I just sold my 49'' LG Nanocell 866 for 400 euros. Bought it back in 2020 around 650 euros with 5 year store guaranty. This tv was unbelieavably good despite the well known backlight bleeding in dark scenes, great for gaming too with 120 HZ and VRR with HDMI 2.1 compatibility. The reason I sold it, was to finally do myself the big oled upgrade and I couldn't decide between LG C4 and Samsung S90D , for weeks. Couldn't stand the low brightness and green tint of C4 , neither did I feel like going for a Samsung TV since I couldn't find the QD-panel version in my country. Made the right choice and went deep in my pockets and got a 55'' LG G4 on Black Friday. Best desicion I've ever made , regarding TV's. Even though it's pricey and had to spend 1600 euros + 5 year store guaranty included, the result is sick. Only thing I'm disappointed at , is the sound. Nanocell 866 has way more stronger volume in sound and it's bass sound , you could feel it . G4's sound is respectfully very mid and almost insulting, but apart from that , best gaming TV I have ever seen in almost every aspect.
@Troy-McClure81 Guess I got lucky then 😆. Nanocell was a great choice for mid tier LED tvs back then and recorded videos when both were playing the same UA-cam videos. I have to say that even though G4 is god tier in picture quality , I was more impressed with how great the Nanocell still looks .
@superunknown2812 I had the pleasure of putting them play the same videos for side by side comparison and I have to say that the gap was not that big . Not to take anything from the G4 , it has one of the best picture qualities you could ever have in a tv, it's just that 866 was and still is great in every aspect with better sound as well.
I always go for the best picture quality cuz the soundbar or a stereo will fix the sound. So every time I look at reviews on the TV I always skip the audio

Have a 65 inch G4 in the living room. I use it for ps5 and 2nd monitor for controller gaming on a 4070ti super PC. Don't hesitate. Just buy it and be confident you will be happy. Sun shining? Who cares. Frame drops causing hitching? Who cares? Played space marines 2 in 4k max settings with balanced upscaling at 80-90 and was life changing. Will never ever not own OLED for gaming.
I bought the sony bravia 7 on a great sale a few months ago and its been really good for me, it has great brightness and good blacks and color. Only criticism i could give it is viewing angle depending on your situation (wich isnt a problem for me as i always sit dead on) and sometimes some slight blooming around some bright objects in a dark scene or area, even though i almost never notice it unless im looking for it. I highly recommend it if you want that high brightness, gaming features, and good blacks without paying a fortune compared to other higher end tvs or oleds.
Regarding the C4 recommendation, I thought that I had seen in several reviews that this particular tv has some weird issue where its dramatically dimmer when in gaming mode. Was that fixed in a software update? It seemed to be strange because it was an issue exclusive to the C4, where no other LG oleds seemed to have the issue.
I've been gaming (PS5) on the C4 for almost two weeks now and have not encountered a game where the image is too dim (played Apex, Rocket League, The Last of Us, GT7, Returnal and GoW Ragnarok). The tv comes with a lot of features turned off (dynamic tone mapping, hdmi deep color, expression enhancer, etc). It looks dim on some movie scenes but I've only messed a bit with gaming settings. One flaw I noticed quickly was the sluggish settings menu and game optimizer menu, but I got a good deal on it at Costco so not complaining. I can say with confidence that you will be very pleased with the image quality regardless of which you choose (C4 or S90D).
Rtings said that when game optimizer is on there is noticeable dimming and I watched a few side by side comparisons that really highlight how strangely dim it gets compared to other TVs when it’s game mode is on. I’m sure it doesn’t look terrible but it’s a problem with the C4 since even the cheaper B4 from LG does not have this issue. If I was a buyer I would get a B4 or another brand entirely because of this issue.
@@DKprojects9 They must have fixed it with an update because it's really bright. I've even been using it in dark room mode a lot. Upgraded from a Samsung Qled and sincerely, unless you're placing it almost outdoors or near direct sunlight, brightness is not an issue. The s90d and the c4 are very similar in terms of image quality, that's why I bought the C4 (it was the better deal at the time).
I've been using the LG CX 48" as a gaming monitor for a few years and it has been fantastic. No burn-in or image retention so far. I also purchased the Samsung 77" S90C for my bedroom TV and it is just an amazing TV all around. You can't go wrong with either lines.
The eARC port features depend on your setup. If you connect your devices to a modern AVR, then the TV's eARC port should have all the modern features. If you have an old AVR or a sound bar, then it is better to connect your devices directly to the TV, and a 2.0 eARC port will suffice for the audio.
Im an up and coming Kick streamer looking to upgrade my setup, would the S90D work for streaming mostly console games like Elden ring, dark souls, demon souls etc? Trying to do some research this time before I just impulse buy something thats not optimal for me.
@Gamerfied_nINJA That is just out and out BS. Consoles will live on. Mostly because not everyone is a hardcore gamer that needs those extra FPS and they are fraction of the price of an upper tier PC rig.
Gonna be ordering a U7N this week. I'm on a tight budget and I'm afraid of the burn in risk on oleds so the U7N seems like a great choice, and you can't beat that quality for $477(at the time this comment was posted). I've always heard negatives about hisense so it's a relief to see it mentioned on so many "best tvs" lists.
i realy want to buy oled screen for pc gaming please tell me one of the best. for pc gaming please reply me i am realy confused of buring issues and green tinth etc
Great review! I would also add the Sony OLED Bravia tvs up there, gives just the right balance with the Sony PS5, that crisp natural look, not too bright, not too colorful, just ON POINT!
Got a 65" Samsung S90D few days ago and playing my PS5 on it is outstanding, especially compared to my old TV. Chose it over the LG C4 because of the QD-OLED panel that Samsung has. It was worth every penny.
Just got a 77 LG C3 brand new on sale from best buy for $1500! I was so happy to add another oled to the house until I started hooking up my consoles to it. I have had a 65inch C1 and a 55inch B7 and never experienced the issues I am now! Getting constant pop ups even after setting the menu to correct options. Google these issues and you will see for yourself. Turn off "audio pass through" pop up? "[Sony] connection is automatically enabled. Magic Remote is ready to use for the device."
I bought a QM7 for PS5/Series X console gaming and it's been great so far. For 1080p and below, those get connected to my Panasonic plasma because nothing can beat the 60hz motion on that beast.
I find you leaning toward Oled more than MiniLed (which is fair because they're better) , I guess at least I hoped for Bravia 9 to be up there in the list.
My wife bought me and my son a Hisense 85 QD7 and it's awesome. So I bought another one for are bedroom 65 inch and they are both 144 Hz. Both were on sale.
I have a QN94C and cant recommend it for gaming: - very slow backlight reaction which results in color-shifting in dark enviroments (Division 2, Diablo 4) - bad VRR implementation with XBOX Series X (flickering) Image quality is excelent though - no matter what source.
Caleb last year you recommended the Samsung S95c. Absolutely amazing especially , dark rooms, and for my ps5 , ps5 pro and my series x ! Still most likely gonna upgrade my bedroom tv so I might go With the s90 d or c if I can find one ! Thanks for the advice!
tbh the S90D is a much better choice than the C4 for gaming. Dolby Vision is irrelevant, there are no actual native mastered DV games besides Halo Infinite. C4 dims in sdr game mode. Plus gaming can take advantage of QD oled more than anything. S90D is also better than the S95D since the one connect box has a history of being finicky with high bandwidth signals.
Guarantee for Oled TV’s are hopeless? They say 5 years against burn in….thats if only you watch no more than 3 hours per day viewing time. I am disabled & the telly is my only comfort, my Oled had burn in within 6 months & guarantee was useless as they told me my viewing time broke their guidelines as they can tell the hours watched. So be very careful when buying a TV & the hours you watch? If you have the telly on all day stick to an LED.
Broke the guidelines for watching too many hours?? That is the biggest piece of bs I have ever heard. As long as you are within the year limit it should not matter. But yea im considering to buy a mini led instead of an oled for this exact same reason..
@ mini led will still have burn in! Watch 12 hours telly everyday & within 3 to 6 months you will detect burn in. Then try & get them to fix it with the guarantee they have given you! They will tell you that you have used more than their policy for fair watching hours. All manufacturers say 3 hours a day is acceptable. If you don’t believe me go ask people.
Sprung for a G4 77" after waiting for it to come down. The 144hz and everything else sold me. Blown away playing Black Ops 6 and Dead Space Remake on it, so far.. best screen I've ever seen! Now to upgrade my PC video card...
It’s awesome to see Panasonic back in the game, and with a top tier TV as well…they used to mop the floor with Sony until they got their act together. Hopefully these two companies can help push the technology even further!
Curious as I feel it's fine right now and unsure when to "upgrade" but is my lg c1 oled still doing the best job and if so for how long? I think it's still got what I need for my ps5 and series x
I got the TCL QM8 that was recommended from one of your video. I been happy ever since with the tv. I’m surprised you chose QM7 instead of the QM8 this time around
Got my S90D 65inch for $1260 already. I can vouch that games look amazing on this TV, and having 120hz and VRR makes a huge difference in the experience. I had a 60hz tv before this.
@edithboozy1000 It's pretty amazing, especially at it's price point, but if you wanna spend a lot more u can go for G4. Yeah, it's an OLED so the panel is super slim, except for where the connections and stuff are. That also makes it light and thus easier to move. If you buy it from Samsung website, you can pay $35 to have them unpack TV, assemble the stand, and put it where you want. And they will plug it in and make sure it works before they leave.
LG OLED got it in the bag. Not an even argument. Sorry Samsung stans. Went from LG CX to C4 and I can never look at any other TV the same way. Use it for PC gaming, PS5, XSX, Switch, PS3, Xbx 360, PS2 (using HDMI switch). Just enough nits for me too.
Bought the 65 LG G4 from BestBuy, got a faulty unit keep shutting off. I exchanged for a 77 inch S90D and couldn’t be happier. The color pop on QD OLED beats WOLED. Plus 77 inch for 100 bucks cheaper than a 65 inch. The G4 had a little sharper picture on TV shows, every other source they feel equally razor sharp with the S90D having the QD OLED color pop advantage. LG needs to go QO OLED with the G5.
Actually the first thing you want to look for in gaming is the quality of hdr and nits. That has the biggest impact on what you see. All that allm and low latency bs doesn’t do anything for you in most AAA games. Games like god of war, last of us, cyberpunk all look best with a high nit hdr. It’s crazy how it’s not even mentioned really anymore.
I have the lg c3 oled the only downside i have is the game mode seems a little dark most of the time i don't play in game mode just so i can play with a brighter screen. Is there away to fix that?

It's also important to know that you have to select 120Hz mode (at least on the Xbox series x) to use cool gaming features like ALLM or VRR. HGIG is also very important: my current Samsung TV supports it, but doesn't turn off dynamic tone mapping, which is really annoying
Hey Caleb Denison, do you think you can do a review on the new Vizio Elevate SE soundbar. I think the audio sounds great but I'm not too sure if I'm getting much of an ATMOS effect or if I am. The system does not come with a remote, which is huge deal breaker for me as well. Please let me know your thoughts on this and as always thank you for always being transparent on your reviews.
I upgraded from 2016 LG B6 to a Sony A95L and it's the best picture I've ever seen on a TV. I game on a 3070 Laptop and the colors on games like Street Fighter 6, Genshin, and Streets of Rage 4 just pop off the screen
S90D is the best tv for gaming period, you're getting all the benefits of a flagship display at a lower cost. Not to mention it stays vibrant and colorful in game mode. I bought the 77in last sat and everytime I boot up the PS5 PRO im like gahhhdamn.
Hi, since you mentioned the Hisense U7N, here's a question: how to turn off auto HDR on that TV? I'm having an issue when watching films in streaming: basically the picture quality gets blurry in dark scenes ( I thought this might be due to the tv forcing hdr on low quality films (such as those you would watch in streaming films) Also, I've tried switching between Film, dynamic and standard mode but still I'm getting blurry screen in dark scenes. Do you think that this is due to the HDR? Please help me fixing this problem, I spent a lot of money for this TV and this is really disappointing
Not sure if it’s been stated or not. But you’re at least partially incorrect about having to sacrifice one of the HDMI 2.1 ports if you wish to use a soundbar or receiver with ARC or eARC. For instance… I have an OLED Sony Bravia with two HDMI 2.1 ports. I can easily connect a Sony soundbar or receiver with HDMI 2.1 inputs.
Has there been any improvment to OLED eventually getting burn in...? Lg C2 LG OLED has burn in from PS5, we have done the screen refresh/regen to no avail. There is a dark target dot in the middle of screen.
I have a new LG G4. And I've set up my console HDR settings on my PS5 Pro as instructed in the video for Black Ops 6. One final question: should I change DTM to HGIG for this game in my game mode settings? Thanks again!
I have an OLED and watch way to much UA-cam and have never had image retention at all. The only time I have had image retention is through my Xbox One S and my Panasonic UB820's UI home screen. So with those devices I will have my TV off and have the UB820 on and the disc loading before I turn the TV on and the One S I load the game as quickly as I can. My OLED is a 65" LG C9 and have owned it since August 2019 and I am at 16641 hours watched.
I think the best deal this year is the LG B4! It’s the first year of the base oled having vrr and 120hz oh and like Caleb said all 4 ports are 2.1 and the 48 in is 599 at best buy great for a bedroom or dedicated gaming room.

I still have my C9 downstairs, still going strong but its getting replaced next year with a 83in B4 or C4.
Please give us an update how the g4 compares to the C9.
I just ordered a 65 inch LG G4 tv for movie watching and gaming (Xbox s-x) in my bedroom. I have an 85 inch TCL QM8 in the family room and love it.
98 inch
I bought the sony bravia 7 on a great sale a few months ago and its been really good for me, it has great brightness and good blacks and color. Only criticism i could give it is viewing angle depending on your situation (wich isnt a problem for me as i always sit dead on) and sometimes some slight blooming around some bright objects in a dark scene or area, even though i almost never notice it unless im looking for it. I highly recommend it if you want that high brightness, gaming features, and good blacks without paying a fortune compared to other higher end tvs or oleds.
What about 83inch s90d? It's not qd oled. It's woled. Is it still good?
Just got the tcl qm7 65 inch recently to go along with my ps5 pro loving it so far
Bought a new LG 65 inch, it was cheap, $450 and the picture is amazing, gaming on the PS5 is outstanding.
Still rocking the A95L a year later. A true BEAST
Bought the Sony A95L for my ps5 pro . Arriving on Christmas Eve. I can’t wait
I've recently bought a 65 inch lg c3 oled and it's pure perfection 👍
Regarding the C4 recommendation, I thought that I had seen in several reviews that this particular tv has some weird issue where its dramatically dimmer when in gaming mode. Was that fixed in a software update? It seemed to be strange because it was an issue exclusive to the C4, where no other LG oleds seemed to have the issue.
I saw that too
Deal breaker for me
I've been gaming (PS5) on the C4 for almost two weeks now and have not encountered a game where the image is too dim (played Apex, Rocket League, The Last of Us, GT7, Returnal and GoW Ragnarok).
I've got S90c and I love it. It works looks great with PS5.
Recently went to BestBuy to see these TVs in person, have to say Sony Bravia 8 was also another jammed packed TV for gaming, thanks for the vid!
I have a 75" TCL QM8 and it's amazing with my PS5 pro and gaming features
I bought a LG C9 77” a couple of years ago. Im very happy with it! 😊
Most people these days have no idea. They just plug it in and go lol
Im an up and coming Kick streamer looking to upgrade my setup, would the S90D work for streaming mostly console games like Elden ring, dark souls, demon souls etc? Trying to do some research this time before I just impulse buy something thats not optimal for me.
That will work just fine in my opinion
get a pc instead man, consoles is a thing of the past rly
@@Gamerfied_nINJA😂🤡🫵
I stream elden ring all the time on the S9 works perfect
@Gamerfied_nINJA That is just out and out BS. Consoles will live on. Mostly because not everyone is a hardcore gamer that needs those extra FPS and they are fraction of the price of an upper tier PC rig.
Gonna be ordering a U7N this week. I'm on a tight budget and I'm afraid of the burn in risk on oleds so the U7N seems like a great choice, and you can't beat that quality for $477(at the time this comment was posted). I've always heard negatives about hisense so it's a relief to see it mentioned on so many "best tvs" lists.
Burn in isn't really a risk anymore you'd literally have to be trying to do it to get it 😂 and still might not get it.
@blackgoldx3769 Its most definitely still a thing, I'm not trying to replace my tv every 3-4 years because of burn in
@@beefhasslehoff I still have my c1 and g1 and leave my tvs on over night most of the week so maybe Im just lucky
I have a Sony X85J for my PS5. It looks amazing. Highly recommend.
I'm glad that I bought my LG C4 OLED last month when it was on sale. It's an investment; but one that I'm anticipating should last a long time.
i realy want to buy oled screen for pc gaming please tell me one of the best. for pc gaming please reply me i am realy confused of buring issues and green tinth etc
While never mentioned, i totally love my B series 77. It has nearly all of the gaming essentials and the picture is great in a dark room.
Great review! I would also add the Sony OLED Bravia tvs up there, gives just the right balance with the Sony PS5, that crisp natural look, not too bright, not too colorful, just ON POINT!
Just bought Sony A90K for my PS5 Pro, two years old but still 👌🏼
Brother why in tf did you buy a ps5 pro
@upgraded from ps4 pro. relax. it’s not for you. brother.
My sony bravia just looks and feels insane with pro. I'm happy with my setup.
Cloud gaming is definitely the future and awesome on my S95C
Happy with my x90k. 2 years old still looks great. Paired with Sonos sound system Xbox and ps5 look great and sound fantastic
I’ve had an LG C1 for a couple years and it still looks absolutely amazing…..
Still best tv
same with the CX after 4.5 years
yeah, I still am rocking a C1, its still phenomenal HOWEVER, looking to go up to the G4 in the spring.
Same here and I also have S95B...both are great TV's...👊🏼
C3 here. Use it for all my consoles and a 13900KS/4090 rig. Never thought gaming experiences could be so good.
I got the hisense u8n 85. Seams to work really well
How are you liking it ? I'm debating getting a 65 u8 but trying make sure it's going be worth it
I find you leaning toward Oled more than MiniLed (which is fair because they're better) , I guess at least I hoped for Bravia 9 to be up there in the list.
I’ve been keen on the lg C4, but a 55 one. I’ll get one for sure in the upcoming months.
Have no complains about my C1 though. 😬
My wife bought me and my son a Hisense 85 QD7 and it's awesome. So I bought another one for are bedroom 65 inch and they are both 144 Hz. Both were on sale.
I have the S90D but any of these are amazing.
I have a QN94C and cant recommend it for gaming:
- very slow backlight reaction which results in color-shifting in dark enviroments (Division 2, Diablo 4)
- bad VRR implementation with XBOX Series X (flickering)
Image quality is excelent though - no matter what source.
@6:30 Is that a Jamiroquai logo in the background?
Have they fixed LG C4 HDR going dim during HDR gameplay?
My 77inch C1 OLED is absolutely fine
I got the TCL QM8 that was recommended from one of your video. I been happy ever since with the tv. I’m surprised you chose QM7 instead of the QM8 this time around
Got my S90D 65inch for $1260 already. I can vouch that games look amazing on this TV, and having 120hz and VRR makes a huge difference in the experience. I had a 60hz tv before this.
Trying to decide on a tv today Is the s90d amazing? Im worried about how thin it is. Im clumsy
@edithboozy1000
It's pretty amazing, especially at it's price point, but if you wanna spend a lot more u can go for G4.
@@edithboozy1000 not like you're touching it all the time. Pretty much any TV will get damaged if you run into it.
Where did you find it for that price??
@HIBACHI3314
Samsung website, but I'm using my AAA membership to get an extra discount. Otherwise, it would be $1399.
Like this guy, thanks CALEB…just what I needed merry Christmas
Where does the Amazon Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series QLED stacks up? 🤔📺
Why does no one mention the S90C does NOT have QD-OLED in all sizes! I would want that QD-OLED panel instead of the WOLED.
@@franzusgutlus54 only the 77 inch has a qd - oled panel for the S90C
55” or bigger are qd oled for 90c. Could be true for the new 90d too
@@VivaLaFamous In germany, only the 65inch S90D has QD OLED.

I bought LG G4 65 last week and it is best tv I ever had.
I bought it mainly for gaming😊
Actually the first thing you want to look for in gaming is the quality of hdr and nits. That has the biggest impact on what you see. All that allm and low latency bs doesn’t do anything for you in most AAA games. Games like god of war, last of us, cyberpunk all look best with a high nit hdr. It’s crazy how it’s not even mentioned really anymore.
Based on that, what tvs would you go with?
@djnes2k7 id say for most gamers low latency and stuff like that is far more valued then how it looks.

My LGB2 works just fine and doesn't cost a lot. Maybe do a video for people on a budget that don't want to spend a lot.
Got the 65 Hisense U8N after your review and its amazing as my gaming PC screen. Keep up the good work.
I upgraded from 2016 LG B6 to a Sony A95L and it's the best picture I've ever seen on a TV. I game on a 3070 Laptop and the colors on games like Street Fighter 6, Genshin, and Streets of Rage 4 just pop off the screen
I agree about the LG G4 best quality. Btw has anyone ever said that you look like Alan tudyk?
S90D is the best tv for gaming period, you're getting all the benefits of a flagship display at a lower cost. Not to mention it stays vibrant and colorful in game mode. I bought the 77in last sat and everytime I boot up the PS5 PRO im like gahhhdamn.
Torn between a C4 or S90D. Samsung currently offering £100 cashback so leaning towards the S90

Hi, since you mentioned the Hisense U7N, here's a question: how to turn off auto HDR on that TV?
I'm having an issue when watching films in streaming: basically the picture quality gets blurry in dark scenes ( I thought this might be due to the tv forcing hdr on low quality films (such as those you would watch in streaming films)
Also, I've tried switching between Film, dynamic and standard mode but still I'm getting blurry screen in dark scenes.
Do you think that this is due to the HDR? Please help me fixing this problem, I spent a lot of money for this TV and this is really disappointing
S90D is the sweet spot of Value and performance for gaming and all watching in general.
I just brought the lg C4 as my first oled

Are there any good choices that support DisplayPort? Many older GPUs only support high refresh rates via DisplayPort and not HDMI.

Would the Q7 TCL also be a good 55' be a good option for AAA single player games like Ghost of Tsushima?
I have an OLED and watch way to much UA-cam and have never had image retention at all. The only time I have had image retention is through my Xbox One S and my Panasonic UB820's UI home screen. So with those devices I will have my TV off and have the UB820 on and the disc loading before I turn the TV on and the One S I load the game as quickly as I can. My OLED is a 65" LG C9 and have owned it since August 2019 and I am at 16641 hours watched.
I like these kind of informative videos. I think would also be awesome is a 'Used' tv model list. For those not wanting to buy brand new.
Don’t sleep on the lg b4. It loses a little brightness to the c4 but measures better in game mode and saves a few bucks. I’m thrilled with mine
I think the best deal this year is the LG B4! It’s the first year of the base oled having vrr and 120hz oh and like Caleb said all 4 ports are 2.1 and the 48 in is 599 at best buy great for a bedroom or dedicated gaming room.
I went with a Sony A95L because I can't stand webOS and the LG magic remote. Also the remote on the A95L is backlit which is really nice to have.
Lg g4 is absolutely fantastic I love it
