Edit: I might have to say something because a lot of people are mad or confused as to why I only enjoy watching Gothamchess. I am not a dedicated chess player and only play it during my leisure time when I want to. I watch Levy for his commentary. When I watch other chess youtubers, my brain tends to fuzz out and I can't watch it for any longer. I hope at least one of you understands

These are the gems that I look forward to. I couldn’t handle every episode being filled with these trash games but it makes us feel good laughing at people people, who let’s be honest, care playing as badly as all of us.

this kind of guess the elo with intermediate and advanced players is so much better than the full ooga 3 digit games, tactics flying everywhere, genious comebacks, but they dont just hang their queen on move 5

Levy is out of his mind. I'm 800 and I can mate with king and rook vs king in 27 seconds. It's really basic.
I'm at 800 and I don't resign if I'm against rook and king because there's like a 20% chance my oponnent doesn't know how to mate and we either draw or stalemate

Back when my channel was still a thing, there was a bug with the live views chart. So I'd be checking it and it would go from 7000 views an hour, down to to 20-100 views an hour, but it was just a bug. The thing is, I didn't know it was a bug for at least a few weeks. It was extremely demotivating.
5:11 It's best because now the Rook protects the h4 square, and the g5 square is also protected. I saw this at around 600 ELO.

I been there with adsense pre youtube with websites from ads. I learned my lesson not to rely on google years ago. And made changes to make sure revenue was mainly from services sold and less about ads. Google is hard to contact/lack of support makes it very frustrating at times. Keep up the good work.
27:50, the thing Gotham missed is increment and berserking on lichess, if you're playing some one way stronger than you but you have 5+2, and they only have 2.5+0 cause they berserked, it evens the playing field a lot more than you expect, I beat an NM 800 points better than me in a lichess tourney because I had 2+1 and he only had 1+0, and my blitz is stronger than my bullet, and if you can't get a good attack going while berserking things can go sideways really quickly

The grandmaster battles are fun but seeing Levy explain blunders and mistakes is the most helpful thing a 500 rapid like me could use.
As for monetization, I know it’s difficult to keep up consistency in e-commerce so I’ll probably order some coffee even though I don’t drink it.
I paused this mid-video after hearing the Tompowsky bit countering the Nimzo, looked it up, and proceeded to end the losing streak I was on the very next game with it. Thank you. I was about to put a hole in my computer.

Watching Guess the Elo is very useful because players make the same mistakes as me and most of them are of the same level as me or a little higher or lower

But it did seem weird, kind of like black was trying to tone back his moves to match the level of the other player. The opening went so perfect for black, that it was only after that he started to make mistakes to see if the student could take advantage.
I still am not nearly good enough to guess that was going on. Teaching games are hard to pick up on at that level.

Thanks to your Teaching me the (London System) I came very close to winning chess versus iMac 2017 chess program it is rated 3000+.....I lost due to My non existent end game But the London System and all the lines I memorized appears to scare the sh*&*t out of the Bot which comes with iMacs OS newest.

Not related that much, but I started playing chess 5 days ago and been watching your videos a lot. Todayvwas the first time I made a brilliant move as a 500 rated player, basically I took a pawn and sacrificed a knight, the queen took it which enabled my other knight to do the classic king rook fork with my other knight, was quite surprised to see the fabeled double !! when i watched the analisys
