"Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it." ~John Adams:
And in Uvalde, TX, the local swat team stood around the school for 40 minutes while the shooter was killing 21 people. The cops said they might get shot at.
Hey, hey… HEY!!! Those cops were not doing nothing! They were very proactive in handcuffing and (reportedly) tazing parents who, after enduring 40-60 minutes of HEARING their children being murdered, desperately tried to go in to save them themselves. Those cops brave service in defending that parking lot shall never be forgotten!!! (Sorry for the snark, but I’ve already thrown up once today from the horror of it all, and it seemed a nice change of pace from crying).
but the cops wherent scared to stop the parents with force from entering the school. Its almost as if the people who need a tragedy with a high death toll to push gun control are the same people who sign the paycheck of the cops and give the order to stand down if something like this happens. Makes you think doesnt it
@@dergunter1237 The flaw in that conspiracy is that the vast majority of Democrats in the government don't want gun control either because they are completely spineless. You may be surprised to hear this but the USA isn't like European countries where there are many parties with different ideologies, some of which are actually progressive or are in service to workers. The choice of party in the US is Right and Center-Right, no matter how hard the Democratic party tries to pretend it's progressive it is ultimately spineless and has no real intention of doing anything that would go against corporate lobbyists (that includes the NRA).

That’s common sense. It’s not just the police doing that. Even at most peoples jobs there will be people who want a promotion or salary rise that will take the credit and lie and put others down
@@vitorfernandes651 I hate to dispute you but from where I sit this is a but of a odd U.S phenomenon. Plus it tends to be really good overall for police relations with the broader public. In this like a lot of other things the U.S has a... special culture.

If they didn't take credit, they would have to explain how they just watched, from behind closed doors, how the killer repeatedly stabbed a man and only got involved after he was overpowered. That would make NYPD look weak and they couldn't have that, could they?

So let me get this straight. US police only shoot unarmed people and black people? Dangerous, knife wielding, maniacs, are not their concern? No wonder they get so much hate.
Michael Bridge nah it's racist to assume cops only shoot blacks. More white people get arrested and shot than black people do 😂😂 stop believing Hollywood movies and social media

@Whychilly Still doesn't change my point. The dude with drugs is way easier to arrest than a dude that has a weapon, think of it as being lazy at your job where you do the minimal amount of work for a paycheck. That's how I see it.
They did protect and serve their own families though. 40 minutes was more than enough time for several officers to retrieve their own kids from the school.
The town has 16000 people, 40% of the city's budget goes to the police Dept, the police have a SWAT team (for such a small town). In the end federal agents were the ones that took him down, not the city's police department. People don't understand this when they say defund the police.

If you notice the patrol cars no longer say to protect and serve. The State Supreme court did rule that it is not the responsibility of the police to protect you.
Gary G No, it said it is not their CONSTITUTIONAL responsibility to protect you. They are individuals and like any otber individual in any other occupation, (outside the military) the individual is not constitutionally required to fulfill the requirements of their job, otherwise, they would be legally unable to quit or retire.
Woody ozone fok that shet their job is to keep civilians safe in every possible setuation if they dont do that so why the fok we are calling them cops?for their SELF DEFENCE to woop our asses?
@Otneimica This didn’t even happen. It was a cartoon. The situation was completely hypothetical. Stfu, you are completely overreacting to this garbage.
@Otneimica I was wrong about how true the cartoon was. I’ll admit that. Although, the story was undoubtedly twisted to fit their political agenda. None of your links prove that the police sat by and watched this happen. In fact, the man’s claim was very far fetched and it being surreal was most likely why charges didn’t go through. He was obviously inspired by the “abolish the police” movement, and to suggest that he couldn’t have lied despite any irrefutable evidence is absolutely ludicrous especially since this all boils down to politics. Also, my “popping out of nowhere” and giving my opinion is very similar to your comment on how most police are actually monsters and assholes who want you to suffer. What can I say? I fought an outrageous comment with another.
@Otneimica but you are right and there is a thing i believe in called free speech so stfu is not the right thing to comment to anyone anywhere. its just absurd to tell a person to stfu and make that comment because they are allowed to speak so why should anyone comment that to another, it is just wrong and im sorry you had to put up with that.
You can thank the conservatives on the bench for that cruel decision. Liberal justices such as John Paul Stevens and Ruth Bader Ginsburg both dissented in that ruling.
I lived in NYC for a decade. Cops being around just made me nervous, not feel safe because who knows what bs justification they could have to harass me but they wouldn't be there to protect me.
My neighbor's house was caught on fire while my elderly neighbor was still inside, my husband and I tried to stop the fire while finding a way inside but then the fire department and cops finally showed up. We told them our neighbor was still inside and stepped back to let the professionals do their job. But they stood and walked around with no sense of urgency! They finally got him out then left him dying in the lawn. He passed away soon after getting to the hospital over an hour later. What's worse is he was a retired firefighter. I wish now my husband and I would have been able to pull him out instead...
On a structure fire scene, firefighters are in charge. Not the police. Once the fire is out, they will move in to investigate. The first thing firefighters will do on scene is do a full "around the house" check of the structure to make sure it's safely accessible. Entrapped personnel in structure fires are a firefighters worst nightmare. The people that "stood and walked around with no sense of urgency" was likely the rapid intervention team and/or command on scene. I don't know the details of your story, but I've never met a firefighter who wouldn't risk their life to save someone elses, but the fact of the matter is if the rescue team becomes entrapped as well, they then become more trapped personnel. Do we move in to save them or save more lives fighting defensive? It's a hard choice command has to make. Firemen die everyday for reasons like this. Sorry for your loss.
the fact that he used to be a fire fighter was insult to injury its like many doctors now get the corona virus after working in the hospital for years and the hospital doesn't pay them any mind
I've seen so many firefighters arrive on site and carefully suit up, lay out hoses and stand around talking about how to put the fire out while the fire rages on and finally burns whatever was on fire down to the ground before they even tried. And then the fire dept canteen pulls up and theres like only two left to fight whatever fire is left. I've also seen the opposite where they arrived fully suited and went crashing through the door before the hoses were set up. It's the individual and his training as well as a willingness to do the job that matters. The equipment is sometimes hard to deploy quickly, better engineering with a goal of rapid deployment is the answer.
Oh yea shit like what happened in Texas is proof this video has aged like fine wine 🍷 only getting more and more accurate every year as messed up as it sounds and while I don't support this the defund the police people ? I understand where there coming from shit like this
I think it should be mentioned that THOSE TWO COPS were not there to protect and serve. I'm an LAPD Officer and I have bean bagged, tazered, taken down, and batoned plenty of would be violent criminals in my seven years. Some cops are cowards but not all of us.
To Collect money and Serve the government Mr Mateo Jones don't act like that, if bad cops exist is because "good cops" are afraid to do anything about it, can't see much good in it.
wait a minute, are you saying that a bad cop is one who writes citations to people who drive like assholes? I mean traffic enforcement is not even a quarter of the things im responsible for throughout the day so...?
Giampaolo Mannucci Who am I serving when I place mentally ill people who are a danger to themselves and others to the hospitals? Or when I come and arrest a boyfriend who just clobbered his girlfriend into a pulp? Just last week I pulled over an actual identifying thief with sanitized checks, credit cards, and everything in his trunk. Who did I serve there? This job is a whole lot more than serving the government my friend
Sounds typical of the US. When I was there a friend of mine tripped and injured a knee in a university. A small crowd gathered around and a university security person came up. The security person came along, asked if my friend needed to be taken to the hospital and brought along a form to be signed that the university offered aid and will not be held liable for the incident in the future.
Their slogan is literally "To Serve and Protect". Someone sue them for false advertisement. I'd rather my taxmoney not be spend on a department whose only job is to seize more of my money
Not doing anything to stop the guy is already ridiculous, but not giving him medical attention, something that doesn't even involve major risk, is downright bullshit. The fact that cops aren't required to actually protect or help someone in need is utterly inhuman.
Armagetron Fasttrack they aren’t required to help but they ARE trained to. What bothers me more is that the moral and sympathetic senses of these “policemen” was so nonexistent that even when trained to help they’d opt not to help a bleeding man most likely because it would mean more paperwork if he died after they helped. It’s another human being that had done nothing perceivably wrong that they were ignoring as he bled out
Armagetron Fasttrack in canada they would have helped ESPECIALLY with medical help. Otherwise theyd be risking being charged with criminal negligence. And just tk be clear out cops are peices of shit too, but not neaely as bad as in the states
in austria we have a law that says something like "you must help an injured person as long you dont put youself at risk of beeing harmed". i thought i heared of something similar about the US.. ?
If they are not legally bound to protect us, then we should not be legally bounded to fund them with tax. Why are we paying them? We can just donate to them when we feel generous!
I'm a firefighter, and we obviously deal with completely different dangers than cops do, but when we sign up for this sorta thing, we understand the dangers behind these jobs. It takes a total coward to take up the job, and then not do what needs to be done in the moment. Being scared and nervous is natural, but that shouldn't stop you from doing the right thing.
If only all law enforcement were actually there to help there fellow humans like it seems you are... Then we wouldn't have had the issue of cowardice here or by the uvalde officers
I never knew if fire fighter ran away from a fire. And there are many stories of firefighters rescuing people from burning buildings. Based on recent events and that ridiculous Supreme Court ruling it’s too bad that I can’t say the same thing about police.

jonathan smith that's the thing arn't the cops meant to be the good guys with the guns, fuck man in nz our cops don't carry guns, we expect them to be able to beat down you average crazy the bad ass way and they do
jonathan smith Having a gun can be of great use to protect oneself, but if the situation in the video were to occur to someone, how would that someone defend him or herself with a gun? One wouldn't pull it out immediately when someone who looks like he or she may do something bad enters the train but displays no visible weapon. But if one tries to defend him or herself after a knife has been drawn by the other person and they are up close to them, then would the person with the gun have enough time to draw it out before the first initial stab? Even if I did have a gun, I wouldn't be able to pull it out if no immediate danger were present and I also don't think that I'll have enough time to draw out my gun if someone were standing face to face with me and draws out a weapon in that moment. My best course of action would be to try to dodge the knife or intercept it and use my martial arts skills to try and neutralize the man or woman and use the appropriate amount of force to do so depending on the severity of the situation. Unless of course the other person draws out a weapon of some sort from a distance and it becomes clear that he/she may do harm to me or someone else, then I'll have enough time to draw out a weapon of mine and will do so. (I do not actually own said weapon but it probably is a good idea to get one).

That taught me three things about the US: 1: The police sucks 2: The Judicial sucks 3: The healthcare sucks Honestly, this was very enraging to watch; I'm glad you made it out ok.
@@bluntcabbage6042 Sorry, I just realized now you wrote me, so I'll respond a bit too late :) Well, that the healthcare sucks in the US is not a new information - you guys (I don't know if you are a US American, but I'll just assume you are) need to pay for everything , even a ride with an ambulance costs when you're lucky several hundred dollars. Surgical operations in the US vary from 3000 to 9000 $ and as far as I know mostly has the private person to pay for themselve. People who need insuline because of diabetes (one package) have to pay up to 500$ for it. Oh, and here is an article regarding the health care of the US: www.google.de/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/mar/13/us-healthcare-costs-causes-drug-prices-salaries So far to the healthcare. Let's go to the police and to the reasons why I said they sucked, not based on this video. I have a little number for you. 2017 the police shot 987 people. As a little comparison: in the same year the police in Germany shot 14 people. Even though the USA has a around three times bigger population, that would be 42 people every year. (978 people killed by the police is btw more than the doubled amount of all people killed in all crimes in Germany in 2017 (405 people)) So the police doesn't just seem to have a problem with shooting a lot of people, but also seem to have a racist problem. www.vox.com/cards/police-brutality-shootings-us/us-police-racism www.snopes.com/fact-check/do-police-kill-more-whites-than-black-people/ While black people are not killes as much as white people seen in comparison with the percentage of ethnic groups in the US, black people are three times as likely to be shot than caucasians. True, that the judicial sucks I mostly based on this video though this alone shows how unfair it can be towards victims like this man against a powerful institution like the police force. Hope you have a good day :)
@@DarkForse You're right, maybe the Judical system sucks not so hard. I was a wee bit angrily by the video and decided upon the content of it and how the tribunal reacted that that was pretty unfair to him. Though I have of course no idea how it would react in other times, as I don't live there and don't read a lot of articles about it :)
This story shows how “on your own” you really are! Never expect the services you pay taxes for to actually help. Help yourself. We’re the no cameras on the train?

It's their job to make money out of "social cases", they crop it for your state, I guess that's understandable. Not their job to risk their lives anymore. But hey, social justice, it meant something during the Middle Age, why not today ? Just let them subway passengers suffocate in their blood, or risk your health and everything you built your career on to save them ? The guy in the video chose his path, so did the policers.
Since this video doesn't reveal the name's of all those people involved, I'll happily do the public service of revealing them for you Terrance Howell and Tamara Taylor are the names of the 2 NYPD officers who cowardly watched Lozito get nearly stabbed to death. Off-Duty NYPD Detective Marcelo Razzo also took credit for saving the day when in reality he didn't do anything to help. Margaret Chan was the Judge who decided to throw out Lozito's case and stated that "The Law Does Not Allow Him [Lozito] to Claim the Cops Failed to Protect Him from Lunatic Killer" As shitty as this story may seem, this would never slide in today's world. Cops are getting held accountable for there actions now more than ever before in history. And with the rise of Social Media and Smart Phones, something like this would be recorded by dozens of people and get posted online for millions to see.
@@herubinoevc737 we all can hope that it would not go this way but the reality might be the same. its so fuking frustrating :( and t y ramon for this comment cause the names should be known!
Unfortunately the situation would likely be the same. Especially if the cops got a halfway decent lawyer who could cite the legal precedent both this case and that other one present, that basically indicates "the police aren't required to take action" or if their lawyer can argue that it would be an "unnecessary risk". Legally speaking, the courts don't care about common sense, particularly if there's precedent they can default to instead of having to make the call themselves.

That was supposed to help kids from being abused and neglected... And have them now kid under the fact that they called 1974 under Walter Mondale look it up I forgot the name you can look it up.... The list goes on dot-dot-dot and revised in 1997 by president Bill Clinton... They do sick things to chill then this is long before pizzagate.. Came into play.. This is when a lady named Senator Nancy Schaefer was constantly getting lettuce from concern parents are children that have been taken away from them.. And over flooded her and she begin to look into some sort of justice for this family... And soon becomes more aware of a situation that she could even have a dream by uncovering facts.. That will really going on that the government wanted to somehow remained it shot because they had their grown people that were politicians are other people that worked in some sort of government type agencies... Justice system... Or even your doctors and lawyers... And they didn't want to expose their names cuz they somehow on a list now what would be called the bad guy list of people that were doing things that probably perhaps they shouldn't be doing at least being accused of it... And this lady saw this... And decided to do her own investigation... Which led her to write the documentary ... The Corrupt Business of Child Protective Services... She finished the documentary in November 16th 2007.. Within two and a half years after her venting and telling people all about what she witness and hearing ...Etc She was murdered. On March 28,2010... So-called Mata suicide but I don't believe it by her husband... Just a cover up... someone just wanted her to shut up about the situation and make it disappear and maybe even hard disappear sadly she was one speaking out against stuff that still going on I personally know this from my own experience... I want the whole world to know that the USA has a corrupt business of selling off their own so-called American families... They don't believe you can be low income and be a presentable parent... Disabled and apparent... Despite what they might say or even have a heart attack and still can be a parent... Just listen to Alex Jones the radio show host... With senator Nancy Schaefer 10 months before she died... She did an interview with him about CPS.. And the color options... Less than a year later she's dead...!?!
Rafał Wantuch nope this shows anti-cop propaganda. I suggest you watch a video on the other side before making assumptions. Also this video is generalizing from a single event. That's not how science does it. You need many examples to prove something. Not just one event. ua-cam.com/video/0iMOskZ2jmY/v-deo.html
OriginalDizzleKing it wasn't generalizing it was just stating the fact they are not LEGALLY BOUND BY THE CONSTITUTION to put themselves at risk to help you even though that's what they're job is for in theory
to the simpleton sjw brain it is a message to generalize cops and its anti cop propaganda regardless. If that was the message then they definitely worded it poorly if they didn't want it to be looked at as generalization
In america; first responders act under a certain "rule" in that their first priority is the safety of themselves. Reality is cruel; but many of us prefer to do our job than be deemed a "hero" and have a highway named after us. although i'm a paramedic and not a police officer; if a patient is being violent to me then I'm just supposed to leave the scene. And if they die; i can't get sued for neglect because they were threatening me. I think this situation with the cops is very similar. Although we wish cops would just rush in to violent situations and save everyone, they really can't do that and legally it isn't even their obligation.
When I lived in the Tri-state area, I didn't go out with at least something to protect myself. Not a Gun or a Knife, because that would get me sent to jail. Sometimes friends wanted to go to a venue that required a pat down. If it felt safe enough, I'd walk back to my car and drop off whatever I had. If it didn't, I'd just go home. It was always the same comment, though. "Dude, why? There are cops everywhere. They'll protect you." And I always said the same thing. "Cops arrive AFTER incidents. It's up to you to survive them".

america’s good samaritan laws are more “if you try to help someone bleeding out and they die you are not responsible” kinda laws. It’s places in europe that actually hold the public accountable for helping people in danger
Brooke But the police didn't have to legally help him either, meaning that a good samaritan has the same legal expectations to do so. I know it wasn't present here but in some places it's a crime not to assist those injured or in need of help if you can provide it without risking your own health.

That description of how blood flowing out of your head is so accurate. Never been stabbed in the head or face before but was in a car accident where my face blew out the car's windshield (old 90s buik). When I cam to my face and head felt like it had warm water running down it. I didn't realize how much I was covered in blood. People gathered and I legit felt fine could walk around, but people gathered around and some of the women started screaming with their hands over their mouths when looking at me that they made me panic and fearful that I got disfigured or something.
Some people just don't get the concept of humour, I guess. On the other hand, regardless of the Supreme Court's decision, if they're advertising that they protect and don't, then it's still false advertising. The court decision would merely necessitate that they change their badging to reflect this change in focus. Just sayin. :-D
Then you will be stopped by the police and your car searched where they will find drugs and you will be arrested and god help you in the jail! I'm surprised the stabber didn't have a gun!
What the actual fuck I understand that the police don't want to get hurt, I totally do. However as a human being I couldn't stand and watch another human being be stabbed and attacked
If I was watching I would do nothing, you probably wouldn't do anything too because that is the natural response a person would have regardless of what they think they would do.
Probably you're one of the very few who couldn't restrain himself from helping someone who's getting attacked Cuz nowadays most people start recording the event with their phones instead!!

@@unovasfinest2623 bruh when did "expatriate" become a thing? so you don't have to call white people immigrants? or you don't have to emigrate? because it sounds like especially americans want to keep being racist towards immigrants with that word, but don't want to call the good white people the same "dirty word"... but if you move to a different country you're an immigrant, not an "expat" smh

But seriously though, what the f**k.
This is what happens when you don't own a gun, that guy on the story was very lucky to survive 3 stabbings on his head.
jonathan smith that's the thing arn't the cops meant to be the good guys with the guns, fuck man in nz our cops don't carry guns, we expect them to be able to beat down you average crazy the bad ass way and they do
jonathan smith Having a gun can be of great use to protect oneself, but if the situation in the video were to occur to someone, how would that someone defend him or herself with a gun?
The police need to record the guy first and call in for backup.

welcome to 'murica where MONEY is worth more than Human life and corporations have better rights than people.
"...who pays them"
Le Dolphin Dogs also have more rights than US citizens now. You cannot harm a pit bull even if it's having your face for lunch. And women have more rights than you. You are no longer allowed to look them in the eye. You must wear a yellow star with an 'M' on it at all times. You're fucked.
That taught me three things about the US:
1: The police sucks
2: The Judicial sucks
3: The healthcare sucks
Honestly, this was very enraging to watch; I'm glad you made it out ok.
>uses one incident to generalize an entire justice system and economical system
You aren't very bright are you?
@@bluntcabbage6042 Sorry, I just realized now you wrote me, so I'll respond a bit too late :)
Well, that the healthcare sucks in the US is not a new information - you guys (I don't know if you are a US American, but I'll just assume you are) need to pay for everything , even a ride with an ambulance costs when you're lucky several hundred dollars. Surgical operations in the US vary from 3000 to 9000 $ and as far as I know mostly has the private person to pay for themselve.
People who need insuline because of diabetes (one package) have to pay up to 500$ for it.
Oh, and here is an article regarding the health care of the US: www.google.de/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/mar/13/us-healthcare-costs-causes-drug-prices-salaries
So far to the healthcare.
(978 people killed by the police is btw more than the doubled amount of all people killed in all crimes in Germany in 2017 (405 people))
So the police doesn't just seem to have a problem with shooting a lot of people, but also seem to have a racist problem. www.vox.com/cards/police-brutality-shootings-us/us-police-racism
www.snopes.com/fact-check/do-police-kill-more-whites-than-black-people/
While black people are not killes as much as white people seen in comparison with the percentage of ethnic groups in the US, black people are three times as likely to be shot than caucasians.
True, that the judicial sucks I mostly based on this video though this alone shows how unfair it can be towards victims like this man against a powerful institution like the police force.
Hope you have a good day :)
@Magrat Knoblauch well your 100% right all this in US realy sucks well maybe not Judical system (or not entirely but still)
@@DarkForse You're right, maybe the Judical system sucks not so hard. I was a wee bit angrily by the video and decided upon the content of it and how the tribunal reacted that that was pretty unfair to him. Though I have of course no idea how it would react in other times, as I don't live there and don't read a lot of articles about it :)

Unfortunately the situation would likely be the same. Especially if the cops got a halfway decent lawyer who could cite the legal precedent both this case and that other one present, that basically indicates "the police aren't required to take action" or if their lawyer can argue that it would be an "unnecessary risk". What the actual fuck
I understand that the police don't want to get hurt, I totally do. However as a human being I couldn't stand and watch another human being be stabbed and attacked
Train was full and no one else helped him till it was all said and done, that is the American way.
If I was watching I would do nothing, you probably wouldn't do anything too because that is the natural response a person would have regardless of what they think they would do.
LO17 because Americans don’t give a fuck about other people
I'm British
Probably you're one of the very few who couldn't restrain himself from helping someone who's getting attacked Cuz nowadays most people start recording the event with their phones instead!!
This has aged well
Certainly
It has. Like the cop who stood outside of the Broward county high school building during the mass shooting. No duty to protect the kids!!! It’s why many people want guns to protect themselves since no one else is going to.
@@vegancandy9570 the guns are the probablem. If every gun in america magically disappeared for the next 5 years, there'd be no school shootings. That is how you stop school shootings. my
@@sootierpluto no it's not, guns being illigeal won't stop criminals from getting them
@@pvtwade7057 no no no I never said make them illegal. i literally said if every gun in america literally disappeared for the next 5 years MAGICALLY, and every time one entered the states it disappeared MAGICALLY, there would be no school shootings for that period of time
