There are some important things missing which I would like to add: 1) As partners go, in 2v2, to be competitive for average player, you have practicly only 1 option : resto shaman. Ofcourse increadibly dedicated and skillful player can make do perhaps with other people, but for vast majority of the people, resto shaman is the only way to go. The reason for it is pretty simple : Retri doesnt bring big enough CC and on-demand damage (or heals) to do well in 2 dps combos. Also you go out of mana pretty quick, if you arent getting healed. So you want a healer with you. And the othe think a retri lacks big time is slows and cast/heal reduction. Because shamans have basicly 3 slows (totem, shock, even frostband) , purge, interrupt and a fear dispel with tremor totem, shaman healers fills in all the gaps retri have, and also provide WF for boost to damage. Any other healer lack far behind when it comes to playing with retri. 2) Seal of sacrifice , while providing really good damage reduction to your team m8s especially against rogues, ferals and hunters, is the most powerful when it is used as CC breaker. You when you put blessing of sacrifice on your teamm8 before you get sapped, blinded or sheeped, as soon as your teamm8 takes damage, the transfered damage will dispel the sap, blind of sheep on you. 3)Retri paladins are quite weak at the beginning of expension, mostly because they need gear overal, but also because they depend heavily on critting. Critting, beside doing a lot of damage everytime (as your every hit is heavy) also increases your damage by %5 to total of %15 due to talents, but also, as a really dispel prone class as the videos say, critting actually helps your protect your buffs; you see the talent Vengeance, is a magic effect that stacks 3 time on your. So if you keep critting while lets say a mage is spamming Spell Steal on your to remove blessing of freedom, the chances of them stealing BoF drops to %25 from %100. They end up stealing Vengeance stacks which has 0 help to mage over and over. 4) Get ready for a bit of PVP frustration by people in your group, unless you already know the players. The "other" 2 handed plate wearer, arms warrior will be more effective than you while playing much worse, quite often. So people will see or think you suck at it , while you are doing a good job, because a warrior who just is just faceroll will be able to deliver as much as you , until you reach above certain rating level.
@@Nizzo7 that is wotlk. Rogue ret is pretty below average and extemely RnG based in tbc. It may work alright only at last quarter of the expension but even then, it wont win against any team who knows what are they doing. Retri paladins go oom extremely fast in tbc at pvp, unless they are healed.
Love these guides and can’t wait to see the next class/spec. The uptalk has been greatly improved, but it’s still there quite a bit. I personally had to work really hard on this myself so I know the struggle. But overall, great improvement and looking forward to seeing a video with 0% uptalk :)
Two of my favorite things about a Paladin (I play warrior but my brother is Paladin). Blessing of Sacrifice is amazingly clutch when you know the enemy team will try to CC you, quite possibly the best blessing for that reason alone but it also functions as a sort of HoT on the target, siphoning a flat damage amount for EACH source of damage (each DoT, each AA, each everything) so it actually is the best scaling HoT in the game if the pally can take the damage. One thing you didnt mention about how clutch Blessing of Protection can be, it does remove physical effects as you said, and probably one of the BEST things you can remove is Mortal Strike. If timed well you can remove a MS and drop a massive heal on the target for full effect.
Missing some quite major Stuff like Ret reckoning and Sealtwisting for even higher burst damage, with talent combo that make seals have 96% ressistance 2 getting dispelled wich also protects the rest of ur buffs as the dispell will be targeting the Seals and not ur other buffs, but overall Awsome good informasion top teir content
"Almost everything they do can be dispelled" this is what hurt the most, what ever you do you get punishment, you need to replace buff on yourself, or most of the class will dispel that from you or your cc from them. I don't tell ret is bad, but blizzard didn't think how annoying they made stuff for him, in 2007 I remember how low was skill cap of the players so I could outplay a lot of them just from the bubble, but now people improved so much and its hard to play as ret.
Thank you! Usually they use seal of command for RNG WF proc damage and blood for more consistent damage. You also wouldn’t use blood if you were behind because it damages you. To my knowledge SoC and SoB both can proc windfury but since we don’t have TBC classic yet there’s no way to 100% confirm.
@@Mesmurize Yeah I would have loved to but real life takes too much time and these videos take a LOT more to produce than I would like lol. I will continue making content dont worry!

@@forwardsforward8946 Thank you for the support, yes wow classic is on the legion client if I am not mistaken and they added those types of macros to work back in wrath so it will definitely work and you probably will have even more ways to write it.
@@Foretelling Generally speaking you don't have to. At least not until wrath or if you play hunter maybe because they need a lot of macros. There's also addons I believe that add more spaces for you to put abilities/macros but I have never had to use them.
Problem is that ret has literaly 1 or 2 viable combos in 2v2 and if you are playing vs a team who knows what they are doing (ppl have evolved in 17years of wow and know how to play) you will go oom quick and get beat easy.
if any of you coming here thinking about seriously playing and raiding as ret in tbc. Don't do it. You'll regret it because vanilla stigma is still there on rets in tbc and people with make you feel like trash for not doing what paladin is supposed to do according to them - healing. Just play arms, stop overthinking and worrying about million of your utilities. Do damage as damage class.
I doubt it, ret brings so much utility in TBC. They give 3% crit to the whole ret, 2% damage to their group, another blessing, and can refresh judgements. Most raids will want 3 paladins, 1 prot, 1 holy and 1 ret. In fact Arms warriors will be less desired than a ret as they only bring 4% melee damage increase; if people are stacking hunters and warlocks they might skip the DPS warriors entirely.
A midmaxing ret should be pulling nummbers higher then the other melee classes on singeltarget, just Search for blasty's video's pulling almost up2 3k dps on some bosses
