Roaring Skies mostly spiked because of Shaymin EX being a 4x staple in almost every top tier deck at the time, so people opened it like crazy trying to pull them. Reprint was in part due to players being priced out of competitive deck building, the easier to pull version was still like $50 at one point. Evolving Skies spiked mostly because it has a huge amount of great pulls for collectors (Eevee evolutions/Rayquaza alternate arts). Basically every expensive card in the set has way cheaper versions for players, even though they're not really competitve cards anyway. Elite Trainer boxes are still available for pretty cheap for people to open, it's just the booster boxes that are through the roof because they weren't reprinted as much. I think as far as TPC is concerned, there's plenty of supply and they don't need to bother going back that far when Scarlet and Violet are right around the corner
Came to comment this. Shaymin EX was a staple in almost every deck at 4x. Just the regular EX too. That was the only card that made the set decent at the time. Not only was there a reprint, but they also released side products with shaymin ex in it essentially plummeting the BB back to MSRP.

base set singles bro
I bought 6 brilliant stars and 3 astrial blister packs today. Never will they be opened by me. Added to inventory list and stored into the warehouse. In 2025 I’ll relook into my haul
@@toatoa10 ya I always thought about it but me and my family are big into hotwheels also and with only one income with a family of four things can get tough I grew up with base jungle and fossil I rember going cars store my dad buying me 10 and 25 cent singles because he was a drug addict and couldn’t afford packs I won’t ever forget that but that’s a great idea !
@@aaronscott2278 oh man I used to have a ton of Hot Wheels as a kid. never kept those but at least I kept some of my base set cards. kind of beat up though
"I try to be professional on this channel" lmfao never laughed so hard
That's what I've been saying. Actually I don't even know anymore what I've been saying but in the end, throw a dart and decide with that what to invest in pokemon sealed, it's so hard to miss. I'm personally into Japanese stuff, looks better lel but I gotta say. Wish I didn't open that box of evolving skies I bought at msrp to find a single Jolteon SR, that was brutal to say the least.
Jpn quality is so high - I realized it with the difference between eng and jpn celebrations zards
I sold all my singles lol 😂 kept my slabs. And all my sealed product!
This is exactly what I've been saying on my channel
4:20 NOICE !!
I have 1 meagre case of Evolving Skies but I'm holding that for at least a decade.
Shaymin EX my man XD
Don’t worry Taco Bell delivers. And I’m sitting on everything til the day I hear you talking about sword and shield as you talk about Sun and moon
I love Pokémon. I’m a 100% bull. I’ve been telling people on my channel to buy. MSRP is not the worst entry point. There is risk, welcome to life. For me, the risk of regret is a lot more terrifying.
Truly a gambling addiction moment
We are about to find out how many of these collectibles have value, and how many had value only because the Fed chose to keep interest rates at 0% for 10 years.
Rudy actually knows the Pokemon names what is going on here first he is selling Elite Trainer boxes now he actually knows the name of Pikachu's?????
