Thank you for another great video - I love your direct, no nonsense approach! :) I noticed you applied this sunscreen on, and around, the skin of your eyes. Did you notice any stinging, irritation or watery eyes?
Thank you for asking: No, I did not experience any irritation, but I usually get on well with most sunscreens that have the newer chemical filters despite my eyes being sensitive due to me wearing contact lenses all day.
I really appreciate the fact that you talk about whether a sunscreen has been tested by third parties or not. It gives confidence to me as a buyer. Thank you so much. 💚
Thank you Doctor Anne for this video. I still struggle to be consistent in using sunscreen everyday because I don’t enjoy the shine or the heavy feeling most sunscreens give (my skin is oily). I would love to know the least shiny looking, but still lightweight sunscreen with no cast you tried and liked.
That is a difficult one - most lightweight ones i have tried are pretty dewy, while the more matte ones often have an inorganic component that makes them lean towards white cast. I'd say this one is pretty natural on my skin, but with oily skin would probably still need powder.
I have tried this and I have mature oily/combo prone skin and I love it! Some like dewy skin and I honestly don’t I guess because ive always been more on oily side, super oily when I younger. I was afraid that this would give my skin shine. It’s almost soothing feeling esp now that it’s still cold where I’m at, it felt slightly tacky for a few minutes but that tackiness disappeared and my skin feels hydrated, small tapping on my skin mid day but skin stayed feeling supple, can’t explain it and totally love. I have also tried Beauty of Joseon and for winter cold in CA, don’t laugh bec it is too cold than normal, I like Skin1004 and continue to use this. I’m guessing in summer I’d be switching back to BOJ, perhaps. Tip: stock up on this they were half off last week and packaging is quite small.
Dr. Anne, it would be great if you could make a video about sunscreens with high PPD. This would be really helpful for those with melasma and hyperpigmentation. ❤
I have sensitive skin and rosacea so I have to be careful with what products I use but I love this one!! It goes on very smoothly and absorbs without any white cast (I have fair/light skin). I’ve used it daily for a few weeks but I haven’t been out in the sun much since being diagnosed with leukemia and malignant melanoma a couple years ago. If I’m going to be outside much, I use a zinc oxide sunscreen with a higher spf. Do you think this sunscreen is enough for daily wear considering that I’ve had melanoma (on my arm)?
That depends on the area you live in, the time of day and the time in total you spend outdoors. And of course what you are doing - I don't rely on this one if I am sweating. For prolonged sweaty activity in the summer outdoors, or beach time or hiking I prefer UVprotective clothing as I can be sure I don't miss a spot and don't have to worry about reapplication.
Thank you for your review Anne! This looks interesting and tempting... I might just buy this to try it out myself and add it to my SPF collection. I too confess that I am obsessed with SPF :D At first I thought this one was an organic/inorganic hybrid because of the white colour when it came out of the pump. Decent hybrid SPF's are so hard to find. I'm still looking for one that will not sensitize my skin, which happened to me with the CeraVe AM SPF30 unfortunately.
@@DoctorAnne I'm still not sure. The active organic filter used are 10% homosalate, 5% Meradimate, 5% Octinoxate, 2% Octocrylene. I'm pretty sure it's not homosalate or Octocrylene because that's in a lot of other sunscreens I've used that did not sensitize. I didn't find anything online regarding Meradimate and sensitization online but I did read that Octinoxate could lead to sensitization so my guess goes to Octinoxate 🤷 I usually tolerate all La Roche Posay sunscreens very well especially from the Anthelios line and they are always formulated without Octinoxate so that kind of confirms my suspicion.
@@isabellavantichel4459 I think the balance: a little, but not too much is what is we all aim for, but what is difficult to achieve. Glass skin would be too much for my personal taste, but then again I have been oily and shiny for all my life.
Hi Dr. Anne! I just discovered your channel and I really like your videos 😊 I just bought this sunscreen. How many pumps would you say are needed just for the face? (I can't wear sunscreen on my neck atm)
Can I use this along with the Korean brand Rovectin lotus water cream? I love that moisturize but need a sunscreen to go on top of it. I have oily acne prone skin. Please get back with me as soon as possible, thank you
I don't know the Rovectin Lotus Water Cream, so I can't say how they'd pair, but you can wear a moisturizer underneath if you feel the need to. I don't think those with oily skin need to though as the sunscreen is quite moisturizing in itself.
That depends on your individual triggers, but it is a sunscreen that uses modern filters with less potential for irrittion, so it might work better than other organic filter sunscreens.
I have been using this one for about 4 months already but I still unsure how to feel about it. I like the application but I've noticed my skin seems to still burn and look darker. does anyone know what could be causing this or if maybe this is just in my head ?
There could be several explanations for this: Maybe you aren't applying enough? Or you sweat a lot and it rubs off quicker than you thought so you need to reapply? Or the product you have is faulty? How much do you have left? Because with application once a day my tube was done within three months and you say it has been four?
My skin is very oily and acne prone...sunscreen causes breakout...should i use this?...if i shouldn’t then please suggest me a good sunscreen for my skin.☺️
Which sunscreen causes you to break out is individual to you, so I am not able to tell you for sure which ones will work on your skin. All I can say is that this should work well on more oily skin types.
Is this similar to beauty of Joseon texture wise ? I m thinking of trying this and that one leaves me white cast if not blended properly or when second time reapplied
Agree with her advise. I use both and I have oily/combo skin. I like this for winter and will probably use BOJ during summer. Although I can still use BOJ now and moisturizer also. This one for me at least is a one step process. It leaves my skin supple. I ❤ it!
Hi Doctor! Thanks for your review! I noticed that there is t-butyl alcohol in the boj and skin1004 sunscreen and I'm not sure if it is a type of denatured alcohol that is bad for the skin. Would love to know your opinion :) Thanks

If you wait a decent amount of time, that shouldn't be an issue with any foundation. The sunscreen in the foundation is usually in low concentrations, so the amount of foundation you use wouldn't be an issue.

Benzene is not added on purpose to sunscreens, so no, there isn't any.
