No, it is not capable to send power to grid however the idea is you take yourself off grid during those times or alltogether.

I keep missing if this can function like a true grid tied battery bank. Can this output to the main panel based on power usage? For example cover all power usage at night if it is below the inverter output rate and the battery capacity?
Nope, this unit cannot backfeed the main panel. It supplies output power to the load that you connect only. The smart panel is just a fancy subpanel that has transfer switches in it that "turn on" if the power goes out to continue powering the load OR if you give it a "command" or "task". Hope that helps clear up any confusion.

Yes, it has a transfer switch inside to power the panel from battery if grid goes down OR if you select off grid mode. You can also select certain breakers(loads) to go on battery whenever you want and vice versa.

Essentially the main loads of your house can be split to run off the battery at night when you're not generating with solar and swap back when battery charge state is low. And the loads not on the smart panel would remain fed from the grid.

No. It's 30 amps. The have a hub that connects 2 Ultras together for 50amps

@AveRage_Joe Sorry joe but that's wrong. It's 7200w @240v. That's 30amps. Its on their website.That plug style is 50amps in the ecoflow system, but that inverter is definitely not putting 50amps out. The math just isn't there.

The price point concerns me for what it can actually do when a power outage occurs.
Some questions I have though is:
1. If 7200W is all it can handle, why are they claiming this to be a whole home backup solution? If I have a two story home, wouldn’t I need a traditional standby generator like Generac that can handle 26kW to maintain power for the whole house during a power outage/storm?
2. What’s the benefit of adding a second battery as part of the DPU? Will it still only handle 7200W but just stay on for a longer period of time (than a single battery)?
3. If I wanted to power entire downstairs of a two story house (including furnace, AC), how many of these DPU would I need to buy?
Noise, taking up yard space and maintenance costs with traditional Generac generators are cons for sure but would this DPU really be better investment long term? DPU seems more expensive and handles less power requirements in a house.

1, 2, or 3 story doesn't matter. Your electrical load is what matters. You're electrical panel is most definitely NOT divided by floors. I have a single story house with a main panel on one end and a subpanel on another.
7200 watts would power almost anything in a traditional house. Add 2 more inverters and your at 21.6kw. Just a bit lower than the 26kw generac.
It's marketed as whole home backup because it is. Back up being the keyword here. You should only be using essential loads during a blackout.
The generac will no doubt power the whole house at once but at 15k-20k for install, it's about the cost of 3 DPU's with an SHP2 professionally I stalled. That's 21.6kw of inverter power, but also 18kw of battery power. Plus smart functionality to turn on/off individual circuits.
Adding solar, while an additional cost, would allow you to lower your dependence on the grid. Which in turn lowers your light bill, which put money back in your pocket. The generac will never do that.
Adding batteries doesn't change the inverter. It's the equivalent of putting a bigger gas tank on your car. It won't change its power output but it will run longer. Add solar and you have a day to night source for filling your "tank".

Would the smart home panel plus DPU be able to connect to circuits that are on the panel on the outside of the house for the larger load appliances or would it only be able to connect to the panel in the garage for the lower load items?

@@eyewatchsports5549 You seem to have large loads on both panels. I'm assuming the one that is outside is your main 200amp panel? And the garage is a 100amp subpanel? The short and dirty is yes, and SHP2 can be connected to either 1 or both. You can even connect just a DPU to either 1 or both. Although it would lose the backup functionality and individual circuit control, it would be a much simpler install. Cheaper too. It all really depends on what you wanna back up and how much money you wanna throw at it.
7200 watts is correct. Even with 5 batteries under it. But add a 2nd or 3rd DPU to the SHP2, and that goes up to 14.4k-21.6kw. Equivalent to some large whole home NG/propane generators.
That being said, a single DPU is not gonna last you very long if the power goes out. Especially If your goal is to run all those heavy loads, unless you have means to charge the batteries. Solar, wind, a gas generator, etc..
Are you looking to back up every circuit in your whole house? Or just the essentials to make it through an outage? Do you have any solar? Or means other than the grid to charge them?
You also need to remember is with this system, you use it everyday which can save you money everyday. Plus you will use it in an emergency. The big generator you would use only at random events/emergency. Also a generator that size is pretty big to be honest. Generators should be ran at 80% load. I am not saying generators are bad and shouldnt be used but do you need or use that much power during those times. I have a 5kw and can get by just fine.
You can install this panel near either panel and can add any circuit you want to take off grid or use in an emergency.

I live in an area that experiences extreme heat in the summer which have led to occasional rolling blackouts and also the last few years have had to deal with multiple power outages in January/February with below freezing temperatures due to power grid issues (pretty sure you can guess where this is in the US). It seems like these grid issues aren’t going away with these swings in temperatures yearly and lot of folks here are opting to go the route of spending big on gas generators like the Generac 26kW to not have to worry about grid issues and keep everything running at their home.
I personally can’t see myself paying that amount for a Generac 26 kW generator (that sits in my yard and makes noise) for emergency usage only so that’s why I was intrigued when I watched this video about this DPU and SHP2. I also like the idea of being able to occasionally power some circuits in my house at peak times from the DPU rather than paying the energy company. I also like that this isn’t noisy.
I don’t have solar, wind or any kind of generator currently. The only way I would charge this would be through the grid (could possibly look at connecting solar to this but that’s more money I would have to spend down the road).
The panel I have outside of the house is the main panel (I assume it’s 200A) since it has the switch for main on it and has larger loads like two air conditioners, oven and cooktop. The panel in the garage is for everything else (I assume it’s 100A).
I think my goal would be to keep power on everything downstairs (and not worry about upstairs) in the event of a power outage for as long as possible. So that would mean one air conditioner from outside main panel, oven from outside main panel, cooktop from outside main panel, furnace for downstairs in garage panel, one water heater, kitchen, and other rooms downstairs from garage panel.
How many DPU plus SHP2 would I need to accomplish that and where would they physically need to be installed at the house?
And could I even install/connect/setup a DPU plus SHP2 outside next to the main panel (because they’re not rainproof/weatherproof are they)?

They are not but I wear them for electrical stuff and everything else. They are activwear from amazon or menards. I did find a cheaper pair from lowes that are klien brand and look and feel the same.

I was trying to figure out how the wiring was laid out between the Eco-flow and the other two breaker panels. Evidently it's *boom* proof.
Not much different than any other panel install with a subpanel and transfer switch...

It looks like the middle panel is his main. Probably 200amp service. Probably put two 100amp 240v breakers in there. One wired to the subpanel on the right and one wired to the SHP2 on the left. 4 wires each breaker. Red-hot, black-hot, white-neutral, and green-ground. Neutrals and grounds seperated in each sub panel.
Pretty simple stuff actually.
For mine I have the center as my main. The right subpanel is wired from the main. The SHP2 is wired from the subpanel. Main reason I did it this way atm is I could power all 3 panels from the 50a generator inlet plug. I also have other systems so having it wired this way allows me to have multiple layers of backup options. Also cause I test out systems😄

Thanks for watching! This system is not a grid tie system but the making of a grid tie system is in the works. Also this panel/system is designed to be installed after the main panel. Best way at the moment with this system is move over as much of the house or circuits you can to the smart panel and use solar to keep you off grid. Thats my plan at least.🤘
if the batteries weren't so Non-Taj-Ma-Haul sized... "Get in my belly" I would so use this... I've been trying to source a smart panel for 2 years now. I do have the Leviton LP320-MB 30 sitting NIB because when you remotely shut down a circuit, you have to be present to turn it back on... Although it would need to handle at least the 12kWatt/hrs I'm engineered to run, but ideally 24kWatt/hrs which is the next step...

I have 10kwh Solar Panel System With Enphase IQ8 Micro inverts so I can run off grid when qrid is down and sun is shining. Is there a way to use 77 KWh EV battery in my EV Vehicle to Home for long duration power outage with this Unit and one battery. I see the EV battery as a wasted resource just sitting there.

If you had a large solar array than a 15 amp max PV input wouldn't go very far. The first part of the video goes into the inverter and with 450 volt max input whereby a 400 watt panel providing ~40 volts per panel. After 11 panel you are in trouble. If you went with parallel for part of the array than you would be over the 15 amp max in short order. 100 amp max AC @ 120 Volts output doesn't go far in today homes.
I thought this new "ULTRA" (they should have picked a completely different name) had two PV inputs (one for lower volts and one for higher)? I think the higher one has 450V capacity and can't imagine the limitation of 15a for that one????
Per ecoflow it's 15amp for both mppt controllers. 1600w on one just like the pro up to 150v, and 4000w on the other up to 450v. That's 5600w on 1 inverter.
I could easily put together an array to max that out. Then triple that for 3 inverters?!?! 15k setup!!!
Infinitely more expensive than a DIY component setup for sure, but it's far from useless and should be plenty of power for most households during a blackout...

Smart Home Panel 2 is not like the previous Smart Home Panel. It cannot individually turn on/off a circuit. It’s either all gird or all battery. Of course you can still manually switch on/off the breakers.

Thank you and 1000% Appreciate that! Yes I got it all for free. My only requirment was to make a video in my own style. Most of my videos are the same for the most part on systems like this. Try to show what it can or cant do. I always try to power my house. My only complaint at the moment is the HV PV voltage rating of 450v. I would recommend raising it to 500v (which I did allready when I met them at CES the other day). Reason for the increase is I have 2 arrays on my roof. Each array has 12 panels. If I wire 12 panels in series, im right at or slightly over 450v. In winter time or colder temps, panels will over produce and go over that 450v easy so you would need to wire 11 panels in series. I also think most people would have arrays of 12 panels vs 11. Again, its still early but so far thats it.
Well, let's say I don't have the grid.I have to get 2 of those to run.All my major appliances plus my one twenty and might become short and I have to watch what I use just to still have power and hope there's sun every single day And I'll use that as my grid.
Because that's all I have. But I know, just 2 those units. I will be lacking on power cause it only gives 14000 something rather power and 13200 is my major loads. And for how much 120th I need more than that involved. It's just for 120. Well, not more than 14000 but more than 2000. So I'd be better off if I get three of them and use one of them just as one twenty and that would give me enough power and use the other two as one twenty two forty was just two forty actually and I'd be set. Except when we get to cloudy weather for a couple weeks at a time then maybe I have a little bit of problem. My other problem is I get about $7200 and medical bills every year.
And I'm not on medical assistance. I actually haven't church. But you gotta pay out so much before they cut in. So they're preparing a fraction of that. And I.

Did I hear correctly that you can only power the home panel with either grid or solar but not both at the same time? I mean I know it’s not grid tied so no net metering or backfired scenarios, but just want to verify that you can not power some loads in the panel from battery and some from grid?
NICE and thanks for watching. You CAN power loads from battery and grid at the same time. You can set certain circuits to be on battery and others to be on grid all at the same time. You can take the whole panel off-grid as well. Its pretty awesome!
I guess ecoflow must have sent out the free ULTRA to all the UA-camrs since they are all pimping their stuff out since all the typical "reviewer" channels are showing what ----- the ULTRA. I, like many others, have had nothing but support issues with this ecoflow. They simply refuse to support their products and good luck speaking to a human for support. Just be aware when you are entering bias into your reviews (the company is sending you things for free and you have to say good things vs. doing a true unbiased review and can say what you want. At that points he company basically owns the narrative.
Not only here, but one many other UA-cam channels you can here the same almost prescripted story by Ecoflow. Some tell the story in there house, there office or at there parents in law. But each time the same freaking fantastic story on the unit with its many many many options. I get a little Eco- overflowed.

My issue is that most of the UA-camrs do a great job. however, when they get free stuff (like a $5k ULTRA), they are beholden to ecoflow for the positive narrative vs. an unbiased review. It's hard to take any of the reviews serious when they are sponsored since we already know the outcome.

@@JWTX I don't totally disagree, but as someone that lives in a hurricane prone area if you have solar panels on top of your house more than likely your insurance company is going to drop you or you're going to pay a few thousand extra in insurance premiums. I also use a combustion generator because we're usually out of power for a week. There's exceptions though.

I would not solely rely on a gas generator as my backup during a natural disaster. A week is a decent amount of time without power. What happens if you run out of gas?
@@JohnSmith-wt3mw if you live in a hurricane prone area or any other type of natural disaster area you always make sure you keep 50 gallon barrels of gas around. You can't run a battery generator 24 hours a day. I'm less limited with a generator because I can pull gas from vehicles and boats.
I also want to add that something like this you can use all year round. If you have solar then again, all year round. Im 100% not saying to get rid of a good ole gas or diesel generator as I have one myself. You could use the genny to recharge the battery so you could continue to run your emergency circuits and not run the genny 24/7. Can cut the genny usage down a TON.
