I doubt it'll change as it was a very deliberate choice but it honestly would be great to have the option to lock the camera with the car if one so desired.

I have been using VR for over a year on GT7. Im not a picky person, so for me it was the best way to experience GT7 in the base console. Due to black friday sales, i managed to pick up a slim disc ps5 for $629aud, then took the drive and drive cover off, then traded it in with 4 x games i dont play anymore for a value of $601aud towards a pro. So got a pro with disc drive for basicslly the same price as the digital version of the pro. But regardless, the experience in VR on the pro for me is night and day better with the LOD and clarity. The frame rate with the reproduction setting turned on is a lot smoother also. The issue with the race time is slightly annoying BUT not a deal breaker at all, as you usually only check that when on straights anyway when you're not moving your head. Not aimed at you, but i find a lot of people over sell it or a lot are really picky or conpare it to a PC running a 4080, which the gpu in itself is more expensive than this console. Just my 2c.
Side note, I wouldn't suggest someone go and upgrade to a pro just for it unless they have the spare cash to do so. The experience on base console for me is still amazing, just a little blurrier on text. On pro the text in your peripheral vision is clearer
I think when you put out a console for $700, expectations are going to be high on what it should be able to produce compared to a console almost half the price. I don't think anyone is expecting a 4080 experience, but PSVR2 has an advantage of eye tracking to help it perform better on less power. I am still not convinced that they can't deliver higher frames at a native resolution. Heck, turn down reflections, shadows, and backgrounds and deliver a native 90fps.
