Imagine being this Spectator. You get plopped in a bottle, spend lord knows how much time in there, then you get out just to be greeted by the literal og Oathbreaker AND the freaking God of Death who is currently larping as a friendly wraith. I would run too.
i was literally terified of the spectator killing Scratch :(( but the Oathbreaker protected Scratch by challenging the Spectator to a duel, good guy oathbreaker
Everything is perfect about this. The immediate successful compelled duel, Lae' Zel missing AF after stating she surely won't, Withers just casually scribbling away in the background like it's children's matinee and the poor Spectator dying that dramatically, in the middle of the camp like it's staked through with the tree as a trophy.
Imagine if u go open the iron flask in the middle of the Goblin Camp or Githyanki creche.. then turn invisible or cast Sanctuary on yourself.. and watch as the Beast rage havoc.. or cast Darkness and then stand inside it after opening it..
You can actually use the ''Throw'' command and throw the flask to do what you describe. Found that out by trying it recently. And it does, wreck havoc in a battle.
@@MarshallEden I am surprised throwing the flask can work. Since it's an IRON flask which I assume means it dun break when thrown..so unless u uncork it..then throw like a grenade..
@@MarshallEden it sure wreck havoc more than the 3 Orgres with the War Horn, difference is the beast that pops out dun treat you as an ally . It treats all as enemy.
I used it in that one fight in the Underdark with another True Soul you can find and it really helped having someone else for the enemies to focus on and eat their attacks while also dealing good damage
Piece of advice for anyone who might not know. You can toss the flask and itll break, releasing the monster. Good for tossing it somewhere you want it to deal damage with less risk to you immediately.
I don't think it even breaks actually. I threw it in act 2 defending the portal for Halsin and my friend picked it back up after the fight. Not sure if it can be used again though.
at least for you. dunno why but the obeserver decided that the biggest treat was a random chicken in the camp.... then he suffered a death by thousand cuts. at least it took the heat off me for like 3 turns
I grow more attracted to The First Oathbreaker every day. Seriously he's bold, a good mentor and doesn't talk shit and can take care of a threat really easily. Why would anyone try to blow him up to prove how evil they are/steal his armor? Give him more lines in the next update, Larian! Romantic ones preferably but I would love even more insight into his backstory and things to do besides advise me on how to be my own person or take my back my oath (bleah who wants that).
@@Bopperkid you break you paladin's oath. (every paladin subclass has a way that breaks their oath, its typically just choosing the mean choices in dialogues or attacking innocents)
@@Lt.ArloMek I just dropped a Hunger of Hadar and he ended up camping in it for quite a long time. I don't know why he didn't just leave the zone, but he took a full 10 rounds of damage from it, and had hardly anything left to mop up. A lot of his minions were fully murked without a shot fired.
That it was Pepper, Tav's reliance on someone outside the party to become directly involved was a risky roll of the dice, but thanks to the Oathbreakers superior skill and excellent use of the compelled duel spell, they've proven that battle is not a Spectators sport.
I opened my flask in the goblin camp, they killed it and I got all the exp, plus the spectator killed a few goblins along the way. At the end the goblins weren’t even angry at me or anything so it’s a win/win
i have been playing for 180 hours this is my first playthrough I tried to do everything i could, i'm near the end (I thinik, i don't want to spoil anything), but i have never found that iron flask nor have a oathbreaker knight companion, this game blows my mind!!!
You almost certainly came close to the iron flask, but getting it in your inventory requires that you don't follow a quest giver's instructions in Act 1, and keep the item for yourself instead.
@@ThatDevTy It's the Zhentarim quest in Act 1, where you have to rescue the shipment from gnolls. If you get to the point where you see the flask itself you've already failed the quest though, since Zarys told you not to open the package at all (and she'll just attack you if you try to turn in the flask instead of the crate).

In my play trough with friends I had the same idea. I opened the flask near the oathbreaker and the oathbreaker was lucky to go first. He smited the spectator for 250 dmg with a crit instakilling it. 😮

I threw this into the middle of the tiefling party at camp in a multiplayer run because my friend kept pickpocketing and throwing random shit at my character 😂
It's great top throw the flask amongst some enemies from somewhere it won't see/get you ... thins the crowd a lot for you. And you can use the ogres a couple of times for a total of $2500 but don't leave it too long as they won't travel too far or wait too long.... when you reach the limit they turn up in camp demanding their $2500 whether you used them a second time or not.
I didn't have any experience to D&D back when I made this video. I was discovering the rules as I went. Also, I was letting the Oathbreaker do the work.
They get a different aura called Aura of Hate which increases Damage dealt. And a few other things. It's basically a paladin who focuses solely on damage with no chains restricting their actions. Even opens up some dialog options in some conversations.
It'll likely just remain till you change locations for camp and progress into the other other Acts sadly. I'm curious too if you can move the corpse around, but I'm guessing it'll be too heavy and thus you will be unable to put it into the box.
Gotta be LOL when that corpse keeps showing up in other camps. Least this one its outta the way. And bonus concealing the two camp spots not in use anyway.

That’s actually exactly what happened in my playthrough. I released the spectator in camp and it killed scratch. I didn’t realize until much later

It's more fun to use in Moonrise Towers anyway.

I did it near Elminster. Easiest fight of my life.
Elminster is so weak compared to Oathbreaker, I killed him in few turns easily in Shadow cursed lands.

DO NOT bring enemies into the camp, if Scratch dies in the camp he STAYS DEAD
I learned this the hard way in act 3 when I used remove curse after stealing from the Stormshore Tabernacle to try and get the Deva Mace

You have to be a paladin and break your path for the knight. The flask is part of a quest in a cave.
