Who doesn't love the Bee Gees? I grew up listening to them. Long before disco and Bee Gee free weekends on the radio . Their before disco ..is epic music. Fanny be Tender . To Love Somebody. Check them out prior to disco .
There's a theory that their harmonies are so unique because they're brothers, so their voices have a similarity that makes them blend perfectly. Whatever the reason, their harmonies are otherwordly.
Barry Gibb ( Tallest) is still alive and producing amazing music. He is 75 this year. He was recently inducted into the Country Hall of Fame! He has written over 1000 songs that we all know and many that are sung by Dione Warwick, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand and much more.
I grew up listening to the Bee Geez & Motown. A lot of groups did harmony back them. They were at the top of the charts forever. They started out on TV in Australia, with their dad managing them. I love that you’re examining that era of music. Thx❤
To me, this is one of the absolute best songs of the past 50 years. It's the perfect combination of so many genres, an R&B/soul power ballad with an unforgettable and inspired melody, a category the Bee Gees owned all to themselves. The vocals are delivered with such effortless confidence, not to mention the best falsettos in the business. A classic among classics.
This song came out the year we got married. I’m 72 years old, I must have heard this song a gazillion times, but I still got goosebumps when the music started. Not much music does that to me. But the songs from them certainly do! Their music never gets old to me.
@@TexasRose50 Thats very good Are you 2 still together ? @ heodore ritola, yes, next month we will celebrate our 46th anniversary. I was living in Oklahoma and he in Texas. I met him in my home town when he was on a pre separation leave from the navy. We corresponded through snail mail and phone calls for 4 months. He came to get me and took me to Galveston. 3 weeks later we were married. He had stayed with my mom and I for 2 weeks in Oklahoma. Out of the 5 months we knew each other, we had been in the same place for only 5 weeks. For me it was love at first sight. I knew he was the one. 3 other guys had asked me to marry them, but I knew they weren’t the ones. I was 26 before I found my prince. Have a great day!
In a small beach town, Redcliffe Queensland they have a walkway dedicated to them and brass statue .. video screens playing there music 24/7 they grew up here .. originally from England .. migrated as babies.. ironically they made it big in England. Love love love them ❤ oh and you guys too 🌹
Just hearing the B- Gees makes you wanna HOLD the person you LOVE even closer. WOW, this sure is one of my FAVORITES exclusively OLD SCHOOL! They're all related by the way I believe as BROTHERS and the world 🌍 was a BETTER place with them in it. IT was the 70's and everyone was cool with one another ❣️ and all white men had Long hair and all Black 🖤 men had AFRO'S, at least that's how I remember it as a kid growing up.. Beautiful Time 🥰
They are one of the best and most talented groups of all time. Brothers who wrote so many songs for themselves and other super stars. Only one left now.

I'm 51 years old...born in the best year...1970...the era of disco 😁I love the Bee Gee's. Not too many other groups can come close to them. Barry is the only one left now. Their harmony is remarkable. They're most definitely one of my favorite groups! Young folks, this is REAL music!!
This is one of their songs without the falsetto going on so pure voices and harmonies. And no autotune...🙂the brothers Gibb...they ruled disco and adjusted with every industry music change. Beautiful voices.
I grew up listening to these guys! The Bee Gees we're a group of iconic brothers. Barry's falsetto is spot on! Check out the Saturday fever soundtrack if you want to hear great music. 🎵🎵
I grew up with this great group. Most people are only familiar with their disco music. Love their early music especially 60's-70's. Barry has a great falsetto voice. Some of their early hits were "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody", "Holiday", "Massachusetts", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "Words", "The Singer Sang His Song", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "Lonely Days", "I Started A Joke", "Melody Fair", "First of May", "Give Your Best", "Lamplight" etc.
Dagmar, all wonderful suggestions for Jovaughn! He has reacted to several songs on your list. Check out all his older Bee Gees reactions. I'd really love for him to react to "Really and Sincerely" (a Robin lead) from their 1971 Melbourne concert. Pretty please, Jovaughn? ❤
I've got one of their LPs which I still play from time to time. Also have a tape which I recorded more of their songs on, to play in the car (showing my age there). They were so unique and talented.
BeeGees we’re a force to be reckoned with… those of us ‘of a certain age’ have enjoyed their music for 50+ yrs. Their songwriting and musical skills are amazing.. and their harmonizing is most likely bc they’re brothers who’ve sung together since they were children! Thanks for appreciating their skills!
❤❤❤Bee Gees! They have that uncanny ability to make me feel at ease and at home listening to them. High voices yes but they are amazing. Proud to be British 🇬🇧 RIP to Robin and Maurice 🌈🙏🏻
@@annabanana16465 doesn't make them Aussies. They only spent 9 years there. Their formative years up until 8 in relation to the twins and 11 in relation to Barry were spent within the British Isles. That's why they never lost their English (Manchester) accents. None of them gave up their British citizenships.
Don't know how u were able to choose what song to introduce the Bee Gees to your friend, for everything they sang, WAS GOLDEN! One thing was for sure though, no matter what song you chose, he would be SURE TO LOVE! NO GROUP IN ALL THE WORLD, QUITE LIKE THE BEE GEES!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Wow! It's been a long time since you have done Bee Gees. They are magic, and this song is lovely. In various interviews the brothers have said this is one of their most finely crafted. They seemed to act like they were it's guardians. There was a dust up in the courts when someone claimed they used his melody for this beauty. Can you even imagine? This is from their (and Blue Weaver's) hearts. Thanks.
The Bee Gees were one of the best harmony groups around and what made them so special is the fact that they were related. I love this song so much. ❤❤. Their voices are to together it almost sounds like one voice. This song has everything ... voice, music, disco sound, instruments and slow relaxing.
Definitely one of the best Bee Gees songs, showing off their incredible harmonies. If you are stepping through the decades, I think you must show him Hocus Pocus by Focus.
This was one of their songs that Robin was most proud of. Robin was usually pretty dispassionate and rarely showed his emotions in public, but when they initially lost a law suit by a Chicago songwriter claiming they stole it from him, Robin was furious. Six notes similar, but other than that, no similarities in the two songs. The judge overturned the jury verdict and they got their song back. Robin requested that it be played at his funeral, and it was, while they were bringing the casket from the hearse into the chapel.
I love the Bee Gees and have since I heard their first record on the radio when they released it. There's a theory that their harmonies are so unique because they're brothers, so their voices have a similarity that makes them blend perfectly. Whatever the reason, their harmonies are otherwordly.
I’ve heard family voices blend together better
Makes sense. Might explain why the Jackson's and the Osmonds were so good too
REMINDER:Autotune had not been invented yet. The harmony and SYNCHRONICITY these brothers had, never existed before, and never will again.
