As doctor passionate about skin care that delivers results and about well aging, I want to help you quickly and efficiently pick a skin care regime that works, by explaining the science behind skin and by sharing quick product reviews.
I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi skincare to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

Have you tried any of the sunscreens mentioned? Do you prefer organic or inorganic filters?
I used Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum and it was good.
@@siamahamed7538 It is my favorite too.
I have used the Airlift plus (Physical SPF 50) I quite like the texture but don't like a bit of white cast, The Chemical one I found a bit dewy, somehow when I apply chemical sunscreen my screen feel a bit of burning.... Does it mean my skin is sensitive to chemical sunscreen?
@@peerawaslwong It probably means your skin is sensitive to one of the ingredients, which could be one of the sunscreen filters. Probably not the whole group though.
This video is very helpful! I’m using the Centella sun serum and love the feel as well as how it reapplies. I’m in the US and don’t have easy access to this line of sunscreens so it’s great to see the comparison of them! Thank you!!
I am glad it was helpful. The Sun Serum is by far the best in my opinion.
Yay I love it when a new video of you pops up, especially about SPF! I have not tried either of these, but Bergamot seems like a great smell. I love it in my Earl grey tea as well 😋 pure inorganic filters feel a bit to heavy for my skin and I'm still trying to find a nice hybrid sunscreen. Alas, I have not found one without an organic filter that does not irritate my skin as I'm terribly sensitive to octinoxate. Currently I'm using a SPF50+ from SVR and Eucerine, alternating between the two brands. They're very gentle organic filters. Still on the look for a nice hybrid one though ☺️ thank you Dr Anne ❤
Another thumbs up for the Hyalu-Cica one. My sensitive skin dislikes most chemical sunscreens, but this one I can actually tolerate quite well. No itching, no eye-sting, no breakouts.
The Bergamot essential oil is not noticeable in the scent sadly - a sunscreen smelling of Earl Grey would be a huge win for me!
@@jordillo777 Thank you for sharing that, it is really helpful. My skin isn't overly sensitive, so I can't really say if a product would work for those sensitive to organic filters.
your reviews are fantastic
Thank you.
Nice video! If I may ask, i have hyperpigmentation, which of these sunscreens can help in lightening my darkspots? I have oily skin 😁
All sunscreens are helpful for targeting hyperpigmentation, but with oily skin I'd say the Hyalu Cica Water Fit one would be best.
Have you watched my video on the Top 10 ingredients to combat hyperpigmentation already? You can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/m0noGcgDkvg/v-deo.html
Did you ever try it now was it for you?? As we literally have the same skin type n condition
@@alwaysalvin3656 Yes, I have a review on it up here: ua-cam.com/video/Khy_rb065Hk/v-deo.html
The 6 pumps you used, is that only for the face area? Because I mean you use both your hands to spread it out, a lot of product will also end up on your hands.
No, 6 pumps is for my face and taken down my neck.
Any thoughts on isitree watery sun gel? I have combo to oily, acne prone...😢❤
I have a video review of that one here: ua-cam.com/video/w5XPhCEl1cM/v-deo.html
Another really helpful video - thanks Dr. Anne! Your video definitely confirmed that of all the Skin1004 sunscreens, the Hyalu-Cica version is the best. BTW, which is YOUR all-time favourite sunscreen?
That depends on the occasion: For everyday use I alternate between Beauty of Joseon and SKIN1004 Hyalu Cica, for outdoors events/ beach I swear by the La Roche Posay UVMune 400.
@@DoctorAnne Good to hear back from you. Actually, I use all those three in exactly the same way as you! :)
@@DoctorAnneI'd originally bought the La Roche Posay UVmune 400 expecting it to be on the matt side, but I was wrong. That's the reason why I only use it in my free time / outdoors activities. I shan't be repurchasing it again because it is too shiny and it gives my face an orangyish tone I dislike...
@@MatMat-qi2rd Oh, have you tried the untinted version? The tinted one doesn't work for me either, but the one without a tint is much better.
@@davidsotir4318 Seems we have a similar taste then.
Hey Doctor, Which one is good for oily acne prone skin with past acne marks ?
I don't really like any of those and would recommend the SKIN1005 Hyalu-Cica one that I reviewed here: ua-cam.com/video/Khy_rb065Hk/v-deo.html
I've been using Sunbum because I'm a Bum who loves ❤️🔥 the Sun ☀ 🤣🤫🤭🤟 I got the spray on and the spf50 lotion but I'm looking for something else because this stuff is shiny and greasy .😢🙈🙉🙊✌️
That sadly is true for a lot of sunscreens, especially the ones you get in the US. I recommend Korean spfs for a more elegant finish.
That's just smashing girl 💥 heck yeah I will get some K spfs.. you always have Amazing advice Thank you luv 🎉 ❤✌️😎💯%
@@foltz-art Let me know how they work for you.
@@DoctorAnne sure thing babe ✌️🍷🌞😎
I have brown skin, specifically light caramel and i have light pigmentation on my face and i have combination skin, i thought of using centella tone up brightening sunscreen but people say it doesn't suit for dark skin. can you please recommend which korean sunscreen is best for me?
I would recommend going for a sunscreen that only uses organic (aka chemical) filters as many of the ones with inorganic filters don't suit dark skin. I can't tell you which one is best though as I haven't even tried a fraction of them. From the ones I have tried, either the Hyalu-Cica one from SKIN1004 or the one from Beauty of Joseon might work well.
@@DoctorAnne thank you 😊 🙏
@@ss-wz6hm You are welcome.
Is it worth it to switch from nontinted to tinted for an indoor person? Nontinted doesn’t protect from visible light so..
That depends on different factors. Like: Did you struggle with hyperpigmentation, so you need to be extra diligent. How far from your light sources are you. Do you wear makeup or other colored cosmetics on your face.
I admit I personally wouldn't worry about that I guess, but I am not an indoor person and usually wear makeup, so it doesn't really apply to me.
Can speak more about alcohol in suncreen is it save or shoukd we avoid only denatured alcohol

@@DoctorAnne thank you
@@kawtaraziz854 You are welcome.
I am brown, anything I can use for my hands. I have very dark hand and regularly get embarrassed for that
Any sunscreen will help with getting a tan on the hands that will deepen the color you naturally have. But there is no reason to be embarrased for it.
