I've been stabbed before, in both lungs, and one thing I can tell you is that it is not a pleasant experience. I got to the hospital in 45 minutes, got stitches, and had to wait about +10 hours before I could get a chest tube insertion. This is how I managed to survive it; as soon as I got stabbed, my heart was beating fast and it felt like something heavy was placed on my chest, I couldn't take deep breaths, I first thought that my heart was beating fast due to adrenaline but after 30 minutes later I realized that something was seriously wrong. I started taking slow and shallow breaths in order to stop my lungs from expanding and when I got to the hospital bed, I spent the night fully awake in an upright position. I did my best to not exert myself as I did not want to put pressure on my chest. This is what worked for me, slow and shallow breaths until I could get a chest tube insertion.

My Tio Juan who's right now living in the streets and is a big alcoholic went through so much in his life, my dad told me this story of my Tio of when he was a kid he was stayed the night at my tios and one night someone came knocking on the door asking for water and that he was very thirsty my Tio Juan being a good man when and grabbed him some water after the man pounded the water my Tio turned around and left his back open and the man started stabbing my Tio repeatedly in the back over and over again he ended up surviving the stab wounds and years later my Tio is still alive with a bunch of stab scars all over his back my Tio Juan is a blessed man to be here still on this earth today
That advice about seatbelts is definitely the best...I walked away from 2 accidents because of the seat belts, a head on collision (before we all had air bags) and more recently a very spectacular freewsy collision - spun around twice and barrel rolled 3x before coming to rest. And only "whiplash" injuries to show for each...wear your seat belts!

It was easy to get stabbed. I tried to break up a fight and, super simple: 1 get poked in the spleen with a(?), and then 2 fall and wake up in the hospital. It literally just feels like being punched then a warm sensation. 7/21.

I survived being shot 6 times and then drove myself to the hospital... I agree with everything they said... I didn’t feel anything when it initially happened and I didn’t have time to panic... the best thing to do is stay calm and analyze the situation... if your in a bunch of pain it may be too late 😓
