I truly think this is one of most beautiful R&B songs ever written.
100% agree. Prince B is in my top ten greatest artists of all time.
without a doubt
@@distantnative2478agreed
Amen! It's not a sung hip-hop song 😂
...and it makes me super nostalgic, it reminds me of the movie "Boomerang" and the 90s 😢
One of the best songs ever made!! I'm still rocking it in 2024!!!❤❤
I'm 42 and I honestly feeling like this is one of the greatest and well sung songs of my lifetime!!!
This is a song you listen to lying in your bed with the lights out staring at the ceiling thinking about your life and good times and good loves.
I was 15 when this song came out. It remains one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's a song to crank up loud and slow dance in the dark
Prince Be, the lead singer, became ill and eventually passed. They had great music.
RIP Prince be. He was truly a artist. ❤❤
This song gives me chills every time i hear it
Sadness, cold blooded and cruel of love victim
That’s funny cause also one of the best songs ever made is Chills by Fatty Koo
All the kids that listened to this song on their walkman heard that bass and had a physical reaction
Well I did.
Most underrated band of all time to me. I'm a techno/new age junkie, PM Dawn were their own genre and still are one of my top 5 favorite groups ever. Everyone should check out their full albums, they have many songs that are just as good , or better than, any hit they played on the radio.
My wife and I danced to this back in our college days and it has since always been a special song for us. Puts a tear in my eye just listening to it almost 30 years later.
That's amazing
That Boomerang Soundtrack is a classic.
Oh my God finally I have been crying out for this one!😭😭😂😂 Prince Be the lead singer died but his bro Eternal still doing his bit, glad you did this reaction video man, thank you🙏🏾 Oh and it's from the movie 'Boomerang' soundtrack 😁
I’ve so loved this so long!
U can feel the sadness, cold blooded, cruel and revenge inside the lyric
Always make me chill
This song was a top 3 hit on billboard during the 90s and was on the Boomerang Soundtrack.People really liked this song.
Boomerang….☺️
Top 3?...it was number 1 for 16 weeks...
I love how you yougins are discovering the incredible music from my past. The 90s were truly an incredible time for rap hip/hop and r&b.
PM Dawn's - Paper Doll!
My favourite song of theirs.
The movie soundtrack this was on - Boomerang - was amazing. It also had "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men. That song was number one for like a whole year. Pretty sure more people owned the soundtrack than watched move XD
The Boomerang and New Jack City soundtracks were just a few of great ensembles of the 90's.
I wore that cassette tape out in my first car
One of the best soundtracks ever. Top 10
Oh my Lord! PM dawn.
Set adrift on memory bliss, I'd die without you & looking through patient eyes were played constantly back in the day.
Good songs! Good times!!
These were the days.
PM Dawn so underrated
PM Dawn had some great songs (and samples) from back in the day. This might be my favorite.
I love this group. Their music is poetry. Beautiful. ❤❤❤
This music made me want to fall in love. Bring back the ballads!!!
One of the most beautiful songs of all time
"Looking Through Patient Eyes" is another killer song from them. Give it a shot.
Oh man....PM Dawn.😍set a drift on memory bliss is one of.my all Time faves!
Ah such a GREAT song!! Takes me back to high school. I know you will love this 😎
Me too!! Memories😍
I watched a docu on PM Dawn, their disappearance wasn't due to their lack of talent but because at that time in the 90's music was leaning into the trend of the Gangsta rap and labels/studios wanted what was hot, causing PM Dawn to get lost in the shuffle... Gangsta Rap was becoming such a beast at that era even Conscious Rap was being shelved and forgotten... docu was on youtube
What documentary?? I must have missed that! But would love to find it ❤️
Di minute mix’s “personal issues”didn’t help either,RIP DJ minute mix!
Plus the big guy died ..
@@dickfitswell3437 he sure did
Love PM Dawn. So soulful. Gorgeous music. Love this song so much.
This been on repeat for me in 2024, timeless classic ❤
Such a beautiful song 🎵 😍 ❤️
Great album!!! They are brothers and this album has some great songs on it....Sadly the lead singer...believe his name was Prince has passed, but his brother thinking his name was Eternal is still alive....Great memories...
pm dawn looking through patient eyes
The early 90's had Exceptional SOPHISTI-POP happening! It was a delicious time of Cocktails and Lounges
Its a classic from them. The lead singer passed but. I love tis record
Brings to mind another beautiful song. Kiss of Life, by Sade. Oh, the 90s.
High school all over again.
Love this
Sad that so many people didn't get the chance to grow up listening to PM dawn
Attrell Stephen Cordes, Jr. (May 15, 1970-June 17, 2016), also known by the stage name Prince Be, was an American rapper, musician, singer and record producer. Cordes was the lead vocalist of the hip hop group P.M. Dawn, which he formed in 1988 with his brother, Jarrett Cordes, also known by DJ Minutemix.Cordes, as the frontman and lyricist for P.M. Dawn, became known for blending rap with singing, as well as ethereal beats and aspects of mysticism and crypto-Christian imagery, to his songs. In 2016, The New York Times called both Cordes and P.M. Dawn "both underappreciated and quietly influential."
Boomerang is a perfect movie and PM Dawn's artistry is a gift from God🙏
I always loved this song.
"Downtown Venus" was another great PM Dawn song!
Beautiful song 🎵 ❤️
My all-time fav song!
Love PM Dawn. Been listening to them since they first came out. They never really blew up because they never really fit into any traditional genre. They disappeared after the 90's but the main reason they haven't done anything recently is because Prince B (lead vocals) passed away.
I loved this song then, and love it more now 👍
This song always has me wanting to cry it pulls on my heart
A song from the film boomerang 🪃 👌
I'm soo glad you're back. Was getting worried about you. I 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜this song since it came out.
Hi again! Any word?
@@elysehfm8797 no, unfortunately nothing😔
@@ldybozz, I don't even know why I asked. It's only been a day. But I forgot to ask when I commented here. I will when I get in early again.
@@elysehfm8797 no worries🙂
"Funkin' for Jamaica" by Tom Browne is a great song, too, and has a great video!
31 yrs later still a jam!
Honestly my 2nd favorite song of all time. It's timeless
What's your 1st favorite song?
I absolutely loved this song ever since it was released, I have it on my playlist entitled Soft Side, that I still listen to often at night especially when I have trouble falling asleep and this hits the spot every time. So Good to see you again JayveeTV your videos give me so much joy and I agree with you on almost every video we have the same taste so much it's crazy. God Bless you Good Sir.
Real early 90s memories here. Kind of forgotten about. But got played like crazy in late 92.
Beautiful right I loved it from day one ❤❤❤❤❤ 🎉🎉🎉🎉 music was so beautiful back then….. very smooth
i havnt heard this in ages. such a good tune. Thanks man.
What happened to the singer of P.M. Dawn?
Attrell Cordes, best known as Prince Be of the '90s hip-hop group P.M. Dawn, died Friday in New Jersey. He was 46. Prince Be, who had long suffered from diabetes, died of renal kidney disease, according to People. Attrell Cordes and his brother Jarrett (a.k.a. DJ Minutemix) formed P.M. Dawn in 1988.
15 years or so i complety forgot about this song. masterfull.
That was the song early 90s... Memories bro.... 😊
Great choice to react.
I don't know if people realise how much Prince B influenced music even today.
PM Dawn was for the kids of the 80s n 90s who went with hardcore rap.
RiP 🙏
My favorite song 🎵
I loved this song!
Oh, this gives me goosebumps!!! I loved this band, The brother/lead singer passed away from complications of diabetes (I believe type 1 that he had since childhood). Very sad, so much talent. I didn't realize it was as recent as it was but I think he had to step down due to his health issues. The entire The Bliss Album is great!
HEY J! HOPE YOU'RE WELL!
Bought this cd when it came out and still have the cd.
Thanks for doing this one Jay
Omg I forgot this amazing song! Thanks!
Their other one is called Looking Through Patient Eyes. It might be my favorite 👍
YES!!!!!
This is one of PM Dawn's ballads.
I love this song great voices sounded smooth pure
Have had them in my cd collection for a long time. Every now and then I go and listen to it, espeon a long drive. I wonder what happened to them... their music is really good.
I LOVE this song and I loved seeing your reaction to this. I feel the same way and wish there was more from PM Dawn
One of my favourites 💜✨
Love this song...brings back many memories of that era....its great you've reacted to it and brought it to light again! :)
This is a very Special song to me I’m so glad you’ve discovered this ,great to see you back doing the music reactions we missed it 😁😁
I’ve always been a big fan of their music !!
Love the piano
This song gets so damn emotional…one of the band members passed away.
This song is pure sextacy, so underrated
the lead singer sadly suffered a stroke that paralyzed the left side of his body in 2005, but he pushed onward.. sadly he died in 2016 of kidney disease related to complications w/ diabetes.. however, as for their “success”, they never really got much chart coverage after the mid 90s..
one of my all time favorite song. ever. beautiful.
Loved PM Dawn back in the day!
I was in high school when this song came out. I had it on single cassette I believe it was part of the soundtrack for the movie Boomerang
Desde 1992 a mis 13 años hasta la fecha amare mucho está canción 😢❤🕊️🙏🎵🇦🇷🧉🌌😭
Bc so much in pop culture is cyclical, from fashion to music, I’m always excited to see how past styles will be brought back and reinvented. We’ve seen the rise of vapor wave bring back 80’s new wave synth, which is super legit, but I’d love to see the modern version of this kind of music. I include Qtip and Digable Planets, that jazzy, smooth music. It’s not just the sound & vibe, but the socially conscious messaging. Some of my fav newer music has elements drawn from older music, but reinvigorated.
"Faith In You" is a great PM Dawn song.
I think the movie in the background is "Boomerang" starring Eddie Murphy and many popular 80s actors.
Great great song. RIP Prince B...
PM Dawn is one of (if not the most) underrated bands in the history of music. I know most think of them as hip-hop, but I think they were more in line with the "New Jack" era. The lead singer Atrell Cordes (Prince Be.) and his brother Jarret (DJ Minutemix) made up the duo PM Dawn. They were really big on the college circuit, but didn't have a huge following in mainstream. Atrell is no longer with us. He passed in June of '16. There is a cousin who's working hard to keep the name alive, but there's really been nothing since the Album 'Jesus Wept' dropped in '98.
Sorry for rambling on, but I've been a fan of their music for 30 years now. If you want to give something else a listen. They have a song that was a duet with Boy George called "More Than Likely" These two songs hold the #1 and #3 spots for my all time 10 favorite songs.
Absolutely beautiful ❤
One of my favorite songs. ❤ from the Boomerang movie soundtrack. Lead guy died. RIP. Try Set Adrift On Memory Bliss. Fire.
I had this on cassette! Wow now kids are rating this tune! Pm dawn was ahead of his time like neyo was when he first come out, respect!
Agree, Boomerang had a banging soundtrack !
Patient eyes another fantastical song by these beautiful humans!
Throwback romantic perfection....
Oh how it brings back memories from high school 🥰🥰🥰 Laying in bed with headphones connected to a discman 😂😂
This is definitely a classic
One of my top favorites from them! 👍👍👍 If you think that's a great song from them, then you're sure to love the lead singing with Boy George "More Than Likely". AWESOME SONG!!!!! Official video is great..
An episode of unsung that explains what happened. It's a sad story
Prince 'B'....R.I.P.
Woooooo, THIS is SMOOTH! Sending love to you and yours from Orlando Florida
