Hi Kelly skin 1004 is actually pronounced skin chun-sa. 1004 is pronounced as “chun sa” in Korean which also happens to mean angel so you’re really saying skin angel 😇
I purchased the SKIN1004 sunscreen last month on a whim even though I couldn’t find any reviews on it. I LOVE it for all the reasons you gave. Trying to find sunscreens that give a more matte/natural finish for oily skin has been so difficult and this product came at the perfect time
Skin1004 is the one that works for my extremely oily skin.. Hydrated but never greasy .. i love the Boj too . But skin1004 just gave me oil free grease free skin.. And i use it with isntree green tea toner..
the isntree was an absolute oil slick on me. i needed 3 oil absorbing sheets just to feel comfortable enough to relax in my own house. i dont even have very oily skin. BOJ not nearly as oily although i dont use moisturizer under sunscreen and it is sometimes a bit too radiant for my taste. it's one of if not my favorite though. recently tried skin aqua super moisture milk and it's fantastic. might beat out BOJ even. very little if any radiance - pretty much just a natural finish but not drying at all
From my experience the following sunscreens are very similar in texture (and smell) Isntree = Goodal Calming (less moisturizing) Round Lab Birch = Beauty of Joseon (less moisturizing) But Goodal has exact same filters as Beauty of Joseon I haven’t tried Skin 1004, will definitely give it a try tho
Oh no I literally just placed an order then find the Skin 1004 review! 😮 I love a natural or matte finish and it’s so hard to find the one I have now is sticky can’t stand that… I just ordered the BOJ and several several others LOL to dip my toe into these new to me sunscreens … the filters sound incredible!!!! I like chemical sunscreens anyways over mineral so VERY excited to add another one to the list of possibilities! Can you make a video about your favorite products w/o hyaluronic acid? I live in AZ and products with hyaluronic acid just suck the moisture out of my skin because there is no water in the air! LOL thanks :)
Kelly, I have a question for you. When a product you are trying irritates you and your skin feels sensitized, what are the products that save you and how long does it take you to return to normal? And then you want to resume your tretinoin, do you slow down or continue with your previous routine as you did before the arousal.
Hi Kelly I tried the BofJ spf after seeing all the hype. Unfortunately on patch testing (as I do with all new products) I developed a rash from it, so it's really not for me. Normally the newer generation filters are better on me (despite having both rosacea and eczema) and although not something my skin tolerates well on an everyday basis, I can usually use them a few days a week (I also use mineral spf's on an incidental sun basis). This one was a firm no from me and my skin isn't keen on a lot of HA, so the Isntree is not something I think would work either (both due to the HA and the older filters used). I haven't really gone back to K beauty spf's after all the issues with the purito spf I used prior to the debacle, but dipped my toe in the water with the BofJ and had to give it away. I have spf's my skin tolerates from both a European chemical spf and some mineral spf's, so I don't really need to keep trying things my skin isn't happy with tbh. I have started to hear positive things about the skin 1004 spf and may try it at some stage, but I have very dry skin and probably need something a bit more emollient. Best wishes.
Your skin sounds EXACTLY like mine! I have tried COUNTLESS sunscreens. They all end up irritating my face and eyes or one over the other. Mineral sunscreens DRY my face out so bad. My face is NOT having any American sunscreens whatsoever. 😭. I'm at total loss and seriously ready to give up. I can't keep wasting money on sunscreen and getting my hopes up. Even Korean and Japanese sunscreens have irritated my face. Rosacea sucks. Dry skin sucks. Sensitive skin sucks. 😭. I totally understand what you're going through.
@@mignonalverson655 Yes they do. The least drying mineral spf's I have tried are: Paula's choice calm spf30 (available in a 15ml mini size to try) Colourscience original spf50 Avene mineral spf50 The most hydrating of all is the skinceuticals mineral spf50 lotion. I hope that helps and I too have had A LOT of trial and error. Under each of them I use my whole skincare routine including moisturiser. I allow that to settle down and then apply the spf. I can’t use any of these without my moisturiser underneath. I find mineral less irritating than chemical but it is drying due to the zinc. I do wear it but my other products compensate for the slight drying effect even these have (despite being the least drying I have tried). It’s so important for rosacea to wear it that l work around it. X
Trying to find another sunscreen bc the cerave one makes me sooooo oily😭 I’m happy it doesn’t break me out but idk I don’t think it rlly helps my oily skin
hi! i was wondering if you've tried the beplain clean ocean moisture sunscreen? i tried it because it's supposedly suitable for sensitive skin. it was good for the first few days but eventually i got itchy red blotches all over my face :/ i've switched to mineral sunscreen ever since but i haven't found one that i really love. i wanted to try out the BOJ sunscreen since most say it's good for sensitive skin but i just realized that the formula is very similar to the beplain one since they're both manufactured by kolmar. do you think it's still worth trying out or should i just stick to mineral? thanks!
Just stick to mineral. Try beplain mineral sunscreen. It's really moisturizing though it takes a bit of time to absorb if you're planning to apply makeup right after.
I have try BoJ sunscreen and it stings about 10 mins after application. I tried focusing on my skin barrier bcs some said it could be bcs of that. After about a month, i tried it again and it still stings, it's not even expired or anything. I'd want to try the isntree one though
Oh no! It's possible one of the sunscreen filters just don't agree with your skin, it helps to keep track of the ones that didn't work and maybe compare to ones that do work for you. It's a process of elimination but can help you figure out what ingredients work or don't work for your skin.
The older generation chemical filters in that SPF can cause sensitivity in the eye area, best to go with mineral or try the new generation chemical filters in those cases.

Even Korean and Japanese sunscreens have irritated my face. Rosacea sucks. Dry skin sucks. Sensitive skin sucks. 😭. I totally understand what you're going through.
@@mignonalverson655 Yes they do. The least drying mineral spf's I have tried are:
Paula's choice calm spf30 (available in a 15ml mini size to try)
Colourscience original spf50
Avene mineral spf50
The most hydrating of all is the skinceuticals mineral spf50 lotion.
Hi Kelly, can you do a review of skin1004 tone up sunscreen too? :)
Yes! I'll be testing that one really soon!
Curious, have you tried the Papa Recipe Bombee Honey sunscreen? I got a sample of it and it is very very nice.
Your shirt is so adorable!! Where from??
Thank you! It's from Madewell a few seasons ago!
Does anyone know how the skin 1004 compares to canmake mermaid uv gel clear?
hi! i was wondering if you've tried the beplain clean ocean moisture sunscreen? i tried it because it's supposedly suitable for sensitive skin. it was good for the first few days but eventually i got itchy red blotches all over my face :/ i've switched to mineral sunscreen ever since but i haven't found one that i really love. i wanted to try out the BOJ sunscreen since most say it's good for sensitive skin but i just realized that the formula is very similar to the beplain one since they're both manufactured by kolmar. do you think it's still worth trying out or should i just stick to mineral? thanks!
Just stick to mineral. Try beplain mineral sunscreen. It's really moisturizing though it takes a bit of time to absorb if you're planning to apply makeup right after.
What skincare do you use under the skin 1004 sunscreen?
Are any of these water resistant??
The temperature of my country is now 40 degrees
I have combo +acne skin
Which sunscreen is better for me?please help me😢
Is the skin1004 sunscreen water resistant?
I have try BoJ sunscreen and it stings about 10 mins after application. I tried focusing on my skin barrier bcs some said it could be bcs of that. After about a month, i tried it again and it still stings, it's not even expired or anything. I'd want to try the isntree one though
Oh no! It's possible one of the sunscreen filters just don't agree with your skin, it helps to keep track of the ones that didn't work and maybe compare to ones that do work for you. It's a process of elimination but can help you figure out what ingredients work or don't work for your skin.
If you have sensitivity around the eyes, do NOT buy the Isntree sunscreen
The older generation chemical filters in that SPF can cause sensitivity in the eye area, best to go with mineral or try the new generation chemical filters in those cases.
@@KellyDriscoll Thanks Kelly!
Does unstable filters mean that they don't work well in terms of blocking the harmful UV rays?
You should do a toner/essence tier list.
What are your thoughts on the skin1004 hyalu cica blue serum?
