There's a theory that their harmonies are so unique because they're brothers, so their voices have a similarity that makes them blend perfectly. Whatever the reason, their harmonies are otherwordly.
I’ve heard family voices blend together better
Makes sense. Might explain why the Jackson's and the Osmonds were so good too
REMINDER:Autotune had not been invented yet. The harmony and SYNCHRONICITY these brothers had, never existed before, and never will again.
To me, this is one of the absolute best songs of the past 50 years. It's the perfect combination of so many genres, an R&B/soul power ballad with an unforgettable and inspired melody, a category the Bee Gees owned all to themselves. The vocals are delivered with such effortless confidence, not to mention the best falsettos in the business. A classic among classics.
The Bee Gees were so popular in the 70s ITS MIND BLOWING This song came out in 1976
This song came out the year we got married. I’m 72 years old, I must have heard this song a gazillion times, but I still got goosebumps when the music started. Not much music does that to me. But the songs from them certainly do! Their music never gets old to me.
@@TexasRose50 Thats very good Are you 2 still together ? Yes they were very talented and had a lot of fun to their music I remember a friend and i went and seen Saturday night fever in 1977 I just got off work i was working in a cannery in Astoria Oregon didnt go home to shower and had my boots on ,And wanted to see it so bad and was dancing in the isles having a blast to Staying alive lol
@ heodore ritola, yes, next month we will celebrate our 46th anniversary. I was living in Oklahoma and he in Texas. I met him in my home town when he was on a pre separation leave from the navy. We corresponded through snail mail and phone calls for 4 months. He came to get me and took me to Galveston. 3 weeks later we were married. He had stayed with my mom and I for 2 weeks in Oklahoma. Out of the 5 months we knew each other, we had been in the same place for only 5 weeks. For me it was love at first sight. I knew he was the one. 3 other guys had asked me to marry them, but I knew they weren’t the ones. I was 26 before I found my prince. Have a great day!
@@TexasRose50 O Ok You as well
Barry Gibb ( Tallest) is still alive and producing amazing music. He is 75 this year. He was recently inducted into the Country Hall of Fame! He has written over 1000 songs that we all know and many that are sung by Dione Warwick, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand and much more.
"We're living in a world of fools, breaking us down, when they all should let us be" could be said of today's times!
I believe in you. ✌
It's tight harmonizing because they are brothers 💙💜💙
I was born in 1998 (I'm 24). To me, this is one of the most beautiful love songs of the 20th century.
I grew up listening to the Bee Geez & Motown. A lot of groups did harmony back them. They were at the top of the charts forever. They started out on TV in Australia, with their dad managing them. I love that you’re examining that era of music. Thx❤
Who doesn't love the Bee Gees? I grew up listening to them. Long before disco and Bee Gee free weekends on the radio . Their before disco ..is epic music. Fanny be Tender . To Love Somebody. Check them out prior to disco .
You're spot on Jay, Bee Gees are simply in a class of their own. Effortless perfection.
Just hearing the B- Gees makes you wanna HOLD the person you LOVE even closer. WOW, this sure is one of my FAVORITES exclusively OLD SCHOOL! They're all related by the way I believe as BROTHERS and the world 🌍 was a BETTER place with them in it. IT was the 70's and everyone was cool with one another ❣️ and all white men had Long hair and all Black 🖤 men had AFRO'S, at least that's how I remember it as a kid growing up.. Beautiful Time 🥰
👏♥️💔😔Andy the youngest passed on...he was the GOAT,of the Bee Gees,just solo....R.I.P,dear Andy.🌹🌅🌄🌈🎖️🏆💯
This was one of their songs that Robin was most proud of. Robin was usually pretty dispassionate and rarely showed his emotions in public, but when they initially lost a law suit by a Chicago songwriter claiming they stole it from him, Robin was furious. Six notes similar, but other than that, no similarities in the two songs. The judge overturned the jury verdict and they got their song back. Robin requested that it be played at his funeral, and it was, while they were bringing the casket from the hearse into the chapel.
Thank you that interesting bit of info...
Bee Gees bro is real disco! Forget about others - these are the real inventors of disco!
Bee Gees were the BEST!!! Jay, your Bee Gee knowledge is so impressive!
The younger generation like Jays friend Trevor needs to experience what real music is all about.
i am 65 yrs old and their songs take me back to my disco days, what a time to be alive! love your reaction!
I think whoever you are and whatever you usually listen to, romantic music appeals to people on some level.
They are brothers with very similar voices which is why their harmony is so tight. They are excellent!
I remember sitting in my dad’s nova on a rainy day in 1978, listening to this song
Disco was the greatest era. It brought people together. There was hope.
Your face shows your deep appreciation for the marvelous Bee Gees. ❤
I'm 51 years old...born in the best year...1970...the era of disco 😁I love the Bee Gee's. Not too many other groups can come close to them. Barry is the only one left now. Their harmony is remarkable. They're most definitely one of my favorite groups! Young folks, this is REAL music!!
The Bee Gees music is timeless. One of the best groups ever.
I refuse to believe anyone alive today has not listened to the Bee Gees. Impossible, unless they live in a bubble.
They are one of the best and most talented groups of all time. Brothers who wrote so many songs for themselves and other super stars. Only one left now.
The Bee Gees wrote and produced some of the best and long lasting songs of the modern age. Love them!
JayveeTV reactions might be my favorite reactions! When you reacted to Vanessa William, I fell off my chair laughing. You were as transfixed by her beauty along with the rest of us.
I grew up listening to them on the radio. But because I was never a huge disco fan, I never fully appreciated their talent until UA-cam came along. They were incredible.
Goodness! So beautiful and romantic.
Yes. And this is WITHOUT autotune - the blend of their voices ❤❤❤
This is one of their songs without the falsetto going on so pure voices and harmonies. And no autotune...🙂the brothers Gibb...they ruled disco and adjusted with every industry music change. Beautiful voices.
They did not rule disco.
@@maggynewtown3500 Well, they were pretty close but whatever. 🤪
@@maggynewtown3500 They definitely ruled white disco.
He is slowly hooked. Perfect. A subtle smile told the story.
Love you boys ❤️ great lads 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I’ve never heard this song and it 200% sounds like crystallized 70’s.
In a small beach town, Redcliffe Queensland they have a walkway dedicated to them and brass statue .. video screens playing there music 24/7 they grew up here .. originally from England .. migrated as babies.. ironically they made it big in England. Love love love them ❤ oh and you guys too 🌹
So bittersweet to hear this. Only Barry is left, the other brothers are gone. Life is fleeting!
BeeGees we’re a force to be reckoned with… those of us ‘of a certain age’ have enjoyed their music for 50+ yrs. Their songwriting and musical skills are amazing.. and their harmonizing is most likely bc they’re brothers who’ve sung together since they were children! Thanks for appreciating their skills!
Gotta watch Saturday Night Fever to really get the feel of this song which is played during the final scene.
Takes me back to the SWEET 70s
@@theodoreritola7641 time machine please.
I grew up listening to these guys! The Bee Gees we're a group of iconic brothers. Barry's falsetto is spot on! Check out the Saturday fever soundtrack if you want to hear great music. 🎵🎵
Best songwriters ever in my opinion. Their song Massachusetts is my favorite.
This song is absolute perfection. A true once in a lifetime masterpiece 🤩
Too Much Heaven is the first Bee Gees song reacted to. If you get a chance, play that one for him.
Absolutely!
Great choice! 🥰👌
See younger people enjoying the real good music, gives hope. Not the all new generation is rubbish. I was wrong.
I am with you, I fall in love with this group every time I hear them, I get goose bumps.
My Brother-in-law lived around the block from The Bee Gees in Redcliffe, just outside Brisbane. They were good friends and they were in a band together. They played gigs at w local pub, even though they weren't legally allowed to drink at the time. Though that didn't stop, them. My Sister and Brother-in-law still live in his childhood home. Anyway a few years ago Barry visited the area, recognised him and said "Hello and called him by name". They had a nice chat. My Brother-in-law told me that one time when The Bee Gees visited the area they decided to show off a bit. They turned up at that pub in separate limousines.
Is my favorite's song of The Bee Gees since 1978!!
Beautiful song!!!.
Greetings for you from URUGUAY!
They WERE the disco vibe.
The Bee Gees have MANY memorable songs. 🎶 Their harmony is THE GOLD standard.
The groupa that consist of siblings often have very tight harmonies.
Jovaughn's smile from the very first lyrics. 😏
Huge Fan of the BGees. EVERYTHING they made is GOLD 🥇
Brothers or any family members have natural harmony.
I’ll always stop for the Beegees. Angelic voices. No other comes close. Yet. I pray they go back to pure talent.
My mum went to school in Redcliffe, Queensland with the twins. She said they weren't the brightest of kids but as it turned out, they sure could write fantastic songs.
An absolute classic. This version cannot be bettered by anybody.😁👍📀❤️
I can see them not interested and bored in classroom. But not being bright? 😝
Wow. Great info. Cant imagine any of them not being bright, but yes bored out of their minds with mundane schoolwork. I can see that. Disinterest is often confused with lack of in telligence. I think they were aliens from the planet of music.
They were not dumb. The twins had talents above many musicians, and lay people. I agree boredom can play a factor in many behaviors They were far from being stupid. I wish I had their talents. Also, Robin was a history buff. He could tell you anything. Mo stated that in an interview. Mo called Robin a "genuis."
@@kori2287 A lot like my own schooling, not really engaged with classes unless it was art classes.
@@LizzieRD Totally agree, disinterest does not equate to lack of talent. My schooling was the same unless it related to art classes.
This was my late husband and myself favorite group. I still tear up when I hear them.
Can't go past this music ..it's beautiful and timeless .Nobody does it like the Bee Gee's .
My favourite BeeGees song, along with You win again, because they don’t do a crazy falsetto in either.
Anything by the BeeGees is wonderful. Also their youngest brother Andy was also a great singer. Try listening to Andy's song Love is Thicker than Water.
Don't know how u were able to choose what song to introduce the Bee Gees to your friend, for everything they sang, WAS GOLDEN! One thing was for sure though, no matter what song you chose, he would be SURE TO LOVE! NO GROUP IN ALL THE WORLD, QUITE LIKE THE BEE GEES!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The Bee Gees for whom the Bell tolls, just rocks, everyone’s world I don’t know why everybody doesn’t know it but you do! Sending love to you and yours from Orlando, Florida, Heather, and Rick
❤❤❤Bee Gees! They have that uncanny ability to make me feel at ease and at home listening to them. High voices yes but they are amazing. Proud to be British 🇬🇧
RIP to Robin and Maurice 🌈🙏🏻
Don't forget Andy
@@georgethehands of course RIP Andy 🌈🙏🏻
Brits 🇬🇧 all the way. Australians claim them as theirs but they are Brits.
@@teviottilehurst they grew up here on my street in Sydney
@@annabanana16465 doesn't make them Aussies. They only spent 9 years there. Their formative years up until 8 in relation to the twins and 11 in relation to Barry were spent within the British Isles. That's why they never lost their English (Manchester) accents. None of them gave up their British citizenships.
They came to my daughter's primary school because that's where they had gone when they lived here. They were a cool group too, Mate
You are such a great guy Jayvee. I really like how you bring the music of our era (I am a grandma from the 70's) to the younger generation in such a positive way. I see so much hapiness on your face.
Listen to this drunk you won’t regret it!!
This is wat we were listening to on a date Friday night or Saturday night , making sure you were dressed right and play the records to get a message through to your significant other. And the Bee Gees did it better than anyone. This is from Saturday Night Fever movie. I wish I can go back to being 14 when this was brand new. I lived my teenage years. Lol the Bee Gees posters were all over my room!
Great love song! A beautiful classic from Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
Jay,. Thank you for going back to the Bee gees. 🥰
I love that you get the bee gees. To me, they can't be compared.
This is my absolute favorite song by them. Love it! 😁🥰
Thank You Jay, What a beautiful classic! Your reactions are Priceless!❤❤❤
One of my favorite groups had a crush on Barry Gibb and on his younger brother Andy Gibb still listen to their music today
I dated a guy cause he looked like Andy! Wasted to marry Andy or Barry 😁
This also came from an era where they didn’t have all the digital enhancements they have today - great vocals.
Sheer delight! No other song in many decades comes any where close!
Jayvee you were the first reactor I ever saw and I still just absolutely love your channel! You have such a genuine spirit of joy and happiness- I grew up with this music and yet I learn from you! Keep on doing what you do!!
Yeah, you are back with more Bee Gees. Great job.
The smile says it all! Pure perfection 🥰
I grew up with this great group. Most people are only familiar with their disco music. Love their early music especially 60's-70's. Barry has a great falsetto voice. Some of their early hits were "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody", "Holiday", "Massachusetts", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "Words", "The Singer Sang His Song", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "Lonely Days", "I Started A Joke", "Melody Fair", "First of May", "Give Your Best", "Lamplight" etc.
Great fanfull list of songs there! 🎶
Dagmar, all wonderful suggestions for Jovaughn! He has reacted to several songs on your list. Check out all his older Bee Gees reactions. I'd really love for him to react to "Really and Sincerely" (a Robin lead) from their 1971 Melbourne concert. Pretty please, Jovaughn? ❤
They are anything but Psychedelic. That’s not Bee Gees, try Love, Chamber Brothers, Jefferson Airplane, The Dead for that San Fran sound.
I agree.
I've got one of their LPs which I still play from time to time. Also have a tape which I recorded more of their songs on, to play in the car (showing my age there). They were so unique and talented.
classic song. My parents played these songs for me, being only in my 40's since I was young. I love it.
I love it's placement when it comes up in the movie Saturday Night Fever. Word is it was the only unused track left so they put it there. To me it's cinema perfection. I still get goosebumps.
Agreed 🌟
I couldn't agree more!
Jaycee… you’re my favourite one to watch to react because I can see your an old soul my your smile and appreciation of the music… I’m an 80’s teen so don’t dis’ my generation like some do!!!! You’re great!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Bee Gees.. one of Gods gifts to mankind!!
This is my favorite of their songs. So beautiful.
My daughter's boyfriend loves tame impala, they even go to his concerts. I have never listened to him but I think I will.
Never thought I would hear anyone call the Bee Gees 'psychedelic'..... The times have officially changed.
I love this song so much. ❤❤. Their voices are to together it almost sounds like one voice. This song has everything ... voice, music, disco sound, instruments and slow relaxing.
Bee Gees and The Jackson Five, two sibling groups that have had some of the best harmonies and melodies.
Don’t forget The Beach Boys.
Wow! It's been a long time since you have done Bee Gees. They are magic, and this song is lovely. In various interviews the brothers have said this is one of their most finely crafted. They seemed to act like they were it's guardians. There was a dust up in the courts when someone claimed they used his melody for this beauty. Can you even imagine? This is from their (and Blue Weaver's) hearts. Thanks.
The Bee Gees are the GREATEST group to EVER grace the music world.....There will NEVER be ANOTHER group like them.....EVER!!!!
I wish you would go farther back in their storied careers, before the disco era, which, while I like it, it is only the surface of their catalog. "Massachusetts & Gotta get a Message to You" are two of my favorites.
Yay ! So Happy to see you with a Bee Gees video again. Been too long!❤
I basically grew up with this kind of music. I was a kid when I first heard the bee gees from the movie Saturday night fever. And LOVE there music every since.
Great reactions! This group was from Australia; all brothers.
I was 20 when this came out and my Grandmother liked these guys and bought their records, I referred to their music at the time as Nana Rock....
Those were wonderful times for me. Blast from the past.
The best voices in the entire universe. NOONE compares!
I have always loved this song. It’s beautiful. ❤️
I remember perfect Sun filled afternoons just grooving to that music peace love and hippie beads from a 70-year-old hippie in California
This was very mainstream when it came out. It's kind of funny to hear that 50 years later it would be compared to alternative music .. lol!😳🙂
Music is frequencies. When a certain frequency touches the soul it gives you chills.
There very few artists that have multiple songs that love. Bee Gees are just magical.
