i bought the PS% Pro and play F1 games, ACC, Crew Motorfest, GT7. I was questioning myself when purchasing. when it was all said and done, set up and had games installed i must say i am happy with the pr0. i could instantly see the difference. everything just looks sharper, cleaner and faster. my ps5 would start over heating and get really loud. ps5 pro seems to handle the games better as well. i am going to buy PSVR2 on boxing day and see how that goes for GT7
In my opinion If you have to pixel peep or do a side by side it defeats the purpose of upgrading the console. It should be better in first glance or 1st gameplay experience. PS4 was limited by lack of HDR and HDD speeds hence we needed a pro. PS5 does not have any major limitations. The only thing I can imagine is PSVR2 can benefit from it but that depends on how many games get optimized for it.
I totally love my ps5 pro. Huge upgrade on GT7 especially. I had the OG PS5 with the disc drive, and quickly realized that I had to buy the disc drive add on because the drive on the original PS5 doesn’t come off like it does on the slim models, but once I did that and was finally able to play, it was night and day in terms of reflections and such
Hi, Kireth. I'm almost certain PD have done something to increase sharpness in VR. I notice this particularly when reading the dashboard instruments, but also the information in the HUD, particularly NO tearing at all. Overall sharpness has increased, too, IMO. I first noticed this a couple of days ago, but put it down to my imagination. Now, I'm certain. What do you think?
The point is with the Pro you're running the game at 60fps with on track RT at basically a 4K image. This is exactly how Cerny promoted the Pro not having to make those difficult choices to get all the goodness. When the Pro patches are great like this one, Callisto Protocol and Stellar Blade the Pro is definitely worth the upgrade but sadly not all devs are created equal see Jedi Survivor, Silent Hill and Alan Wake 2.
If you go to Argos today a Ps pro is £689. Ps5 Slim is £309 ( disk version £399). Ok, that may change a bit in the run up to xmas but is a pro worth double? 😮
Yes you can see lower mph on the right should be the same speed you cant compare when ps5 your driving faster. and everything turned on the ps5 pro on the right but driving slower alot of time at lower mph on the right screen also different road and weather conditions . When you drive slower its logic that things are sharper. Should be exact the same to make true comparing images. I wont deny that it is a bit sharper but it should be exactly the same for true but well maybe this was as close as you could get. But if we need videos like this we know the difference is too low to change console for.
credit where it’s due, this is a great video man! i’ve always loved GT7 in VR but the recent update for the pro and psvr2 is absolutely amazing. did a 3 lap race around nurburgring 24hr circuit in the rain and at night, absolutely blown my mind last night. to me ..DEFINITELY a good purchase!!
I’m all funned out with Sony rn. So no. The tearing on vr hurts my soul in ways I’ve never expected. Truely a devastating moment for humanity. Rip Harambe. He would know what to do. 😔

Playing the crew on ps5 pro is absolutely amazing. It's a night and day difference. Hey but if you don't feel like the upgrade isn't worth it then don't do it. However high frame rate with way clearer image with ray tracing is a winner.
If the pro can get me a nice clear image @120 FPS vs the my slim does.. idk I'm tempted... I normally run GT7 VR, and I don't mind the VR as of now on my slim. GT7 looks good to me, but.. when in 120 on my LG wide.. it looks like trash until you're bumper to bumper, and then you only notice the smoothness. I have a PC lol I stopped caring about Raytracing since the first year of the 20 sierries card. I just want a less blurry 120 FPS experience when I don't want to slap the psvr2 on my face.
5:35 shows perfectly the benefit with the definition of the tower. Does it Look impressive on a YT Video zoomed in?! Maybe not. But sitting in front of a superlarge screen you clearly have a sharper overall picture. Noticeable and nice. If it is worth it depends on personal factors and the size of the moneybag. The whole difference is a little like this Streaming 4K vs. Blu Ras Disc. Most people are absolutely happy with streaming 4K but sode by side you clearly notice the benefits of uncompressed BRD. And this „you need to be mad“ thing. Playing estimated 1500 hours until Ps6 means for a active gamer 30 pennies per hour. For me it is worth it.
Interesting video. I can notice some differences and in cockpit looks more realistic. PS6 is not coming anytime soon so Pro is not a bad option if not this year then definitely next year with hopefully more updates and more games supporting it.
I'm disappointed w/ the update. Played last night on graphics/ray tracing and it actually looks worse than the base game. There is a lot of shimmering and artifacts on road lines / markers and any kind of thin objects like fences and poles... I'm playing on a LG C3 and it's quite distracting when racing imo.
Bro there's a difference in controller feel You can actually feel the cars better now less input to make the cars move I've noticed that I've noticed even the sound coming out of my TV from the PS5 slim to the PS5 pro is definitely different if not a placebo I've noticed it huge Brothers definitely a huge difference people need to understand that like I said it's not perfect it's going to take time for systems to learn and software updates and game updates cost me it's only going to get better and yes I do notice all that detail while I'm driving it sucks you in it makes the game more realistic
@Kireth Yes I definitely noticed things have gotten better for me I do need to learn how to adjust cars you know different parts I have an understood that yet I need to learn that The license test drive me nuts dude I have some problems with a few of them that I can't get past and I've tried different settings and stuff like that I guess the point where I want to throw my remote through the damn TV it's not fun that way but anyway yes I think I've gotten faster
There's a huge difference like everybody else is saying remember UA-cam compresses so if you could see this in person huge difference if I can see it through this screen watching through UA-cam incredible The only problem is it's not perfect it's going to take time
The issue is a car game easiest to run and your getting 4K/60 on base ps5. So this is the reason 8k and RT on the pro. No one knows what the pro is actually capable off. Base ps5 will always be all devs priority. Sony will be the exception on the 1st party titles, they need to justify your purchase.
the reflections are interesting but if you race you’re more likely in cockpit or even first person view so won’t see much on the bodywork. Nice for replays but they already had RT?
We get it, ps5 pro is better than ps5. The main and only problem with ps5 pro is the price. Here in my country the ps5 pro with disc drive is $972. To put into context, ps5 during its release here, it retail at $561. Almost double the price. How to justify that pricing? It’s crazy
Its up to everyone. In pc world there are also lot of cpus and gpus. Theres no one model for everyone. And there is also no answer if you need to buy pro. Want more fps or rt? Buy it. But og ps5 is already very good console.
The crew motorfest big huge difference with ps5 pro it now eclipses forza horizon now. A damn ubisoft game 😂 trying out gt7 i would say the prioritize performance mode is now improved on the pro from someone that played the base ps5 version in prioritize performance mode on pro its a nice improvement. More fluid, crisper, new graphic assets. The resolution mode is not as fluid. But it really is not needed.
My PC cost me over 10k and I own 3 OG PS5s. My rig is a monster, but it can be a headache to deal with when games aren't properly optimized or the necessary software isn't implemented properly. Have you seen some of the recent releases on PC? Disasterous... The clarity of the Pro is a very nice option to experience when I just want to sit down and play with no hassle.

@DigidiBoom in your experience, that may be true, but that is far from the case for many others. Everyone is free to game as they please, but what I've seen is the PC community suffers from little dick syndrome needing to belittle anything that isn't a PC. My guys and I spent well into the 50k+ region on our rigs and entertainment, and we all still enjoy our Pro consoles. Honestly, anyone rocking a 2k or less rig isn't even brushing the surface on what's possible, though issues still ensue far more on PC than console. To each their own. I've got every option to play at my leisure. It's a nonissue.
In a tunnel, PSSR has a weird noisy ray tracing issue in the reflection on the exterior of cars. NVIDIA has ray reconstruction to fix this issue. Looks like Sony needs to add that feature as well.
Love the ps5 pro looks incredible on my lg oled, to the credit of the slim that also looks great the pro is just a nice step up. Also gt7 is cross gen ps4 game and they scaled it this high imagine what itll look like with gt8 ps5 only.

I think the PS5 Pro doesn't shine much over Slim in racing games, but more suited to open world titles, but nothing significant, however it's still very early days with PSSR tech & optimisation & future patches. By then the PS6 will most likely be out. 😅

You just said you care more about the tracks than you do the graphics. So why am I watching this video from you? To me, the PlayStation 5 pro has so much more depth than the PlayStation 5. It's night and day and that's what 95% of people want is better graphics. And then you go on and say you got to be mad to spend the kind of money. People want different things than you want. How can you say that? You want better tracks? Gamers want better graphics. You're obviously not a true gamer. You're just a racer. Keep on trucking. I will never listen to you again. All the best.
I'm with you. Everyone's gone out of the way to try to prove how horrible the pro is. And i'm hating on people that have a different opinion than them. Have fun gaming not beating it down.
@nevvanclarke9225 I'm probably going to do the same. Especially if it really comes out in 2026 like recent "leaks" say. To only have a Pro and experience this stuff for 2 years, assuming it happens at the end of 2026, because it's almost 2025 already. 😂😂😂

i bought the PS% Pro and play F1 games, ACC, Crew Motorfest, GT7.
If you have PS5 & PC - just wait for Assetto Corsa EVO 💁♂️
In my opinion If you have to pixel peep or do a side by side it defeats the purpose of upgrading the console. It should be better in first glance or 1st gameplay experience. PS4 was limited by lack of HDR and HDD speeds hence we needed a pro. PS5 does not have any major limitations. The only thing I can imagine is PSVR2 can benefit from it but that depends on how many games get optimized for it.
All they added was ray tracing very demanding
Great work man 👍👍👍
0:46 - tou also can see that other cars has reflection on spoilers too!
i bought it the day 1.54 launched because i play on psvr2. the increased framerate makes a HUGE difference.
The price point = scam. This shouldnt even be a discussion.
If you go to Argos today a Ps pro is £689. Ps5 Slim is £309 ( disk version £399).
Ok, that may change a bit in the run up to xmas but is a pro worth double? 😮
Cheers for that fella just ordered my boy the slim for Xmas.
Definitely saved me 60 quid there as I was gonna wait😂😂
Why don't you just use a saved replay and compare both?
Going to be hard to compare gameplay that way chief
Yes you can see lower mph on the right should be the same speed you cant compare when ps5 your driving faster. and everything turned on the ps5 pro on the right but driving slower alot of time at lower mph on the right screen also different road and weather conditions . When you drive slower its logic that things are sharper. Should be exact the same to make true comparing images. I wont deny that it is a bit sharper but it should be exactly the same for true but well maybe this was as close as you could get. But if we need videos like this we know the difference is too low to change console for.
another great video. thanks Kireth
credit where it’s due, this is a great video man!
i’ve always loved GT7 in VR but the recent update for the pro and psvr2 is absolutely amazing.
did a 3 lap race around nurburgring 24hr circuit in the rain and at night, absolutely blown my mind last night.
to me ..DEFINITELY a good purchase!!
Does the PS5 Pro increase the fun factor? That’s all that matters.
I’m all funned out with Sony rn. So no. The tearing on vr hurts my soul in ways I’ve never expected. Truely a devastating moment for humanity. Rip Harambe. He would know what to do. 😔
There’s a def difference on my OLED gt7 looks crazy on the pro
Liar
@@aaronjefferson6809 not liar. Everyone who owns one says the same thing. I'll do the same. It's actually a bigger difference than UA-cam compression lets through. At the end of the day, if you don't believe or don't like what owners are saying, just don't buy one. Easy as that. No need to insult anybody.
Big liar😂
@@aaronjefferson6809nah callin bro a liar cs he doesn’t agree with you is crazy

Well I own a PS5 pro I own 2 of them. One hooked up to an 85 inch Sony 8k OLED and another in my theater room hooked up to a 100 inc Samsung 8k Qled I ummm can definitely see a difference and I enjoy playing on the pro more than my PS5 base consoles and my seirs x, s.
Playing the crew on ps5 pro is absolutely amazing. It's a night and day difference. Hey but if you don't feel like the upgrade isn't worth it then don't do it. However high frame rate with way clearer image with ray tracing is a winner.
No, it's not worth buying. Don't let anyone fool you into wasting your money on this.
Shut it.
I already bought it
@Kireth I'm talking about the normal people, not you, lol. You're a content creator :)
Hows it a waste?
If the pro can get me a nice clear image @120 FPS vs the my slim does.. idk I'm tempted...
I normally run GT7 VR, and I don't mind the VR as of now on my slim. GT7 looks good to me, but.. when in 120 on my LG wide.. it looks like trash until you're bumper to bumper, and then you only notice the smoothness.
I have a PC lol I stopped caring about Raytracing since the first year of the 20 sierries card.
I just want a less blurry 120 FPS experience when I don't want to slap the psvr2 on my face.
i mean the game is great on base ps5
Is 120hz on or off?
I respect your honesty and more respect for calling out digital foundry. New subscriber
Thanks!
5:35 shows perfectly the benefit with the definition of the tower. Does it
Look impressive on a YT Video zoomed in?!
That smoke thing maybe higher humidity ??
Interesting video. I can notice some differences and in cockpit looks more realistic. PS6 is not coming anytime soon so Pro is not a bad option if not this year then definitely next year with hopefully more updates and more games supporting it.
This!
Why did you turn off the ray tracing on he original PS5?
I'm disappointed w/ the update. Played last night on graphics/ray tracing and it actually looks worse than the base game. There is a lot of shimmering and artifacts on road lines / markers and any kind of thin objects like fences and poles... I'm playing on a LG C3 and it's quite distracting when racing imo.
Did you recalibrate your TV for the pro or leave it the same settings as your PS5
Turn off PSSR
@@lordspalse0062 I wound up doing that. Isn't one of the main selling points of the pro the PSSR feature?
@@fred420 I'm sure it will improve over time but it shouldn't be shoved down the throat of gamers in this early stage.
Bro did you get faster?
@Kireth Yes I definitely noticed things have gotten better for me I do need to learn how to adjust cars you know different parts I have an understood that yet I need to learn that The license test drive me nuts dude I have some problems with a few of them that I can't get past and I've tried different settings and stuff like that I guess the point where I want to throw my remote through the damn TV it's not fun that way but anyway yes I think I've gotten faster
There's a huge difference like everybody else is saying remember UA-cam compresses so if you could see this in person huge difference if I can see it through this screen watching through UA-cam incredible The only problem is it's not perfect it's going to take time
This is encoded with the upgraded VP9 encoder 🙌🙌🙌
And why aren't they showing the base model next to the pro? Because it's to hard to tell the difference.
Wym?
The issue is a car game easiest to run and your getting 4K/60 on base ps5. So this is the reason 8k and RT on the pro. No one knows what the pro is actually capable off. Base ps5 will always be all devs priority. Sony will be the exception on the 1st party titles, they need to justify your purchase.
Pro is excellent. In VR it’s epic af
Starting to think they just ADD more detail to the "updated" games for the "pro". Not worth the 'upgrade'.
I'll keep my current ps5 and will look forward to enjoy those added features on a pro when the ps6 arrives
Why does your PS5 have that smokey look to it? Mine doesn't look anything like that.
How does it look in the in-car view
PlayStation 5 PRO on OLED TV look alsome, so much colours its really amazing on some games.. think UA-cam cant show that difference
the reflections are interesting but if you race you’re more likely in cockpit or even first person view so won’t see much on the bodywork.
It’s crazy
@kireth you played with 120hz on or off? In 60hz it has less shimmering
aliasing is one of the main reasons why i would switch - for flat and VR2....too bad it seems to struggle on this point.
Pro looks great on my TCL QM8! But what video settings are everyone else using? I have 120hz, PSSR On, Frame-rate Priority. Was told to turn PSSR Off.
Its up to everyone. In pc world there are also lot of cpus and gpus. Theres no one model for everyone. And there is also no answer if you need to buy pro. Want more fps or rt? Buy it. But og ps5 is already very good console.
The best comparison I have seen on youtube at this present moment
Thanks!
But it really is not needed.
how about for VR?
It looks incredible so far on my Bravia A95K at 120hz. Havent put on my VR yet.
Hahahah really
Yes, incredible. Clean as a whistle, liquid. My leathers reflection back in the dials. How's Forza? Lmao.
there is a menu says 8k support. i have old sony 88" 8k tv. z8h or so. will ps5pro show something in 8k?😮
@kireth - any comments on the fps? In this comparison was the 120 Hz option disabled?
I just increase the tv settings in colour and contrast to make a ps5 look like a ps5 pro. Cheaper way.
2:44 I prefer the look from the normal ps5 way more here, it looks more realistic, the pro one looks almost comic style....
Hmmm interesting
We have to remember that as the console gets older the more improvements they going to make.
Has Polyphony Digital provided an official enhanced update for Gran Turismo 7 for PS5 Pro?
in fairness, pisser is still in its infancy....... lets give it a chance, its a step in the right direction though you have to agree
RT will be incredible on PS8.
I just feel we won't know until new games come out ,,there is only so much they can do with older games
More PS5 PRO VR Reprojection analysis please. Saw your video yesterday.
What is ray tracing and pssr?
The rt is great. Don't settle for less. Get the best.
if you dont have no pc, and no console, and lots of money- can get one. otherwise -100% no. :D In my opinion ..
Valid opinion 👍👍
My PC cost me over 10k and I own 3 OG PS5s. My rig is a monster, but it can be a headache to deal with when games aren't properly optimized or the necessary software isn't implemented properly. Have you seen some of the recent releases on PC? Disasterous... The clarity of the Pro is a very nice option to experience when I just want to sit down and play with no hassle.
@@crymsonenigma since I build my ''monster'' pc last year, I barely using the ps5 :D and when I do its ONLY for the gt7 on vr.. so them graphics means NOTHING to me as im limited by the physical issues of the psvr2 ;) And if you try playing some proper game on console its laggy and brings other issues.. like I know ppl had it with LEGO FORTNITE ! :D xboxes were shutting down or not even loading the games..something similar was with ps5 too.. meanwhile on pc im running it on highest settings with no troubles :D there are NO GAMES to play on console even more than it is on pc ! since most of the game being released for the pc its hard to expect it to be otherwise. the only thing good for the console is a controller, BUT you can use that one on the pc now as well ! :D
So for the psvr2 only ps5 pro makes it less blurry? Is this true or can the new ipdate fix blurryness on ps5 base?
if you need to point out every little thing just to justify 700 quid then no it isnt worth it cos the diffrence is very minimal and deffinetly not worth iy
but what about FRAME RATE?!
I think the PS5 Pro doesn't shine much over Slim in racing games, but more suited to open world titles, but nothing significant, however it's still very early days with PSSR tech & optimisation & future patches. By then the PS6 will most likely be out. 😅
If we could se pimax crystal lets say, on PS, then Pro is probably would worth it..
For anyone with the Pro on this weeks daily race C do you still get the pop in of the fences and the trees in the distance when you are on the mulsanne straight?? If you don’t I’m in 🙏🙏
i remember that ps4 pro was noticably beter to use after ps4 😊 but i think ill skip ps5pro 😑 but its 100% would be noticably beter to use it next 4 years... people are buying videocards that cost 3000$, so why not to buy ps5pro if you playing ps and have 700€$
I got the pro upgrade just for psvr2
I dont think better image quality will help reduce lap time
120fps can make you faster though 🙃 ua-cam.com/video/FzPlXuxEflM/v-deo.htmlsi=0rnV6OwOH6PHO-X3
See i wanted to wait to buy ps5 wanted to see WHT the pro was going to offer for the price they are asking I'm not Happy about paying that
Just picked up a ps5 slim for 425 USD for my daughter. Pro just not worth almost double the price of that. I got a ps5 myself and buying a nice quality OLED will do more for your gaming experience that upgrading to a pro.
@KenKaniff-dw4jw I'm just gonna get a ps5 slim now. I can get prob get vr headset second hand and still pay less than the price of the pro
You just said you care more about the tracks than you do the graphics. So why am I watching this video from you? To me, the PlayStation 5 pro has so much more depth than the PlayStation
No one's hating on the console. We actually hate the greed behind it's pricing and the lack of disc drive.
I don't play from behind ...so it makes it mute point 👉
There's some nice lighting improvements in the cockpit. He should have shown that with that Tokyo Expressway footage at the end.
@joescivic I think it's a nice upgrade , but I think I ll wait for the PS6..
@nevvanclarke9225 I'm probably going to do the same. Especially if it really comes out in 2026 like recent "leaks" say. To only have a Pro and experience this stuff for 2 years, assuming it happens at the end of 2026, because it's almost 2025 already. 😂😂😂
