At low elo chess, whenever someone hangs a piece and the opponent misses it, you dont move the piece or defend it, because that would mean admmitting you hung a piece, and the opponent doenst take it because it would mean admitting that they missed it. What happens is that both players agree to continue as if the piece is defended.
The fact that the last move almost was checkmate, and it landed on the only square on the entire file that would lead to stalemate, is just fascinating. Brilliant display of how serious of a business is 200 ELO chess.
Gotham, I'm From Brazil, And I want to thank you for your videos. You see, I'm using chess alongside my therapy to cope with my ADHD and learn to concentrate more. Your videos are for sure fun and engaging, and they're making me feel able to get beter at chess, and by extension my concentration problems.
Thank you so much for this video but in these uncertain times it is more important than ever to have a solid understanding of how to manage your finances, invest wisely and navigate economic downturns. But my primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $240k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains, sure I'm all in on the long term game, but with my savings are lying waste to inflation and my portfolio losing gains everyday, I need a remedy.
If you need advice, consider speaking with a financial advisor. Don't get me wrong, you can do it on your own, but financial advisors have a lot more knowledge and expertise in this area.

Hi Levy, I would just like to thank you. From an aspiring 400 elo chess player to now hitting 1600 elo, it’s been a crazy ride. If it wasn’t for your content I wouldn’t be here right now. So thank you
Hey GothamChess! I just watched your amazing video, and I'm truly impressed. You took a simple game played at a low level and turned it into a treasure trove of lessons. Your explanations were so easy to understand, and your passion for chess really shines through. I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge and inspiring the chess community. Your videos are fantastic, and I can't wait to see what you'll bring us next! ❤👍
I cannot believe that someone added your words "And in this position I sacrificed.... THE ROOOOK!!" to the demo of a new game Levy! The game is called "Magin: The Rat Project Stories" and your words are in the third mission after you order some meat from the butcher at the market! You must see this!!
Today I had an absolutely horrible and sorrowful day but your content is so good that it lifted me up. I appreciate you very much levy. 15 year boy from India❤❤❤🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
About 8:35 in the video: Ne2 does do something, even if it's not a great something - it blocks the Bishop's view of d1, giving the ability to long castle without losing a piece, since Nd2 can be captured by the Knight on c4. I'm not saying it's a great move, but it does accomplish something. Great videos btw!
I was today on my first ever turnament, im 600 and there were people with 800-1800 and i got 3 wins from 7 games, i was placed 47th from 77 players :) im happy
Great video Gotham, really enjoyed your 100 elo smurfing video, and i was wondering if you would ever decide to play at the elo levels of 400-600? anyways thanks for being a great chess teacher
hmm yes, the 200 ELO Gambit. My favorite. People really do have good ideas, though, at all levels. It's just natural thinking, not imitation of something they thought they saw on YT. I love how they continue playing with so much confidence, oblivious of all the mistakes and near misses.

I like the idea that 200 elo players' vision is based on movement.
Kind of like snake vision. Some species only see prey that moves. They don’t render discovered attacks.
200 elo moves are like the blue attacks from Undertale where they only hit you if you’re moving.
i've been 200 elo. this is correct

Wasn't queen ti d8 checkmate? Why would he choose to stalemate the game?
The best part of low ELO chess is that it's utterly unpredictable drama. There will be carnage.

@@theunholybanana4745 He just needed to move his 2nd queen to the d8 instead of d6. d8 is covered by the first queen, so it's mate.
